Mostly because each individual Legion member would have to be drastically scaled down in terms of power to make it fair. And maybe even then, you'd have enough killer's to chase every single survivor at the same time. Making gen progression impossible unless there was some massive downside for the people playing Legion. Which, in turn, would make playing them not as fun anyway.

You would have to do the same thing to bots too though

  • @C3Tooth said:

Sadly the game designed to be 1v4. No matter how weak a Killer lore is, the number of Killer will always be 1.

UNLESS they able to create an AI to control another Legion that able to chase Survivor (tend to be stupid though), which players able to switch control between 2 Legion. That would be perfect.

Though I think their basic attack (or frenzy attack) should cause deep wound, and with each attack cause 1/3 deep wound bar drop (which 4 hits total to down a healthy Survivor; or 3 hits to down an Injured Survivor)

Why cant it be 4v4? Its crazy but still better than bots.

  • I was going to agree because title, but then OP just floated away lol

Ok, so, STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT RANKING SYSTEM

Because its not working and devs know it and they are going to delete it. They say that they are going to make a new ranking system instead, but who knows. So no use complaining, its going to be trashed soon anyways.

Can we please remove it? It serves no purpose but to ######### up killer swings and make the game harder for them then it already is beyond just that. Its been admitted its in the game, and I don't see what purpose it serves to be honest? So whats the big deal with changing it so killers just use their own reflexes and accuracy to make swings that hit?

    No,no,no, it serves it purpose.

The purpose of Aim Dressing is:

Hide the fact that hitboxes are awful and dont match player character at all. It makes you think that hitboxes in DBD are good and all bad hits are caused by latency, and not the fact that hitbox has 2 times bigger volume than player model, and that it doesnt match even less when healing or being injured.

Or it's because it's a bug and because theres 1000s of streamers for DBD it's bound to show up on a couple of them, I don't think these guys are "summoning" streamers.

But its not one bug. Its 2 bugs at the same time. First, server thinks you are a killer and lets you get matched, second, you connected to a wrong server/ connected with a wrong identification.

First bug is very rare and is almost always caused by someone intentionally triggering it, and the second is something I have never heard of before, I thought that it can be done only intentionally

Dedicated servers are needed for monitoring stats, cheating, etc

P2P as used before can handle movement and reduces lag

Easy to say but this isn't what we have

Stats can be send to a server at any time, just like shop data, you dont need it in a game.

Also, monitoring CHEATING? Im afraid we dont have such thing.

Both p2p and servers have pros and cons, I think we should start by fixing hitboxes and removing aim dressimg, then we can see just much bullshit hits is REALLY caused by lags.

No, you're not understanding at all, the PS4 players took screenshots of Scott in their lobby because they were confused as heck.

Also the whole "it happening to big streamers" is malarkey, setting up a glitch and just luckily getting those streamers would be incredibly hard, it's just coincidental.

    https://twitter.com/ScottJund/status/1232540889513328640

    Yeah, thats what I said

There is a glitch that lets 5 surviviors or 2/3 killers join one lobby.

The weird part is that it was the streamer that got "summoned" from PC to PS4. It kind of impossible for these bugs to happen at the same time, the only explanation is that someone exploited it.

I dont know how exactly matchmaking works, but I guess its possible to have a streamer join a wrong lobby, with a wrong ID...

The Deathslinger is the last killer of this years roadmap, ultimately there's likely to be a big "Year 5 Roadmap", there's usually significant announcements coming during that time, and I'm certain one will be Crossplay/Crossplatform.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1129136#Comment_1129136

There was no tricking involved, someone who knew Scott took screenshots because they were confused as to why he was there, he had the "Crossplay Planet" symbol next to his name, and it was HIM accidentally joining them making it a 5 man survivor lobby.

So it was 5 surviviors and no killer?

If thats the case, then one of the surviviors used the glitch (2 killers glitch) to get the 5th survivior into the lobby instead of the killer.

This would explain why this glitch happened so often to big streamers, looks like there is a way to manually connect with a desired player. Platform obviously doesnt matter, because as I said before, servers have no verification.

Or the servers finally got busted and now we have everyone getting matched with everyone

Nothing? Survivors are injured. They need to mend witch wastes them 12 seconds and then they need to heal. If they decide not to then:

    -They are easier to track

-They are down in one hit in any point of the game

I mean, what more do you expect if someone stays injured? To have slower gen repair speed? How does billy benefit if the people stay injured? Maybe you shloud make a thrad about him then.

Legion doesnt have enough power or mobility to benefit from surviviors being injured.

Billy can use sprint as mobility tool and then M1, to immediately catch surviviors in deadzones, to break pallets, etc. Plague has corrupt purge that will destroy injured surviviors. Legion cant use his power for that because of the 4 second cooldown.

PC players aren't all gaming gods. When Dark Souls dropped on PC the first time, they immediately invented the term artificial difficulty because the majority of them were such scrubs.

DBD is more about positioning than anything else.

Bruh, but dont compare DS to DBD, DS is way better on a controller, in DBD killer is better on mouse and keyboard

  • Who said it works as intended?

    Even devs said it doesnt

Legion doesn't need a rework! I love playing this killer the way he is (at this point im gonna say i do play at red ranks before anyone says im probably like rank 15 and my opinion doesnt count) Applying deepwound to more than 2 survs is really enjoyabke and satysfying. After putting some time into this killer i really do think he's fine. You will know when it's worth trying to catch up certain surv with FF and when to chase someone who you have just hit with FF. Very good thing about Legion is that hes short, witch really helps in mindgames more than you think (where mindgames are a big part of this game). Often survs dont heal making hook rescues very hard for them, resulting in hook trades. I really don't know why ppl think he's unplayble. Maybe they are using a bad perk setup? Then i will recomend mine.

    Corrupt intervention

Absolutely nessesary. Prevents 2 gens poping within 2 mins into the game. Corrupt make survs be closer to each other with benefits Legions power.

    Spirit Fury & Enduring

I run this combo because you never respect pallets. Often survs are too greedy with allows you get a free hit. Sometimes when you have you spirit fury active and a surv is runing to a pallet and you know you will get a hit for sure. Wait till surv will get to the pallet (but not close enough to allow him to drop it) hit them, and they may stun you witch will result in downing them almost immediately

The last perk is your choise. If youre starting to learn i would recommend NOED for obvious reasons. If you are more experienced. Pop goes the weasel is perfect choise.

"Applying deepwound to more than 2 survs is really enjoyabke and satysfying."

Exactly! But my point is that even if you get 28 HITS DURING ONE FRENZY, you still get absolutely NOTHING. You still get 4 second stun, surviviors can still mend, they can stil do gens, your downing potential doesnt increase at all.

The change ideas I came up with are based on a fact that Legion is fun against multiple surviviors, and that shouldnt change. All they do is increase the reward that Legion gets for REALLY SKILLFULL PLAYS.

Because currently Legion has a very low effectiveness even at high skill. Very good Clown can end chases quicker by throwing very good bottles and disabling loops, very good Legion can get 28 hits in one frenzy amd gets nothing from it.

  • @KingOfBadRNG said:

First this isn't really a rework it's more like a revert back to old legion which I'm ok with.

Second this forum will probably be placed into another category since it not part of general discussion range.

    1. Well its not reverting back, ots quite different and cant be abised in 1v1, it also requires you to hit ALL 4 SURVIVIORS IN ONE FRENZY. If they mend, you will need even more hits.
    2. No, this post is mainly about "why Legion should get a rework" my ideas are just an addition. I even put the "full rework idea" in the comment, because its not the most important thing.
    1. Nice witch hunting
    2. Its not a hack, its a glitch
    3. The killer let you go and you were still selfcaring and hatch camping lol

While I don't disagree that it's an issue. What do you want the devs to do? Removing swf is not an option at this point. They can't control voice coms. They could add voice coms to the game. But I think the majority of players would refuse to use it.

There are ways to balance it without removing it. Devs just dont want to at all, and they pretend that the issue doesnt exist.

  • 4.LEGION REWORK IDEA

    • On Feral Frenzy hit give a Frenzy token to a hit survivior.
    • Hitting anoher survivior with FF will apply another token to every survivior that already has a token.
    • Leaving FF in any way will erase all tokens.
    • Mending will erase all tokens applied to that survivior
    • Once survivior reaches 4 TOKENS he will SCREAM and will be applied "Deep Deep Wound" status effect (temporary name)
    • When a survivior who has "DDW" status effect gets hit with Feral Frenzy attack, HE WILL BE PUT IN A DYING STATE.

    EXPLANATION:

    1. Scenario 1, no one mends: You hit survivior A with FF. Nothing visible happens, but token is applied. Without leaving FF you find and hit survivior B. Now A has 2 tokens, B has 1. Then the same way you hit survivior C. Now its A:3, B:2, C:1. Then you hit survivior D. So now its A:4 B:3, C:2, D:1. Survivior A screams. You find and hit him with FF. Survivior A is now downed. Now B has reached 4 tokens. It repeats until everyone is downed. OMG SO OP. Please read point 2.
    2. Scenario 2, SOMEONE mends: You hit survivior A, go for, B, C, D, BUT in the meantime, survivior A mends. So now its A:0, B:3, C:2, D:1. So now, to apply DDW, you HAVE to find survivior A AGAIN. Once you find him, its A1, B4, C3, D1. Everything repeats, BUT the whole OP cycle is paused once someone mends, and is completely destroyed if Legion runs out of Frenzy.
    3. So, how do you counter this OP #########? 1. Spread out. If Legion cant get 4 hits, then nothing happens. 2. Mend and run away. Buys you time to run away like in 1. 3. Stun the Legion. Simple as that.

  • @MiniPixels said:

What your experiencing is something that every survivor does if someone in the game has a poor connection, whether it be the killer or you, it's caused by latency, on the killers screen he is hitting you before you vault the window, or mid vault, since all hits are detected through the killer side, this counts as a hit even though it may look like your too far on your screen. This is a problem with every multiplayer game but it's more noticable in DbD due to how close hits can be. The devs are aware of the issue and recently stated that they are making progress in reducing this delay.

"This is a problem with every multiplayer game but it's more noticable in DbD due to how close hits can be."

"Close hits" ekhem, what if, its actually the hitboxes? You know, hitbox being bigger than the survivior MIGHT be a problem...

Ok, now I will seriously give you secret knowledge: hitboxes are so bad that devs had to make "aim dressing" just so hits dont look that bad... When hits do look bad then it means bad latency + aim dressing failed to hide the hitbox cause of latency. So in the end "its worse in DBD" precisely because hitboxes are so bad

    "How bad" are these hitboxes?

    THIS bad:

They do it because they're bad.

And then Killers complain about Survivors adapting to those "strategies" by (pretty much having to) using perks like Unbreakable, DS, BT etc. to stand a chance and want it nerfed.

At this point i'm convinced Killer mains want survivors to start in dying state or on the hook.

Your comment was completely invalidated the moment you said that "you have to use DS". You know that DS is the cause of most cases of tunneling? If you played killer then you would know that tje only counter to DS is tunneling early game on purpose. And no, "jUsT dOnT tUnNeL" doesnt work.

  • Killer reach is not too far, what you describe is caused by bad hitboxes and latency problems. Also the hit detection system

It reeeeeally sucks but I only assume it has SOMETHING to do with dedicated servers and how the killer sees it.

First DS doesn't encourage bad behaviour, discourages tunneling, and yes, I am aware some people doesn't use it like it's supposed to work

Second the devs have stated that they are aware of the DS problem and will look into it.

    1. DS encourages bad behaviour (staying near hook after being unhooked)
    2. DS ENCOURAGES TUNNELING. Most of the killers will tunnel to dosable DS early of they see an obsession

DS is the dumbest perk in DBD right now, even NOED is very slightly better

  • @Fibijean said:

Honestly, they're probably not going to give out any more data, at least not in the near future. In the past, people have either ignored the stats, or tried to use them to promote a certain narrative, either about game balance or about the developers or about another player. The kill rate stats are most infamous for this. Arguments around statistics became just a constant stream of "well the stats say this so you're wrong" and "no they don't, you just don't know how to read statistics". It didn't lead to anything productive.

Basically, most of what the stats did was cause contention and confusion. They didn't help people understand things better, they just made them angry because they thought they knew more about what was going on than they actually did. If you've ever heard the expression "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing", that's basically what I'm talking about.

Just to be clear, I would also love to see more stats just for curiosity's sake. I'm just saying don't expect it to happen, because past experiences have made the devs very reluctant to release any more data publicly, and I don't believe there are any plans to do so currently.

Just release these stats more often.

Its IMPOSSIBLE to not have such outrage, if you release something like killrates ONCE.

Just add these stats to web api or archievement system, how many people even check dbd.onteh.net.au for stats. Most of these people who shout the most would stop caring if the stats were released all the tike and people stopped paying attention to them. Or if they had to process the data themselves.

  • @Peanits said:

"The minimal amount of time that it would take to frequently do so would allow for consistent feedback, design ideas for underutilized perks, and promote actual discussion (backed by data) regarding problem areas that people are using perks to 'band-aid.'"

This is the idea behind releasing stats, and I absolutely agree with you, and this is why we've tried releasing stats in the past. However, each time it just ends up in a mess. Rather than sparking interesting discussions, they more often or not end up being scrutinized with questions about their validity when the numbers don't match someone's personal experiences. It's an onslaught of, "Does this count? Are you excluding that?", or conclusions being drawn based off of very broad numbers (averages), and it frankly just causes more confusion than it helps.

In a perfect world, I would love to release stats on a regular basis, but it's hard to justify when releasing them only causes more harm than good.

You have to expect such reaction if you release stats this rarely. If it was common occurrence, then people would stop caring about it or they would just accept it. You have to give detailed descriptions explaining all the rules (what is included and what is not) and keep it constant over all updates.

So IMO, it wouldnt cause so much outrage if it was released regularly (monthly or weekly, or at least every update)

Maybe you could release only raw data, and leave processing to the players. People who shout the most probably wouldnt be intelligent enough to do it themselves, so it would also reduce unconstructive feedback

  • @underlord99 said:

They dont like to release statistics because people like to base their full opinion on them. furthermore they do not make changes just on stats, there is always an outside source that effects their choices. Think back to when they released the kill rates late last year, people were and still are making false assumptions via the stats. even though the devs have stated that the stats are flawed and that they count people bleeding to death as well as hook suicide in the killrates.

If people can counter it to get rid of it what's the point of the nerf... people will still eat it early to get rid of it.

People will not eat it early if they dont have to...

It wastes you time and its innefficient. You eat it early so you dont get some bullshit like getting DSed by a guy who was finishing the last gen for 40 seconds (50%). If that were gone then most would not bother.

And if they do, then its their loss, they wasted their time. Timer paused while in chase will make sure the killer will get DSed if they really try to tunnel you

  • Why not?

There is no reason why its a bad idea

Other than being a ######### ######### to your teammates and suiciding on hook. Or being a ######### ######### to your opponent and suiciding on hook to open hatch. If thats the case then its the same as DCing, so it should be changed even more so.

I think the OP already took this into account.

It has a 46% chance of being used by at least one Survivor.

    No he did not:

"[I] wrote down the perks of 100 red rank survivors I got matched with."

Also, 2 DSes per game makes perfect sense.

  • Oh My God

I hope this is a joke.

I hope that @Peanits knows how math works...

80% Killers in red ranks used Ruin.

So Ruin was being used in 80% of all red rank matches.

~46% Surviviors in red ranks use DS

So DS is being used in around 46%... OH WAIT, THERE ARE 4 SURVIVIORS IN EACH GAME

So whats the probabiloty that DS will appear in a red rank game?

    (1-(0.54)^4)×100%=

    (1-0.8503056)×100%=

    0.91496944×100%=

    91.496944%

If you dont believe my math skills then here is a calculator:

    Screenshot_2020-02-27-18-05-10-665_org.mozilla.firefox.png

PROBABLILITY OF DECISIVE STRIKE APPEARING IN A RED RANK GAME IS ~91.5%

This sounds like more than 80% lmao, even if its statistics and not reality...

Some of your points work, but what if someone gets unhooked, while the killer hooks someone, has bbq (lets be honest it’s expected) and goes right for the survivor that just got unhooked, maybe even a killer with mobility, and the other survivor gets unhooked as the killer gets to them

or a survivor gets tunneled straight off hook, and there’s a bear trap set nearby before they got hooked so they didn’t know about it

    1. You need to coordinate unhooks. If there are multiple surviviors unhooked at the same time, then killer should be able catch some of them, you cant expect killer to let everyone go. Not to mention that it can lead to bullshit situations. That rule was created to ensure that multiple DSes cant be active at the same time, because its impossible to tunnel more than person at the same time.
    2. Thats the point of the Bear Trap. Catching surviviors that are unaware of them. The thing is, that Trapper has no control over who an when will get caught in his trap, so its never tunneling. Basically if a person with DS active gets caught in your trap, you waste a lot of time just to find out that they have DS... And getting caught in a Bear Trap is always surviviors fault (except bugs). If you dont want to get caught after getting unhooked, then follow THE SAME path that killer used to leave the hook or the one that rescuer used to get to you. And look at the ground.

It would be a bad idea to have it paused during a chase because if that survivor is a really good looper then he could have the killer in a chase for more than a minute only for the killer to be ds'd in the end. Makes more sense to have the timer pause when the survivor is downed because that way it counters what it is suppose to which is being tunneled and downed right off hook. Only if the timer is made a lot shorter.

I would add another condition: ds is completely deactivated once all gens are repaired or the hatch is closed. This way you dont get a free escape at the end.

But did you see the deactivation conditions?

The only way you could get in a chase with a DS user is if you tunneled them, because otherwise it would deactivate.

So yes, if you tunnel good looper then you still deserve to get DSed

Timer paused while slugged is a terrible idea, bacaise surviviors would just rush for unsafe unhooks without BT without fear of killer downing them both.

Before I continue, let me preface this with "I'm a killer main" but I also play Survivor and I have been a fair amount recently.

Anyway. Recently, I have gotten into 3 games, back to back with The Oni. Now the way to beat the Oni is to gen rush him, don't both healing. However, personally, I feel that the Oni should be nerfed in many a capacity

For a start, he can whip around corners with his demon dash, who came up with that and why? With the Billy, it's a tad different, you have a chance to miss but with the Oni, it's near impossible to miss. Especially around trucks etc.

and lastly but certainly not least. He gains blood fury ridiculously quick, I get the idea of the power but my god, he can go from Blood Fury to Demon Dash to Downed Survivor to Hooked Survivor and back to Blood Fury again within easily 1-2 minutes if he's efficient. Why?

    Please, nerf him.

Also, off topic. Why did BHVR feel the need to remove the thing where you can't leave the trial with a bear trap on your head from the Pig, that's literally her entire kit and is precisely the point of the bear trap and yet they removed it. Now Pig mains get to be bullied at the gates and still escape, nice one.

Why is Demon Dash stronger than Hilbilly's charge? MAYBE BECAUSE IT HAS A COOLDOWN

Bruh if you dont heal agains Oni then what did you expect? The best counter to Oni is to loop him for 5 gens without getting hit lol. And its not even that hard, even Bubba is stronger than Oni at the beginning of he game

    1. Yes, you should be able to see other peoples perks
    2. I dont think it would solve anything, my idea for DS is

1.DS timer is paused while on a chase

    2.DS deactivates when:

    • Survivior using it is the last survivior not dead/hooked/downed
    • Survivior using it starts performing any action (except vaulting and actions like mending)
    • Survivior using it gets caught in a Bear Trap
    • Another DS activates
    • 2 other surviviors are put into dying state (-30 seconds per down)

as the The title states they wanna nerf The synergy between killer slowdown perks well I hope there consistent and do the same for survivors ..one is fine even two but when every survivor has at least 3 it gets very strong especially with swf

I dont think there is any need to nerf synergy, the only perks that need nerfing is DS (so its only anti tunneling) and slightly Adrenaline (healing of hooks and on killers back). IMO it would suffice, Unbreakable and BT are fine and almost fair.

I think a great fix to ds is to decrease the stun time to 3 seconds and then to also make it to where it only lasts for 40 seconds..personally I think 60 seconds is to long

This would solve nothing. The problem with DS are activation conditions, or rather lack of deactivation comditions.

So IMO DS should disable when:

    1. You are the last survivior not dead/hooked/downed
    2. You start performing any action (except vaulting, mending etc.)
    3. You get caught in a Bear Trap
    4. Another DS activates
    5. 2 more other surviviors get downed in tje meantime (-30 seconds per down)

Also to compensate for this nerf and to increase the "anti tunneling" part, DS timer should be paused while in a chase.
