Fair enough, but I’ll drink the cum chalice if a game like this couldn’t run on an i7 laptop with a GPU on low settings if it was optimized, especially when I could play this game on an i5 with dedicated graphics.
I know right. I rememeber being able to play this game on a laptop Radeon 520 on low settings in 720p back in 2018 and most of 2019.
-
I would love if they fixed some bugs, and improved the performance before they jumped into the next chapter.
-
If you want to be insibile during chase, just play Claudette, honestly.
-
Thats the Jigsaw box that makes it safe here. Without the box, you pretent to go one way, and then hit them on the opposite site.
-
It looks terrible. The blue hue is gone, the grass looks bad and unnatural, and the trees look bad as well.
This is litterally the worst they could have ever done to McMillan, and they did it. They ruined my favourite realm.
-
By the looks of it, you now see the 1st person animation (how the killer model is rendered on the killer's machine to make the weapon visible).
-
McMillan looks so ugly now. It lost its characteristic blue hue, the trees and grass look so ugly.
-
The 2018 Halloween event was one of my favourites, quickly folllowed by the Summer event in the same year. People were just running around, getting their flowers, and then mess a bit with the killer, and do some gens. It was so chill, and everyone had fun.
Maybe I am just nostalgic, but I REALLY miss those times.
-
Kate shows alot more skin than all other females combined.
-
I cant speak for others, but I just spent 30 minutes trying to convince my game that I have a internet connection.
So maybe the servers are being ######### again.
-
New update does weird stuff to my graphics card. I have a GTX 1650 that worked just fine with 60fps at 60-90% GPU usage before.
However now my GPU refuses to go over 40% usage in Dbd, which results in 40fps maximum.
-
They just removed Nurse blink ability in the basement of the House of Pain on Haddonsfield.
Easy map balance.
-
You can litterally modify the pak files themselves without trigering EAC. You are good to readd them.
-
With every new patch, the developers scream "Nurse is dead!" louder and louder.
There is no budget for the dead.
-
A HeadOn squad sounds fun, but not when they stretch their screen to get an advantage.
-
Decisive Strike does what it says. After being unhooked or unhooking yourself you are immune from being picked up for 1 minute, and granted a 5 second stun forn free. There is no other prequerities.
-
I absolutely agree. If your game crashes, and you send Behaviour a crash report (that pops up automatically upon a crash), there is absolutely no reason the player should get a disconnection penalty.
Its like:
Player: "Hey Behaviour, I sent you a crash report a minute ago. Would you kindy not ban me?"
Developer: "DISCONNECTION PENALTY!"

it's not fun at all. The maps don't look any better, either, because AA is still forcibly enabled. So, it's a low fps, ugly mess or a not-so-ugly older map with higher fps.
Thanks for that, devs.
If you are on Steam, forcing the game to run on DxLevel-9 disables AA.
-
Yes, the scoreboard has alot of lackluster features. Like the "Did you have fun?" ratings.

Something like this would be cool to see, but this is far from important lol
Whats the point of a graphics update, other than make maps look better and drain system performance?
-
I would start fixing his damn stalking on dedicated servers. Not being able to stalk survivors over autohaven cars, or having 10% of my stalk taken away gets tedious really fast.
-
Hit validation is coming soon, meanwhile killers still get robbed off hits by aim dressing, or survivors hitboxes disappearing while unhooking.
-
@Mandy said:
Hit Validation is in testing, we did a 2nd Beta test a few weeks ago which went very well, it's currently not on however.
Very well, apart from the fact that people that had their hits denied still werre forced to go through the weapon cooldown ...

It's interesting that this does not seem to happen with regular attacks, e.g. you get the hit sound but the survivor does not actually take damage. Maybe this can happen, but personally I have never experienced this, and I am familiar with all the examples you listed, as well as the issues with Plague.
Well I assume that projectiles are handled by the server, while regular hits are handled by the client (yet).
But thats why I enjoyed peer-to-peer so much back in the day, because atleast you could rule out network issues, and solely focus on hitboxes.
-
I have the same issue with other ranged killers. Clowns bottles often causing survivors to scream and cough, but then they just run off unaffected. Huntress hatchets causing blood particles upon collision, but THEN survivors dead harding.
I usually have a ping of 40-50ms, so I guess the developers have a system in place that punishes people with good connection? I dont even know anymore.

Yeah I have 1654 hours on dbd, but on xbox I made my profile quite private so people can't see my dbd stats unless they're my friend. It feels like I can't make any more progress on huntress, and I can't kill anyone above green rank survivors. I'm a red rank survivor so that helps because I know that red rank survivors bait a lot, so if a survivor tries to bait a window vault I'll throw to the side but sometimes I miss.
Also her hitboxes at close range really aren't helpful and I lost a game the other day because of it.
I was in Haddonfield and a Jake was injured, he threw down a pallet and I threw a hatchet but it went through him. That hatchet miss gave him and his friends time to run to hatch and jump out in my face, 3 of them did that and the other person left through the gate, I haven't played huntress since then 😂
Yes,, hitboxes in general screw over both killer and survivor.
The other day I had an injured Claudette slow vault right infront of my face, I lunged at a perfect 90° angle to the wall towards her and ... my weapon just went through her and hit the wall. By the time I recovered Claudette was already finished vaulting and started to run away, I lunged again through the window, and hit her.
So if you get screwed over by hitboxes like that, just shrug it off. Its been part of the game for over 4 years now.

I actually dont understand why the developers need video evidence for everything. The logs should be enough to prove hackers like this.
Like, if the killer is carrying Survivors A, and suddenly Survivor B enters the interaction HookingIn on their own, this should be proof enough. The game litterally logs all interaction and how long they take.

"Thank God he had such an obviously fake build. I had no way to record the match, so this screenshot was what I used to submit a ticket to the devs. Hopefully we won't be seeing him again."
I heard they can't accept anything less than a video as screenshots can be faked.
Regardless good to see they shove the new tome out next week, dc penalties back on, but game still runs like crap, is full of bugs and the hacking epidemic hasn't been touched or even commented on yet.
If I recall corrrectly, reporting ingame sends them a copy of the logs. They should see the perks and unrealistic genspeeed and instantheals from there.
-
Lategame perk, by the way.
-
Just tbag or put a macro on your flashlight. Easy mori.
-
I have been playing like 15 games of Clown today (because rank reset is so chill), and I have had so many disconnects for some reason. I wasnt using NOED, or exhaustion-addons, or moris or any other stuff that could trigger people.
For some odd reason the disconnection penalties actually worsened the problem.

In my experience the rating a Killer has is in regards to the "learning curve," i.e. how difficult are they to become truly proficient. Some are easier to master than others.
Trapper is extremely hard to master, but his difficulty rating is "easy".
I stand with my point, that the developers are completely oblivious about how their game is played outside of brown ranks.
-
Yes, the developers reanabled their disconnection penatly without fixing their servers :)
-
The developers have absolutely no clue how their game is played, so take the difficulty descriptions with a grain of salt.

This is exactly why a new matchmaking is needed.
It's not hard to get and get some sort of system by looking at certain stats and I would think they are looking at multiple things within the game itself.
Hours played compared to whom you verse, length of time to go down or down someone, how many hooks/kills per game versus how many escape, skill checks hit or missed, time spent near the hook while no one is around, going after the same survivor unhooked, length of the game itself etc etc.
Each little thing within the game can and is a metric to show then how people play and how well someone plays versus another.
How to miss the point of a discussion 101.
OP pointed out that even in a rank-system, matchmaking is completely irrational. A MMR wont change anything. Just replace the rank 14 of OP with a MMR of 1000, and the rank of the survivors with a MMR of 2000. This is how its gonna be with the new matchmaking.
And your second point, yes you can take all these metrics and use them to determine a MMR. But the developers cant do it. Thats because they cant even count 1+1. For example in their latest serverside hit validation test, people had their hits denied AND went through the weapon cooldown.
The developers have the tendency to ######### up even the *most basic* tasks, no matter how simple they are. And you expect these people to get a functioning MMR system going?
-
I absolutely agree. The lack of a testing ground makes this games extremely unfriendly for beginners, and therewfor severely hinders its growth. The developers would be wise to help out new players a bit more.
-
I got a few good maps for killer today. 2 Coaltower, one Wreckers Yard, etc.
Some days the game allows you some chill games as killer.
-
Its also pretty nuts on Nurse (if you know your blinks).
Sadly I dont see this meta staying up for long, since developers tend to nerf killer meta perks (looking at you old Ruin).

sorry but this isn't accurate. A lot of us who are colour blind cannot see blood, scratchmarks, red aura's etc Really not easy to play killer when you can't see any of those things.
DbD relies on colour an awful lot, more than the average person realises and the level that you are affected also depends on what form of colour blindness you have @ProfoundEnding so whilst your BF might not be affected, please take into consideration that other people are affected in different ways with different forms of colour blindness.
So why is there no colourblindness mode again?
-
For as long as depip squads do not get nerfed, Nurse shouldnt get nerfed either.

It’s ridiculous!!!
No shadowborn involved.
-
Yeah, I did some tests a while ago. You can blind the killer from almost 90°, even though the killer FOV doesnt even reach 45° to the sides.
-
As the commenter above me pointed out, the developers basically forgot that Nurse exists. They didnt even bother to fully finish the most recent map for her (Midwich), and havent made efforts to fix that any time soon.
Nurse is a dead killer now. The developers made sure of that.
-
I think a survivor should instantly get a normal skillcheck when they stop the regression of a generator, so tapping generators midchase atleast has a consequence to them.
-
Its really embarassing that we need to rely on Windows and graphic card programs like Nvidia to provide colourblindness options in 2020.
-
SWF dooms that concept.
-
Ontop of the power being weak, its also incredible buggy. Sometimes I can't stalk survivors in the plain open, sometimes I stalk them through walls. Sometimes dedicated servers take away 10% of my stalk, sometimes dedicated servers GIVE me 10% of my stalk.
40ms ping by the way.
-
The game isn't even properly optimised for PC, and you expect these developers to optimise it for the upcoming consoles?
Don't be ridiculous.
-
From my observations and experiences, its a network issue. For example I have had lagswitching survivors that were undroppable (thus they eventually wiggled off). So I assume the server does alot of double checks regarding the wiggle meter before dropping.
