It'd be nice if our characters could auto wiggle once picked up. I'm tired of swinging my joystick around in circles.

@Exerlin the reason I stated 3 David's and 1 Jane would be the 3 David's would have 10% action speed each while the Jane would have 5%(if her passive works on herself). They could easily 99% their heal as well to heal at the opportune moment(being chased).
As for my idea, yeah, I did include buffing weak survivor perks to be strong enough to compete with already strong ones. Jeff originally I was thinking of having that perk where he breaks hooks he's on. it's still a pretty damn good passive, and I feel the only reason people don't use it more is because there are stronger ones. Having it stuck on a survivor though would make it enticing enough to use because they still have 4 perk slots for other things. I could be wrong though, and he could use Distortion or a buffed Distortion. Claudette for example, I planned on buffing Botany Knowledge to compete with the others. I could give you an entire list if you'd like of changes/survivor passives that I had in mind. Autodidact in general needs a buff though(and I really think 10% increase skillcheck trigger odds while healing is the way to go), I was planning on giving Adam Deliverance because it's really decent and used often enough. The only thing about Deliverance and Decisive Strike is the killer would already know you had it because you were a Laurie/Adam. But at the same time, the killer still couldn't do anything about you having it. For example, a killer can't just sit there and watch Adam until he goes into struggle or he's losing pressure. At the same time a Laurie still has a 1 minute timer after being unhooked before she can be picked up, so I'm not sure it'd matter too much regardless of them having perks that had some sort of counterplay. Jake for example I was going to either give him Calm Spirit or Saboteur, but buffed to 100% speed without a toolbox.
-
@PolarBear I don't see how this would be possible. There wouldn't be anyone rank 20 now if that was the case, because I still see plenty or rank 20s due to the shoddy matchmaking. The only way low rank queues would be terrible would be if there were no new players coming to play the game. However there are new people playing the game every day, and with the Stranger Things chapter coming, I'm sure there will be a lot more than normal.
-
@TAG No what I'm saying is two people classify it as horror on the internet, and those two people are so scared of actual horror that they don't watch it, but are completely fine watching it on Netflix. If someone scared of their own shadow(who doesn't watch horror) watches it without being totally scared out of their mind, even going so far as to tell others who do not watch horror that it is totally fine to watch, I don't see how it could be considered horror. But if we're going to classify it as horror, as I said we may as well have a Gremlins chapter as well.
-
What they should have done from the beginning was make all maps with the same amount of pallets, and all doors the same distance apart, and not made addons that make powers flat out better, but rather change little things about how the power works. Having things that tip the scales so drastically to one side or the other will never create balance. It then just becomes about who brings the bigger guns that determines who wins.
-
@Rydog @Mushwin They just filled it with way too much SJW agenda. I couldn't watch it. I can usually tolerate it(I mean I do watch Netflix, lol), but some shows just go above and beyond that threshold to tolerate. When every episode is about how men are egotistical evil douchebags who only want to see women serve them and whites rule the world, it becomes ridiculous.
-
@Mushwin I couldn't watch more than 2 episodes of all the man/white hate. The one person who got bullied by the bullies went and attacked one of them, then ONE of them pushed him/her back as he/she attacked(don't know what they define themselves as), and then claimed that he/she got teamed up on by 4 guys. Like really? That's a SERIOUS stretch even if they were dicks and this kind of truth stretching is becoming a real problem with society.
-
I say we go for a Gremlins chapter instead. Buffy is awesome though.
@JawsIsTheNextKiller There's a new PC trash Buffy? What? Jeez they've already ruined Charmed and Sabrina!
-
@Exerlin Your idea would create a meta. Some picks are more powerful than others(as for example the Jane + 3 Davids one, where all 3 David's have 10% action speed increase while Jane has 5. That's 35% action speed increase to all actions). My idea, while on the outside takes away options, in the grand scheme of things gives you more options. Some perks that would be trash tier otherwise become decent perks because there are less really strong ones. Dead Hard, Balanced Landing, Sprint Burst, and Lithe are all good abilities, and being tied to a survivor would not make everyone flock to one over the other because they'd all have something equally powerful in most situations. Claudette could have Botany Knowledge at base, making her heal more(and designating her role as a healer). Just things like that. I don't think it'd drive anyone away if they could run Lithe + Dance With Me + Quick and Quiet + Alert + Urban Evasion, or other such normally impossible builds. It'd give you an extra perk slot. Yes, it'd take things away from the overall pool of survivors, but the perks that see less use because they're not impactful enough would be more impactful due to the power vacuum.
-
I like a few of your ideas, I do think that having a Jane with 3 injured David's at 99/100% healed might be a bit powerful, but overall not overly OP. The problem with this is I don't think survivors need buffs at base without any kind of nerfs.
I would much prefer if survivors got one of their personal perks each as a passive(while removing that as a universal perk), that tiered up as you prestige them. This would give more incentive to prestige. You wouldn't see people with Decisive Strike + <insert exhaustion perk here> + other top meta perks anymore, and some of the older less useful perks would become more useful as a result, shifting the meta. I don't think it'd make them overpowered to have one powerful perk as a passive because overall they're losing perks from the pool of universal perks to make up for it, and what would be left would be mediocre perks, that have some decent effects that are overlooked because other perks blow them out of the water.
-
That's flat out wrong. The only way you can learn is by experience. Or do you expect bad survivors to follow the good survivors around while they're getting chased so that they can observe these good survivors and the game becomes even more miserable than it already was(and this wouldn't happen anyways).
-
@Locker_Monster The problem with your thought process is that all four survivors have to know what the others are thinking and be on the same page. They also have to KNOW the killer is camping and not everyone(I don't either) brings Kindred. Sure, it might work with SWF, but then if you're solo the others might end up throwing themselves at the hook and you're left sitting here being the only survivor trying to punish him thinking "Well I guess this dick is getting all the blood points despite doing absolutely nothing but sitting there staring at a wall and I'm getting a depip to be put back into this ######### even more often". I also don't know how you think 2 gens can get done by yourself in 100 seconds when most people claim 80 seconds is the time it takes for a gen to get done.
-
With Play With Your Food, couldn't they just keep doing gens while that person is hit with deep wounds, essentially giving them more time to do gens because that survivor not only was originally going to be put in dying state, but they also aren't going to be put in dying state for a while? I mean, they were already hit twice, might as well just treat them as in the dying state and do gens. Even the one hit with it could still do gens until they go down.
-
Yessss, I'm glad I didn't buy Leatherface all those times now. Although I do want the other two perks as well, but BBQ was the main one. Dance With Me needs to come next. >>;
-
You were banking on the Bill dying and waiting on the hatch like an immersed Claudette. You should only go to the hatch when they ARE hooked, rather than just standing there waiting for them to die. You weren't even trying to do gens at this point. You deserved this.
-
@Clogwrench Well, I want Gizmo as a survivor and Stripe as a killer then. (Also that looks like it's straight out of Wikipedia).
-
Yep, survivor queues take forever. Even worse I keep getting "disconnected from the host" in-between games. I'll search for a lobby, find one, disconnected from host, or NAT type crap, search again, disconnected, then the third time(probably 15 minutes at this point), it works. Game plays fine too so I know it's not my connection. It's even worse when the game I get into is actually a red bar the entire time so I have to search for a new lobby.
-
@Crazewtboy I personally believe that barrier to entry is the main reason we have so few survivors. It sucks being camped, and it sucks facing off against a camper when you want everyone to get out. It sucks even more when you know what you need to do to beat a camper, but the rest of your team doesn't have that same thought process. There are a lot of things in lower ranks that are extremely frustrating to deal with for survivors, and killer is extremely easy in those low ranks because you don't have to think about anything, just hook one person, stay there, and the others will come to you like flies to a campfire. It's why I've been working on survivor so much recently(aside from trying to get all perks on David). I don't want to deal with those types of games anymore when I play survivor. It generally means a depip. Green and purple ranks have much less of that. Anything less though and it's pretty much a tossup of what you'll get.
-
Good luck, the game doesn't tell killers the most efficient way to play, so newer players in the killer role will camp the hell out of their first hook consistently until they hit a barrier, and then that will determine if they stay and try to find better, less frustrating ways to get their kills or leave. New survivors will hit that same wall sooner rather than later, because they're being camped from their very first game. In the end, it's the newer players that will determine whether they stay or go.
@Crazewtboy More experienced killers might actually make them stay, as they don't camp as much. It's the newer killers that camp the most, because they don't know any other way.
-
@TheGameZpro3 Was he a chapter? I don't know, I wasn't here for Bill, I didn't play L4D, and I don't really care about him, and I didn't want him when he was coming to PS4, so I mean...
@xmenfanatic Except I've seen kids watching Stranger Things who barely have any experience with horror(and are scared of plenty), not scared of Stranger things. None of the scenes invoke fear, they invoke every other emotion but fear and there's no one who I have met that was actually SCARED of anything in ST. Again, I did research. The only people who find Stranger Things scary are people who are so afraid of horror movies that they don't watch horror, and these people were nervous about watching Stranger Things but actually said "It's not scary enough to stop watching". If this is horror, it's targeted for people who are scared of their own shadow and do not watch horror movies. And with that I have to ask, is it really horror if multiple people who are scared of literally anything are barely scared of it?
-
@LordGlint Slappy next killer confirmed.
-
@TAG Let's be honest Netflix has a lot wrong with it other than it's description of Stranger Things as horror. I've even looked up what people classify Stranger Things as, and while some things classify it as horror, the only people who actually describe it as scary are people who are afraid of their own shadow and don't even like to watch horror.
@Jimsalabim It's very kids oriented. Yeah, it's also teen drama, but it is in no way horror. It may not be ONLY a kid's show, but it's definitely as much a kid's show as it is teenage drama, and nowhere near horror.
@JESUS_CHRIST I never said I disliked Stranger Things, and there are many characters in the show I like(meaning I am invested. I mean I've watched all three seasons). That doesn't make me think any more of it being horror than if I hated it. It's not horror. It's teenage drama with kids and sci fi elements. The thing all those movies have in common(and yes, Jaws during it's time WAS scary, but that's because movies weren't like they are now). Again, the only people who actually get SCARED in Stranger Things are people who are so afraid of horror that they don't even watch horror, and are only invested because it isn't really horror. None of the death scenes in Stranger Things are meant to scare anyone, except maybe Barb's, and that was literally the only one. All of the others are either emotional scenes meant to make you go "No don't kill him" much like GoT, people you aren't invested in or don't even know, or heroic scenes in which the person sacrifices themselves to save another. There is gore, and there may be one or two jump scares, the bits that SHOULD be scary are watered down, and even those scenes are so few and far between I could almost forget about the other world known as the Upside Down until they bring it to the conclusion where they bring it all together.
-
@DudeDelicious Stranger Things has no horror in it whatsoever though. It has gore, and maybe the occasional jumpscare, but it's a kid's show. I watched horror as a child. I had nightmares of Jason Voorhees chasing me in a field of corn(funny how we have a corn field in DBD). I had nightmares of Freddy and Michael Myers and Chucky terrified me. I have friends whose 3-5 year olds watch Stranger things with them and aren't the least bit scared.
-
@Raven014 Stranger Things is not horror in any way. It's teen drama. Every death is an emotional sappy scene, every scene with a monster is an action scene, and most of the show is about romance or kids living their daily lives with an added dose of sci-fi things. If it's supposed to be horror then this world has really gone to the crapper when it comes to the horror genre. As I said before, the only scene that was even close to horror related was Barb's death, and it wasn't even 2 seconds.
@xCarrie Outfits are something not lore related, or game related. They are cosmetics, purely for looking the way you want. Ash is a survivor, I would give them a bit more leeway with that, and I believe for all intents and purposes it was MEANT to be horror. I didn't watch it, but if it was bad horror, that's a different story. A killer(or survivor) can have a sense of humor while still being considered horror, but a show can't be full comedy and be considered horror.
-
@Raven014 But it's not horror.
@Redcum if you're making fun of what I said in that other post, I don't see why, as it WASN'T confirmed before. Now it is, and I said that it could be cosmetics(which I hoped as again, Stranger Things is a teen drama, not horror). It's not right for the game, but they need more players and more money so I can understand why they would sell out.
-
@Raptorrotas Except I see killers complain about 30 second chases. If chases become short, people will be hooked faster, people will die faster, and gens won't get done. It'll just shift the balance to where killers 4k most of the time without even bringing addons, and survivors will go from doing gens to going down really fast. Also, looping is the only way for a survivor to survive. Any killer with decent set of eyes will rarely lose sight of a survivor, and even if they do, it won't be for long. Add to that the constant nerfs to stealth on survivors while buffing the stealth of killers(meaning survivors don't even know where there are and thus cannot stealth), games will just end way too quickly. If looping ever goes away, or is nerfed heavily, the only thing that could make surviving longer an option would be adding more gens but keeping the required gens completed the same.
I also see a lot of conflicting opinions in this regard. Some people say "I want loops to be nerfed so survivors don't run me for 5 gens. I want to be the "power role" and for survivors to have to hide from me" and then I see those same people saying "I want to be able to find survivors easier."
Also I'm pretty sure the main reason games are too fast is because people don't care about healing anymore. They've adapted after the SC nerfs. Now they just do gens asap and try to get the hell out. I think people just want everyone to be those immersed Claudettes who run to the corner of the map to self care or drag the unhooked/unhooker with them so the game lasts longer, but that's not gonna happen.
-
Iirc Stranger Things monsters are wary of light. They try to stay in dark areas. Perhaps you can flashlight blind him without even flashlighting his face. Or perhaps you just have to flashlight the mouth. Who knows.
-
Honestly ANY fall shifts your balance. Balance is shifted when you're not standing straight, so even walking is a shift in balance. Balanced Landing makes sense as it is.
-
6: Completely unbalanced and ridiculously in favor of whoever brings the bigger guns.
-
@Spirez Technically, if these are the Season 1 versions, which they VERY MUCH LOOK LIKE, Steve is 17 and Nancy is 16. If they're from Season 2(They're definitely not from Season 3), Nancy is 17 and Steve is 18. They're wearing Season 1 attire though.
-
Have a +1.
-
@Fibijean Actually I'm pretty sure it's a bug. It's been happening to a bunch of people regardless of internet connection, usually while searching for a match, telling you that you were disconnected from the killer, or right as you get into the lobby, being disconnected and saying there were NAT type problems. I usually have to go through 2-3 lobby searches before it starts working, then I get a game, that's perfectly fine btw, and then go back into 2-3 lobby searches.
-
I dunno why people call looping an exploit, and a lot of people want to nerf looping, but let's be honest. If a chase ends quicker, that's going to be much more boring than if it takes longer. I know everyone hates holding M1 on a generator but nerfing looping would just make the game easier for the killer without actually extending game time. In fact shortening it. Games already go fast, so why are we trying to make them go faster? If every pallet is just immediately unsafe, and you pretty much HAVE to drop pallets almost immediately, the game is basically going to be HEAVILY killer favored to the point that they'll likely get a 3k much more often.
On Badham I've found a few pallets that honestly shouldn't even exist. Basically structures in a straight line with a pallet in-between that are really short. This type of pallet does nothing for the survivor, and is a detriment, for example, only built to end a chase as quick as possible when usually there are no other pallets anywhere nearby them.
-
@ItsYourBoyGuzma Not really the same, as Michael and Laurie don't do much outside of movies. Steve and Nancy however are still very much active in their realm, and their outfits are based on Season 1 from what it looks like. You could use the years there could be seconds in their universe idea, but that would imply they escaped. Not sure how two kids would escape a realm like this while like 16 adults haven't.
-
I had an idea for a different objective via offerings to replace Moris and make them basekit after two hooks. It's lacking in the full idea as the offering was based on the killer and I didn't have time to think of a new objective for EACH killer but the idea was basically that the offering would grant the killer the ability to make survivors undergo their OWN trial(not repairing generators). For example, with the Pig, all survivors would start with an active RBT on their head, and there would be more boxes than normal with extra time on the RBTs to accommodate, and they basically had to get the RBTs off their head. The Pig wouldn't have to search for generators and only needed to look for survivors. The doors would be already opened, you just can't go through them with a trap on your head and would have to find them yourself. She could also put another one on you(as she has 4 still) if she downs you.
-
@ItsYourBoyGuzma I mean they could add it as a cosmetic but it appears Steve and Nancy are both from season 1. I still don't understand how lore will accommodate for this. Hopper would have made more sense.
-
@Catbucket I mean I don't have a problem with you. I just respect balance and most of the forums do not want balance.(Responding because I apparently got a mention).
-
Guys, there is currently one more survivor than killers. Stop arguing and just look at your list of killers/survivors, lol. Either way, they might add two killers to make up for it next time.
-
I think for Autodidact we need a perk that increases skillcheck odds at base without any condition(or at least make Autodidact increase skillcheck odds while healing). then it would be like Self-Care+Botany Knowledge, except a bit better. If we don't ever get that kind of perk, Autodidact should work with Self-Care so it isn't completely useless.
-
@TheUnendingNightmare I'm pretty sure those weren't listed as status effects before and I heard the devs were talking about doing something for stealth killers. Also Oblivious isn't the Pig and GhostFace's power. It's a survivor status effect as it says the SURVIVOR doesn't know that they're in the terror radius, not that the killer hides their terror radius. Also, the Cursed status effect is definitely new. There's no hex perk with a secret penalty to survivors that they suffer while a totem is lit. They're all shown to the survivor. Also might mention Oblivious says nothing about hiding the red stain, and GF and Pig both hide their red stain.
-
@TheUnendingNightmare I just checked my PS4 and it has them on mine as well. Go into tutorials>The Game>Status Effects List. It has Undetectable and Oblivious with some code for an image but the image doesn't show in front of the name of the status effect. Then it has a description:
Undetectable: The killer enters a stealth-like mode which suppresses their red stain and terror radius, and blocks all survivor aura-reading abilities.
Oblivious: The Survivor is oblivious to the imminent danger of a nearby killer. They do not hear The Killer's terror radius and they are not considered as being within the terror radius for power or perk effects.
Cursed(this one has an image): The Survivor suffers a secret penalty related to a Hex Totem, cleansing the Hex Totem releases the curse.
-
@TheUnendingNightmare There was actually a screenshot. I believe someone had it appear on their tutorial on PS4 or something under the status effects tab. One was called Oblivious, and the other was....I forget, Undetectable maybe?
-
@TheUnendingNightmare Yeah I had a game last night against a Clown who killed 2 people and it was just me and a Jake left and I think we were both being stealthy because neither of us were hooked(the Jake was once and I unhooked him). I was doing a gen inside the killer shack and the moment I heard a heartbeat I would walk around the shack, crouching by trees over to an area with a big rock and a pallet far enough away from the shack where he wouldn't find me. I could see him walking all around looking for me, it was quite funny because I did this probably 6 or 7 times(he had Pop and popped my gen), one time he finally walked over to where I was but I managed to walk all around the rock so he couldn't find me and he walked away again(if he had turned one meter he would have seen me), until he found me by and my gen was ALMOST done(he walked away and shortly walked back, lol, I had been juking his attempts to trick me until that one point because he left just long enough for me to think he was going to the other gens that were being repaired cuz the Jake was going between two as I could see him with Alert kicking them), and the last gen popped as I was running him around. Sadly when he finally caught me he had enough time to walk up and plop me pretty much right in front of the exit gate and camped me so the Jake had no chance to save me because he didn't have BT. The Jake also left before I could get into struggle which made me lose my struggle points dammit >_>;
-
@TheUnendingNightmare They've brightened survivors clothing recently, and soon they're going to be making stealth killers unable to be seen by any aura reading. The only aura reading perks(to see killers anyways) for survivors that are good are Alert and OoO, and one has a drawback. Once stealth killers get immunity to aura reading, then no one's gonna run aura reading anymore in case they get a perk that's quite literally worthless.
-
@immortalls96 It's not really COUNTERED by camping. It's just a bad call if you ARE camping. Think of it like Borrowed Time, you don't know they have it, so you can just play however you would normally. If you get hit with it then oh well. It just makes it harder for those that would want to camp without being right in your face(because a lot of killers that are up in green ranks tend to do this. They'll stay right out of MYC range, wait for the unhook, then rush over, down the person unhooked, then chase the one who unhooked). It's more of a counter to an advanced form of camping.
@NuclearBurrito I honestly doubt they'll give survivors anything for stealth. It seems like they'd prefer killers be more stealthy than survivors as their more recent rounds of nerfs to survivors have been to their stealth. It seems like they want to force looping.
-
@immortalls96 A lot of perks are used to counter bad practices. This perk idea sounds great and honestly camping has it's own counter. Plus it's not like they can know if you have the perk or not. If you camp you're punishing yourself.
-
@My_Farewell YES! Headbutt the survivors to death!
-
I can see why you're frustrated though OP. I literally just had a 3 blink Nurse who basically camped(at least what you would call camping for Nurse). She'd blink away from the hook, then blink directly back to check on me. I got unhooked, and downed the second I got off, as did others. One person managed to get me off as she got preoccupied(I assume the time she blinked away she found someone else), and then hooked them. She did it to every person until we all died except for the one person who got hatch JUST BARELY.
-
@WeaponXMetsu that would require a separate queue and would divide players up in a game where we already have decently long queue times for one side or the other.
-
