Already have that. Arms fully raised up and down means camper. Arm twitches means all clear.
Prime example of what the issue is with this.
For some, flailing arms means it's clear and hanging still means killer's camping.
For some, flailing arms means killer's camping and hanging still means it's clear.
Then we have people like you, who give the way you flail your arms additional meanings.
It's a mess, so personally, I ignore hook gymnastics these days.

As someone who runs Pharmacy not just for the initial med-kit, but also the ability to get other items from chests very quickly, I wouldn't want your reworked version.
-
I don't mind it being a thing still, it can be circumvented by paying attention to how you position yourself when uncloaking in front of a flashlight wielder.
-
While Oni is one of my favorite killers to play, I'll have to agree with others here that the best chapter was Halloween.

I liked it better with multiple colors instead of one color. With only purple it's just bland and uninteresting.
It's also more confusing to find my specific perks when there is only purple icons. when there was green I could find them more easily and I built up the memory to know that certain perks were green and therefore I wouldn't have to search through all the pages to find the perk I would head straight to the green section.
If you're on pc, you could use a custom perk pack showing perks in their old tier 3 colors. While it wouldn't show the icons in a trial, it would do so in the inventory.

I'm not saying voice-chat is what killed Friday, the 13th, but it definitely helped contribute to its demise. While proximity voice chat would most likely be the only way to truly bring solo players to the level of SWF, I'm 100% confident that it would only create more toxicity and causing people to quit the game. As you pointed out, I wouldn't want to get yelled at by some 11yo kid who isn't supposed to play this game in the first place, or get cursed out for playing stealthy as survivor or campy as killer.

Well, personally, I don't do it because it's not ergonomic, and most of the time the only workflow available on a phone sucks. But, one measurable difference is that the mouse over functionality on the DBD wiki doesn't work, so you're limiting access to information by using a phone.
I use my phone for the wiki as well and while it's true that mouse over doesn't work on mobile, mobile used to display the numbers in small print after the tremendously and such. I say used to, though, as it seems fandom messed it up somehow. Still, it's usually not a problem to use the wiki on mobile.
-
Try the movement speeds article on the wiki, it's linked in the infobox iirc.
-
It's a mobile skin and they didn't change Billy's default pants there.
-
I run Small Game from time to time so I slapped it on yesterday and hoped for a Freddy. Got one with dream pallets, for which the perk triggered just fine and one with dream snares, for which the perk didn't trigger.
My guess is that it isn't supposed to trigger on snares since you can see them pretty well, whereas you can't distinguish dream pallets from real pallets.
-
I think Oni's face model is determined by the body. Try it with his default body (which is the one the rift loads).
-
I haven't attempted it yet, but planned to drop a pallet right after spawning, then reset it and hope it'll stay until I can try to stun the killer with it.
-
There's no official release date yet, so any date you see floating around is speculation, leaked or not.

Title.
Show the killer pregame. Not which killer they play but their username.
Why would this be a bad thing? Would survivors dodge? Or bring their most OP loadouts if they hold a grudge?
Now reverse it. Why the hell do killers see survivor usernames pregame.
What's good for the goose is good for the gander.
For quite a while after the game's launch, it used a steam-internal matchmaking system. While you couldn't see the killer in the lobby either at that time, it allowed survivors to look up who the killer was by telling steam to show you the people you recently played with. It was then a simple matter of comparing the list with the survivors you saw in the lobby to deduce who was the killer in that lobby. Looking through that killer's achievements then gave you a pretty good idea of which killer was most likely their main and then you could prepare for that.
It created a lot of grief in those days and ultimately led to the devs asking steam to disable the feature for Dead by Daylight and eventually to them switching to their own matchmaking servers.

However, I do think at least one killer, maybe Trapper, should retain the old generic terror radius and chase music.

Yeah, I'm not sure what you're getting at, I thought I was clear about it deactivating?
There's no reason to buff the timer.
-
Indeed, they're not given enough credit. The thing that has most consistently been nothing but excellent is the music in DbD.
-
@MadLordJack said:
The Devs have already stated they will never do this, because they will never change chase mechanics. The excuse - oh, sorry, "reason", is that they want killers to be empowered for being in a chase, not punished.
However, given that DS now deactivates if you do anything productive, they could just as easily buff the timer for the same effect.
It deactivates when you progress the game towards an escape. Last I checked, if you can sit happily on a gen for 60 seconds after being unhooked, you aren't being tunneled.
-
My experience is opposite of yours.
Too many times I could have healed someone at the hook and they would have been healthy again before the killer approached, but they decided to instead run halfway across the map to a "safe" spot. Not only does that waste precious time that could have been used to heal them, but it also often takes them closer to the killer and has lead to many unnecessary downs simply because there wasn't enough time left to heal them up anymore. I curse at every single survivor these days that does this. Unless the killer is close-by, let yourself get effing healed at the hook and don't waste time.
-
No to all of this.
-
I miss the old-style events that had you hook people on special hooks and repair special gens, collecting tokens for cosmetics. They were simple, yet fun.
Really liked Moonrise as well, the lantern mechanic was creative and great fun, same for Hallowed Blight's pustula-harvesting.

That’s to strong with my buff to 1.50 seconds and you reducing topknot to 0.50 secs it’s like I didn’t change him at all it would be the same topknot. 0.25 would be good cause it doesn’t make Oni overpowered
I'm of the opinion that he doesn't need to be nerfed in the first place and your suggestion would still make this add-on not worth being rare anymore.

What would you reduce it to cause Oni with topknot is Nurse spirit levels of strong.
No less than 0.5 seconds, it's a green add-on ffs.
-
Yes on the buff, but no on reducing Topknots effect by that much, it would make it worthless for a rare Add-on.

I played a round with a friend and both of us had Iron will and we could clearly hear our painful grunt even tho both of us had Iron Will 3.
The Killer used the perk Stridor 3, so we think this might be connected.
I feel like it wouldn't make sense tho because we wouldn't make any noise that could be increased through the stridor perk.
The wiki has an explanation on why amplifying "nothing" does work with how the devs coded it.
It's very much an intended interaction between the two perks and the devs have fixed it when it was broken a handful of times in the past.
-
Absolutely not.

and yet even with mediocre survivors as a 2 man swf we can still destroy most spirits. Anyone that tries to put her on par with Nurse doesn't understand the game and doesn't play killer.
Take gideon god pallet plant as an extreme example. some of the pallets in there spirit can't do a single thing because her phase isn't going to take her around the map in seconds and land a hit from the other side of the pallet. For some if the survivor camps the pallet it's still a 50/50 which side they're gonna be on and spirit only has time to pick one side. Nurse just teleports through and hits within seconds. There's no comparison Nurse is leagues above Spirit.
I second this, especially after rereading @Axe 's post.
-
Blood Favor shouldn't be a hex perk, it's not strong enough in its current state to warrant that. The radius is minimal, you have more than enough time to reach the next pallet loop and the cooldown is too long to be of much use either.
-
Yes what?
Yes, Spirit should be nerfed to the level she was during her PTB, gutting her (in which case I tell you to git gud) or yes, Spirit should have her mindgame taken from her, but in exchange see survivors during a phase-walk?
-
@Axe said:
Just add phase sound in terror radius to eliminate her stand still mind game. Make it possible to hear her footsteps and see more grass movement in phase
So, pretty much like PTB-Spirit then, which was an incredibly weak killer and actually wouldn't warrant not seeing survivors while phase-walking anymore.

If you are talking about this image, that is a fan-art. The eyes of the Trapper are always like that, regardless of the mask(non-legendary of course) that you use, like here are the same eyes in his default mask:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/RWFE9VYKTLHJ/20210307134415-1.jpg
That mask that I used before just allows a better look(and is one of his best).
You can see the pupils of Deathslinger in his trailer, so no, there are “entity-touched” eyes in which you can see them. Only Hillbilly and Wraith’s eyes are similar in design. And Max jr had them before reaching the Entity’s realm, as shown in the Archives.
I very much doubt that the black eyes means “lack of empathy”, because The Legion and the Trickster would have them, and technically several licensed killers like Myers and Freddy. And I would say that Leatherface is capable of empathy, as he loved his family and is only killing due to fear of the Entity.
Is all right, this is all just personal headcanon, my stuff as well.
Yes, we'll have to agree to disagree.
Also, while it is fan-art, it's a render of Trapper's model regardless. I haven't seen those milky eyes on my Trapper.

Hillbilly and Doctor have bright eyes, and they don’t fit the profile. However, my main issue is that, as I said, a design choice and BHVR always does weird things with the eyes of the Killers, like Trapper’s eyes don’t have pupils, they are all white, like he was blind:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/EAGG7FEX92EE/20210307105016-1.jpg
Huntress, Clown and Leatherface’s eyes are completely dark, which to me is even more unnatural than glowing eyes. By that rule, the Entity changed them even more than the others. The Trickster has yellow eyes for some reason, despite nothing in his lore or power indicating that his eyes were changed in any way, he just has them to look differently.
I have an issue with those statements.
Not sure what's going on with him in that screenshot, but Trapper's actual model has regular eyes as can be seen on the wiki. He's one of those killers the entity tortured into doing its bidding, hence all the metal spikes driven into his body.
Doctor's eyes aren't entity-touched as you can still see his pupils, whereas with entity-touched eyes, you couldn't. It also wouldn't fit his lore, he enjoys torturing people in an attempt to satisfy his morbid scientific curiosity, he doesn't need persuasion or coaxing. If anyone's eyes are glowing purely for design purposes, then it would be his.
Considering the lore of the killers with completely black eyes, that to me just signifies that they are the ones who enjoy doing the entity's bidding, the blackness of their eyes shows their lack of empathy.
However, these are my personal theories about the eyes (though I do subscribe to the entity-touched one) and ultimately, none of this is anything more than pure speculation until the devs either confirm or deny it.

@Khorzad said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2001537#Comment_2001537
Yeah, but my personal opinion is that there is no enough evidence to prove the theory for any killer. I also don’t think that the “touched-eyes” are really a thing, that they are most likely just a design choice for the characters and don’t really follow the pattern.
They follow it pretty well, IMO.
-
@Khorzad said:
I don’t believe the “entity’s touched eyes” theory or that killers are manipulated into seeing things, but is true that you could make an argument that some killers are seeing things differently, like Deathslinger and Wraith, but others are almost confirmed to not be manipulated in that regard. I don’t think that the Oni is seeing anything, as he knows that he is trapped in the Entity’s realm and that it is manipulating it to raise emotions out of him, he is just too enraged at his situation to care, Plague as mentioned, doesn't need illusions, she is just obeying her god and if it commands you to die, you die.
Once opulent and well-tended by priests, the shrine was abandoned for unknown reasons. Season after season, the harsh and unforgiving weather corroded its grandeur. Paths that welcomed weary travelers, were now thick with vegetation growing damp and unrestrained. The sculptures were a haven for moss and lichen, concealing a scratched and brittle stone.
Kazan shuddered with rage as he stepped into the area. Unable to restrain himself, he unleashed his might on a statue atop the shrine, clubbing its arms and head to pieces. Even after he left, a rot seemed to pervade the air. The chime of bells played softly on the wind, as everything around them crumbled. Torn from Kazan's memories, the shrine now stood on the estate of this childhood home - a trick by the Entity that infuriated him even more.
The Spirit, I think as an onryo is too lost in her extreme feelings of rage and revenge to understand what she is doing, she is just lashing out against the living. Hillbilly is similar, he envies and hates others for not suffering like he did, and we know that he kept killing strangers that came into his house, so this would be similar. And in this camp the Twins are as well, as both of them are extremely hostile to strangers and other people.
Beings like Blight, Hag, Pyramid Head and Demogorgon are too alien(PH and DG) or trapped in their hunger (for blood and serum) to need manipulation of any kind.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1994592#Comment_1994592
We see in the mobile cutscenes that Trapper was tortured for not obeying the entity, so he sees what is really happening. Any killer that has been tortured is unlikely to have been manipulated into killing, which includes Leatherface(his addons mentions being tortured), Doctor and Nurse.
Then there are people like Legion, Trickster, Ghostface, Clown, Huntress, Shape and Nightmare that are just ######### enough to not care about killing innocent people.
Your post makes it seem as if your theory and the entity-touched one couldn't coexist, but they do so perfectly. En3ermost didn't claim that all killers are manipulated into seeing things, just the one with entity-touched eyes, which, with the exception of spirit, don't clash with your theory.

Lunar events are a recurring thing, so like the Hallowed Blight offering, that'll be reused when the event comes back around.
-
The most unfun Nurse change I've heard in a long time and I've been playing this game since before Nurse was added.
-
Is your GameUserSettings.ini set to read-only from old manual fixes that had you edit that file? Because that was why my game kept resetting that stuff.
-
It's Fandom's fault, they rolled out a "new mobile experience" a few days ago and it broke a bunch of stuff for several wikis.
-
You give bloodlust way too much credit. Unlike the popular opinion of salty survivor mains, it's not a magical buff that guarantees hits or kills. All that complaint tells me, is that you don't understand how the mechanic actually works.

so you majored in english, so what. Doesn't make you more qualified than anyone else, and the fact that you tried to play that card makes you even less qualified.
Because looking at Nurse's initial lore entry there's a tone of her getting her ideas of the world (and good in it) was shattered upon working at the asylum for years. the new tome entry however provides us with the idea that she always had a despicable view on others. That's a difference in tone and theme that's quite crass.
Also, the people defending the new lore seem quite keen on having lore as dark and edgy and gritty as possible, whether it's good for the character or not. And no, just because this is a horror game doesn't justify having things be darker and edgier for the sake of it.
Sally's new lore is... just not good writing. There's shock-value for shock-value's sake, and that's it.
I guess you just enjoy to dismiss people having a different opinion to yours.
I'll leave it at that, as I know from personal experience that arguing with someone like that is practically impossible.
Just know this: open-mindedness to the opinion of others doesn't hurt. Outright being dismissive to them, however, does.

sigh Look, I know you probably lack the reading comprehension to get what the difference is, so I won't bother explaining. But y'know, when about as many people in the community say the tome entry felt wrong for the nurse as there were people saying the new UI sucks... are you going to defend the new (not new new) ui design as brilliant and fitting?
There's no reason to be so dismissive of @Gruo. I agree with their opinion on the nurse's motives judging from the existing lore and I majored in English. Wanna tell me that I lack reading comprehension as well?
-
As far as my understanding of Sally's figure goes, her current tome lore fits her. Yes, it's dark. Yes, it's gruesome, but for god's sake, she worked in an asylum and went insane. It didn't surprise me to read that she killed the patients not out of mercy, but out of something much darker.
-
Can confirm that. I've experienced it recently as both survivor and killer.

Yes it was.
Since it's implementation in patch 1.5.0, Bloodlust has undergone an entire 1 change in patch 2.2.0, according to the DBD Wiki (which, considering how they log every single patch note the game has ever had, I trust on this one). This change was nerfing the speed from +0.2/0.6/1.2m/s to +0.2/0.4/0.6m/s.
You lose bloodlust when you break a pallet or hit a survivor. This has always been the case.
You lose bloodlust quickly, but not instantly, when you're no longer in a chase. Chases are initiated when both players are moving, the survivor sprinting, and the survivor is within 12m of the killer's LOS. This has always been the case.
You lose bloodlust when you use a killer's power. This has always been the case (ie. pulling up a Hatchet, placing the Knife in the ground, using your shock, etc).
You lose one stage of bloodlust upon being pallet stunned. This has always been the case.
Actually, you're both correct.
Since it was released, Bloodlust only had once change, the one in 2.2.0. However, one thing the wiki usually doesn't track are changes that didn't make it to the live build (ie PTB stuff, or mid-development changes). Bloodlust underwent a couple of changes (mainly nerfs) between the time the devs first presented the mechanic to the community and the time it eventually found its way into the game with 1.5.0.
I mentioned this to the wiki people, maybe they'll update the page.
-
Our Clown is pure evil, just look at his expressions and those soulless blacked-out eyes.
That's scary enough.
-
I'm pretty sure the wiki's lore is a combination of the lore from the devs' old website and the in-game lore.
