It may seem simple, but it's actually a huge amount of work. We would need to create a system that allows you to sync the progress between multiple platforms. To do that, we would need to create "DBD accounts" that you can use anywhere, since you can't just log into your Steam account on a PS4, for example.
And then if we get into sharing DLCs, for example, that brings up a whole different set of issues. That would have to be negotiated with each platform, since buying it on one platform and transferring it to another means any other platforms you transfer it to don't get their share of the sales.
Don't you guys already have "DBD" accounts? Isn't that what the player IDs are in the settings menu?

Doesn't change what I wrote.
They literally have to launch on Tuesdays or Thursdays because Consoles only update on those days. It's not rocket science.
-
@yukairi no. You must have at least the base game to access the PTB. A guide to using the PTB is in the dev post I linked to.

It’s almost time for the 3.2.0 Player Test Build! This time, the PTB will be split into two phases. The first phase will be focused on dedicated servers. We know there’s a lot of excitement for the next chapter, but don’t worry; all the new content will be available the next day as long as everything goes to plan!
HOW TO ACCESS THE PTB
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/26/
Tuesday, September 3
The PTB will be enabled on Tuesday. Only the design changes and dedicated servers will be available for testing at this time. This will allow us to gather the feedback we need for dedicated servers before the new content goes live.
DEDICATED SERVERS
We know that expectations are high, but we would like to reiterate that the roll-out of dedicated servers is only the beginning. While there are many benefits to making the switch, it will take some time to implement new features and take full advantage of the servers. The initial launch is the first step of many, focusing on infrastructure. We will share more details on our future plans for dedicated servers in the coming weeks.
We will publish the final list of server locations in the coming weeks. If none of these locations are near you, you will still be able to play the game and have the same experience as before.
PARTY MANAGEMENT
The new friends list and party management will also be available at this time. More details on these changes can be found in the most recent developer update.
BLOODWEB CHANGES
The bloodweb changes will be included in the PTB starting Tuesday September 3rd. More perks will appear in the bloodweb from level 40 and beyond. For more details, see the designer notes.
Wednesday, September 4
CHAPTER 13: STRANGER THINGS
The Stranger Things content will be enabled on the Player Test Build. This includes the new Underground Complex map, the Demogorgon, Steve and Nancy, and all the new perks. Dedicated servers and the other design changes will also remain active until the end of the PTB.
We are thrilled to see the worlds of Stranger Things and Dead by Daylight collide and can’t wait to hear what you think.
If you’re out of the loop, you can catch up with our most recent stream: https://youtu.be/BjoZSP8_Ce4
Chapter 13, along with the other improvements in the 3.2.0 update, mark a big step forward in Dead by Daylight. We are delighted to bring some much-requested features to the game, and we are excited for what the future holds.
I told you so.

Boom. Called it.

They're waiting to release because they're having some twitch streamers review & test play the chapter before the PTB.
EDIT: The streamers are just there for the weekend, so I'm assuming the PTB is coming out next Tuesday.

have to disagree. in what way would it be fair to cause permanent blindness? a permanent status affect of any kind would be dumb (except hemorrhage, that is useless). I dont even want to think about facing a ruin and thrill high mobility killer, their totem would literally never go down. devour deserves to stay as high risk/high reward as it now, trying to make it low or medium risk/high reward wouldn't be balanced due to the power it can give you.
totem spawns just need to be improved, honestly
If Blindness is actually that detrimental to your Survivor gameplay, I would try practicing Survivor more. Auras are aren't a given for survivors, they're an added benefit. You can play perfectly fine without them.
And, seriously, what is the difference between a high mobility killer with ruin+thrill right now? From the Killer point of view, he would protect the totem(s) either way. Thrill as it is right now just doesn't let the Killer know which totem is which.
Also, to put it into perspective; Devour's risk/reward looks like 10,000/100. I don't think it's very fair as it stands from the Killer's perspective. Due to how easily a totem can be destroyed paired with the fact that the perk does literally nothing until 2 stacks, it's not a balanced risk/reward.

Can you give us a short summary/tl;dr?
Activatable Hexes should be very powerful, and only appear once the first stack is gained.
Third Seal and Thrill of the Hunt should become normal perks because they don't fit the Hex standard.
-
@Carpemortum but there clearly is a cycle.

You're welcome, and thank you ;)

It sort of depends on what rank you are. If you're below purple, the best you can do is loop the killer as long as you can so you can get those delicious Killer Diversion & Evader points.
Once you're into purple ranks or above, you shouldn't really be seeing a lot of farmers.
Of course, I can't evaluate your skill, but I will say that my perspective is that of someone who's used Object of Obsession and gone on multiple 5 gen chases before.
-
All perks and powers that reduce your terror radius to 0 and remove your red stain will probably all be replaced with Undetectable
-
No, it does not. Deliverance's Broken Status effect overrides Second Wind, which means it will last a flat 60 seconds. Since Second Wind takes 20 seconds to fully heal, you'll still be broken by that point, therefor not healing you.

The problem with this idea is that it would essentially be a worse Brutal Strength. Your suggesting would put tier 3 of play with your food equivalent to tier 1 of Brutal Strength. On top of that, Brutal Strength you have the entire game and don't lose it after performing an action. The only reason why you would run this over Brutal Strength is because you don't have it unlocked.
No. Each stack of PWYF would give 10%. If you have 3 tokens (i.e. a 15 seconds chase) then the next pallet you break will be broken 30% faster.

Every killer made before Leatherface has broken/low detail models.
Huntress' arms have a 6 inch gap between the body when they're resting at her sides, and her shoulder area contorts very strangely.
Doctor's model is mostly fine but his mouth is has zero animation. It's a little uncanny.
Myers has the same problem as Huntress, plus his entire model below the waist almost moves as if it's one. His jumpsuit contorts like it's rubber or something. I think the devs at that point had a hard time animating a full-body jumpsuit.
Hag is okay, but she has the same thing as Doctor. Nothing on her head moves. Very static. Her general body is also low detail, but I'm not 100% sure due to the fact that I've never seen a human covered head to toe in dried mud before.
Nurse is okay? I think they've touched up on her model at some point to fix things.
Billy has the same thing as Doctor and Hag, nothing in his head region moves. His pants are also very strange when moving... something's off but I can't put my finger on it.
Wraith has some weird things going on with a disconnect between his cloak. Part of it is seperated as the "draping" half, and the other part if the "resting" half on his body. It's a little strange. And, just as Billy, Hag, and Doctor, he had nothing going on in the face/head region. You could give him a pass though, since his entire head is caked in mud. Otherwise, his body is just a little low detail.
Trapper I'm almost sure has had his model looked at before. His animations and model are pretty fine.
-
@BlueFang I think the only reason that they ever did put in a grunt is so that as a survivor, you can get audio confirmation that you stunned Myers without having to turn around.
-
It's been 4 weeks since 3.1.0, so I'm calling a PTB today, in one hour and 45 minutes from now.
-
This is the biggest Pog
-
Here's the thing.
You're thinking about top level play only from a survivor's perspective.
When I say top level play, I mean the best of the best survivors AND killers.
And the best of the best Spirit can wipe the floor with survivors.
The best Nurses can predict every survivor movement, the best Spirits can do the same, and guarantee free hits all the time, and the best Hillbillies know precisely how to curve around obstacles and get insane hits. Have you seen how the best Huntresses play? It's crazy.
Just because other killers are weak and can't apply pressure and "the only way to play at rank one is to play the top 4!!!11" doesn't mean they're immune to critical analysis and possibly nerfs.
And I'm gonna be honest, all of the top four killers have some stupid crazy things they can do at top level play. And those things probably deserve to be nerfed. Hillbilly's curve. Huntresses' hitboxes. Nurse and Spirits minimal counterplay.
-
People want a nerf to Spirit because at top level play she becomes a very powerful killer with little to no counterplay.
A good Spirit can almost always guarantee a hit because Spirit still has collision while phasing. This, and the fact that even with Spirit's phase vacuum noise, you have almost no idea where she's coming from. Her footsteps are near silent.

I think I'm in a minority here but I'll be very disappointed if the newest chapter is Stranger Things. The original Chapters are always better because the developers are more free to expand them with original lore, cosmetics, etc.
I understand that having licensed characters in a game brings a lot more fans but we already have quite a lot of licensed characters in-game and I'd prefer to have more original ones.
Additionally, I don't see how Stranger Things would ever work in Dead by Daylight. The idea of The Entity's realm being the Upside-Down would completely ruin the game for me because I like DbD's unique lore. Also I don't see how the killer would work because the Mindflayer and all that are supposed to be very powerful so why would they allow The Entity to control them.
If it is Stranger Things then I guess I'm glad for everyone who wanted it but I, personally, might take a break until the hype of it dies down.
On your point about why would the mind flayer allow the entity to control it,
Why did Freddy allow the Entity to control him?
When the Entity wants you, you don't have a choice. It's an "Elder God"-esque being that exists within it's own dimensions of time and space. It has more control over everything than Freddy or the Mind Flayer could ever have.

I've never played Freddy yet I have him P3. Honestly you don't deserve anything.
So I assume you're someone who's played enough to get every character p3 lvl50? If so, I'd go into great detail on how irrelevant your point is then, but to keep it simple, you have time that other people don't. You're making an argument for why you don't deserve it, not me.
-
So you're telling me
As a Freddy main
You don't want anything after he gets turned into a completely different killer. You're complacent. You're against the cause.
-
And you're a clown main. I rest my case.
-
Sorry, Xbox player here. No can do.
And also, why would anyone do that? That makes you sound pretentious.
EDIT: typo.
-
Just had the best idea: If we did get a vintage Freddy player cosmetic, It should be a Freddy who's on fire, as it fits with the end of the 2010 remake. He's lit on fire and we don't see him again.
-
This sounds extremely overpowered.
-
Instaheals suck.
Adrenaline is the survivor equivalent of NOED. They both suck.
Keys are the survivor equivalent of a mori. They both suck.
All five of these things are broken and unfun.
Instaheals should take 10 seconds to activate, and give a visual queue to the killer.
Adrenaline should do the same thing.
Once all five gens are done, NOED should be notified to all survivors, if it activates. Not the first time someone gets hit.
Keys should ONLY be usable once you are the LAST survivor.
Moris should only be usable once exit gates are powered, and if a survivor is on their last hook.
-
@yes that's a great question. There's been a billion posts on it, and not a word from the devs. Other than Peanits occasionally playing devils advocate, for some reason.
-
Absolutely not. They represent your time spent in the game and/or on specific killers. They should not be bought.
However you already suggested an alternative in your own post:
Reduce the grind.
-
@DenimChicken I feel like that really isn't true. This hasn't happened with any killer release before. It never lasted this long at least.
-
@RotBb so you'd rather a broken perk stay in the game for months just to make a fitting rework. Got it. Just like Freddy.
-
So you'd rather a perk was "fitting" to a character and extremely broken as opposed to just balancing the perk
-
@Peanits lol
-
I'm crossing my fingers they make our beloved fredward scissorhands an even better killer.
T minus 4ish hours!
-
@Peanits well, you're living now, yes?
-
I think this might be a side effect of the transition from P2P to dedicated servers
-
There is no downside, really. The only upside to wireless is that you can put your Xbox anywhere in your house.
-
On top of streams and important forum posts, they could also announce tournaments or contests, or upcoming release dates.
-
Billy, Nurse, Spirit, Myers.
-
+1 also make it show other survivors that you have autodidact
-
@legion_main Yes. They're completely arbitrary. Reduce all three offerings into one.
-
@TheGameZpro3 yes, remove all three of those offerings and add in a single offering in replacement.
-
@Peanits, I see this same discussion pop up all the time every once in a while, so I've seen your "If EAC detects; we won't unban" spiel quite a lot, but can I ask why you can't unban for that?
-
At tier three, once you hit your obsession, the perk goes on a 30 second cooldown. The problem is, it doesn't show you if your terror radius is 0 or not for the first 20 seconds.
I propose that, during the first 20 seconds, you get the black insidious fog on the sides of your screen to indicate "0 terror radius".
-
@LordGlint @Shad03 Yeah, the Billy charge is about 2 seconds.
2 / 1.36 = 1.47
It cuts down the time by a little over 0.5 seconds. That's not a lot of time to react.
Either way, having better descriptions would help so much with getting good/knowledgeable add-on combos.
-
@Peanits two crows of judgement in one thread? A new record!
