  • How about an add-on for Pig that plays a jack-in-the-box jingle (like Pop Goes the Weasel, Ring Around the Rosie, or London Bridge is Falling Down) while an RBT's timer counts down?

  • They should either leave Tuned Carb's effect in place and remove the drawback entirely (since it is a purple add-on).

    OR

Give it waaaaay more benefits to make up for the reduced base speed (higher heat limit, better cooling, better turning, reduced noise, etc).

Personally, I think the second option would be a little more fun and unique, but the first would probably be easier to implement and work with.

  • I'd probably cut my losses and move on to other games if I lost everything I'd done up to this point.

I've been a pretty solid fan of DbD (hence why I'm still playing after almost 3 years) and there's still nothing else like it, but I don't think I'd be willing to commit the amount of time necessary just to retread things I'd already done.

Shouldn't Trickster have his own category?

I mean, what category would you make for him then?

Based on how Trickster liked to torture his victims before entering the Fog and how much he giggles while chasing people around now, he certainly seems pretty thrilled with his new job to me.

  • Definitely a big fan of "Inspiration" (Jeff) and "Toymaker" (Twins). Both of those characters deserve some more cosmetic-attention anyway.

But wouldn't be all that surprised if the Susie-Bear design fared well as a sort of "Mr. Puddles 2.0".

  • My favorite to use regularly is:

Iron Will + Dead Hard + WGLF + Aftercare (which sometimes gets swapped for BT, Babysitter, or We'll Make It)

Otherwise I occasionally like to run loadouts built around Head On or Lithe.

  • Improving the RNG on her traps would be a good first step. Probably could stand to get a treatment similar to Trapper's traps (less likely to remove it on the 1st or 2nd box, but more likely to remove it on the 3rd or 4th).

Otherwise, she mostly just needs an add-on overhaul. Most of her current add-ons are pretty wimpy and mainly only have to do with the RBT-side of her power (she only gets like 3 Ambush add-ons and 2 Crouch add-ons out of 20).

Though I'd love a QoL buff for her where her Ambush "roar" would play as she begins dashing instead of during the charge-up.

I was expecting a fluffy animal picture tbh in that post...

    Not bad hits though ngl,

But i still gotta challenge your wholesome pictures of cute fluffy animals..

    Well, it's not an animal...

But how about a picture of plushie Pyramid Head instead?

  • Yup!

If you reached Tier 30 in the free side of the Rift and then decided to get the rift pass, you would get all rewards up to Tier 30 on the premium side of the rift too.

  • I saw exclusively Trickster on the day he released and the day after that. Since then, I have only played against him one other time.

Even more surprisingly though, I have yet to run into a single opponent using the buffed Wraith or Blight.

  • AfterScare:

Oh, you'll take care of 'em all right...

When a survivor performs a hook rescue or completes a heal on another survivor while further than 32m from you, you are granted the Undetectable status effect for 20 seconds and their aura is revealed to you for 3/4/5 seconds.

  • Demo's portals are not visible to survivors until they've been "activated" (by Demo teleporting to/from them).

Then survivors can see and seal them, but Demo can also gain Killer Instinct info from them.

  • That's just the new counter to DS and Head On.

They can't stun you if you slug the entire locker.

  • Fav lobby theme? Pyramid Head or Trickster for sure.

Fav Terror Radius/Chase music? Probably Oni or Deathslinger.

  • If Trickster's release was a slap in the face, then Legion's release must have been an uppercut (and Twins' was a sucker punch).

  • I think it's in a better state now that it's finally been tuned to be a true anti-tunneling perk.

And if time reveals that DS isn't doing this job well enough, it could always get future buffs to reinforce it's function in this role.

  • I am just so happy to see Wraith on the upper half of a tier list for once.

It's been a long time coming.

  • I can mostly agree with #1 and #3, but I don't like #2. Admittedly, I'm not a fan of the Hindered Status to begin with, so I'd rather just avoid using it entirely.

#1: I'm not sure about completely refreshing Main Event on a down, but allowing him to auto-recharge a portion of it for every health state of damage he inflicts (including downs) and allowing him to stay in Main Event for longer would improve his snowball potential and better reward skilled use of that ability.

#3: I think survivors should have to manually remove knives to decrease their laceration meter. Have each knife take 2 seconds to remove and require the survivor to be stationary to perform the interaction. If the survivor was suffering from Deep Wounds and Laceration at the same time, then Mending would take priority over knife-removal.

Additionally, more as a gimmick than something truly useful, I think it'd be kinda neat if they let Trickster throw knives while carrying a survivor (albeit at a reduced "fire-rate" since he'd only have one hand free). This would make him unique as the only killer who could actively use their power while holding a survivor.

Wait, another question, does Dragon's Grip's effect carry onto other gens with surveillance?

Dragon's Grip works similarly to Overcharge: it only affects the gen you kicked (and it can only affect one gen at a time, unlike Overcharge).

Surveillance simply activates on any gen that is actively regressing, whether the killer kicked them or used a perk to initiate regression.

  • I'll offer the same solution I did on the last post I saw complaining about this tactic:

Have DC'd survivors undergo a sacrifice animation after quitting the trial (I'd just use the EGC sacrifice animation for simplicity).

If the penultimate survivor quits in an attempt to give their teammate the hatch, the killer would then have until the DC'd survivor's sacrifice animation ends to try and prevent the escape (same amount of time that they'd get upon sacrificing the 3rd survivor normally).

It'd probably be the easiest and fairest way to handle the "DC Tech".

  • Dang, I was beaten to the punch on both Detective's Hunch AND Dark Devotion?!

Guess I'll just fall back to my third option: Aftercare!

It's just Bond with extra steps, but the whole no-range-limit thing is pretty nifty. If you can fully activate it on all three of your teammates, the amount of information it provides is incredible. Having the perk completely reset itself when you get hooked kind of sucks, but it's activation requirements are very generous (and it'll auto-reactivate on whoever rescues you).

It's an enjoyable perk to bring as part of a pro-altruism build.

  • Resident Evil is still one of (if not the) biggest franchises in the survival horror genre. It would certainly be worthy of a spot in DbD.

Honestly, it seems like a really good time for this to happen too. RE8 is only a couple months away and DbD's 5th Anniversary arrives about a month after that. Having a Resident Evil chapter around that time would probably be a win-win for Capcom and BHVR; it's bonus publicity for the new game (which might boost its sales) and the widely recognizable RE name will probably bring a lot of people into (or back to) DbD.

  • I so badly hope Insidious gets a rework in the future. IMO, it's the killer perk most deserving of one (even over controversial perks like NOED and fellow junk perks like Monstrous Shrine).

It's a horribly-designed perk that, in practice, does nothing but facilitate camping. The only killer who ever had an interesting use for it was Freddy, but he lost that tactic when his power was reworked.

  • It'd probably be best if Jason was good enough to be competent, but had a power that was fun to use. If he's engaging to play but not hilariously weak, then I think he would be a successful addition. Bonus points if that power is also reasonably fun to play against.

The last thing we need is another killer that is pretty strong, but mutually boring to play as/against (post-rework Freddy).

And obviously, if we get a killer that's both boring AND weak, then it would be a major mishap in power design (like Old Legion).

  • My Killer is either Rank 1 or 2 (I forget where it was at last time I played).

I'm Rank 4 as Survivor. Would be higher, but it just takes soooo long to get into a survivor match at any time of day.

I've hit Rank 1 as both roles plenty of times and usually only dip below Red Ranks when I take a long break from the game.

  • I'm actually not against Exhaustion-inflicting add-ons, but none of the ones that previously did or still do exist should last for nearly as long as they do.

I think a green (or rarer) add-on that would allow the killer to inflict up to 5 seconds of Exhaustion maximum would probably be fine. A decent survivor has the chance to recover from this in a chase. However, Clown's old Solvent Jug (30 seconds) and Huntress's Toxin/Venom (30 & 90 seconds) were overkill.

Wait someone else came up with this? lmao this is a build of my own I've had fun with for a while, I even created the same name. I can't believe it's actually a thing.

It's definitely been a named build since at least January 2020, but I think the overall concept has loosely existed ever since Ghost Face was released (Furtive Chase, while a cruddy perk, was the first killer perk that could cycle the Obsession). Then Oni brought us Nemesis and made the build better and a little more popular.

I used a loadout along the lines of Rancor Roulette sporadically after Oni came out as part of a "Hunt the Obsession" joke build I liked to run (which later wound up being really useful for some of those "hook the Obsession" tome challenges). I have no idea who may have actually used it first or thought of that name though.

  • Favs:

    • Huntress
    • Demogorgon
    • Blight
    • Wraith
    • Leatherface

    Mehs:

    • Hag
    • Trapper
    • Freddy
    • Twins
    • Plague
  • Poised is really situational and you won't usually have an immense amount of control over when it activates, plus it can only be used up to 5 times in a trial. If you're okay with that, then you might enjoy it.

Otherwise, I second trying out Dance With Me or Deception instead. They give you more control over their effects, can be used far more frequently, and make for pretty good combo pieces in other builds.

  • Without Rancor we don't have Rancor Roulette, and that just wouldn't do.

  • Hatch should still spawn like it would if the penultimate survivor was sacrificed.

The ideal fix would be to delay its opening by an amount of time equivalent to how long the sacrifice animation takes. In this way, even if a survivor DC's to give away the Hatch, the killer still has the same opportunity to stop the last guy as they would have received from a normal sacrifice.

Heck, this would probably be relatively easy to implement by just having the EGC-Sacrifice animation trigger for survivors who DC.

  • They still do PTBs (Playable Test Builds) for new chapters and often also do them for large mid-chapter updates, especially when existing maps or characters are being reworked.

The one for All-Kill with Trickster happened back during the first week of March.

  • I don't use Twitter anymore so I can't actually vote, but I'm looking forward to seeing who will come out on top.

A - I agree with Bubba. Though he has steep competition; Deathslinger and Clown also have gruesome and excellent mori's.

B - I actually like Doc's. It's short, sweet, and simple. I always thought the "fried eyes" of the survivor afterwards were kinda funny too.

C - Hag. Like she even has competition in this bracket (Legion's is okay, but Huntress and Hillbilly have underwhelming mori's).

D - I like Pig's; it's a loose reference to a move John used in the first SAW film.

E - Shape. Trapper barely has a mori, I don't like Spirit's, and Plague's is just... uncomfortable to watch.

F - Trickster. Wraith's is another of the outdated mori's like Trapper and Billy. The animation quality of Twins' mori feels low.

My overall favorite would be a tossup between Bubba, Clown, or Shape. I'm inherently less fond of mori's that exclusively play out in 3rd-person.

  • On the killer side: Dark Devotion. It's not usually a particularly powerful or useful effect (though it does have goofy synergy on Doctor and combo's well with some other perks), but it is so freakin' hilarious when it works. Kinda hard to make use of at higher levels of play, but it's at least an underused perk; even the experienced players don't expect it.

For survivor: Pharmacy. A guaranteed medkit plus that bonus chest-opening speed is pretty nifty. While it'll always be second fiddle to Plunderer's Instinct, I enjoy running it every once in a while for a bit of variety.

  • Survivor:

    -Aftercare

-Head On (Apply directly to forehead)

    -We're Gonna Live Forever

    -Iron Will

    Killer:

-Save the Best for Last (probably my favorite overall perk in DbD)

    -I'm All Ears

    -Dark Devotion

    -Devour Hope

  • Kinda gives off some Lara Croft vibes with the heavy themes of exploration and mystery.

    Pretty cool concept overall!

  • Probably Claudette. I just dislike how easily she can disappear into the shadows and foliage on most maps. The very very few times I've ever had a match effectively be taken hostage by the survivor team and last longer than 30 min, it's always been because a group of 3+ Claudettes decided to hide around the map without ever touching gens.

Nea and Laurie are reasonably likely to be used by experienced players who want to show off their looping skills (or perks) and be a nuisance, but at least they're interactive. I'd rather chase an uppity survivor than need to check every bush on the map for a sneaky Blendette.

  • The only killers I actively avoid playing (as in I instantly recycle daily rituals related to them) are Trapper and Hag. I don't find their web-of-traps playstyle to be particularly fun. I can use them well-enough to achieve good results on occasion, but winning with them just isn't all that satisfying for me.

I also usually skip out on playing Plague and Ghost Face. I want to like them, but their powers still feel far too buggy and unreliable for my tastes.

  • Tenacious - Repair a generator as the last survivor alive in a trial

Gasp! (Nurse Only) - Using the Anxious Gasp add-on, cause a survivor to scream because you blinked near them (I don't think most add-ons get their own unique score events like this).

Game Over (Pig Only) - Kill a survivor with an RBT (Didn't know this was a unique score event until recently, thought it otherwise just counted as the "Kill" event like mori's do).

  • I think FNaF would be fine as a possible killer-only paragraph (similar to Leatherface), but wouldn't make for a good overall Chapter.

If I'm remembering it correctly, the FNaF protagonists all have 1st-person perspectives. The player never actually sees what these characters look like and all other characters are presented through audio or 8-bit minigames (and I'm not taking some character from the books, we're keeping this exclusive to the main series games). Thus we don't really have a good survivor candidate.

Additionally, if it came with a map (because everyone's clamoring for a new map after almost a year of updates), it'd probably wind up being one of the restaurants or facilities iconic to FNaF. ...Which means another licensed indoor map. Based on the track record for other licensed indoor maps (like The Game, Underground Complex, and Midwich), it would probably look fantastic and be full of neat easter eggs but otherwise offer very mediocre gameplay.

  • The old winter event theme was fantastic with the deep chimes and pounding drums.

Otherwise, I'm a big fan of the Silent Hill lobby theme. Really glad this remained in the game with Pyramid Head.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cr_AgjIbfx4

  • Legion. A killer who, at their launch, had a power which was simultaneously very weak and highly exploitable. It generally created very boring and unpleasant gameplay for both sides. I'm not sure any other killer has been reworked so quickly or frequently after their release.

Twins is a close second for releasing as a buggy and incomplete package. Their chapter was an absolute mess.

  • I could see it. Frank West would certainly be fun to play as, plus he'd have potential for some cosmetic variety (since he tried on pretty much all the clothes in Willamette). They could even add some of the other protagonists and/or psychopaths as legendary skins (just imagine Clown dressed up as Adam from DR1 or Slappy from DR2).

If BHVR ever works with Capcom to make a Resident Evil chapter happen, they could lay the groundwork for a Dead Rising cameo too.

  • If they ever retroactively create maps for the past three chapters (and that's a very big "if", since they've previously said it was unlikely to happen), then I'd probably spring for an urban map to go with the All-Kill theme.

I'm sure they could create some neat settings to go with Blight or Twins, but having a metropolitan mixture of wide city streets and claustrophobic alleys with some buildings to enter could be an interesting setup for a new map. They'd have to be careful to not make "Haddonfield #2" though.

If a city map ever does happen, I really hope they'll consider sprinkling some L4D easter eggs around it; that IP would also fit well under this concept (even if Bill was only part of a paragraph, not a chapter).

  • For the longest time, I honestly though the Sloppy Butcher icon was what remained of some upside-down dude's legs and not just a mutilated pig head. Probably an association influenced by countless hours in the Left 4 Dead games.

  • Surveillance is a combo piece. It isn't really worth bringing by itself, but it has great value when combined with other perks that cause gen-regression (like Ruin, Surge, Oppression, etc).

Combo pieces don't get used much outside of their combos though, since their value is mostly tied to how well the perk they're synergizing with is working. Without the combo piece, they often just don't do enough on their own to justify bringing them over stronger or more interesting perks.

It's a lot like how you won't usually see someone using Undying without another Hex to protect, or Dance With Me without Quick & Quiet and/or Lithe.

  • Pig: She has a surprisingly high kill rate despite generally being viewed as one of the weaker killers by the community (not helped by nerfs she received when the EGC was introduced). She's mostly in the same realm as Demogorgon where she would be in a fantastic state with some light "fine-tuning" of her power and an overhaul to her underwhelming add-on complement.

Dark Devotion: Not underrated because it's good (in general it really isn't), but definitely underrated because it's hilarious. And since it's almost never used, most survivors don't expect it. Opens up a world of odd mindgames that can sometimes keep even experienced survivors off-balance.

Detective's Hunch: I still can't believe this didn't become more popular during the Ruin/Undying meta. It's a tad situational due to its activation requirement, but it's a very solid perk for finding interactables in the environment. It's even better when combo'd with a map (not that survivors usually bring those either).
