You could've also just died to the EGC if the survivors opened the gates and it would've got you out without DCing. But this is bannable, yes, if there were survivors left and the EGC hadn't even started yet that's reportable.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing a modified version of this tbh. Maybe if you came into the lobby as a solo queue, you could see the Perks the Killer was running. I know this helped me a TON when I was a new player, just seeing the most common Perks, and especially when I had a question about something happening in the match.
There's ways to abuse this though of course, friend from wherever in the match too, you just happened to load into the same match as them. Then you message them of course. I just think that new players, who aren't going to stick around when they die, should at least know what took them out instead of having to wait until the end.
There were a few times in my first couple dozen matches that I honestly thought the Killer was cheating, until I looked at their perks + add-ons and went "Ohhhhhh. Well that's a neat Perk/add-on. I have to remember that when playing against X Killer."
I think they could add it back with something like a "match history" tab that has the results screen of previous matches and also tells you what the map was. Maybe it refreshes every day so it doesn't become overflowed.

Games at red ranks are going to be boring AF... gonna be prolly spirit or Billy only because others are to weak without ruin. And if it's not them 5 gens pop in 3 minutes and game over.. no one pips or makes points. :(
There will be a lot of Nurse and Freddy too I think (at least the fun Freddy players who don't use Ruin or rely on pop and swing chains will still be playing him, because Freddy doesn't need Ruin at all)
-
Thompson House is awful for almost every killer apart from maybe Spirit and Nurse. I also don't believe you when you said you ended chases quickly purely because you were on that map (the loops of pain come to mind where you can keep a killer like GhostFace chasing you there for at least half the match, because shack > long wall jungle gym > Cow tree > other jungle gym and a bunch of coldwind loops scattered around it is completely fair and balanced.)
Don't feel bad about losing on a coldwind map because it's mostly out of your control without ruin.
-
Her phasing sounds are kind of bad right now, but ultimately it's the same thing that happened with Nurse: as soon as they lost their strongest abilities and add-ons they jumped ship because they realised they relied on those add-ons to do well and you need to actually kind of try with her now. We might see a few more spirits in the next update when her bugs get ironed out but I doubt it because she doesn't have broken add-ons anymore, which obviously makes her the worst killer in the game now.
-
I sort of respect head on players. It's not the best perk but it's definitely one of the most fun perks to use. But I get why people get annoyed when they get stunned. Getting stunned and having your control taking away from you and your camera jolting down for 5 seconds isn't particularly interactive or fun. If it's enough to make someone DC, however, they should really consider taking up a new hobby for a while
-
The snap out of it changes are all fine apart from the fact that the progress remains if you stop snapping out. You can ignore the skillchecks entirely and it's so dumb. Either make it so there's instantly a skill check like overcharge when you start snapping out, or make it a single bar again but reduce the time required.

I remember wraith being reworked and everybody saying that he was still worthless
Took over a year before a streamer tried him and realised. You know, He's not that bad after all.
It took a year before a streamer tried him, one that's already good at the game and knows how a killer works, plays a very boring playstyle and pips because Wraith was always good at pipping and that's it, and that's how that streamer determines killer viability. Legion does the exact same thing but no-one in their right mind would say Legion is good. If we're basing it on the ranking system he's the best killer in the game.
-
I find legion fun and relaxing to play tbh. Even with their changes recently they're still absolute trashpiles of killers but there's something about playing bad killers like Legion and Wraith that I like except clown.

The problem with giving survivors information is that it's limited as to what information the survivors can have without making her a trash killer.
I heard somewhere about giving Spirit blue scratch marks whilst she's phasing so the survivors don't know where she is but know where she HAS been.
Idk, someone would suggest that and the same old people would come and say "No SpiriT's FiNe".
She is no way fine, the way she is atm
I'd rather the Spirit's phasing sound to survivors not be omnidirectional and you could actually tell where it's coming from. If they also made it so you'd hear her phasing sounds while in a chase or her terror radius that would also be enough for survivors imo. Prayer beads can change the phasing sound back to the way it is now.
-
As much as I hate how brainless Spirit is, making sound omnidirectional while she is phasing is a ridiculous idea. Killers need good sound to track survivors, and good sound doesn't even exist right now as a lot of people have already said. That change would make her really bad and it's not the change she needs. It's the survivor's side that needs to have more information about her power, not the killer having less

Their is 0 % chance of you being awake in a chase. Just like their is 0% chance of knowing if the pallet you are running too is fake if you haven’t been to that area. Just like their is 0% chance of stopping Freddy from spamming all of his pools at every loop.
Hence Freddy is unfun and his power does not rely on skill. It relies on spam and luck
Well you're right. There is no chance of knowing for sure which pallets are real if you haven't been to that area before. It's almost like his ability punishes the people who sit on gens in a corner and don't take a look around the map at the start of the game...wish there was a way you could counter the pallets such as doing a lap around the map or staying awake...
I'm not gonna say Freddy isn't strong or takes skill. He's a very easy to use killer and is very effective by just existing, but he loses a lot to good survivors who know what they're doing.
-
Tbh there are quite a lot of perks that have unwritten features to them, such as spine chill still affecting fast vaults, and perks like open-handed not really working with a few other perks as well as descriptions needing a slight tweak with their wording but I think it's ok.
What I WOULD want is for a lot of the killer add-ons to show actual numbers instead of "moderately, considerably...". I'd much rather have the numbers and percentages in the descriptions than a vague word which will force me to just look up the values on the wiki anyway. Giving us actual numbers such as seconds for charge time, terror radius etc is much more intuitive and would help literally every single person who plays this game. Idk I just hope the Devs will eventually do this.

Legit strat imo there's many ways altruistic survivors can get the guy off the hook including that 1 perk that gives em a extra hit if the killer wants to camp 1 guy he can suffer as more gens get repaired if anything add 1 more Gen or onli a 2 hook game over ;)
Maybe against most killers, but it's impossible to save, or even trade if a Doctor is facecamping. At least for now, it won't be possible in the new patch because of his rework.
-
This will never happen because they want to keep the current age rating. Excessive gore could potentially get it banned in some countries and that's bad for business

Who i feel is weak would be trapper. He can snowball really well but usually it's too late before he get's to that point. Also he's one of the few killers who's power can be disabled by base survivors
Simplest fix i can think of is to make him start with more traps so he doesn't need to run all across the map to get them and increase the time it takes to disarm a trap
Unpopular oppinion but close to viable i would say Legion. Reduce his cooldown of FF and make it less punishing on misses and i feel he can be a really good killer
Someone had the idea (I think it was Puppets actually) to just give Trapper all of his traps at the start of the match. Honestly I don't think this would be that broken or anything, it just means you get to actually play the videogame faster.
(Also pls give Trapper the ability to reset traps without having to pick them up and place them again it's such an outdated and boring way of resetting a trap)

This game made me hate keys. I was playing as a nurse, doing the 3 gen strat against three survivors when I see this survivor use a key to escape. I close it hook a survivor. When I see this other survivor rescue the dude with borrowed time, then they both go to the hatch and escape. I could have gotten them all but because of two keys I got robbed.
It happens. Bring a Mori or Franklin's when you see keys next time if they bother you

If you’re a decent killer you remember who has dead hard and you wait for it. It’s not rocket science. BT countered by hitting the unhooker. The only slightly valid argument you have here is Decisive strike.
You can't counter someone who uses dead hard to make it to a window or pallet when they screw up...you literally can't unless you're nurse or something.
-
Pig because it just feels fun and balanced to play against her. Apart from the RNG of the traps there's absolutely no BS to her chase game and I like that.
Myers because I really like Halloween as a franchise, and his chases are fun when you don't get yeeted by a 99'd tier 3.
Demogorgon because he also feels pretty fair to play against, and his chase music absolutely slaps
Finally Billy (no infectious). Fast paced matches and fun chases.
-
I'm usually pretty chill about it, but when gens go by in literally 4 minutes when I'm trying to get used to no Ruin when playing a killer like Wraith or Myers it just makes me not want to play those killers anymore and to go back to Freddy, Nurse and Billy (I don't have Plague levelled up much at all so I don't have corrupt unlocked, but it's the next perk I'm grinding for). Don't get me wrong I love playing these three killers, but I also just feel like I can't get anything done with the others unless I'm running good add-ons etc (especially on Wraith, he's garbage without a bell add-on or windstorm)
-
It's not just the survivors it's also your choice in killers. If you play killers like clown and Wraith expect a much harder match.
-
Curious as to why you would hide your rank in the top right of the screen but then show the results screen that has your rank on it...lol. But the only thing you need to do as survivor is get a few gens done, save a few people and escape and you'll easily double pip.
-
Clown, Myers and Oni. Oni and Myers both have terrible early-games, possibly THE worst. The new Ruin is going to be completely useless on these two killers especially.
-
Never. Farming is boring and I'd rather just get to the next match. As survivor I'll signal to the killer that I just want to be hooked and if he doesn't I'll DC. As killer I'll sometimes give the last person hatch if I find it quickly.
-
Think of it the same way as rushdown playstyles in fighting games. What else should your opponent do? They have to bring your health down to 0, but there are slower ways of doing it and different characters that have other playstyles. Same with DbD. You could do equal amounts of chasing, saving, repairing, healing...or you could sit in the back of the map AFKing on gens with a commodious toolbox without even thinking about interacting with the match or the killer. That's gen rushing, and it's just a way of describing those kinds of players.

Lol killers used it because they feel entitled to 4k. If we're gonna insult eacother though and ignore the literal facts that's cool too. Y'all want Gen speeds decreased, map size decreases, all simply because you feel entitled to getting a 4k. Well, the Game isn't balanced that way, it's not the intent of it. The developers even said blatantly that it's not the intent and still y'all pull the blanket over your eyes and make these obsurd suggestions all based around your 4k. This isn't a bait post it's just hard facts that you can't swallow and that's on you.
I'm pretty sure everyone would be in favour of smaller maps, not just killers. Big maps are boring as #########, having to run across them all is tedious. It isn't even about killers feeling "entitled" to a 4k (great buzzword by the way), killers just want to have a decent chance at getting anything done on nearly half of the maps without feeling powerless because they literally can't get to generators before they pop.
-
I don't think I'd like a pregame map. That would make it kind of boring imo. Post-game could be a fun addition I suppose, if there was a way to distinguish between each player (Then I would know what the P3 Claudette was REALLY up to ;) )

You can still 4K as nurse? I thought that was impossible after the changes, at least that's what the forums taught me anyways.
Right?! I thought she was "gutted". It's crazy that people who were good with Nurse before still completely destroy survivors, who would've thought that she requires skill now :O
-
I may be late but you definitely can do it and not be hit. The survivor just has to be completely braindead to get hit when they're doing it.. You can literally tantrum into the hook as Leatherface, who's chainsaw has the most active hitbox in the entire game, and the survivor won't get hit. It's an exploit, plain and simple, ######### anyone who tries to defend it. But I suppose on the bright side it's a free facecamp because you can bet that the one doing the exploit isn't getting out of the match.

Nurse's is a must have on Huntress. Iron maiden is a really bad perk, you search lockers fast enough without it or you can just run add-ons for that. You'll wanna replace ruin with corrupt when the new patch comes out. And then BBQ is another obvious one for her. So yeah that's basically the definitive Huntress build right now.

I got about 40 hours into the game, im doing pretty well as a killer (Rank 5) and survivor (Rank 8) having fun but after every game the chat is pure toxic spew. If I am a killer its "Oh, you use these perks you're #########?" "You're a tunneler, you are just bad you gotta go for the same person" It's like, if I spot them after they are rescued am I suppose to go.. ok I downed him before better leave him alone and go look for someone else. If I am a survivor I get called back because I loop a killer for a long time. I have ran across way more super toxic people than I have people who just say nothing.
I have played a lot of games in my time, lots of toxic people but this game takes the cake by far. This game should just remove the chat at the end of the game completely and let the angry children punch a wall or something.
If the endgame chat is getting to you I somewhat doubt you've played "a lot of games". It's tame as hell compared to a lot of other games, and there's this magical button you can press that hides the endgame chat.
-
You were running Thompson's mix and tuning guide with infectious and he was talking about how BBQ is op...he's complaining about the wrong things lmao

@Yung_Slug said:
You all bring up some good points. However, I would like to note that Billy and Nurse can usually go from door to door with no setup, and Trapper can just set traps right in front of the gates.
Billy has a short cooldown after he finishes chainsawing and also a startup. He also usually has to keep in mind any obstacles in the way. He can almost never chainsaw from 1 exit gate to the other in one sprint, there's almost always something in the way. Nurse has a cooldown and the fatigue at the end of her blink, and Trapper has no mobility and you can just work on both gates at once.
-
Monitor and infectious are both great on him. You need some slowdown because he has the single worst early-game out of all the killers so maybe corrupt is a good idea as well. For add-ons, the topknot is completely busted, and that's really all I know about his add-ons
-
The rift is finished...all you'd get from it are 60K bloodpoints which you'd get from like 2 or 3 matches.
-
Freddy is just the definition of a strong killer now. Very easy to pick up and play, not many weaknesses, strong abilities, good map pressure... he's in a decent spot in my opinion. I play him sometimes and feel comfortable not running Ruin or slowdown perks on him, and the games are pretty relaxed and fun and I feel like I actually have pressure as a killer for once.
-
Hillbilly is one of the most fun killers to play and to play against, and is pretty balanced without add-ons. Crack Billy and instasaw Billy with infectious are some of the worst combinations in the game to face but normal endfury Billy with no add-ons and no ruin etc is genuinely a super fun match. Playing as him can go several ways in my experience. I used to suck at getting chainsaws on people but I quickly learned just how easy getting short-range chainsaws is, and it's always extremely satisfying. His base kit doesn't need nerfs but I feel his add-ons could do with a few adjustments like the green tuning guide and the charge speed add-ons.
-
Oh my god nobody understands sarcasm in this community and it's amazing. It's like all people want to do on here is argue and have just become humourless shells, all from 1 single perk change.

Just recently - Nurse, Spirit, Doctor
Doctor will be better once he comes to live. Nurse and Spirit are just as strong as they were. For Spirit they haven't changed the one thing that survivors have a problem with (a way to actually play around her ability instead of it being a complete guessing game), and Nurse is still by far the strongest killer in the game, all her nerf did was weed out the bad Nurses who relied on her overpowered add-ons.
-
Any means necessary, resilience, dead hard and kindred. So like, half-meta now that kindred is so good. Any means necessary is just for the meme, and can sometimes actually be useful when a killer keeps chasing someone and not kicked a good pallet. It rarely happens but it's satisfying when it does. Resilience's 9% extra repair and vault speed are quite nice. Anything to get me through windows faster on dedicated servers, even though it doesn't help all that much.
-
Well nobody said that survivor is hard or requires a ton of skill. Survivor is pretty chill most of the time. The hardest thing that's still left in the game for survivors to do now is probably efficiently using pallets by looping on one tile and going to the next, not dropping the pallet right away etc. In terms of mechanical skill, the CJ tech is probably the last thing left that survivors have that's useful in helping teammates, and for styling on people. (I would say that hook exploit where you're invulnerable under the hook is also useful but it's an exploit and anyone who defends it and/or uses it is a complete #########)
-
I honestly think they can add the regression back, but make it so it doesn't pause the gen for 3 seconds before you can progress it more, make it resume gen progress instantly.
Or...they fix some of the maps to not be the size of 4 continents but that's definitely not gonna happen. Every map should be between Chapel and Haddonfield in terms of size imo
-
- "entitled"
- "crying"
- "adapt"
-"I PlAy BoTh SiDeS eQuAlLy"
Why do you lot always say the exact same things lmao, it's fascinating.
-
Prove thyself isn't that good of a perk. If survivors are bunched up all working on a single gen that's a good thing, it makes your job easier since they aren't splitting gen pressure. It's only a 30% increase in speed, and survivors already get a penalty when multiple people work on the gen.
Discordance is a really good perk though. I run it on a lot of killers. Just replace ruin with pop and/or corrupt
-
I think survivors and killers should also be able to see the auras of broken totems, so everyone knows that there's likely not another totem in that area worth caring about.
Or we make NOED's speed bonus default for killers if there's a totem left, but the perk noed still gives everyone the exposed effect. I'd also want it to show on the survivor's side the moment the last gen is done. It's honestly very annoying when it comes out of nowhere for survivors when they have no way of knowing other than "the killer's been playing kinda bad all game maybe they have noed"
-

Not anymore. :)
You put your fun first, not the survivors and you know it. Don't try and justify playing like an ######### just because a perk was nerfed. That's pathetic.
-
I honestly think dying light is the worst slowdown perk in the game. A 3% reduction to healing and repair speed per hook? And the obsession needs to be alive and can't give you stacks either? It's awful. You're adding 2 extra seconds to gens everytime you get a hook, which probably takes around 30 seconds on average. Not to mention finding the first survivor and praying it isn't the obsession.
-
Welcome to the world of microtransactions.
-
Sure you can eventually down any survivor as any killer by literally holding W...but then what? Even after a relatively short chase there could be 1, 2, 3 gens done and there's nothing you could do about it because they literally can't get to those gens to protect them before they're done on at least half of the maps in the game. Clown, for example. Great at shutting down loops etc but that means ######### nothing when there's nothing stopping the other 3 survivors popping 3 gens.

Lol you clearly don't know what you're talking about bud, any killer needs ruin if they're going up against a strong swf team
A strong SWF team doesn't give a single ######### about Ruin, you're basically left with 3 perks against those swf death squads (which you rarely see). It's the normal games where ruin is needed more where survivors won't be hitting as many skill checks. Obviously they'll still probably get through gens at a reasonable pace but it'll be enough to make the match last long enough for you to get the ball rolling. Now we have corrupt which is much better for swf squads because it guarantees the game doesn't end in 5 minutes.
