Depends on my buzz. Some days I wake up wanting to play Unknown but I get too blasted so I just play some Cenobite or something.
No amount of dailies will get me to play Hag. Stop giving me Hag dailies!
-
Alan Wake was it, in my humble opinion.

I don’t see why it should be removed considering Michael has been able to use stalk to walk through survivors for several years now.
That is so you don't get trapped and Myers just fully stalks you.
Plague can do this because she just gets a free down
-
One nice thing I'll give Nemesis is that he can thrive in healthy/stealthy metas. When CoH/Shadowstep were ubiquitous, his infection was pretty useful for starting chase a few seconds earlier than a survivor might have hoped.
Distortion gamers hate this one trick!
-
I play mostly m1 killers, and I want all the advantages against SWF I can get so I appreciate indoor levels more. It's a tad easier to spread misinformation on an indoor level.

Vecna looks extremely silly and out of place in DBD imo. Hate it!
Out of place against whom? Wraith is one goofy lookin guy

"Dbd is not a horror game" -somebody who has 10,000 hours in the game
That's usually who I hear it from in which case it's easy to ignore that opinion

The forced short M1 attack bug has been in the game for well over a year, when I entered the bug report for it.
People can even prove that the bug exists. If someone records their game in a software like OBS, and adds an OBS input overlay, it will visually show which keyboard, mouse, and gamepad buttons they are using. They can use this to measure how much time their lunges are lasting, while proving they were holding the M1 button the entire time.
…So if the killer holds their M1 button the entire time, the lunge didn't happen for the full duration, and the killer didn't hit a survivor…. then the game forced a short M1 attack.
It gets a bit more confusing, because the survivor also needs to be somewhat in front of the killer's camera for the bug to happen. This can allow partial lunges, where the lunge is forcibly turned into a short M1 attack, after part of the lunge happened. This is even more confusing for the killer, because it "looks like" they were able to lunge, but the game still could be stealing hits from them.
…And the killer can easily test partial lunges too. If the killer is directly next to a hooked survivor, and is facing 90 degrees away from the survivor, then the killer can hold the M2 button, and flick their camera toward the survivor. This will start a lunge, which will be cut short when the survivor is in front of the killer.
Killers can also prove that forced camera yanks exist. If the killer is directly next to a hooked survivor, and is somewhat facing the survivor, they can try lunging at the survivor at various camera angles, and eventually they can find an angle where the camera is forcibly yanked, even though the killer isn't pressing any movement keys.
If you swing at a hooked survivor being sacrificed your camera will jerk into the sky. It's kinda hilarious

I wish I were an AI IRL, that's all I can think when I play Larry. My biology limits me...but hey I'm sure some people are into that form of stimulation. I think it's OK to have a killer that can only be tolerated for 1 round a day
Unknowns a bit different imo as they are primarily a series of knowledge checks; Unknown requires a fair amount of bot practice to understand their uvx physics but once you know you know.
What gets the Unknown more than anything is the performance anxiety...You have to successfully hit not just once, but rather twice or sometimes even thrice but if you mess up even once you lose everything so that's why I feel people cope by saying teleport is Unknowns real power...I don't blame them either. Trying and failing with them is deflating but unlike Singularity they aren't sensory overload.
I can't speak for Singularity but I hope we get to keep this Unknown he's just so odd
-
You're supposed to be content creation by adding to the epic Background Player montages
I kid you not I got flashbanged 6 times in one match and yet I was the bad guy for nodding when the 7th failed. Guy was having the time of his life yelling "caught in 4K #####! This is going in the Montage haha" (spoiler alert: stream got pulled offline as soon as he died)
Some folks don't want you to be patient but rather just act on immediate emotional impulse and go on tilt

it’s not even new. Just that members now are allowed to make it public. And still - you don’t need to say anything especially if you say ‚who cares?‘
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3729282#Comment_3729282
why would you think they only listen to consultants? That’s just a baseless assumption no facts at all. And assuming it’s is like that is literally kinda hating on BHVR?
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3729302#Comment_3729302
bias doesn’t need to be unfair or even negative
Because people are getting worked up for no reason I'm just being the voice of reason by just chillin

‘who cares‘ is always such a weird statement. Like.. why even comment if you don’t care 🙄 there is plenty of topics on these forums, guess what I do with thread that have topics I don’t care about?
What influences game decisions regarding balancing etc is something we as a community can care about - I am really happy I started this thread which lead to Peanits shining a bit light on this program and making some things clear.Slim pickins for posts these days. This new consultation thingy changes quite literally nothing so imo there's no need for me to feel strongly opinionated.
right now there's not much to say about it.

All I know is that Toba is the most well rounded, balanced level.
I personally preferred OG Toba(sorry Chainsaw Bros and Blight players), as I feel new Toba is too easy to 3 gen but this level is a diamond in the rough. Much superior outer space level than Nostromo....gosh that level fills with anxiety and dread in solo
-
So reading all this and the discussion, all I have to say is "cool". And to everything else, all I have to say is "who cares?"
I think we are just starved for content waiting for DnD that were just inventing nothingburger discussions.
Congrats to anyone who got in, and I hope you're able to make a positive influence.

I played them tonight and lost pretty much every single match. It was with random perks but unknown by far my least favorite killer now I think. I rather play singu tbh xD
I love Unknown but Chaos Shuffle doesn't seem to do them many favours. They need some combo of info+stealth but here I am rolling Distressing >.>

I don't see a 100 hooks in your picture.
Would you rather killers slug survivors to death?
The only issue with hooks next to each other is that you have no reason not to camp it out. The killer would be throwing.
I think this problem for either side is not something that can be solved ad long as it's delegated to RNG.
-
Kinda wild how they overbalanced Calm Spirit meanwhile OTR is just chillin with that 80s pre nerf Iron Will
Silent Bones would have been too powerful in a post Thrill nerf society I guess
-
Playing Chaos Shuffle this weekend reminded me how much I despise Eyrie of Crows. SERIOUSLY, how in TARNATION is one supposed to find the Lament Configuration when the ink spots sound just like the box? This is some serious bologna
On the bright side... I actually got Bloodhound value on this silly level. I got discombobulated by the map Sfx and somehow lost a Leon but the bright red spots actually came in clutch here
-
I thought Pinhead already forced survivors to change their bindings

Honest answer? You should have hooked me when you had the chance.

Game mechanics that encourage players to go afk and play on their phones are horrible mechanics

This. You'd also lose the passive slowdown from Survivors trying to cleanse Weakness precisely because of that.

Play any ranged Killer or Killer with a dash ability like Blight, Wesker, Oni, or Hillbilly on this map. At it's very best RPD is a heavily flawed map and at its worst, it's a map that will cause you as a Killer to lose badly because survivors hold W on this map or as a Survivor be kept captive because your team didn't complete the gens in the right order leading to a very, very long game of trying to break a 3 gen.
No offense, but you are in the extreme minority of people who think RPD is a good map. The fact that most Killers struggle hard on this map says a lot about it and how it needed to be reworked faster than any other map in the game.
Heaven forbid that mobility killers have a level that's not their cup of tea. All killers have levels they don't prefer.
-
Depends on what you're looking for, really. There are many types of SWF with various strategies. What's good for bully squads who hold you hostage may not be good for gen rush swf or for super altruistic fun meme SWFs etc. Etc.
I am partial to The Knight, though. Having a 2v4 can be helpful when you're on point with your guards. Guards help shut down pesky Background Players, and the guards can help maintain pressure.
For a general tip, sometimes you just need to bide your time and wait for an opening. Some days you'll eat literally 6 flashbangs but you just got to step back, breathe and analyze a win condition, which could be something like spotting a single hook in the dead corner of a map or a basement. When I ate 6 flashbangs, I wanted to be frustrated but I realized "gens have slowed down and they surely have to be out of flashbangs by now....so what's their play now?"
Another random tip is that I like to spread misinformation; if I know a team is communicating, sometimes you can misdirect your intentions to throw off their comms. What I do sometimes is "tunnel" whoever has the most hooks, but it's actually a fake designed to encourage the other survivors to take unsafe actions.
A death hook survivor is great, but the only thing better than that sometimes is having 2 survivors on death hook. Nothing wrong with hedging your bets once in a while, because survivor teams are self aware of their weak points. No point trying to draw blood from a stone sometimes.
-
Can't say I've noticed any difference, other than an increase in drawn out 5 gen blowouts. I've had several matches that feel like they've been at least 10 minutes long but we are still dead at 5 gens lol
I thought gens would have gone faster but oh well

Batteries is better than rapid for sure. But why take that, to make your chases that happen near completed gens (something you already don't want to be doing) be 5-10 seconds faster, when you could instead by running another slowdown perk that buys you far more time?
SSometimes you don't need or want time, what you sometimes need is something to pierce the enemy's defenses and establish a stranglehold. Against a safe team, having all the time in the world just amounts to a stalemate.
Sometimes you need a Lil somethin somethin to get the ball rolling.

You get both regardless because of how bad it is, I wouldnt stress about it.
Yeah, Seriously. It's a crapshoot regardless and that's not even factoring in backfill.
-
My crackpot theory is that Bhvr wants even veteran players to have the rug pulled underneath them occasionally. Some people play in a super safe way and I just genuinely think haste is a bandaid to add uncertainty/chaos to chases.
-
I liked Friday more than dbd but I have 0 interest in tcm.
-
Current pre nerf Chucky is Hella massively overrated. Spirit is slightly overrated.
-
If Overzealous and Inner Strength worked together for blessing I'd become a Haddie main. Seeing yellow bars make my brain feel fuzzy

We don't, actually. Could you please elaborate for the class?
-
Otz' triple No Mither into a suicide 4% into a DC Bot 4% was some insanely funny luck
-
Machine Learning is the one haste perk I think is cool.
-
Having to play around aim dressing makes me feel like I have to respect it like old Dead Hard sometimes...
Maybe killers would be too op if they could lunge with reckless abandon...mayhap even usher in an Unrelenting meta.
-
I think he's great. He's kinda exhausting though, using all your brainpower because you can't afford to miss a single shot in chase.
Not the killer for those who suffer from performance anxiety.

I don't know about best for Onryo, but I like piling on the secondary objectives for them to make it difficult to juggle everything at once. It gets overwhelming for them.
I'm currently at a 97.7% (roughly) win rate ( only 7 losses out of 302 games) all using the perks Devour, Undying, Haunted, and Penti.
With that win rate I'd say there's at least something good going on there.
I likewhat you're trying on Onryo, I think it's a very viable strategy for her, Pig and Pinhead. I personally use Pinhead myself.
I forget how long it takes to cleanse a totem off the top of my head(12s? 16?s) but either way, when I run hex perks I consider them to be, at minimum, worth a quarter minute's value each. Ain't a lot, but it's at least something lol
-
I'd like Trickster back at 110 this new one is eh even though he's technically better
-
Literally nobody was more excited than I was for Knight to be free from jail….I loaf up my boi and his AI was worse than before he was killswitch lol all my hopes and dreams for a playable and functional Knight died then and there
-
Shame this Sabo update didn't come before the Ultimate Weapon changes. That would have thrown the meta into chaos I reckon

Yeah. If I see four obviously pre-made p100 survivors with troll skins, troll nicknames and flashlights, I leave. Bullies can look for a punching bag elsewhere. How do you know they aren't memers? You're judging a book by its cover. Funny names,+4 Claudettes and P100 doesn't mean they are any better than some prestige 1 Bill

SO what will he do? Just m1 without a power as he doesn't have anything. Just Trapper without the bear traps.
There's always his shift/teleport. Maybe he'd be able to teleport to a random survivor or something like the 80s slasher he is
-
I like Skully; in addition to her basekit Pocket Insidious she's super quiet
Unknown isn't a stealth killer naturally but if built around it he uses it very well
-
I love them so much, but I come from heavy M1 Background with mains consisting of Legion, Plague, Cenobite and Nemesis so maybe if I came from a Nurse/Blight background I wouldn't be as impressed?
After a few matches of having to play around strong loops, checkspots, safe areas, vaults etc. Unknowns my guy for being able to sometimes ignore about all those things.
With a little bit of info and stealth, you can assault survivors from Unknown angles. Seriously, if you haven't played him with Unforeseen and Nowhere to Hide I'd highly recommend that combo.
For example, you can use these 2 perks to teleport to outside Badham school and shoot a survivor in the boiler room, or snipe a survivor that's above you like Midwich
Unknowns very easy to pick up and play, but to really shine with him you really do need to put time in practicing with him. You can't land shots that you don't know are even possible.
I don't mind him being a niche killer, he's not for everybody.
-
This is a problem that is solved by just having all 4 survivors run Distortion
Come join us anyway, our Adam's definitely get their Deliverances.
-
My guess is that "classes" will just be curated load outs like Healer maybe being Botany, Well Make It, Babysitter and Second Wind while the Runner may come with Windows, Troubleshooter, Lightweight and Sprintburst etc.
-
His personal chain is a tad weak but I don't mind the Box being the real meat & potatoes, it makes you a fellow seeker of pleasure just like the survivors. You know you're in for a fun time when Pinhead finds his box immediately <3
