I think SWF is easier than playing killer. I think solo survivor is harder than killer and that might not even be true just a slower experience.
I don't rank as well being a solo survivor as I do killer. Obviously that makes sense because you should be better at a role that requires you to work with no one else rather than with 3 other people. That is if you split the tasks equally. I am 60 40 killer right now.
Solo surviving IMO requires patience I don't have. I think it requires patience because more times than not the other players will either be morons, selfish, or a team that will sandbag you. I am not one of those survivors who hide forever. I prefer to play striaght up and fair because its enough if the other survivors do the same. Get on the damn gen and do it until I have to run off. I actually want the hatch removed from the game FROM a survivor perspective. Simply because no one uses it the way I imagine it was intended as. A last ditch effort to escape in a match where the killer held the momentum. Turned into something where other survivors stop working and INTEND for you to die so they can use the hatch. Nearly half my matches as survivor where 1-2 people are dead and we need 2 or more gens turn into me trying to finish the match while the others sneak around hoping I die first.

Add the SWF icon next to the DS and that blade falls right off.

You read right. That's how the future changes to DS works. Obsession is now jumping from a survivor to another after they use DS.Okay but nobody has explained whats going to happen to STBFL or Dying light. I use Dying Light frequently and now you're telling me the effect is gone as soon as someone not dead uses DS? I'm kinda mad about that.
Will be pretty surprised if that is ACTUALLY how it plays out. Use DS and escape the killer....undo one of his perks. We will see when it happens.

Ask here as well as anywhere. So if you get unhooked and you now have 60 seconds to use D strike. What if the killer just tunnels you and waits to pick you up?
Then you don't get to use it. It has a counter now!
But it no longer has an indication? So in a way it could be a better perk to use as a group now? IDK....
-

So if you get unhooked and you now have 60 seconds to use D strike. What if the killer just tunnels you and waits to pick you up?
-
Yeah this is BS now that you mentioned it. I do see more DS and people can easily coordinate to go somewhere that there isn't a hook. Wasn't this the original sabo problem way back? Before I played.
So they passively buff DS and make it even more useful. Their way of making the useless hook offerings matter is by basically making it so the killer needs to use them just to have things the default way it used to be.
In a normal match anywhere other than the newb ranks. Having someone wiggle loose even once is an epic fail and going to cause you problems. They actually want to encourage it happening MORE?
-
When did this happen? Feels like I noticed this too. Anytime I down someone in an area that someone else died. The nearest hook is impossible.
They seriously did this intentionally? SO passive DS basically.
-
Has anyone else on Xbox here experienced a DDOS? Is there a way I can make it preventable?
-
What are the odds this would happen after I made this topic. I am going to have to quit playing this game because this is getting out of hand. Just having this game being the main one you play leads me to regular toxic situations nothing like today though.
Just played a match against a team that was really agressive at unhooks. One of those teams that acts like you're being a jerk if you don't ignore the fact someone went for a hook INSTANTLY.
2 of them message me my location. Then I get DDosed. I have NEVER been ddos before. EVER. Now I am worried about getting swatted or something.
What can I do about this? One of them actually seems to have their real name in their profile.
-
Good. The player base of this game....my god...
Just had a guy DC on his team early as killer. Then the 2nd person who was the obsession gave up and had me kill him. I had Dying Light. I couldn't resist it. I let the last guy to survive to do gens and go to the hatch. Simply because it was BS and impossible for me to lose at that moment and unfair.
To think ive been reported FIFTY times in the last 6 months for utter nonsense.
-
Im not gonna pull off 12 hooks a match. Let alone get to all the lanterns in time.
-
Even WITH the bug of getting credit for others escaping the progress was so slow. I am NEVER going to finish this or probably even get a 4th coin. How is increasing the killers progress by ONE going to help? Is this going to get extended massively? I vaguely saw the thing saying next week two offerings will appear in the tree. Its over in a few days isnt it?
-
I never slug and I always let the survivor take the hatch. Never again will I be a nice killer. I play on Xbox and g et reported all the time for simply winning. If I 4k...probably going to get at least 1 cheating report. Had my gamertag forcefully changed for the 2nd time now and I will have to pay $10 to change it.
So just being the toxic cry baby system exploiters they always have been. Sorry to the nice ones but there was NOTHING to gain by being a fair killer. I from now on out will be annoying to play against.

I seriously want to keep playing this game, but at rank 11 all I get are groups or partial groups with rank 6 or lower hidden in them. I actually quit my first match in over 200 hrs. This thread and SWF groups will drive me from a game that I want to keep playing. I am so upset right now. The last game I played (the only and only game I ever quit) I was playing low rank Waith and the teabagging and looping and all grouped together started not 30 min into it.Not even sure why I'm even posting on this threat I don't support any of the OP's opinions
Thats funny. My experience was really similar when I was at that point of the game too. I had never rage quit in anything in my life. Had so many hours in this game before doing it.
Then you level a few ranks outside of the newb ranks even though 11 isn't high. You finally run into a real SWF that know how to play and it hits you how badly they can tear through you if truly prepared. Good thing is you should be able to smoke even them with time. Just wait until you get further in the ranks.....god.
-
I don't enjoy playing against SWF because I know you hold all the cards to beat me. There is little I can do outside of getting lucky.
Also not interested in playing a lobby with 3-4 toolboxes when I don't have ruin. That is recipe for being very frustrated.
-
I don't think he's that awful either. I ranked from 8 to 2 using only him and double pipping most games.
I like using his Pill Bottle add on but one of the problems with Freddy is his add ons. His are without a doubt for some reason more rare than any other killer. Meaning his better items seem really rare in the skill tree. Then his regular addons are "overbalanced" IMO. Why does a tiny boost need a negative aspect too? That for sure needs the rework. The one add on that causes the obsession to start in the dream world is so rare than having leveled him 80 times I got it once. I forgot it existed...it doesn't even sound that great either. Couldn't they just wake up right away?
Right now having decent luck with Freddy and Ruin, Franklins Demise, Enduring, Dying Light.
Franklins Demise I like on Freddy because people seem to get really wreckless trying to recover their items after the hook. So more times than not I will go to that are and sure enough.

Save 900 shards to get pants because as of now I would be the underwear t shirt survivor.

No, they just added like a 1 second invunerability to prevent farming. It seems like a dead hard but it's just that invunerability doing its work. I recommend hitting the unhooker instead though since you'll get someone else on the hook sooner than waiting 1 second for the unhooked guy. You dont kill them but you add just a lil bit of pressure. The invunerability is bugged at times though, sometimes it doesn't work while other times it lasts WAY too long.Yeah the unhooker is who I am talking about. More and more lately. Mainly when I played a horrible game and its late and everyone is swarming around to save the one hooked guy. Its the only time I will stay near the hook because it would be dumb not to....
I will hit the guy doing the unhooking and its like the hitbox is totalyl jacked and I somehow don't get the hit even though it showed. Really a bad feeling when that happens.
-
and am I justi magining it or have cornfields somehow gotten even worse with the frame rate on console? Today I am losing people so easily...
-
I'm now rank 3. HOW in the world is DCing more common at this rank!?
If I use a Black Ward. Seems like it strongly encourages people to quit. Use a hidden offering....ppl are gonna quit. Just had a 4man team all DC because we got the institute as pig. Funny, the sneak is my least utilized killer function in the entire game so jokes on them.
-
Thats funny. I just had a 4k against a team with a guy who kept looping me around and around then tea bagging me. Eventually he screwed up and walked directly into me while looking backwards. So then when I hooked him I smacked him a few times and tried to mimic Freddys little wave he would do after he was sacrificed.
WAAHHH you're getting banned for bad manners! So upon reading that list. He actually breaks the rules by trying to intimidate me and apparently filing a false report on me. This game never ceases to amaze me.
-
Is there a list of actual bannable offenses somewhere?
-
For some dumb reason is it self care? I have for sure healed people for over 5 seconds worth of time.
-
Thats actually a cool idea. Wesker or a Tyrant variant. They could totally pull off a generic person as the tyrant with the whole "shadow organization" bio to fill in for Umbrella or something.
He could infect you and perhaps similar to the pig you'd need to find cures. I wouldnt want THAT but I could see something working...
-
How about making it so quitting doesn't make killers lose pips? It sounds like a semi reward because it could help you screw survivors over so how about.
Killer DCs and loses no pips. Gets no points and the survivors get a decent amount of points. Yeah I know it creates a weird farming situation potentially....
I got paired with the same killer who DCed on me yesterday andin the lobby I noticed the killer exit at the final second so I was like hmmmm wait. Sure enough I looked it up and it was that same killer.
The level of entitlement is insane. HOW DARE you call me out for screwing over 4 survivors for my own benefit. Now that I see you again I will DC at the last second of the lobby to be even more toxic!
A killer with 2,800 kills deranking on purpose and scared to face me. Pathetic.

I had a Billy DC on 4 party streamers, also on Xbox. Won't name shame though. When we asked why he just like "I forgot my mori". Like who the hell cares just play the match and get a crap ton of BP. We were a 4 man but we weren't going to gen rush we all wanted BP. He would see 2 maybe 3 gens pop the first chase and then no gens for a long time while we do totems and chests and saves. Then he's all "you'll get another in the next web it's no big deal". Bro, you just threw away like +100k with BBQ.Truth is he was scared of a 4 man and wanted to troll us.
I wouldn't even care if I got bullied with 4 streamers. Thats a good score no matter what happens.
-
Have the devs apparently commented that you need to quit 80% of matches to get banned?
That is what one responded to me. It sounds like nonsense and I hope that isn't true.
-
I am guilty of respecting pallets somewhat. Problem for me is they will just blast off to another pallet if they stun me. The other survivors do so much on the gens in the shortest little chases its not even funny. Then if they all can do that same function as good as eachother im like screwed entirely.
My style is to always break the pallets. Even when its a bad play. I just can't resist it and I don't mind it because even when its the wrong move I know I removed its potential usefullness later.
Perhaps walkling into pallets with the stun perk is needed at higher rank?
-
" dont do the standoff" As a survivor. You don't even need to get IN the hatch to win. You just need to be healthy and near it. Or even injured and a bit closer. If you know where the hatch is while healthy there is pretty much no way to lose. Yet its supposed to be this last ditch effort clutch type option? Its not, which is why the standoffs start in the first place. Aside from slugging...wth is a killer supposed to do to try and 4k with a hatch open? I prefer to look around for the survivor even though 95% of the time they just find the hatch.
I never liked it from either perspective. I feel like im the only survivor who does the hatch as "intended".
If the hatch is open. I try to go to the hatch. If teammates are alive. I try to escape with them
Aside from being killer and having matches end the INSTANT I get the third kill. Or facing an even semi capable survivor who if has any time what so ever to search for it. Usually by the time I land a hit on them they will be sped off near where it is and either a standoff starts or they have enough distance. I never bother doing the standoff.
I actually hate it more as a survivor. Oh look one person is dead. Its now maybe just me vs the killer now. Meanwhile at least 1 other person quits doing any work what so ever outside of sandbagging of course. Just trying to hang in long enough to hatch.
Its a shame. As me stumbling across the hatch are usually some of the most intense moments because I actually try to carry the team before the hatch is around meaning im not off in random places looking for a hatch because I intend for my team to die. So when I escape via hatch its usually in a chase.
Escaping is now worth 7,000 BP. Enjoy. Solved. Why survivors need a consolation prize and more reason to screw their team over is beyond me.

People are going to go the extra mile, regardless of if there's a reporting section in the end screen or not. A person is more likely to act on annoyances and unpleasant experiences than they are to act on good experiences. It's how humans work.So your saying after getting angry and losing. Then immediately seeing an icon that allows you to report the person. In all likelyhood doesn't increase the chances of them doing it? Cmon....
I don't know how many of these repliess are from people on Xbox but back when it used to show reputation. DBD was famous for lowering player reputation. Mainly because its so easy to do. Reputation didn't actually matter. Now the icon is gone entirely.
You're talking like there isn't other ways for people to complain or report people. If a person is angered or upset by something, they're more likely to go forward and try to complain about it than if someone is happy or satisfied. That's just how people work. If it isn't in the end screen section, it'll be elsewhere and they'll find it and report. Their false reports are more likely to hurt them, though, than the person being reported.
A person's rep is different than them actually getting in trouble, right? I've never played the Xbox version. Isn't rep kinda dumb, though? Not that it generally matters in game, since survivors can't see the killer unless that's different on Xbox, too. The original post was concerned with being reported because it was on the ending screen, but honestly that's more likely to get more positive votes out than negative as people (generally speaking) are more likely to go through hoops for complaints than they are for praises and so on.
You added to what I am trying to say. Precisely that is what people are more likely to do. Which is why its stupid to have that option there directly in their sight knowing how people act. Putting the option right in their face makes actually going through with the report more likely. As if those reports would have a shred of credibility even if the DBD devs were even looking into them. Plus if they apparently don't look into them on their side either. Then the props don't matter. The Xbox system I don't even think gets a flag when someone gives you props.
But no, I am not saying there isn't other ways. Not sure where that comes from. Made it pretty clear now a blatantly obvious point. Having that option there encourages angry people to abuse the option to report people.
Angry people are infinitely more likely to leave feedback. Even if it isn't reasonable. Putting that option directly in the game just makes all of that more likely. A bunch more unreasonable salty feedback. It doesn't serve a purpose .
The rep doesn't matter anymore on Xbox. So they say. It doesn't even show on the profile anymore but you can see your own rep. However mass reporting absolutely has an affect as it got my gamertag which is my own name abbreviated automaticalyl changed for being offensive. Despite it LITERALLY not saying anything at all other than being a abbreviated name.
Xbox support a side issue entirely is so bad. That I can't even say for sure I got it ironed out. I would've had to pay 10$ to change it to something else. What I think happened was they decided in my favor. Decided not to say a word to me. But let me change my tag back for free....who knows.
Edit. The exact amount of people who reported me for "cheating" also bothered to report my gamertag for being "offensive" I don't think that was a coincidence.
It's mostly just there for people who come across truly offensive/cheating stuff, but aren't savvy enough or caring enough to go the extra mile to protect other players. If someone reports you for something that isn't bannable, you have nothing to worry about. Looping, camping, teabagging, and so on aren't bannable, for instance. The person is more likely to get in trouble than you are. It isn't like it's YouTube and they just demonetize anyone who gets a report. It's actually very sketchy when they hide those kinds of things. It screams "we don't care if we have cheaters or people who do things against the rules."
And how is your gamertag offensive? That's more related to the community, but if your gamertag was actually offensive, you can't be surprised when people report it... that's like poking a bear and complaining when it mauls you.
...
It ISNT offensive. Which is the entire reason I brought this up in the first place.
What is it?
I dont want to put my actual name here so re read the very first post for an explanation on what it was. Simplified, it isn't a word and it doesn't say anything.

That is weird. I never knew there was a time limit. As killer there never seemed to be. She could've gestured...thanks random person.
I play on Xbox and it logs some things. I escaped 355 times. I probably escape less than 30% of the time so I've probably played possibly around 2,000 matches. I had never ONCE saw someone solo the hatch before.

If you make it more difficult to report, then all reports - including legitimate ones - are less likely to come through. This is a bad idea, period. If they don't issue console bans or suspensions. The function serves ZERO purpose what so ever on console. Other than to encourage people to throw a random report at someone who won. While were at it lets randomly report their name or picture too.
Yeah Im not talking about on PC.....again. If someone goes fullblown racism on you. You hit the report message in Xbox messages and they're DONE. The console version doesn't even have the end game chat. You also don't even get to describe the report through DBD. You just click on a picture and thats it. It just goes to Xbox. Even if it currently DID go to the devs the fact there is no bans or suspensions on console makes it pointless. Not like there going to sift through years of data after the fact even if they do implement that stuff later. Even most likely 85% of it just being people annoyed they lost.
As of now it does NOTHING on consoels except provide incentive to screw with people. Then cause me to have to deal with Enforcement to try and get my name back. Until it actually can serve the same function that it might on PC it shouldn't even be there for the consoles. IDK about PSN but I know for sure Xbox can be abused through it. Spoken first hand.

I play on Xbox and it does seem like a recent change has made the lobbies worse. I always couldn't relate to the long waits because for me they don't happen. I usually join a lobby with at least 1 other person INSTANTLY as survivor or killer.
Now as killer the lobbies are taking an unusual amount of time. When I played day 1 clown and spirit this only seemed to last like 1 day. Even as survivor Legion has dropped from being the killer 90% of the time to like 40% of the time. So I don't see any re ason this should be going on.
Also it being a Saturday you would think obviously increases the player pool. I haven't had one killer match since Legion was released that didn't have a long wait involved.

It being there absolutely encourages people to go the extra mile with reporting others. Even though 90% of the time its going to be someone reporting another person for either escaping closely. Or killing them.

"On a Tuesday" you realize for years and years now movies and games are nearly almost always released on a Tuesday?
Also, you own DBD. Why are you complaining to use then? Tell those Devs what you want in the game or else fire them!

On PC you would still have to press M1 every few seconds. :P What you are experiencing there is someone using a bot/macro (automated actions) to farm. That is really bad and can get you banned if reported (or caught by the system).
What is it about PS4 though? I've never seen anything like that on Xbox. I suppose it would be slightly better to have that than the idle killer because the survivors can max all their stuff out. See it and hear people on PS4 tlaking about those idle swinging killers all the time.

I didnt read every post but. How the hell did they find your info?
People, take your real name off of the Xbox thing. Its the most moronic feature ever and gets so on my nerves. I don't even stream because of it. First Xbox randomly starts showing you your own full name while flashing back between your gamertag. As if you might forget your own name or something. To make matters worse it started showing your email too. For the love of god why there is no option to take that off is beyond me. At the very least just set it so it won't show your name. And take your face pic up as im not sure how anyone would find your facebook if they didn't at least know what you look like.
-
To be ultra specific. I was healing in the corner of a jungle gym. This Hag was having a ton of trouble hitting anyone so I felt confident she might not even hear me healing or find me in time. She did. I can't see her until shes directly on top of me so she hits me and im just standing there. I was still performing the healing up until the point she hit me. Expecting me to be downed I was puzzled to see me standing there. So then I ran way at the final quarter of her attack cooldown and noticed my hit was gone.

You used it, obviously. You said it yourself, you were healing while injured, after the hit you were in injured state. Which means you fully healed, otherwise she'd down youI was only about 25% of the bar healed.
Ok so this was some kind of bug then. hmm

I escaped a match with the daily to take a new item. I found someones emergency kit with a styptic agent.
"Secondary action" I always thought that mean't you could insta heal and then deplete the item.
But I was healing and the Hag found me and as soon as they hit me I was still in injured state but the kit was now gone. ######### did it always work that way? Why do I never see that as killer? How exactly do insta heals work then...
Does that mean the ULTRA version would heal you to FULL health when the killer thinks a hit is going to down you?
Theres an addon for one health state and one for FULL health. You hit another button to use it. If you didnt, then you had some good timing, or weird lag.
Did you heal and then she hit you? Like did she have Franklin's demise and you dropped the medkit after healing regularly maybe?
I was injured and started healing. She appeared and I was SOL. She hit me and I for some reaso nwas still injured but the kit was now gone. I didn't use the add on to my knowledge.
How does the Ultra one work then? You could be downed and heal yourself to full instantly? Or is it only for using on other people?

I want to know how many hours the people on console who did this legitimately have. As in did zero farming fori t.I haven't played insane amounts of the huntress but I would assume I haven't done this a single legit time. Only when I start playing catch with survivors who want to try dodging.
I'm not the best killer surely not best Huntress but its a rare situation IMO. I would have to lose someone who is injured. Them then not heal and be really far away from me and I end up downing them. Because of that I never even get chances to TRY this.
Most of the ones I get are from Nurses calling. It has a 28m range so if you can get lucky and the survivor is healing behind something you can lob an axe through like a window it counts. Get the odd 1 from BBQ and survivors not healing up to gen rush into adrenaline.
But yeah I have played since day one and haven't gotten it. I play a fair bit too. I have all survivors p3 and every perk on every killer at p3 which is probably equivalent to p5 or p6 and never got the achievement.
On xbox it tracks how often its happened. 11 times for me.
On at least 2 matches I ended up playing with the survivors by practicing throws them dodging as well and healing up. I downed them from a distance so far I couldn't even really SEE them anymore yet it didn't seem to count all that much. We did this for enough time for all 3 survivors in the little group to be a sliver away from bleeding out each time they got downed.
24 meters...did they change that? I swear it used to be even further.

I've never once waited 10 minutes. Never once waited 5 minutes. If I wait 3 minutes it feels like a bugged lobby.

Sometimes killers lose to purposely derank. Ranking can basically be a punishment in this game depending on how you play. The standing still and hitting this is them being nice. Not sure why playstation people talk about this more often though. How do you set your controller to do that? You can't on xbox. Its allowing you to get hit and heal if you want. Everyone can max out another category by taking those hits.
It can sometimes be a bit less fun when you reach a rank where ALL you play against is SWF who have a million hours and every perk and flashlight available to make getting any kills at all a pain in the ass.

30 seconds...uhm no.
It seems like bait to me too. Satirical. Wait, individual killers actually have their own advantages? Nah, we need to nerf her asap she can't have any kind of useful tool. Traps are too useful and can only be destroyed by flashlights and voided entirely with crouching. But crouching takes too much effort so we need to change this. Really?
lmao, take the advantage Urban evasion has and make it universal. If it worked that way. Absolutely no one would ever set off Hag traps ANYWHERE other than placed between the random doorway or something. Why would anyone ever run near a hook or a gen if walking simply voided it? lmao combine that with flaslights and she wouldn't even have a single advantage.

I could just NEVER in good conscious pay that much. That is just throwing money away even if you love the game beyond belief and want to support them.
It's all relative. Whether you think the cosmetics are cheap or expensive. If you are in college and you are barely making ends meet then 10 dollars is a lot. If you are in high school living with your parents working a part time job with no expenses and a fair amount of disposable income then dropping 10 dollars on a hobby isn't a big deal.
To me the biggest factor is how much time do you spend playing the game? If you were to calculate your expenditure on a per hour basis then how much value are you getting? A 2 hour movie that costs 8 dollars is a 4 dollar per hour expenditure. To me, this game is one of my main sources of entertainment. For a hobby, it is incredibly cheap.
I realize that for this game to continue getting balance and event updates, community reps keeping the players informed, customer service resolving issues, etc, etc, it costs Behaviour money on an ongoing basis. The initial sale price of the game and a few DLC's aren't by themselves going to be enough. The more profitable the game is then the longer they will continue supporting it.
So even if you personally, can't afford or don't want to continue supporting the game then obviously that is your choice. But it is in your own best interest to avoid discouraging other players from supporting the game. Cosmetics are 100% optional. You don't need them to play. So if you don't want to spend the money on them then don't. But instead of trying to make players who do support the game feel bad about wasting their money, you should be grateful to them for supporting the game you enjoy playing. So you're welcome.
Well that was a quick shift.
I bought all the DLC. You're welcome.
