Everyone using this perk is making it very hard to get NOED to work. :(
-
Welcome!
Just to be totally clear: camping is not an actionable offense. Many consider it rude, but it's totally acceptable.
It's not efficient against smart Survivors. If they're smart, they go do gens, and escape leaving you with one lousy kill. But if they go crazy trying to get the rescue, it's the smart play.

I AM
But I'm biased. ;)
-
Oh right, I forget that since I play PC most of the time. :)
-
HAHAH thanks for the tip! :)
-
Woa. Congrats on Skilled Huntress as well!!

Devs mentioned on a stream that they will most likely change some of legions addons. The ones that debuff survivors when hit twice in frenzy will work on 1st hit instead.
Yes, that is on the list to be fixed soon.

I believe you, but it is also a fact that the dcing guys have take it as their "victory" (like they sometimes write it in this, or the steam forums) and everytime something like that happens, it encourages people like them and that means as a consequence of it, that they continue with their toxic behavior and also it spreads since people have got the feeling that it has worked.
DC penalties are in the works. We're aware it's an issue; but with deadicated servers, we'll have more tools to deal with chronic DCing players.
-
I've said this before: high DC rate is only one indicator that there's an issue. There were other reasons we did an update. We're still watching data on them, and will make further adjustments if we feel it is necessary.

I use Grado SR 125 headphones when at home, and Sony WH-1000X M3 with noise cancelling on when at work. I pay very close attention to the audio. :)
-
Do gens if they camp. :O
-
I started with Wraith, Aug 2018. Because he could be invisible. Moved over to Pig later, as she can turn off her TR. :)
-
Camping is inefficient in that smart Survivors will go do gens. Of course if they're done, may as well secure that kill.
However, overly-altruistic Survivors who insist on 4esc games will play into it; if they do, let 'em have it.
-
Pig. I like to be able to remove my TR at a moment's notice. I also like to delay the game, so her RBTs are awesome.
Also, it's really fun to hook someone in the basement, go up the stairs, crouch, and wait.
-
Yes, in my opinion. (fun)

So can someone please explain why obsession still get buff anyway?
Game slowing is considered powerful, so we kept that part. We'll monitor its performance and make adjustments if necessary.

I don't think dealing with Adrenaline is fun but you guys aren't rushing to do anything about that are you?
It's always a matter of priorities. We have a lot of other stuff we're working on, and adding something here pushes something out there. We are aware that some people are unhappy about the state of Adrenaline; it's not being ignored.

There is no 100% healing speed cap.
I don't know why people keep saying this. It's as simple to test as running We'll Make it + Botany.
It comes from here, the We'll Make It perk.
https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/We%27ll_Make_It"Helping others heightens your morale.
For each Survivor you rescue from a Hook, gain an additional 100% speed increase to healing up others for 30/60/90 seconds.
Cumulative Healing Speed bonuses cannot exceed 100%."
-
Keep up "The Spirit". Ahaha. I get it. :)

Its a shame when you need weeks of data to tell how bad a perk is when everyone in thread saying how garbage it is
I have seen several threads of people saying how good it is. So the jury is still out on this one.
-
The condition changed, I can't remember when, and I'm out of the office so I can't look it up easily. So it's possible you got achievements in a different way a while ago.
At the moment, it is supposed to be double pip = Merciless.
-
I'm not very good at marking and downing Survivors with GhostFace. So I bring NOED (sometimes).
-
We are very careful with anything that results in slower generator repair. We've found that when the Killer can permanently slow gen progress by a noticable amount, it results (rightfully) in a lot of Survivor frustration. Dying Light was problematic for two reasons. It encouraged tunnelling and killing the Obsession as soon as possible, and the gen-slowing was heavy and permanent afterward. From a risk/reward perspective, it functioned well, but from a "is the fun" perspective, it did not.
Of course the idea of being a Killer is to... kill the Survivors. But effects that make it positively unfun to play Survivor aren't good for the game; same for effects that make it unfun to play Killer. Hence the alteration to Decisive Strike.
The new Dying Light loses its tokens to prevent it becoming too oppressive.
We'll watch what happens in the data over the next few weeks to see if it needs some adjustments to its values.
-
Merciless is double pip. Nothing to do with number of kills.
-
It's a lot more work than you would think.
-
One of my personal favorite things to do, when possible, is hook and kill the last Survivor right by the open Hatch.
-
I'm not sure what you're referring to, and I wouldn't be the right person to talk to about that anyway.
-
We saw gameplay problems with the Legion, so we made changes to address those. We're still monitoring their performance, and considering further changes.
I assure you that the DC rate against Legion was not the main reason we did the update. It was one clue there was an issue, but it was just one piece of the puzzle.

Player agency.
One of DBD's strengths is player agency. Everything that happens in the game happens because a real human player did it, or set something in motion that did it.
But this is also why we get issues like holding the game hostage or other behavioral problems.
Balancing these is hard, but well worth the effort. :)
-
Yes, when you stack addons that do the same thing, there are not diminishing returns on them.
-
Pig/Huntress vote here.
-
It just means that any discernable pattern in the relationship of release dates does not mean you can positively infer the next one.
-
"Show me one discussion where a Street Fighter or chess player ponders what might constitute the definition of winning or losing in their game of choice."
I have had people tell me that my SF victories are not "valid." I like to win by 1 pixel of health when the time runs out by playing defensively.
That's not the same thing, I know. But it does show that even in a game with very clear win conditions that a some players still don't accept them. :)
-
The SWF advantage requires they aren't overly-altruistic. In my personal experience, they usually insist on 4esc or 4k; they won't leave when they have the chance if just one of them is on the hook.
Our data show that only the highest-ranked SWF have much of an advantage, and even then it's not that large an advantage.
-
One of the things I deal with design-side is the emblems. So I have a tendency to focus on my total emblem score.

"Just because it lines up one time doesn't mean it'll line up next time."
Just because it lines up 5 times in a row doesn't mean it'll line up next time. :D

Can you give us a hint how the work on Nurse addons is going? When can we expect some info about it?
It is going well. I can't say when it will be ready though.

Do survivors still know if they're oblivious or not?
Yes, they will get a status effect icon for it on the right.

Still doesn't make it useful you just see the killer aura for a few seconds its negated by spirit nurse wraith as they have high mobility.
It's a great perk. Seeing the Killer's aura for a few seconds helps you know not only where they are, but which direction they are going. How many times have I been on a gen, Killer comes, I sneak away, they kick it, and because of Alert, I can stay hidden as they breifly look for me.
Also: no cooldown, no range limitation. If they kick a gen, then chase, kick a pallet shortly after, you get a ton of information on what's happening.
Sure it's not the best perk, but its usage rate is low for its utility. In my opinion. :)
-
I almost never play Survivor without Alert. :)

Has the idea of bringing old NOED out to play for Halloween (just Halloween) ever been brought up?
That has not been brought up, until you just did. I'm pretty sure we wouldn't do that. Old NOED was really horrible. :)

No chance lol. Although she is better than most think, she isn’t on the same level as nurse or spirit.
I said "considering a combination of all attributes". That means fun factor, audio, skins, look, etc as well as just the ability to win matches.
:)
-
Pig is the best Killer in the game when considering a combination of all attributes.
-
I get 4k most games when I use the Letter.
-
@DoomOrb "Ha ha ha! I guess even the devs forget to use the powers they designed." I joined the team just after Clown release, so I wasn't there for Pig design. :D
-
I actually forgot to use Pig traps my first 5 games with her. Survivors in post-game say "um why didn't you use traps?" I told them honestly that I had just forgotten about them. :)
-
I don't agree NOED rewards a Killer for playing badly any more than Adrenaline rewards a Survivor for playing badly.
You spend an entire perk slot maybe to get a bonus in the endgame. So you're playing handicapped. In addition, NOED has a simple counter: do the totems. They're not that hard to do, and they even award BP and now emblem progress as well.
I feel like NOED in its original form, with no time limit or totem counter, was too much. As it stands, it just doesn't seem to be a real problem.
-
I'm biased (for obvious reasons), but I think now is as good a time as any to start playing. Have fun. :)
