What does splitting hooks and cheesing their victories mean?
Cheese your victory is going for the most ez effortless way to win.
Split hooks is basically not tunneling and distribute the hooks.

Red ranks are not ranks, they are a mindset. Expect the same thing you might except on your next trip to the bathroom after gorging on Taco Bell for 2 days straight. As Terry Tate the office linebacker put it: "Get ready for the pain train, boy....pain train is coming....woo, woo!!"
I just wished there would be a casual mode.... I mean....this game is really unbalanced itself (too much diff on killers, addons, SWF or Solo, maps RNG). At the end I think it´s the players who have to "balance" artificially the game. U can easily gen rush a Bubba or a piggy, but as survivor u must gen rush a spirit or nurse if u wanna have a little chance. Also, sometimes more effective play as surv is let someone die on hook. But that sucks as survivor, and I won´t do it.
-
@ThiccBudhha said:
I do not really think anyone gets to red ranks casually. Probably just play casual until you get to a rank where you can play casual?
I don´t play tryhard, trust me. Not toolbox, not keys, not prove thyselfs, not selfish scapes (I always try rescue), and I don´t gen rush if killer is playing fair. My rank is 4-6. If killer is hard tunneling intentionally I´ll bodyblock and If I can´t evade it I´ll just step in killers face pointing him with the finger till he kills me. These guys don´t doubt usually and take the offer and claim his victory after that. I don´t care win or lose neither the ranks. Just want funny games.

@DocFabron said:
It would split the playerbase up too much. If you hate tunneling, run DS. It does its job real well!
I do always run DS. But I can´t apply ds to my teammates. When a killer is up for tunnel, he will ignore bodyblocks and wait for BT expire.
Tunnel is the most absurd and effective strat on solo Q.

You are not good at killer for getting 4ks this way especially against solo survivors.
Thank you for listening to my psa.
Play vs IA: 100 % win rate. Ez dirty victories. Just like they like it so they can feel like big winners. CHAMPIONS!!
-
They don´t matter about Solo Q. Im red ranks you almost only see sweat tryhard killers with meta perks going for camp tunnel strat. And then killers complaint because they have difficulties dealing with good SWF and can´t abuse them like on Solo Q. It´s ridiculous.

As a survivor main, let me say on behalf of the whole survivor side of the community, thank you for being considerate. Sadly, as many have said, your efforts are not usually recognized, and whether you choose to let that stop you or not is up to you.
I don't usually expect killers to be nice, because hey, they want to have fun and get points too. I get that. It is what it is. And I also get all the other killer mains here expressing that they don't want to be nice. Why should they when all they get is teabags and flashlight clicking and general BM in return?
But thank you for trying. Thank you for choosing to be nice at times even when it's not reciprocated, and even when almost no one else feels the same way. This community definitely needs more people like you.
Amen!

That is because you don't understand what you are doing. DH, if used properly allows for the correction of mistakes that would otherwise down you. IF you are using it before the killer hits you, you are using it incorrectly. Use it to get to loops, or windows with plans in mind, either as a extension or as a correction for your mistake. If u had readed my message correctly, u would know I use it for accessing loops, as you are suggesting me. Besides that, u are arbitratily interpreting how dead hard should be used.
But....let´s read perk description:
Activate-able Perk.
You can take a beating.
When Injured, tap into your adrenaline bank and dash forward quickly to avoid damage.
- Press the Active Ability button while running to dash forward.
- Avoid any damage during the Dash.
Sometimes u use it long before the killer attack, and still get the hit. Sometimes u get hit even on the animation. Sometimes it appear the icon on the hud but the animation doesn´t start. So yes. Dead Hard sometimes is a lottery.
-
I use it for reaching pallets or structures mainly. But it doesn´t mean sometimes you need try evade a hit. Annnnd.....it´s not a reliable perk. If u play dead hard u should know.
Sometimes u use it long before the killer attack, and still get the hit. Sometimes u get hit even on the animation. Sometimes it appear the icon on the hud but the animation doesn´t start.
Dead hard is very good, but probably the most unreliable perk.

Dead hard doesn´t even work fine. Is problematic because playing dead hard is playing lottery.
Why would u like to nerf a perk u cant really rely on?

Yes. And nerf the spirit propperly, non dependable on a perk.

ive honestly never seen survivors giving the killer a kill or being nice on purpose but yet somehow a killer is expected to be that way. ive had multiple matches that i couldve easily won but i gave survivors another chance. well they mostly end up with the survs tbagging at the exit gate and giving the typical gg ez in the endgame chat. Its baffling to me how the "Killer" has to be the nice person while survs can do what they want.
That´s true. Survs won´t give a sacrifice to a killer if he has played fair and nice. As much, they´ll give him their item.
You gave me an idea: next time I find one of these nice killer, I´ll sacrifice myself in exchange.

Now I'm not talking going head-over-heels for Survivors and using every moment as a chance to help them, but just show some friendliness where you see a scenario ripe for the picking. Just last game as Ghostface I had someone getting me to force-hook them (which I prefer over them DCing) and then I had two of their teammates down only about a minute and a half later after I stalked them both on shack gen... so I closed hatch (didn't want to have the game ending super quickly), messed around a bit, and then committed to the usual non-stalk chase. After downing them, I didn't hook them. As you may have suspected, I carried them halfway across the map to a gate. They stopped wiggling once I walked straight past two hooks, and then I let 'em get the gate.
Now, I know plenty of us do this already, but you're not sacrificing much by letting a person go or not always playing for kills. I literally spent five minutes of that game just messing around. That's what some people need to get; this is a game, and you should have fun. Now whether or not you classify being nice to Survivors as linked to that fun or detrimental to it, you cannot deny that having nice Survivors makes you happy when you get them. So, just return the favour every once and a while if you don't already.
It isn't too hard to ask. Majority of us do play for fun, after all.
Also, I can see these comments igniting with loathing for my cause and just otherwise brimming with non-related discussions, so, please, as per the forums rules... keep it civil and respectful. I appreciate it. :)
I´m main surv red rank. I don´t play much killer. I just play huntress when i just wanna chill a bit.
I try to apply much pressure at beggining and keep them away from gens with ruin and corrupt intervention.
When I grab a surv with no more hooks, I just stare at him and go away. Or pick him up and fake the hook throwing him to the floor again. Eventually the game becomes a "friendly match". But never from the beggining. Have to say when i let them scape, a very few of them have stayed in the map as sacrifice, which is a very nice non demanded gesture.
If any of them has done excessively t-bag or being toxic, I´ll take him to the hook and M1 till death while saying yes with head of course.
I know I´m not playing propperly the killer. But as I said, I just play for fun and I don´t care get kills or promote ranks.
-
Chases, bodyblocks, loops, flashlight saves, difficult unhooks, pallet stuns, decissive strike... and when dead hard works.
Relatively to killers, if I´m not against Spirit I won´t complaint. Overall I like Bubbas.
-
If I have nothing in hand I will take a vaccine if I'm near a box. Unless there are few and teammates are infected.
It's useful because u don't have to waste time going for a vaccine when needed. U also can use it on teammates
-
Yes. If killer is being hardly outplayed, and he is not trying camping / tunneling , i start play worse and take more risks. Totems and chests also.
-
Because Solo Q is hell. Sucks. And tunnel and camping wins matches easily. Not all the killers do it but many of them.
-
I don´t like this change neither. So the only counter to Spirit is dependable on Iron Will? I don´t see the sense.
-
I think survivors are quite altruistic. Most of us gladly die to save some of our partners. Most people commenting here agree on that.
It's the main objective and not at the same time. If game is fair and funny, I don't give much importance to scape or die.

Zombies can be totally useless or they camp gens with ruin active. It's totally random but very funny.
I remember one game at EGC where my teammates unhook me with BT and Nemesis and a Zombie coming to me blocking my way to the exit gate. Zombie bites me removing the BT and instantly Nemesis knock me out with a punch. What a combo, man! Killer should had enjoyed it so much...

They don't need it because you have 4 perks to use. If you can't adjust your build when playing Solo. Then tell me why would the devs consider it? Wanna be as strong as a SwF? Play as a SwF. Wanna play Solo? Accept the disadvantage and adjust your build to suit the situation.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2333880#Comment_2333880
Because you want free information for nothing. Because SwF has something you don't. You don't want to run a build to fix your disadvantage and would rather just be given free stuff. Your just saying you don't have something someone else does.
Its been the same circle of arguments for years. Use a build to help yourself. Its what they are for. Want to run a meta build? Well accept that you lose information.
Sorry I don´t understand your logic. Idk if u are trying to be funny, or it´s me that I´m very stupid or u are very smart.
I´m not talking you back more. I don´t see the sense. Bye,

If Solos are buffed and it's not accompanied by blanket nerfs to survivors or a blanket buff to the non-meta killers, there just won't be a killer population. SWF isn't fun to go against, and if Solos are buffed to that level, there's little fun to be had in the killer role, so only masochists will play it.
Both of them. Buff solos and buff non meta killers.
Nowadays u can´t buff non meta killers without destroying even more Solo Q. Because non meta killers can work on solo.

I do actually. I also use BT as a staple for Solo and SwF. I also use Kindred quite a lot depending on my mood. I don't really use bond because logic says someone's gonna be at a gen. I also don't use small game due to how much I've played DBD. Totems are not really that hard to deal with.
If your biggest counter argument is do I play survivor. Then imma just laugh because you got nothing to contribute, but baseless claims at which point your reaching to hopefully validate yourself.
Also yes they are, but if you can't comprehend you need different builds for Solo and SwF than my friend the problem isn't the game its you not understanding the situation.
If i have to wear kindred, small game and bond to have even less information than SWF have for free and better, it´s obvius Solo player is in clear disadvantage.
I sincerely don´t know what is your point or what you arguing about. Maybe u are just arguing and writting with no other intention???

Imagine actually needing perks as a survivor. It's not like its hard to add Kindred into a build. Its a good perk SwF or Solo. If you can't adjust the build for the situation. The problem is you not the perk.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2328320#Comment_2328320
The Devs thankfully already mentioned they would never do comms in game. Also those perks don't need to be base kit. You should figure put how to adjust builds for the situation.
Imagine Solo Q players wearing kindred, BT, Small game and Bond.
But, hey.....On SWF: Unbreakable, Ds, Soul Guardian, Sprint Burst, prove thyself...
Can´t u see Solo Q and SWF are literally different games? Do u play survivor??

@tippy2k2 said:
Even if you're not Seal Team SWF, the ability to say "Killer is chasing me" is worth it's weight in gold.
If I know the killer is chasing survivor A, I can hammer the hell out of these gens and know I am completely safe. If Survivor A was working on a gen just about to pop, I know I'm safe to finish it. If I find their Undying Ruin, I know I'm safe to work it as the killer is occupied and therefore unlikely to notice me breaking their totem (and if they do, the chased can warm me).
It doesn't take a Seal Team SWF to give SWF a HUGE advantage and it's absolutely baffling how so many survivors just somehow don't understand that.
Ultimately the biggest issue becomes what to do about it. Get rid of SWF and the game dies. You could add comms but I have zero desire to listen to some kid screeching COME SAVE ME!!!!!! 2 seconds into their hooking. Could add basic communication things like "I'm being chased" or whatnot but that feels like it would drastically change the game for the worse (I like this game BECAUSE I think the lack of communication is what makes it great).
So...IDK :D
As there is no real way to eliiminate Comms and SWF will use it, everybody should have it. People in torunaments also use communications.
Chat voice could be very streesing and intense. We also see people struggling in hook since first second. Imagine if that guy is able to scream u...No thank u.
Voice commands on the other hand are the better option: "killer chasing me", "como to rescue, X", "gen almost done here"....that stuff.

You were just told by the OP that he performed much better playing SWF and I experience that too, when plating SWF. Did his skill magically improve when he started playing SWF? Solo sucks not because solo survivors suck, many killers such just as much, it's because in SWF you are working as a team, it's called synergy. It's not about the skill, it's about the balance and SWF+comms surely shifts that balance by a lot.
Exactly.
-
@Johnny_XMan said:
Or imagine if you played with those same people without comms. My guess is you would have done ok too.
Solo Q doesn’t suck because of the lack of communication it is their lack of skill, their lack of making conscious decisions like when to get someone off the hook or heal with self care in the corner of the map etc. Those are things that no amount of communication is going to fix. I have brought Kindred so many times only to watch my teammates crouch the moment they heard a heartbeat and step into a locker to hide. They do not understand the concept of being proactive during a match.
Also, I notice you mention that you get tunneled and camped, just because you experience that in SoloQ doesn’t mean you aren’t going to in SWF, and that also isn’t your teammates’ fault. It’s a killer choosing to do so.
Map Information is related to performance inevitably. And best deccision making. So yes...communications are very good.
Killers can tunnel and camp also with SWF. But.... SWF can handle better with this tactic doing more efficient rescues or repairs. Whts is more....there were games where killers were being abused. And honestly, If Huntress wouldn´t have gained pressure proxy camping, she wouldn´t have had any chance.
-
And btw.... we found 3 facecampers: blight, huntress and a Insidious Bubba. We managed to rescue only vs Huntress.
Nothing to do with Bubba´s bassement or Blight. So in these 2 cases we repaired and left. What I mean is that these games on Solo Q tend to be 4k as solo players usually are altruistic and don´t have enough information for optimal deccision maklng.

No one EVER treats me like i want?
Since the event started it feels like i have absolutly NO CHANCE of getting more than 1 kill if i dont play my Nurse or one of my other Mains. Even then the game is extremly hard since the event started.
So i am still trying to get my adepts again on some killers like Pig.
For the love of everything, i CANT play pig. I just cant.
But when i played her, and tried countless of times to get the adept, i always played nice.
I never tunneled, always TRIED to went for the rescuer (Damn unhooked guys of course tried again to bodyblock me with BT and DS, its so annoying) and they still tbagged and taunted me at every single possibility.
Every. Single. Match.
And its ALWAYS like that.
Maybe 1 match out of 100 i get survivors who play nice without being toxic at every situation.
So i am asking.. Is it still worth it being nice to them? Should i just stop and tunnel and camp the ######### out of them? Should i tbag as ghostface while they bleed out?
I honestly dont think its worth it being nice anymore, when everything you get is toxic anyway.
It´s a fair question what you are doing. A dilemma.
As Solo Q player, I´d say that I really appreciate when a killer is not intentionally tunneling and proxycamping. I don´t do t-bag and say "gg wp" or "thanks for not tunnel". As you say, there are times when 1 teammate just farm you in killers face and is nice when killer ignores u and goes for rescuer.
But, if you are playing vs SWF they probably will play tricky with those perks u said.
I remember 1 game playing huntress where i was demolishing survivors. I softed my game and take bad deccisions on purpose as I´m a compassive killer. 3 or 4 scaped. Did they say "gg" or thanks? Nope. 1 of them did t-bag and wrote EZ on end game chat.
-
I´m very tired of tryhard spirits on Solo Q. Last game even she proxy-camped and tunneled.
I won´t play more against Spirits. I´ll just chase her and suicide on hook, or dc if she slugs me. I´m rank 4 but I don´t mind go to rank 20. I´m so tired of this hell of solo Q where u can´t handle these abusive tryharders.
Spirit players want 4k with no ability, right? I´m just accelerating the process.

"Spirit requires no skill." "How dare you bring up skilled survivors beating Spirit." Do you not see how you're contradicting yourself? Heck, ban SWF because killers under 100 hours can't deal with high gen efficiency.
Spirir requires not skill. Nurse at least takes big effort to learn to play her. And although she is very strong she doen´t fit so good in all the maps.
Same with Blight.
Spirit is just abusive. She can deal the best SWF. Imgaine what she does on Solo Q.

I’m discussing purely red rank gameplay, where the skill of the spirit will hardly have an impact. I don’t know anything about competitive, totally irrelevant and taking the game to a much higher level than a casual red rank game
And you are not wrong. Spirit is above any other killer in the game by far. I see competitive. And if there is no restriction on killer pick, spirit is option number 1. She performs amazing on every map. You can´t gain distance with exhaustion perk as she is The Flash and u barely can loop her as you have no idea where she is.

I think Stats are an incredibly unreliable way to balance things. If she had a less than 50% killrate, I would listen to the stats, but if a large percentage of the player-base also found her incredibly unfun, I'd change her. Both balance and player enjoyment are important.
Are you suggesting her killrate is less than or equal to 50? Because I highly doubt that.
He must mean that she only gets 32k BP with 4K 50% of the times.Spirit Kill rate= 50 %. Haha. Nice one.
Do you see anything but Spirit on tournaments? Only nurses and blights can approach to her. But depending on the map. That ######### must be above 70% Kill rate.

So yeah have a fun,Spirit here to stay, Huntress with her extremely huge hitboxes, and Wraith brainless solo slaughter machine
Wraith with inmortal and ruin is as you say a brainless salughter machine. Huntress at least is pretty fair as she has no movility.

Yep. Sometimes totems can be hard to find on some maps. If it spaws in the middle of the hey field at coolwind is practically invisible. Or at big maps like The game.
But I don´t see the point of using small game at solo Q. Maybe you spawn very far from totems and your teammates are closer.

There's literally a quote by @Almo in the loading screens that says solos will be pleased by the fact they gave them a way to track the number of remaining totems with Small Game. You know, the chief of the balance team.
That's what BHVR thinks of a solo buff. And that's how disconnected they are from the players.
For the next solo buff, see you in 5 years for the 10th anniversary.
Hahahaha. It´s the first time I heard about him. He is main clown in public games i guess, otherwise i don´t see his point.
Chief of balance team lmfao. Next message into the screen loader in 5 years will be like: "Solo Q have talked and we have listened. No mitther free base kit for everyone. Enjoy"
