@Mister_Holdout The changes haven't been talked about and haven't happened, so we don't know, but going by the information on the status effect, it disables the survivor's aura reading. This means if the survivor looks in the killer's direction, they won't see the killer's aura. However this also gives aura reading to the killer. This would mean the killer would see the survivor without the survivor seeing the killer. Thus, no point in bringing OoO ever. Unless blindness somehow removes the killer's ability to see the survivor as well. I don't think that's the case though.

Exactly. Well said. New killers get so confused when they finally secure someone on a hook, wait till they die, maybe achieve a second hook before the remaining survivors escape only to be told “Entity Displeased”
The current tutorials are inadequate
I agree with this as well. I suggested once that the tutorials tell what to do to punish campers, and tips for new killers, but even that only got met with backlash because people want to preserve their "playstyle".
-
@BlueFang I said it makes me want to do it, not that I am. I also said that it was my guess as to WHY gen rushers are a thing. Also I've encountered it for several games in a row since it's rank reset, ya know. The fun time where you're facing the absolute worst of the worst(Well not really, the worst of the worst is brown ranks, but you know what I mean, the scummy people). If I don't play and don't rank up I'll just be stuck right there back with it even more because the lower you go, the worse your survivors are, the less humanity the killer has, etc.
I also wouldn't count BNP on a toolbox as toxic. I'd say it's more so insurance that the game won't be one of those where an ######### gets a 4k because everyone else are stumbling around trying to save a guy while the killer's camping them.
@Mister_xD If a killer was trying to hyper focus on his objective he'd be chasing all four, not standing by the hook of one guy trying to make sure one guy died. He'd be going for a 4k, not a 1k.

You really think OoO benefits the killer in any way? No, really no. xD
Oh, I must have misread when I thought it said that the killer could see the survivor too. I must have also misread the fact that eventually there's gonna be this status effect that's going to be for "stealth killers" who can completely bypass the survivor's aura reading, but hey, they'll still be able to see survivors because this status effect does nothing to them, making OoO completely a detriment against someone like that. No one will use it in a patch or two. It'll be the new Left Behind.
-
@BlueFang If there were things to discourage/destroy the "toxic" things in DBD, then perhaps it wouldn't be something people would engage in. Camping should never have been encouraged to begin with. It's a terrible feeling to be camped in any game, and DBD is no different. It takes away what makes it fun. Moris do as well, because they encourage players to stay near the hook to get their Moris off. Also while some randomness is good, I don't feel like there should be anything that significantly tips the scales to either side. If anything, killer add ons should do stuff like what they did to Freddy, change the power to do something similar, but different, rather than make them more powerful. While some of his addons definitely make him more powerful, there's nothing like Iridescent Heads or OmegaBlink Nurse. Same goes for Survivors. BNPs probably shouldn't exist. Instaheals maybe would be alright as there are a decent amount of killers who can completely ignore them as well as perks, but I would have preferred the game to be balanced rather than volatile and literally based on whoever brings the bigger guns.
-
@Mister_xD You say that, but I've seen a LOT of people complaining about survivors with toolboxes and BNPs on the forums, and comparing them to some extremely nasty things, like for example your camping/tunneling comparison. Although I disagree tunneling is a thing, just like I technically disagree gen rush is a thing(I mean yeah, gens get done fast, but that's what happens when you do them). Slowing the game down would possibly make killers too powerful as the game could be flipped on it's head in a matter of seconds. Especially with the way they want to make more pallets that do literally jack now.
-
@immortalls96 It won't get smoothed out against moris, unless they add actual voice chat to the game itself where everyone is literally SWF. People aren't gonna just NOT save someone. unless they're told not to.
-
@Immortalls96 No it doesn't do anything, because someone is always going to go for the save, whether it's you, or someone else. The only way you could reliably do what you say is if you're in a SWF, or everyone is on the same page, which is rare.
-
@immortalls96 I always wait until the killer leaves. Problem is with moris, they're waiting for the unhook.
-
@Immortalls96 In my experience all killers who bring an ebony only need to make a survivor lose ONE chase. The second one is free because they're there the moment they get unhooked. Whether the offering is MEANT to depip anyone or not, doesn't mean that it's not used that way consistently.
@Tzeentchling9 Survivors didn't always do 3 gens before one hook. They don't always now. I never said it was an answer either. I said it was possibly a reaction.
-
@Immortalls96 Bringing an offering that has one purpose which is to depip everyone in the match isn't bm? Also yeah, the game does let them do it that fast, but like you said on that other thread, there are people who bring everything they can to get the gens done and get the hell out. That's what I'm talking about.
@Kilmeran Yeah, but I'm talking about the toolbox+Prove Thyself+possibly BNP gen rushers.
-
@LCGaster @Immortalls96 I dunno, the more I get camped, or see someone camping, the more I want to ruin their fun just as they ruin others'/my fun. The more I get a match where a guy brings an ebony, the more I want to stock up on brand new parts(despite never getting any on my survivors) and gen rush the hell out of them so they don't get even one hook.
Of course, when playing killer I also get these kinds of urges, but killer stuff feels more unfair so I usually just use something that gives me a slight advantage, or a killer who doesn't have something super unfair, and I don't bring moris for sure unless I have a ritual and don't have a perk for it on the killer it's for.
-
@Mister_Holdout While you call OoO toxic, it has a benefit to the killer as well. What about Insidious, which has no benefit to survivors and is even more toxic?

Every time I actually take a Spirit on a ride, I expect noed. Shockingly popular on boosted Myers players too.
Spirit Players in my experience are generally the worst. I generally expect NOED, Ruin, Haunted Grounds(not complaining about these perks btw, just my observations), and for them to walk around there near the hook and get their haunting ready to rush back to it the moment someone's saved. Not in Red Ranks yet on my survivor(purple as of posting), but I've never faced a Spirit who wasn't like that, unless they were farming BPs, except maybe one time. Quick and Quiet and Iron Will are my saviors generally for players like that, as at least I can get a pip by losing them a couple of times when my teammates are going down like flies.

As a matter of fact, your an alt too.
Me too, I'm account 112, with Xboned being account 115.
-
Tunneling is generally a survivor mistake, not a killer one. I only consider it tunneling if you're friggin crab walking from point A to point B watching for that hooked person to get unhooked and then immediately rush over to sacrifice the unhooked. I have had this happen, with a mori in play generally. It's not fun and it's pretty dickish and personally something needs to be done to prevent it. I don't think Decisive Strike is as good as people say though. Generally you're just slugged and unable to do anything regardless, and even if you're not, it's a one time use.
-
@immortalls96 Don't get focused, sure. It's impossible to not get focused in DBD unless you're a Blendette and doing Blendette things. If you go on that hook even once you can bet your ass the second you get off that hook the killer is rushing his ass right back over to either re-hook you, or slug you and go after the other survivor. You're not gonna black pip though if the killer gets a 4k and you're not being optimal. You need at least iridescent in one category and gold in 2 to safety pip in red ranks without surviving. That means you need to do a lot of saves, run the killer around, and do gens to at least gold with one in iridescent to get a safety pip if you do not survive.
-
@immortalls96 If they get 4ks MORE OFTEN THAN NOT, then I wouldn't think that it had to do with the survivors they're facing not being optimal, unless every survivor they faced wasn't optimal. If they're not, they'll depip and eventually not be in red ranks anymore.
-
@immortalls96 If she has the tools to beat 4 man SWF, then absolutely yes she is 100% better. I don't see that many 5 blink nurses honestly, but that's likely not because they don't have the 5 blink addon, but moreso because 5 blink Nurse is so stupid and Nurses already know they can get their wins without the addon that they don't use it. You'll see a lot of Nurse's talking about how 5 blink Nurse needs to be addressed. Also, as you said, except for "elite Nurses". Do you really think you're going up against potato survivors if they're doing gens in 30 seconds and still getting out against a Nurse? They're optimal survivors, which means the killer would need to be optimal as well to beat them. There are killer mains who will 4 man more often than not with even Wraith.
-
@immortalls96 Again, if they had 4, one would be useless until they were unhooked and had a chance to do a gen(they can also be interrupted while doing the two skillchecks, completely wasting the BNP), two, I've seen people post pics of 3 ebonies connected to a bloody party streamers on Bubba. It's still ultra rare. 5 blink Nurse has the potential to be just as common as a BNP(in fact moreso because survivors have BNP, instaheal, and red keys to go through and I could even be missing one). Three, again, as I said, they're only doing part of their objective that fast. A Nurse can still come back from that as I'm sure we've all seen a Nurse get a 4k before even one gen was done. Four, again, if Nurse is the only thing that can beat a 4 man SWF(as explained by killer mains to other killers who ask for ways to deal with 4 mans), Nurse is obviously the most powerful thing in the game.
-
@immortalls96 I mean BNP is still strong. It's an ultra rare. Again, it's the same as a 5 blink Nurse, and again, after those two gens pop, they can't do that anymore. Even against that, you could find one of them who had the toolbox first, and then they can only do one gen like that.
-
@immortalls96 Okay, how exactly? You'd have to be chasing one survivor, and at least 2 would need brand new parts and someone with prove thyself. After that, they can't do that anymore, so it becomes normal. That'd be about the same as a Nurse with NOED at the end of the game getting 2 downs. It speeds up one portion of the game. Also you should compare a 5 blink nurse against that, because that would be survivors being as optimal as possible, or close.
-
@woundcowboy I have no real opinion on Nurse, I mean she does need nerfs, obviously or they wouldn't be doing any work on her, but to say they're going to gut her without any proof or even seeing what they're doing to her is extreme. Let's also mention the fact that a dev said they didn't play Nurse on live right now because it was too hard against the survivors they were facing.
Let's also mention someone said that the only counter to the "STRONGEST THING IN THE GAME" was Nurse. If Nurse counters the "STRONGEST THING IN THE GAME", wouldn't that mean that it's NOT the strongest thing in the game, and Nurse is actually the strongest?
Don't get me wrong, SWF is kinda bullshit, but being a solo survivor is even more bullshit. Being a solo survivor vs a Nurse is even more bullshit, and being a solo survivor vs a slugging Nurse is EVEN MORE bullshit.
-
Personally I think The Game is worse for Myers. Played it yesterday as Myers and it took me forever to get to tier 2 and I don't even remember if I hit tier 3.
-
A beginner's guide should encompass everything a beginner needs to know to play the game. I can't imagine that one thing will cover a completely different set of information as another as they're likely to try to cover everything you'd possibly want to know as a newbie, and while yes, the first place winner might cover a wider range of things than the others(having more info), that doesn't mean it should primarily be used outside. If anything that gives it more of a reason to be put INSIDE the game. The only way new players are gonna stick around is if there are less campers. The only way there'll be less campers is if they know how to deal with them/the new players who would potentially camp learn it's a bad play. New players are likely to try to find out everything they can in game, without looking for outside sources until they've played for a while. They're not gonna play for very long if every game turns into them being camped/their friend being camped and the killer getting 4ks like now. My main hope is that the winning one tells strategies for new players against camping, and explains to killers why it's generally a bad strategy, making the newbie experience less frustrating.
New killers are the reason new survivors do not enjoy the game, and once that is fixed, the game might actually see more people sticking around after playing. Also if new players searched for outside information first, we'd see a lot more skilled survivors in lower ranks instead of the ones who are eating trees the whole game. We would have less problems with camping as well in newbie ranks(and even up to green ranks and occasionally purple), because almost every bit of outside information tells the strategy to beat this.
As for BHVR removing their information for the game, while it is unlikely, it's in their best interest to add more information such as strategies and things for newbies to learn to deal with problems that exist within the game. If a newbie guide tells their information plus strategies and how to deal with certain problems, it should absolutely replace their information. If it doesn't tell all of their information, it'd be just as fine to keep it as a different tab on one of their many tabs on their current "guide".
-
@Fibijean The official one could be replaced. I mean it's not like it gives that much info as is. As for the other point, there are 3 prizes. The other two could easily be looked at if someone wanted to view an outside beginner guide. Most likely the guides won't go that far either, they'll likely either be videos or something like that, or text, and you can put a video guide into the game, there are other games that put video files in them.
-
If moris required 2 hooks, people wouldn't DC. Make it base kit at 2 hooks + a down and it would be exactly what it was intended, a cool animation without being so game changing as removing 1/3(really 2/3 since most people who use moris literally stand there waiting for the unhook) of their requirements. And by this I mean ebonies. Ivorys aren't as bad, but being 1 hooked is stupid.
-
@ βLAKE You're already a 1 hit down. Why should it be easier to hear you? Add a Spirit to the mix and you're screwed without iron will. It's a handicap as is, and the injured noises being 50% doesn't really help at all. That's way too weak of a bonus when if anyone knows you have No Mither you're going on the hook.
-
@kid187em "It's not like you'll see them every match" *looks at all the killers with over 20 ebony moris and remembers every few games they've had when playing survivor*
Yeah, maybe not EVERY match, just at least 1/3rd of my matches. Doesn't make it fair or fun when you have to wait 10-15 minutes for a match.
"Put away the survivor's rulebook and play the game"
I'd love to play the game. Moris pretty much prevent that. Let's not forget that again, it takes 10-15 minutes for a game, and that others disconnect. I'd also love to see where I said anything about what a killer has to do or doesn't. Moris are not fair, there's nothing to counter them unlike other things in the game, and there's no survivor equivalent of offering. It's not fair, and using the excuse of "you won't see them every game" does not make it fair. Sure, a mori would be fine on it's own, if it didn't cut the killer's requirements by MORE than 1/3, and shorten the game by a ton, and give lower BP for everyone involved. Anyone using an ebony mori isn't doing it for any good reason. They're literally only doing it to piss people off. It's basically legalized griefing and needs to be changed. I mean if they introduce a survivor offering that allows you to do 2 gens and have the hatch open once that happens, sure it'd be FAIR, but I would rather make mori basekit after 2 hooks and a down(with the same mechanics as now regarding points, so they're incentivized to hook instead with more points), and remove the offerings. Not only would it make moris more fun, it'd also make it where you didn't have to rely on an offering or certain very counterable perks to get your mori rituals in.
-
@FireHazard That's mainly my point. They're bad, but it doesn't stop killers from using them, and it doesn't stop me from seeing them quite often, and it's really unbalanced.
-
@FiftyCalReaper Okay, fine, 2 gens. Yes, 2 gens sounds like very little, but once he moris one person, he snowballs out of control because there's one less person on gens. Killer has to down each person one time, and hit them one more time(because every time someone has a mori they've got their tunnel vision on that hooked person). As I said, the Leatherface even was CRABWALKING(in case you don't understand what that means, he was facing me the entire time he was going from place to place, moving sideways waiting for me to be unhooked). It may take longer for a killer to use his mori, but he is taking off at least 4 hooks and removing their ability to get off/be helped off. So he's taking off OVER one third of his requirements. 2 gens is 1.25 of a survivor's requirements, which is pretty much equal.
Your counter is don't get hit 3 times, out of a potential 6 with 3 extra chances to get off, depending on how lucky you are/your teammates having flashlights. Sorry to break it to you but you're eventually gonna get downed regardless. Chases end at some point, you're only DELAYING the killer, not escaping him, unless you manage a Quick and Quiet juke. And there's not always a good pallet around when you're on a gen. Sometimes, that gen is out in the corner with one pallet that isn't even very good, and those are generally the gens you want to do the fastest.
-
@csandman1977 Quite a bit. There's usually either a green or pink mori every few games in my experience.
@Sairek I dunno why people compare keys to moris. They're entirely different as the key still requires you to do as much of your objective as you would have had to do normally. The only time a key is any different than normal gameplay is if people die, and you know where it is. I rarely see people exiting through hatch. I see moris all the time.
@FiftyCalReaper Wow, that's funny, considering I actually played more killer last season(to level them up obviously, and I am playing more survivor this season(to get out of hell and level them up). Maybe if you'd stop prejudging people and read up you'd realize I dislike balance in general. Moris are not balanced. You could argue a LOT of things in this game are unbalanced, but insta heals are nothing compared to a mori, and have a legitimate counter(1 shots). There's nothing more frustrating than trying to get out of hell(low ranks as solo survivor) and being hit with a depip simulator. In short, get your head out of the sand and realize that imbalance is a bad thing, and moris are nowhere near balanced. Before thinking Moris are fine, imagine a survivor offering where, if survivors did one generator, the hatch appeared and opened and they could all escape through it. This is what the survivor option of a mori would be. If you think that is imbalanced, then obviously moris are imbalanced. I don't want to see either, and I have suggested alternatives to moris(that were more fun for everyone even), but people rarely listen.
-
I personally think having 100% injured noise reduction should be put on it instead of 50%. Sure, it overlaps with Iron Will, but Iron Will doesn't have any downsides while No Mither has two very big ones.
-
@FishFry247 Insta heals are countered by insta downs. They're fine as far as items go, they also use up the med-kit. Moris are uncounterable and do not counter anything, except for the ability to play the game.
@ElusivePukka If you can stockpile them, then are they REALLY rare? Most things that are considered rare have like a 1%(or less) drop chance in games.
-
@FishFry247 This is mainly just to counter the arguments of people saying that moris are rare so they're fine. They're not fine and they're not rare when people have that many stocked up. I've heard of people having 50+ on one character, and seeing 3 on one bloodweb.
-
@LordGlint I forgot Urban made it the same speed as walking. I never really paid much attention as I don't use Urban. I used it like maybe twice. I guess it depends on the head thing then.
-
@LordGlint Yeah I know, I was saying that it'll depend if this or Fixated is faster movement. If Urban is faster, no real point in taking Fixated. If Fixated is faster, no real point in taking Urban(outside of maybe hiding your head while skirting around objects). They're kind of the same perk outside of the scratch mark thing. I suppose someone could take both perks, but would you really wanna take two faster movement perks for two different forms of slow movement?
-
@RamiSamii Yeah, it'll be a great beginner perk, but outside of SB users(I prefer Lithe), I can't see it being great for experienced users because most of us have known how to control scratch marks for a while.
@LordGlint It'd be nice if you could see ALL scratch marks honestly. You could be running right into someone else's and the killer just happens to be following those right to you, lol. I do agree though, but it depends on if Urban or this will be faster movement, and crouching sometimes is better for those situations when your head pops out.
-
@WTBacon Pig and GF are fine. Wraith is the problem, and it's not because of aura reading. Also, the only correct way to buff Alert would be to make it immune to undetectable, but the problem is there are even WORSE aura reading perks(Dark Sense for example). OoO is only so bad that it helps the killer and not the survivor running it because while you have a stealth killer who is undetectable, you can't see their aura, but obviously they will still be able to see yours because it works by showing your auras to each other. If you can't see their aura, and they can see yours, it makes it pointless because there's no upside to the perk. Why would anyone use a perk that could potentially not give them any benefit while still giving the killer the benefit?
-
Locker Dwight intensifies
-
@TheMythicalCat Except here's the thing, Alert can be countered by NOT kicking the gen and looking first. It's not even a great perk, and killers can find hiding survivors with aura reading, and most killers WANT survivors to hide instead of loop. So, we come down to this. Survivors whose job IS to hide, vs stealth killers whose job is to not be found. If you're kicking a gen, you're making noise. Honestly that's the same thing as if a survivor dropped a pallet far away from your or was fast vaulting it. Kicking a gen should reveal you with alert whether you're a stealth killer or not. At the very least, kicking a gen, or breaking a pallet, should break that stealth ability before doing so so that Alert still works. I wouldn't touch Alert if it had a 1/4 chance of use. I'd put Adrenaline on(I currently don't use it), and killers would get pissed.
As for saying that a perk is equal to a basic ability when that's literally all survivors have vs a killer who gets powers AND a perk is silly. Perks are meant to help you in a trial. If they don't work, or even have the potential to HELP THE KILLER AND NOT YOU(OoO in this case), what is the point of them existing? Perks should be brought to negate perks, not powers. That just makes some perks pointless, and that's what's happening with Alert. Guarantee you no one will use it hardly after this, considering it's already rare. You're just gonna see more of the same, which is not only boring, but sad. Also stealth killers again are pretty much the same as normal killers, the only difference is they can hide their TR+red stain. Hiding their TR is ALREADY good, but now they're getting immunity to aura reading? Sure, some stealth killers aren't quite as powerful as Pig or Ghostface, but it's not because of their stealth being weak. Oh and might I mention if someone kicked a gen RIGHT beside me, I should know. ESPECIALLY with a perk designed to give me the information of where they're headed. ALSO if I'm hiding, then obviously they're not sneaking up on me. Alert just keeps me from being found on my way BACK to the gen or trying to continue hiding from them. It doesn't keep them from sneaking up on me. This is the thing, people think "Oh well you're SUPPOSED to bump into me" but no, that's not a stealth killer's job. A stealth killer's job is not to randomly fumble upon a survivor. A stealth killer's job is to sneak up on the survivor without them knowing. If they already know, my cover was already blown as a stealth killer(and I play stealth killers). That is not countering a killer's power. That's the killer failing to use their power correctly and getting rewarded despite it. Alert simply prevents that from happening.
-
@TheMythicalCat That's literally the point of Alert, to know where the killer is when they're kicking a gen/breaking a pallet. Also, as Wraith, there's literally no difference from any other killer being seen by Alert. You know if they're coming before they come, or you know which direction they're going to avoid it. That's literally the point of the perk. Also the quote from Feng Min is kind of pointless as well with this change. She says "I have True Sight". True Sight is an ability in MOBAs that gives you complete visual knowledge of an opponent, meaning you reveal stealth as well. Twisted Fate in League of Legends is a prime example of True Sight. If for example a Vayne uses her ult, TF can use his ult to completely cancel her stealth.
@ad19970 I don't understand how people see the logic in "aura reading counters a killer's entire power!". First off, it alerts you to the location of a killer under specific circumstances. It doesn't reveal their terror radius or red stain. It also doesn't remove the secondary effects of their power. Pig can still dash, Wraith still gets a speed boost, GhostFace can still stalk, etc etc etc. How does seeing their aura counter their entire ability when those things still work? I see people say "entire power" all too often, but honestly the only thing it does is reveal their aura for a few seconds. It works the exact same way across all killers, and making certain killers immune, will again, render the perk useless because no one's gonna use a perk that has a 1/4 chance to be unable to work when they need it to. It already feels bad if you're playing against a Scratched Mirror Myers, but the chances of that happening are so low that the perk still will get use most of the time. Increasing the potential for it to NOT have a use, decreases the chances of that perk getting used significantly. Imagine if BBQ didn't have any bonus BP and wouldn't work if a Claudette was crouched. That's the logic of people saying Alert will still see use.
-
@TrueKn1ghtmar3 Well you and I probably differ in the fact that I like to hide right near the killer as he's kicking the gen on the other side of walls and he's looking all around trees/t-walls/etc. If I don't know which way he's going out of 2 possible ways, I could run straight into him without Alert when trying to avoid him. I'm constantly moving while trying to be stealthy, but the killer generally in my experiences has two potential ways to go with the possibility of me running directly into him. If I don't have alert, then when he kicks the gen I can't be sure I won't run right into him. I don't NEED Alert, but it's extremely helpful. It, Quick and Quiet, and Lithe are my stealth perks atm. Once I get Dance With Me it's going in the build too.
But back to the topic at hand. Most aura reading perks are completely terrible, for Survivors anyways. Alert and OoO are the only good ones, and as I'm sure you know, even Alert is not used that much. So why are we nerfing something that is not even that good as is? This is why I'm telling you guys it will NOT be used at all when this Undetectable crap comes out, because you're nerfing an already not amazing perk. They'll probably start bringing the most meta perks they can, making the game even more stagnant when it comes to survivor builds, and killers will start getting angry and wanting whatever they start bringing nerfed too, despite the nerf to aura reading being the cause of them bringing the more meta perks. I'll also add that no one will use OoO because there'll be literally no point. If you bring it against a stealth killer, he now knows where you are and you don't know where he is. It's basically a killer perk on a survivor.
-
@Tzeentchling9 No one is going to use Alert when Ghostface, who is NOT low tier and is used a decent amount of the time, will have undetectable. Pig isn't bad either. Alert is used so that you will know where NOT to go and be able to lose the killer. If you can't lose the killer 1/4 of the time(since there are 4/16 killers that will have this), why would you use it? It's just going to be replaced by something that's going to have the killer only players fussing. Also, need I remind you, most killers WANT survivors to have to hide. They want looping nerfed so that survivors will only be able to get away if they can hide from the killer. So what happens when survivors start losing stealthy perks AND looping is nerfed?
-
@Glory this is what I keep saying but everyone's all like "No no they'll still use them! They're still decent perks!". The thing is, they're not. If they have a chance to NOT work and they're just aura reading, they're not good perks. They're bad perks. I'm sure they said the same thing about the Self-Care nerfs when those happened, and look now. They're complaining because Survivors don't heal and rely on Adrenaline. Survivors will just find a perk that will be of benefit to them every game and start running it, and Alert will die. It wasn't used much as is, but it's one of my favorite perks. It's also used mainly to hide from the killer. So you're killing survivor stealth in favor of killer stealth.

@White_Owl That's likely because she's thinking of playing killer, and is a different issue altogether(BHVR's matchmaking). Camping when you first start the game is extremely excruciating as a solo survivor. All killers do this in brown and yellow ranks(or almost all), and all survivors in brown and yellow ranks do not know how to deal with it. Killers will stop camping when survivors stop making it work for the killers who do this. Eventually those killers rank up to a point where it's no longer viable, but survivors hardly rank up at all early on because of it, making getting accustomed to playing survivor harder. All they need is a tutorial for both killer and survivor telling them the most optimal way to play for the game to be more fun on the survivor side of things in the early ranks as well as the killer side of things in the later ones.

I'd settle for them to actually test things properly when they "fix" bugs. Usually fixing a bug brings several more. See: Sprint Burst Exploit fix.

@Orion Yes, it works in lower ranks when survivors don't know much about the game, but again there also needs to be a tutorial for survivors that tells them not to try unhooking if the killer is camping. This would solve the issue for both. Also new survivors DO fear the killer's presence. Why do you think they go to the corners of the map thinking it's a safe haven because the killers generally don't look for them there and stick their face in trees, and barely move?

The reason it will run players away will be the new players themselves. New killers are the ones who camp the most, and as a survivor it is severely discouraging. Only people who will continue playing survivor will be people who have nerves of steel as always. Behavior needs to teach new players that camping isn't a very viable strategy via a tutorial or something, so that newer players are encouraged to look for others after their first hook. This would lead more people to enjoying survivor and the game actually keeping more players who are willing to play survivor through the pain of early ranks as well as teaching killers that they'll end up better off not camping. I can't handle being a survivor in anything below green ranks, because it's riddled with campers(and even in green ranks it occurs, but it's much less often than yellow or brown).

Um...I'm not sure where you got this idea, because I blame survivors for doing stupid ######### all the time, and people literally call out other survivors when they farm them, so this just feels like an us vs them post, because it does happen, and it feels like you're just ignoring it.

@Exerlin But Jane gives 5% to allies, plus his own passive, that would be 10%. And I agree, yeah, I'd love to get something like that. Most of the strong perks are used together, and that would remove the ability to chain them all together. It'd also open up a lot of weaker perks for use.
