It's funny when I crouch as Pig on a loop, stand still a bit, and let them mindgame themselves right into my clutches. >:)
-
It's just a thing that indicates how many times you've hit level 100.
-
Yes, but now that he's 4.6 m/s, you have more of a chance to get those people and put them on hooks while others are mending. I've personally done pretty well wounding multiple Survivors with the longer FF distance (50m instead of the old 31) and KI, but that's just me.
Still watching performance metrics. :)
-
He's absolutlely right. The power is meant as a delaying tactic.
When we shipped Pig, the complaint was "hey nobody dies from RBTs". But that was by design. :)
-
I don't know how long you've been gone, but Legion got an update.
-
I'd be scared if I were still running Windows XP as well.

I agree, @Almo may you please check out this suggestion regarding improvements to the plague gameplay experience?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/65238/plague-improvements#latest
Ok, I read the link. Thanks for the feedback!
-
I personally think they are both fun. They have different playstyles... one is focused on damage (Plague) the other is a delayer (Legion). If you already like Pig-style delay tactics, Legion might be the one for you.
-
I've checked Legion's performance on PC vs console, before and after the gameplay update. I don't see any significant difference between the platforms.
I understand why this is a concern to players; but when I look at the analytics, it seems fine.
Having said that, I will still keep an eye on those performance data in the future.
-
I play solo Survivor a lot. Most of my Survivor games, actually. (I'm a Killer main) It's not that often I have a DbD-playing friend online when I'm playing. I find solo Survivor fun. So... that's why I do it.
Obviously, just my opinion and not meant to be some kind of solution to the original question. :)
-
This is being considered, as per a recent Q&A:
EDIT: Thread moved to fast. I'm referring to this post: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/491421/#Comment_491421

I should note that Legion's popularity hasn't changed much, either. So it's unlikely they are significantly "less fun" to play after the update, at least as far as the community as a whole is concerned.
We're still checking more data and monitoring the situation. Ultimately the goal is to make each Killer a great experience for both Killers and Survivors alike.
-
Hi!
Just a note about Legion's performance: I've checked some data on it, and their performance hasn't changed much since the update.
This doesn't mean we're 100% done with Legion, but at the moment nothing is sticking out, either.
-
Note: Make Your Choice only works if you are 32 meters away when the save happens, so crouching near a hook wouldn't help with that perk anyway. :)

@Almo both sides?really?killers must play with rules.Balace 2 2 not work. because trophy system killers and survivors is different and killers trophy system difficult with fines.and survivors use voice programs in SWF...fun play only for survivors,,,for killers need only blush and sweat!its my opinion!
Of course everyone is entitled to their opinions! :) Me personally, I have fun in both roles. SWF or not; I still play a lot of solo Survivor. :)
-
I still have fun on both sides. This is one reason I'm happy to work hard on it. :)
-
I still have zero of these hits toward that achievement on Steam. :(
-
You score repair BP when the action stops. That's either when the gen is repaired, or when you let go of the button. Or, I suppose, if some mean Killer grabs you off the gen. Currently, the scoring is broken if the gen is finished. So if you repair 50%, stop, then repair the rest, you get only 50% of the BP for it. So the workaround is to stop repairing at 99% to score your points, then tap it to finish.
-
Play how you want. In real life, I'm super nice. But get me inside the confines of a set of rules, I can be pretty brutal. I've given ONE Survivor the hatch in all my time, and that was because their team really, really let them down and I genuinely felt bad for them. Does this mean everyone should play this way? No. :)
-
A lot of SWF are so focused on getting everyone out alive, you can use that to your advantage. I am not saying how, though. ;)

I was thinking the same thing. It takes 80 seconds to repair a gen to full and the killer is either going to find the hatch or find you sooner than that.
You're assuming the generator is at 0 when you get to it.

Pig, Wraith, Myers
Feng Min, Claudette, Meg
I like being able to shut off my TR. I feel too visible as the other Killers.
-
As of 2.7.0, Legion's TR is 32m, regardless of being in Frenzy or not.
-
I use Grado SR125 at home. These have flat frequency response (i.e. they are not bass-boosted), but do not block any outside sound. Great imaging, but if there's much noise (there seldom is where I am), then you're not going to hear them as well.
-
Awesome, thanks. I'll talk to the other designers about this. It's possible this is actually a bug that slipped through.

Except that's not what we were told. We were told it slowed down by 50% when someone was hooked or dying, which would bring the maximum possible time to 4 minutes.
Another poster had it right when they said it's not the velocity of the nub decreasing by 50%, it's the amount of time it takes the nub to travel a particular distance increasing by 50%.
It's an imprecision of wording, and I'm sorry if it has caused any confusion.
-
Clarification:
The EGC lasts 2 minutes if nobody is dying or hooked. If someone is hooked or dying, the timer moves more slowly, at a rate such that the maximum possible EGC time is 3 minutes.
Put this way, there is no room for any mistakes in arithmetic. As a guy with an MSc in physics, I can do 3-dimensional boundary-valued partial differential equations, but I do make mistakes in basic arithmetic. :D

EGC got lowered to 2 minutes, but if you have someone in the dying state/on hook it will double the time. So a maximum "delay" of 4 minutes is the worst that can happen once EGC has started.
This is not quite correct. When the timer slows down, it slows down by 50%. So if someone is hooked for the entire EGC, the amount of time maxes out at 3 minutes, not 4.

I'm pretty sure not_Queen likes Pebble. :)

@almo First and foremost, I'm looking forward to spearheading the "Go Fund Me" effort to purchase your new mic.
Second, I decided that of the 3 (following all), I'm keeping an eye on you. You've flown under the radar for far too long. 69 followers?! Come on, those are rookie numbers, you gotta pump those number up.
Third, of all the titles given in the list, yours (game designer) was most interesting. I could wki it, or fake that I know what's it's all about like everyone else. If you ever get the time, would you mind listing your contributions and responsibility to DBD? Sorry if that comes across as rude or entitled sounding, I'm just genuinely curious.
Fourth, God, river, or distribution center?
Thank you from emerging from the fog.
Haha I think the mic itself is ok. But its cable runs to a USB hub, and that hub also has the mouse running to it. My MacPro Trashcan only has 4 USB ports, and I've got about 9 USB things plugged into it. :D
I don't get the god/river/dist question. Sounds like an RTS reference of some sort!
-
Haha! Ok! I stream Rocket League as well as DbD, so don't be surprised if you see mutant car-soccer upon tuning in. :)
-
Almo2001 is a Killer (Pig) main. I top out around Rank 6. I suspect I could get higher if I played more often. :)
-
Pop Goes the Weasle and Bamboozle.
I use PGtW on various Killers, and I use Bamboozle mainly on Legion (Upcoming release version and old version alike).
PGtW can really keep you in the game, and Bamboozle simplifies a lot of chases.
-
Just saw this... wow. Nice job!
-
Red Dress Feng Min. I don't play it much since it's such a handicap being so visible, but it really does look cool. :)
-
I find that if you don't have a 75% plus rate of hitting great skill checks, Stake Out is really good.
-
Most of my Killer time is on Pig. Just finished getting every perk to T3 with her.
My Survivor of choice is Feng Min.
-
Woops! :D I'm a Pig main.
Hahah yeah! :)

Just play survivor. It's honesty easier and more relaxing.
I find Killer easier. Not necessarily to "win", but I don't have to worry about getting killed. ;)
-
"will take a long time to get there but at the end of the game when all survivors are maxed out and have every perk"
How long is that? I'm at almost 400 hours and I have like 42 perks on Feng Min. I wonder if there is such a player as someone who has gotten all perks for all Survivors.

I don't have this phobia: But maybe a killer based on Trypophobia, (Don't look this phobia up on images)
oh GOD do not look this up. Go to Wikipedia if you're curious; it has one image of a lotus which freaks me out. A general google search will mess you up bad if you have this one.
BTW it's not an accepted phobia yet; it's not well-enough defined.
-
Usually at least Bitter Murmer and NOED. Depends on the Killer I'm playing.
I like Spirit Fury/Enduring sometimes.
-
Our statistics show that except at high levels of play, SWF is not a significant advantage. Probably too altruistic (that's my guess anyway).
-
I'll just comment that I don't use BBQ every game.
-
Statistics show that only at the highest ranks does SWF have an impact on game outcomes. At other ranks they tend to be more altruistic than solo players, making them easier to predict.
Having said that, we are still interested in making changes that level the playing field between solos and SWFs.
And the Freddy rework is in the pipeline.
-
I'd like to know why you don't like them.
-
My comment on Killers hitting the one who was just unhooked is this: don't unhook people when the Killer is nearby. If you do, they can hit whomever they want. Just my personal opinion on this.
-
Pig and Wraith are my faves, so I voted Wraith since Pig isn't an original. I just really like having 0 terror radius. When I play other Killers I think, "God, but they can hear me coming from so far away!"

-
Relatively new player here. I've been in about 30 hours. In FPSs, I camp like a MoFo. Quake 3, UT, doesn't matter, I like to camp. Can't camp in Call of Duty very well, because their maps are designed to prevent it.
First 10-15 hours of DbD, I camped a lot. But I learned fairly quickly that's it's not really productive to camp so much. I still do now on occasion, but only in specific instances:
1) Where I can reduce my Terror Radius, otherwise it's just so obvious that you're doing it.
2) If most of the Generators are done, and I just want one damned kill before the game ends.My thought also is that if you're a Survivor and get camped, it kind of sucks, but you can approach it two ways. You can be stubborn and drag it out as long as possible to benefit the other players. Or you can try to self-escape and don't struggle if it fails. Gets you out of the game fast, and Survivor queues tend to be short so you're up and playing again fairly quickly.
Having said that, I wouldn't be against finding some in-game mitigations to make it less attractive.
