I'd be interested to know if Sadako's kill rate changed significantly in the last couple months or if she's always been around the top. I wonder if the popularity of her condemned build being spread has increased her numbers, or if she was just always somewhat around there (relative to the recent killer buffs).
def her forced condem strats. Her kit is weak otherwise and doesnt offer much. Weird moment of a character being so brokenly underpowered, but this one niche with massive power has cthe ability to skew kill rates.

If I happen upon you doing a glyph (or depositing) just doing a patrol I'll let you go, but doing it mid chase? Thats just disrespectful in my eyes and is going to get you downed.

Ok sure. So let me dc without penalty if someone else dcs at 5gens.
I suggested a "mutual vote to end" thing for this reason and got blasted with "Bruh nah I'd rather play the game."
Can ya'll just make up your mind already?

sometimes its a thing of happenstance. You or your team happen to perfectly counter their perks, they get screwed by weird hitreg etc. One can play well and still get dominated.

Survivors can't do anything about it. Friggin' wicked right! Alright lets just keep this between us huh, mum's the word.
Someone didnt read.

I like rancor as it is. It's so infrequent that its one of the only scary perks anymore, when you're wondering why you've seen the killer's aura all match only to realize as the second last gen pops you're very much in a lot of danger.
-
Tl;dr: Killer got absolutely screwed in the update.
-
3 kills and the last "dead" (I usually let the last go if they havent been a troll, as long as I've already downed them, picked them up, and walked to a hook._

I start turning my camera almost immediately after releasing my bound. That could also have something to do with it. Hopefully some testing tomorrow can help figure some more out.
You continue in the direction Wesekr's looking; its more like a +1 bound in order to let you adjust and try throw them into something in a potential straight run.

So I hear the argument alot that the nurses blink attack should be considered a special attack and looking at the other killers this makes sense to me. Blight's dash is a special attack even though its basically a lunge at the end of his rush and is not basic attack between rushes. Legions feral slash is a special attack and is his only option during his power prior to fatigue. Trickster can only throw knives during main event prior to fatigue. The only killer with a power that puts them into fatigue after that can basic attack is Oni however his lunge is still replaced. So I get all the reasons why nurses blink attacks should be special attacks.
I am wondering the reasons why they shouldn't be special attacks. Why they havent changed them. It seems to only make it so perks that benefit only from basic attacks will benefit her, but there are several killers that those perks are less effective on, Huntress, Trickster, Cannibal, Blight etc. It also would allow for a wider range of add-ons for her like with other killers, applying status effects or special benefits when hit with a special attack.
I am asking this because I really want to see the other side of this. There is no benefit to something being a special attack but there is to something being a basic attack, perk wise. So why does the agreed upon strongest killer get an attack that could be defined as a special attack as a basic?
BHVRs official reason is "Because then she doesn't really have a normal hit."

Yes, it is almost like that is what happens when one side overwhelmingly stomps the other. Do you think if gates are opened while no one is on death hook, that the gates should become temporarily blocked and that all survivors should become temporarily Exposed and Mori'able so the killer has a chance to make a comeback after getting absolutely obliterated?
Oh, you're that kind of person.

Or… they can follow the rules and attempt to do gens. They don’t deserve help in that situation.
And then they lose for certain. You see the issue now, or do I need to get some letter blocks to spell it out for you?
Its not about helping them, it's about not causing a stalemate that neither side is enjoying. Thats why the scape is a hatch, that neither increases or decreases MMR.
-
Because its the only endurance perk in the game that stacks (And the only one the community almost universally agrees should be the only one able to). With MoM, once its active, it will save you no matter how you're hit, which can very well be what saves you, wheras dead hard must be timed correctly. MoM, as said, also stacks, meaning you can eat one hit with MoM, then another with dead hard.

Ah yes, reward survivors for dying and then hiding and refusing to play. Amazing idea.
Its not rewarding them, its changing the game to something that now encourages survivors to expose themselves, while giving killers a target that isnt just meander around the map until something happens.
-
If you go "Ooh dull" and cleanse then yeah, I'd say throwing. If you have a perk thats activated by a totem, or suspect NOED is in play for some reason (Even if it isnt) I'd say no, you're taking action to gain some sort of benefit.
-
The issue here is potentially no one is at fault. Having been on both sides of this, I'd blame game mechanics, not the opposing player(s).
The objective is to escape for survivors, Gens just happen to be the best way to do so. However, in this case, the only logical the the survivor can do is attempt to hide and outlive the other player long enough to have a shot at hatch, as doing a gen is almost certain death. You simply cannot blame the survivor for doing this (and usually cant blame them for the 3 gen as usually, from what I've seen, it's the ones who are smart enough to not 3 gen that make it this far and their teammates arent exactly as smart as them)
The objective for killers is simple; kill survivors before they escape. The issue is, they can dominate so badly that it ends up impossible for survivors to do gens without dying, causing a stalemate where the killer cant find survivors, but the survivors have less than zero reason to reveal themselves. This is not the killers fault; they've done what they're supposed to do.
In the end, something needs to be done to detect and alleviate these situations, perhaps via conditional hatch spawning; if 2 survivors with 2 or more gens left arent in chase/damaged in, idk, 5 minutes? Then the hatch can spawn and a highlighted chest will contain a key (With both Killers and Survivors notified of its location) If not obtained in 30 seconds by a survivor it moves to another chest. If a selected chest is opened, it will close.
Would need tweaking of course, for balance and such, but something like this needs to happen, or the game mechanics need an overhaul before this problem will be resolved.
-
Its a mix of luck and knowing where it can spawn.

You can report them for slurs in their name though

I'm frankly tired of the fact that I cant report people in the pre-game lobby. BHVR,give us the bloody option to report them.
report them on your platform (Windows Store, Steam) if possible instead.

The Artist has a special audio when falling from great heights and landing, but I think it shouldn't play while Undetectable (literally every other killer has (almost) no audio when falling from great height). This would make dropping from heights more useful as Artists, since no longer would Survivors get a clue that you dropped down.
Wesker also has a landing noise surprisingly, but its a much more subtle noise of feet hitting the floor.
-
Lag. Server said you werent through the door yet, and server is king when it comes to decisions.

As someone who never used crutch perks as a survivor, rhe killer buffs have pretty much no effect, a nd everyone else is dying because they can't actually run a killer without "Muh dead hard"

Because it’s a complete waste of time in 99.99% of situations.
You get off the hook and then get downed. Nothing changes.
Or a person just doesn’t bother self-unhooking at all out of spite to waste the killer’s time.
Make it automatic. Also it could be massive, with the new basekit endurance. Its entirely possible t o take a hit, and with that speed find the hatch, or with the right perks and moves, can vanish from the killers sight.

Then any killer builds that can add another 30s to gens should be nerfed as well.
Gen regression perks should not erase the mistake killers make when they over commit and don't pressure gens.
30s is literally base chase time. Theres a difference between 30s lost and 30s gained here.

Honestly, i just want her terror radius fixed. You have no idea how many times I've run headfirst into an Artist because their terror radius sounds the exact ######### same whether you're on the edge of it, or standing right next to her.

Technically you can hear a difference in the terror radius depending on how close you are but nobody pays attention to that anyway
you can, but at the distance of this terror radius its so inconsistent
-
@Sonzaishinai said:
A map wide terror radius might as well be no terror radius
its better because the survivors always feel like I'm nearby lmao. it's why they never saved in that game.

its because of a technicality.
It increases the range of aura reading for survivors, but in this case its not a survivor reading auras, its the Gen.

Every match I've had today against him and the killers dc. I've noticed some miss the power when it looks spot on, does he feel clunky or something?
They nerfed his "Survivor Impact" size. They need to buff it slightly as, right now, it is possible to seemingly just phase through survivors.
-
@supersonic853 said:
Every wesker I've played against today has done exactly that. Sometimes fake leaving to just rush back. To say this is one of the most boring release days from a survivor experience would be underselling it. Which is sad because i looked forward to this patch. I hope everyone else has had more fun though.
As someone whos already played a fair bit, its usually because we see one of your rescuers and chase them. Because of the dash we often catch up to them before they reach you though.

No way!!!!!!! You just opened my eyes!!!
On a serious note, how is that even remotely connected with Reassurance? Hackers can hold you hostage regardless of the perks.
Because its not as obvious when the game itself is allowing you to do so. Lobby hacks arent detected very much, so to have a method to hold a streamer hostage with literally no visible ingame hacks?
-
@SuzuKR said:
??? Why would a killer using a strategy to get a kill would be toxic? That makes no sense. The game isn't over until the lobby screen appears.
There is literally nothing else for the killer to do in endgame. No gens to protect. What else are they supposed to do?
Why do you think you're already out before the game even ended?
This. Gens are gone, Gates are usually impossible to protect, and even if they are possible to protect its not worth it. Your only feasable objective now is hooked survivors.
-
@MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:
So how survivors will counter it? It is insta-mori and there is no counter for it.
Just get good, stop asking help to devs. Use your own skills.
Theres no skill you can use to counter lockers when going for the achievement. The survivors counter it by not getting stalked.
-
I'm alright with it now simply because it doesnt by default give immunity to abilities. Trapper needed this.

@Ana1661 said:
Now Reassurance isn't gonna do anything really useful in that regard. It was about to be a perk which could possible change the least fun aspect of the game for the better, now this chance is completely gone. The excuse "it could be abused to held survivor hostage on hook" is really not believable and absolutely impossible to do in a real match. The killer has the opportunity to kill the Reassurance user. Nothing has been done about survivors (or killers) bodyblocking other survivors and holding the game hostage, and there're still cheaters who are regularly holding the other players (mainly streamers) hostage, but there was a decision to nerf a perk which could've been probably the most useful perk released for the survivors in a long time, not cool imo.
Hackers can join games, even as killer. A group of hackers can take people hostage.

Get the box first next time
We couldnt, I literally always run for the box first then go ######### about for a bit doing gens before I solve it. I ran for it, and before I even heard tr he'd already grabbed. Thats why I had the calm spirit moment
-
@xfireturtlex said:
When youre in a hunt and want to solve the box you MUST dodge all 3 chains in a grouping, then IMMEDIATELY solve the box. If you get hit by any chain or hesitate after the grouping, you wont have time to solve it before the next group. I can pull this off every time n im not an insanely skilled survivor. Unfortunately, Pinhead doesnt show up enough in matches for ppl to really get the feel for the timing. I promise it works though. If you want a little extra insurance, try to do it near a cubby or obstacles that can block chains if you mess up.
Most of the time the next group spawns as the last one launches, making a continous stream of them. I'd know, because I was ######### timing the solves perfectly, and before the last one hot the cover I took behind more spawned next to me.

The obvious flaw with your terrible anecdote is that one does not always have a flashlight with which to burn nurse. However you always have access to the box and it's attendant counterplay. If you hate it that bad snatch it and sit in a locker all game.
And you know what? While I'm at it that pinhead played skillfully. Knowing where the box is gonna be at all times and getting to it reliably is no mean feat. He played well and was rewarded for it. Sorry you and your team weren't up to the task. GG next instead of throwing a fit and demanding nerds.
Bruh? So you're saying that a Pinhead who gets the box first and because of it causes a chainhunt that C a n t b e # # # # # # # s t o p p e d is fair and balanced gameplay? Cool, lets give Myers basekit infinite T3 and Blight infinite tokens, its clearly what you want. While we're at it, lets make Nemisis tentacle perma one shot and give crack billy back.

Why do I think I know this quote? ;-)
It's true though. Awakened Awareness doesn't get nerfed because of being OP overall or with other perks, no: because 1 (I repeat: ONE) killer would be able to easily kill survivors with it.
BlinkAttacks=SpecialAttacks
While I see this a lot, and in a better world it would be viable, this literally kills any variety of nurse. This may look like a nerf, but in the end it'll just make Nurses run sweatier combos

That's what people keep saying, but I swear to god that's almost never what actually happens.
Guessing which hook it actually ends on feels more like russian roulette, except every chamber but one has a hook in it.
This. It feels more like its a bug when you finally manage to actually do it.
-
@YOURFRIEND said:
Hooks spawn in groups of three when you're holding the box. One. Two. Three. Solve. That easy. Learn how to play against something before you demand nerfs.
I did this. Guess what? More spawn before you can get rid of the last one. Hell, even if you dodge it more spawn before you can start.
@OneGoodBoyDemo said:
No, Pinhead is fine and the box has counterplay, he doesn't need to be fixed, he needs torture.
What good is counterplay when the very action meant to be the counter is stopping you from doing so? This is like saying that nurse has counterplay because you can lightburn her. It defeats the entire ######### point anyway.

@Pulsar said:
Why should the Killer get free Kills?
They shouldn't.
I feel like the place we are at now is...fairly balanced. Basekit BT and Haste allow for counterplay from the Killer during the EGC whilst not allowing them to just knock the Survivor down almost immediately.
Some people may have an issue with it and they are allowed to hold their opinion. It's wrong but I suppose they are allowed that luxury.
This. Most games of killer I've had that made it that far can really boil down to "Either I down you now, or I lose you completely." The basekit BT is enough for other survivors to come and try and defend, while still not letting them get out. It sets it up so the survivors can at least do something.
