  • Yeah this year they claim to rework trickster, trapper (after 10 years almost) and skullmerchant (undo the hideous thing they did to her after what is it now 2 years).

Oni is not even the best combo for Legion given Legion already does a good job in keeping everyone injured, so the one hit down doesn't come into play as often. Legion's strength is that his duo, when patrolling the map, could find an injured survivor from Legion's frenzy and easily take them down while Legion himself kept the rest of survivors busy mending, that's what people disliked about him. Blight, Spirit, Nurse or even Wraith can be very deadly alongside Legion just as much as Oni.
Oni just so happen to have a power, that, regardless if you're injured or not, you'll be going down on hit anyway and as long your duo can land proper hits on survivor, he will be fed with blood.

But Escapist with on-demand Sprint Burst, Medic healing mid chase, or just removing hook states for finding the glowy thingy around the map is fine btw. While also nerfing ALL killer classes to more inferior states than before.

Legion just fueled oni but as you say he wasnt best for team with him, more with killers that can get hits fast like wraith from stealth or especialy nurse, blight and other strong killers with chase power benefit with legion even ghostface and nemesis were good with him because nemi just had to hit you twice with whip or once with puch when you were injured 24/7 and ghostface didnt need to stalk just sneak up to injured survvior and m1 so legion was just huge help in slowdown (mean you cant be injured against good nurse or blight so legions slowdown worked very well), ending chases quickly and getting downs (being majority of the team mostly injured the other killers had very easier work to get downs thanks to legion) and lastly info this was only valid for friends on coms because legions info in killer isntinct could help navigate his teammate and get into places where was lot of survivors and get more downs and wasting less time by wondering on the map alone, so legion just did way more than oni and better oni can just slug like 3 max because than first slug can pick up himself or get picked by other survivor.

Problem is that Oni is only a punching bag till he gets power and in this mode he doesnt need to make a single hit by his own and could archive it. While even more blood orbs spawn cause more survivors on the map.

Maybe they should make it like this. That the blood bar of Oni only fill up a third if he hits a survivor with a M1 by himself

With the tonics now in the game (herbs basicaly again but different vizualition) you can heal kinda freearly even reduce killers succes in objective by 2-3 cage stages (I think green tonics are two but maybe 3 Idk I couldnt find it), medic is very good against oni and escapist can just loop him even when he is in his furry.

Foroni to get his power survivors need to be lot injured and for longer time which is now very preventable when legion is gone, oni is good in 2v8 but I dont think he breaks the game mode as legion did he is just like dracula but more uknown in potencial he must get power and than its in his hands with limited time and there are very strong effects on survivor side that can stop him in some cases.

Your idea has one big flaw, getting m1 hit without any stealth or good catch up mobility or power is against good looper thing that can take whole game in 2v8 especialy because there is one key thing missing that helps m1 killers to achivea their hit and thats bloodlust, yeah bloodlust isnt in 2v8 and without it on super good loops that are safe against escapist or team with some scouts isnt something good. I had many games where oni did very good damage to my team and we were on 8 gens like with 6-8 cage stages already but we still catch up with mechanic to 4-6 man escaping out so I dont think he is that dam op as people claim, is he good? yes but that are many killers here like wesker, huntress, dracula and oni is good but can be looped easily if you are escapist. This mode is quite more survivor sided if survviors use their resources well and do gens and if this is broken than catch up mechanic kicks in to help them to get back plus many classes has great abilities especialy scout, medic, escapist are the key to win here like scout destroyes trapper and spirit just by existing (revealing trappers aura to all so his traps get leaked to all the team, being injured after cage gives you iron will so spirit is this loud eviroment is more cooked), escapist just can help you get out of situations where getting hit with dash or normaly wouldnt be avoidable and to your teammates too and medic can make insane resets and saves and two medics can get hit so many times if they bodyblock for each other and its not billy or huntress, oni thats insane so I dont think oni is the worst thing here now especialy when tonics are here and legion is gone.

  • devs cant solve now hackers in 1v4 so solving this in 2v8 is a wet dream I fear.

  • @Rickprado said:

Also, with the Scout class people can just drop pallets no stop until Oni loses it power.

People loses against Trapper + Wraith combo, so its expected that they will be mad in going against any killer which is not a punching bag.

Oni is the punching bag untill he rages than its different game, thats what I like on him his explosive nature which surprisingly makes him balanced.

  • 15 minutes? Where I want it too. For me its 20-33 minutes to get killer game depending on day and time I play but this current 2v8 the lowest time I had on killer was 25 minutes.

For afk killer I for if the player (the afk killer) doesnt react for like 1-2 minutes by not moving their character than they will be disconected and bot with strong preformance will take their place (good bot because the killer side needs mostly catch up).

Only thing I get why something like this isnt in the game are bugs because imagine if the game kicked you off after few minutes when you played and were active as bug, it would be very bad.

Tbh are we sure its even people DC'ing on purpose? The servers are so unstable sometimes I just get randomly booted from the match. It happens so frequently.

Yeah this thing happens a lot (especialy in 2v8) and others seenit as dc but it can be server issue or even ddos attack so I dobt think all its just dc which is made by that particular player.

  • Skullmerchant because half of the team gives up.

  • @CatManThree said:

Nemesis has the same base movement speed as almost every other killer though?

Slow he means his power up takes too long in so fast phased game mode as 2v8 is, he hasnt got marvins yet which is huge hinder because before he gets tier 2 the pyramihead or slinger do more if they dont just miss all the time.

  • Its more sensitive so using it around corners isnt that easy plus he has shorter range when he flicks compare to before and 2v8 offers one class that can take oni for long time chase or get him off you if you want to be safe from him just pick escapist and you are good to go sprintburst on command every 30 seconds if great tool for countering oni around loops.

"The problem is the insta down. The free heals don't mean a huge amount against oni because he ends chases just as quickly when he's raging whether surv is injured or not. Even getting healed quick leaves a lot of blood orbs lying around."

I would say its the average 2v8 players bad sense of macro that makes Oni so strong the amount of times I have played 2v8 and have only seen a few people trying to manage themselves, healing should be done in a corner so that it takes a long time for the Oni to get there, too many people just heal nearby high traffic areas like gens and then act surprised when Oni does not have to go far for his power this is even more important by late game as of there are few gens left go heal in the area where most are already done to make him have to travel for it.

20% is not even the important part I just said that to poke fun at OP's "REDICULOUS" turn rate its the movement speed buff that gives him the extra lunge and even then with how pallet dense 2v8 is its not like you don't have a way to hold him off. Also regression is just equalised in 2v8 its 1 to 1 with how fast a single surv can repair it this can be countered by guide with a blast mine to make up the time lost difference and give a massive head start.

Overall I don't think Oni is the free win machine some say its just in 2v8 people only think about micro play and forget the macro giving the killer free pressure.

Pretty much healing places create blood banks and if these are easily accessible than its fast power up gor the oni and he is going for deffending gens so it helps his objective, as you say if people healed in cornes he would have less powers charged or wasted lot of time when getting there.

I had have many games against oni and he is just better/ easier (more easier than better) billy but his power is timed so shen he runs out he is weak and many people give him multiple instadown hits while doing gen or healing which I dont understand (if you have endurance and force him to hit you he looses 7 seconds for instadown hit and is slowed down but not many people know this smart play).

  • @MythicalTwinkie said:

    Yup. Happens every 2v8.

2v8 brings out alot of cheaters since its a much bigger "######### you" to the killers because they known you had to wait 20+ minutes in queue.

chances of running into a cheater is also doubled since theres double the survivors.

Do cheaters need to wait for lobby? Because some are able to choose who they match too so I dont think they need to wait for lobby if they pay more than for basic pack of cheats.

Just like 1 v 4, if you’re playing to win then you can’t just spread hooks fairly without any strategy. You need to get 1/2 survivors out by the time there’s a few gens left or you simply will lose.

You need to hook same survivors primary (cage) because for each cage they get 2,5% repair speed bonus so having 10 cages while all are alive compare to same number of cages when 3 are dead is astronomical difference, you basicaly gave same repair bonus to survivors but there is less hands(people alive) that could use it on gens to get them finished.

There's a difference between your first statement. Her power isnt strong because she moves slower, she moves slower because of how strong her power is.

Nurse is also still considered number 1 by a large majority of the player base and all it takes is a really good Nurse to remind you. Her one weakness is LoS breakers and that can be rectified with aura reading, of which there is plenty. When it comes to mobility its definitely not as good as Blights in most scenarios but what people forget to consider is not everything is a straight line. There will be obstacles or even different elevations in the way when youre trying to go somewhere and that is something she doesnt have to worry about, meaning she is a lot less map dependant than Blight.

If they ever make it so aura reading no longer works when using her power, Blight might just take the number 1 spot. But as it stands right now when comparing her to Blight, her lethality more than makes up for her mobility.

Thats only thing they can nerf ho make her more healty and thats less time of auta reading when she is charging her power or none (still I will more likely go against nurse that has aura build than the 4 slowdown nurse especialy now where map offerings arent guarantee map as before).

You cant berf nurse much without crippling her, she would need rework more than blight who needs just few changes and he will be solid strong killer.

Nurse beats blight in lethality but blight wins in long game where his speed and agressive nature are more lethal than nurse.

Personaly I did these archives challanges where you have to get 4k with 3 base perks wraiths and huntresses and I couldnt do it with nurse (even when I better with her while I played her less than blight) I got rushed and her lethality against survibors that know how to run her isnt that huge but I did it with blight easily compare to nurse and without addons almost perkless because these perks of these killers have almost no effect maybe huntresses hex does something but it got cleansed fast, I find blight superior esecialy against very good survivors.

  • Yeah either increase the time it takes the uvx effect get rid off or they reduce his power cooldown I dont see any better option how to help him.

  • @Shroompy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4055684#Comment_4055684

The key difference between the 2 is that Nurse's power completely nullifies pallets and anything LoS she can still play around due to being able to just go through it. Blight still has to play around these things.

Something you made me realize as well is that I think there's conflicting opinions due to what we see as an issue. Personally I don't think Blights who just walk forward and then use their power to catch up is much of an issue. Boring? sure, but to me that person is just not playing the killer correctly. What I'm concerned about is that someone went on a 2k+ winstreak, and I can assure you he didn't do that by just holding W and beating through every pallet.

The key difference you missed is that nurse is 100% dependent on her power compare to blight because she moves slower than survivors so she needs very strong power but blight can play as m1 115% speed and than use few rushes to secure a hit or use his power to trawel across the map which nurse cant do.

There is reason why nurse killstreak isnt same as blights and why comp survs consider her weaker than blight even the fact he was nerfed through years since his record killstreak.

Making blight 110% saves his power because 110 needs good, strong power and making him loose two tokens after preforming pallet break action just shuts those that say he needs same as ghoul (which is truth in this matter), these changes wont kill blight or make him unfun to go against they will just force him to use more of his power which is why people like to go against him.

  • @crogers271 said:

It would probably be more of a nerf, the time taken to draw out the path would be much better served just playing as Nemi. The strength of zombies comes from the passive ability to just harass survivors and distract them.

The roar ability is a neat idea. Given zombie speeds I don't know how frequently it would actually make a difference, especially when we getting into weighting the roar over the zombie already having a target, but a neat idea.

Yeah either make them way faster with roar ability that will have some cooldown or another is to despawn one and spawn it on your location this would make them more as strategic/deffence tools as just wandering waste of rng that most of times barerly works.

  • @PetTheDoggo said:

Oni was nerfed hard with change that survivors can pick themselves with use of their power…

Just playing escapist counters him directly or wastes his power a lot (escapist has shortest power cooldown so he can pick the fastest).

  • Depends highly what survivors and killers you have plus map. First survivors if they have few hours its just way easier, if they have few thousand hours than it will be hard because these know something about getting gens done while how they can loop and about each killers counterplay.

Killers is second like trapper, nemesis, ghostface and slinger can be good but they require perfect plays from the player that plays them, worst is trapper because he can lock the area but his trade off is 2-3 gens done while he is setting up, nemesis kinda still sucks and ghostface plus slinger if they are good can do something. Pyramidhead is kinda meh, he can be good if you dont miss but his range got only 15% range buff which isnt good on killer that gets destroyed by holding W in mode where this is very common.

Other killers are great due to having more mobility like powers with good antiloop so they are more flexible but they are to hidered by some maps like nurse and blight are kinda cooked by larrys while ghostface is god like on larrys or billy gets hurt by larrys too.

That's completely fine, me (Oni) and one wesker had fight who mories the last one and he stayed slugged for quite some time... The game didn't let me mori, I had the bug being unable to mori last and wesker also refused. We just kept swinging at each other for few minutes.

Then in the end I tried to open exit so the survivor could escape as I felt bit bad but the survivor crawled under me and I picked them up accidentally. Then Wesker just headnodded for me. 😆

You know that like from twd in prison with rick **it happens.

  • He is super weak untill he powers up, if he is bad or his teammate than its minimaly draw in terms of kills/escapes.

His slugging nature is well managed here because survivors can pick themselfs up so he must count how many slugs and distance between them for time so for me I find weskers vault just ghouls on roids dude can just vault when you are right behind window and get you still and there are many more busted things than oni who has to manage his power use so still small thing compare to legion.

But damn, for how long? She had already been walking normally for several seconds and still completely ignored the stun

Only in fatigue but once she is recovered into normal state she should be stunned so it was bug probably (she has been blessed with many bugs for few moths lately).

  • From what i wacthed nurse cant be double stunned (or any other killer I guess) so thats why you cant stun her when she is stunned after blinking by fatigue.

  • @Marc_123 said:

    Counts in normal matches too.

I hope. Thank god they give each quest two aproaches from both sides survviors and killers so escaping 5 chases is pretty easy in 2v8 instead of carrying survivor for 200 meters.

  • I would rather wait for more killers that are added with solid buffs and getting more in each 2v8 and their power quality would be as now its slingers, nemesis and others that didnt get anything good for 2v8 like pyramidhead Idk why they juts gave him 1,5 longer range its 11,5 (10 is basekit) where in 2v8 distancing and holding W is very used.

Good exsample are killers like wraith, spirit and many others, look at billy he has only two addons added (30% better turn rate from boots and 12% stun rediction when he bumps into something) but he is still very good this is good balancing because if that killer is bad you wont get many cages annyway and your teammates will be iritated because they will have to cary you both.

They wont do this becaue it would cause outrage in some survivor part of players that want to thrill and give you these tbags as assertion of dominance even with fact its like small dog barking behind tall fence, if that fence wouldnt be there he would poop himself and was silent, same here just remember how many survivors tbag you infront of closed gates I dont recall none.

Unless you are running a specific build to speed up repairs, it is exactly like you say, "like watching paint dry". 90 seconds is a long time to be holding M1

Yeah but thing is not all killers can do much in 90 seconds unless they are blight or nurse or other very strong killer. The 90 seconds solo repair is slow but if all 3 survivors are doing it spread across the map while one is being preasured (chased by the killer) than its juts time bomb that will eventualy lead to multiple gens being done so you can play well as the killer and nothing happens for like 100-120 seconds and than two gens are done or three and you are having few hooks by that time because it takes time to find someone and down them unless you play like blight or someone who has insane catch up mobility that makes traversal across the map easy and strong antiloop too.

  • @vol4r said:

People already don't use flashlight class because its just bad.

    Medics save you time.
Guide gives you time by stunning the killer.
Escapist give you time by sprint on demand and free WoO - you know where to go at all time.
Scout let's you rebuild all pallets, it's huge.

With the flashlight class people run around waiting for a save that might not happen. Such a waste of time - people already figured that out.

Flashlight class without playing with friends (swf atleast duo) is very bad.

Two medics in duo swf can do way more like if its killer that takes one health state and cant instadown or hit multiple survivors they can just force bodyblock and heal instantly if they have both their powers ready, its so underated in power not to mention medic now has even more insane resets because 3 survs can heal 1.

I had this happen too, when I was loading into a match.
I kinda felt bad for the killers, who'd been waiting for so long, only for the server to say "Nope" on them.

I had this many times like when I got killer lobby after almost 30 minutes i got disconected from it before the game started and another 30 minutes (almost 30) I had to wait for lobby, or when I was loading into the match someone dced (happened to be even me few times and whole lobby after 25+ minutes waiting goes bye bye or straight from the match (I had few of those and most happened when I was winning as killer so I think they were good old ddos attacks but I not sure because with what can i be in DBD where some people like cheaters can influence almost everything).

Worst thing is just the time you had to wait for that killer lobby, what a torture.

You have to realize that thousands of players go into matches and then see Bugs which the Devs overlooked. Because there are simply not thousands of Devs to test things.

Considering that only a few select maps spawn too many Pallets, I think it is reasonable that it can slip through. I am also criticizing the Devs if they fail to see things which the community immediatly sees, but even with those extra Pallets it took a full 24 hours before the first reports came in. And this, again, with thousands of games played.

Put it here simple, there are more bugs than devs in the game.

  • I got more disconected by server than dcing even it looks for others the same tbh.

You don’t need to write an essay. Just a few bullet points about what you perceive as the main issues is way more helpful than “just don’t play the game”.

This thread is a great example. Someone pointing out a specific issue with too many pallets spawning on a lot of the maps and demonstrating how it’s a significant issue for killer players. The general “the game is unbalanced/terrible” or “just don’t play the game” type comments aren’t really constructive at all.

Well what can you do as a player than? Fix the code, I dobt think so and for those that play weaker killers that cant deal with pallets great in general the best option for now if they want to play 1v4 is to either change for killer that can take it (the 100% more pallets because hit kit is strong) or dont play their m1 killer in 1v4 unless they want it supper hard.

Consustructive solitions can be nice but here on this issue there isnt much you can do as killer player just play stronger killer or risk getting outdoor map that will have twice as many pallets as it normaly should and if your opponent (survivor team) wont be bad than its most likely gg at that point because not only theres more pallets but some spawn super close to each other like 3 meter distance.

Thing is does anyone watches charms and banners? Like on hook maybe it will hit your eyes but on survivor its something you wont pay attention even on the hook it isnt for me easy to spot unless is something bright like dam rainbow flag that has multiple collors easy to spot but some dark mutated bat thats something I wont notice.

Skins thats different story and it would be very nice especialy with events like I remember one of those Halloween event where that flowers were introduced (later blights ones he uses to get serum with but there were used on storyes animations how hr colects them as survivor and experiments on individual killers like trapper), there were firts blighted skins on 3 killers and survivors but things like these are long gone where getting event points was 1000% worth it.

It's still not proven it's a bug and not an intended balance change, in accordance to their current view of the game. Also, the amount of downvotes under OP proves quite a bit about the survivor community. Considering they make up 80% of the player base, it's not surprising the devs introduce such changes based on the quantitative feedback, as they get "need more pallets" requests four times as often as the opposite opinions.

It wasnt mentioned anywhere so I guess its bug because if dev team would still try to push pallet density update through even we got two of them (one like this in favor of survivors and another in favor of the killers) both of them prooved to be disaster and not needed (just certain maps needed small changes not global map wide change).

If devs would do this intentionaly I would start to beilieve they hire from some certain institue deling with peoples mental health problems it woudl seem so for all our sakes I hope its just a bug connected probably to 2v8 map pallet spawn that somehow got into 1v4 because of fragile DBD codding.

  • 2v8 had for me almost always some delay on the server side so dropping pallets on exact time I need or landing some close hits was always problem.

This 2v8 had serious rubber banding for me and for some reasons Im being on servers where I have 100 ping constantly which wasnt case in previous 2v8 modes like I would have little worse ping than in 1v4 normal mode but nothing crazy like 20-30% incresase not 100% and above (its hard to play when the opposite side hit you yeasterday and you get it today).

  • Because this bug makes bigger majority of the killers unplayable on like half of the maps so this bug is balance issue, it created it and even it is bug the outcomes are same as pallet density update doesnt matter if its intentional here or not the core problem is the same.

    It was not announced.

It did only come with a Bugfix Patch and when 2v8 was enabled, which makes it likely that somehow 2v8 Pallet Counts make it to 1v4.

It does not apply to every map, as I have written, I did not notice anything except for maybe one map which had too many Pallets when playing yesterday. Granted, most examples come from Crotus Prenn and I did not play on that yesterday.

If there would have been an actual change, it would be more consistent and not only to a single or very few realms.

Even if its not applying to all maps its very unbalanced just situation you pick m1 killer like pig, ghostface, legion and get outdoor map with this bug than your chances for win or having normal game without turbo tunneling are super low because there is no way m1 killers can get solid survivors in looping on time on maps that have 14-25 pallets instread of 11-14 not to mention in many cases there is just 3 meters distance between two pallets like how the hell can even some killer get hit there without range attack not a chance.

Yeah, luckily there is 2v8 now

Yeah thank god it last 14 days since it droped and I hope they extend 2v8 till they reduce pick chance of indoors to normal number as all maps and fix this issue with pallets spawning 100-150% more on outdoors maps.

I find it annoying that one of the top killers in the game is getting defended like this, over something that apparently wont even affect the Blight player. Incredible!

Not just any killer, the Golden child of DBD is threated here so his cult deffends him.

Blight has huge part of enjoyers in killer and survivor player base and in devs lines too it seems (best addons and hug tech for two years into removing hug tech and reworking addons that they were still top tier addons and after another addon nerf time he still sits on his rightfull place and last killers that challanged him were released versions of ghoul and krasue but they were still weaker than top tier blight player).

Personaly I dont wanna see blight gutted but making him 110 will do few things first is it will require from the killer player to be better with using his power and he will naturaly be more dependent on his power like all slower speed killers are. Second is he will miss hard nerfs to his rushes becaues 110 killer needs good power just look at nurse she deserves best power because she is slower than survivors.

So making him 110 and maybe adding to remove two tokens if he breaks pallet like ghoul has (10 seconds cooldown is for his all 5 rushes basekit so its just 4 seconds after breaking the pallet thats not that bad on one of best killer powers in the entire game) this is maybe all he needs and I think he will still sit high probably at the same spot because blights tru power comes from his rushes and thats how top tier blights get downs with him in majority of cases with his rushes not m1 hits so good blights will still be very strong and hold him where he is now.

Speed addons shouldnt maybe exist on blight or remove one token form him so he has more speed but less charges or make them more basekit Idk but they are busted on him since his old school addons like alch ring that gave you all rushes or compound 33 that broke pallets and hindered survivors with short cooldown.

survivor bots have been nerfed in the past for being too powerful

Yeah those instablinds were very fun to deal with or doging every range attack like nothing plus with not being mindgameable (which they are now, but sometimes on shorter loops with pallet or window they vault back and forth so on these they are but on loops like shack you cant get them with mind games they will always hold the distance).

  • Just getting indoors all night as killer hope they arent having higher pick chance than outdoors.

It's pretty obvious that there are players who are using software to identify killer players before they ready up. This is really annoying to encounter. When these type of players don't use in game cheats, they're undetectable, because the EAC obviously isn't detecting it on their end and we as players that notice this behaviour have no proof.

This is delaying matchmaking for everyone else and compromising the mystery of matches.

Something should be done about this. Maybe make it so if you dodge 3 lobbies you get a 5m penalty or something.

    Consider removing pre-game lobby entirely.

Its been like this for years, this plus ddosing is something you cant proof in DBD and these people will be untouched.

I'd rather imagine. Love coconut, but can't really stomach dbd streamers anymore. Appreciate the heads up though!

I get it, the outcome was that nurse bot fuctions like god like nurse main she was super accurate with her blinks even when line of sight was blocked like she had wallhacks like survivor bots (meaning she knows how far you are from her so you cant trick her) and he get 8 kills with her just was picking up and breaking gens with wraith and he didnt need to hit anyone strongest thing was from him bodyblocking and few times he faked uncloaking to scare survivors from gen that was highly progressed which strangly worked (Im slways getting dedicated survivors that know how to get that gen done sadly).

On average her bot got like 4-5 kills which alone isnt bad and only salvation is that nurse isnt played that much in 2v8 because if he did this with legion back then it would be easy win.

Spirits bot I find very hard to beat when she phases and you dont have any window or pallet to save you you cant mess her up like normal player same with nurse bot breaking los doesnt work on her.

  • This, you must stole it from devs balance team table.

lol I was wondering when this sort of thing was going to happen. Survivor bots are a nightmare with their wall hacks, but can be baited at specific tiles.

I can't imagine a bot nurse… peak dbd horror lol

You actualy dont need to imagine it there is whole video about it from coconut where he tried 8k with just nurse bot and succeeded, I dont think her bot was changed since then.

Spirit bot is too almost impossible to avoid.
