Vecna should be higher he 100% smokes the Clown, Alien and Chucky at the very least. I think he's better than Oni, too. Oni may have a higher power ceiling but his early game is a significant enough drawback that good survivors will draw out that early stage of Oni as long as possible
Vecna cracks teams open like an egg while only suffering a minor spawn penalty

After playing against this combo this morning, I have to agree it's pretty annoying, even with Distortion. There should be some kind of duration limit or cooldown or something…
There is a duration limit; you can pick the item back up

The last survivor perk that they made which was good was Made For This. The perk didn't even last a year. I wonder if they'll ever revert or do something as it was good improvement for survivor in regards to tunneling.
You completely forgot about Wicked as well as the entirety of Nic Cages catalogue of perks.

Can i just say how bs the cleanse buffer is? You can look at unknown for .5 seconds look away break los and that cleanse will keep going for 3 more seconds
It is kind of annoying to think "woohoo I didn't lose weakened alright!" And then your bubble bursts but I can kinda understand why it is, with the odd shaped loops and all the trash laying around these days.

Huh. Maybe I havent played enough recently? But I know before Vecna came out I never saw it.
I'm just sharing my personal anecdotal experience. Maybe folks around me are feeling naked after coming back from Chaos Shuffle...or perhaps Weave Attunement is scaring people.

Literally nobody runs distortion.
Ever since Vecna came out I've been consistently getting 2+ with maybe anOff The Record

When so many Survivors use Distortion, is it really that good?
If you run any other aura reading then Lethal takes on the role of being a vibe check. Seeing 4 Distortions at the start at the trial at least warns youthat your intel may be faulty and adjust accordingly.
-
Seeing Lethal on killers like Billy has gotten rather old, especially since it's most likely that the 1st person chased is going to have a miserable time. Killers can deny it but current Lethal Meta +Nowhere to Hide is what has caused this Distortion Era
Still, I'd rather see Lethal than Corrupt. It's annoying af when the only unblocked gens are the ones that will create a future 3 gen, which makes some killers on certain levels impossible to deal with so survivors are encouraged to afk and wait out the Corrupt
I stoppedusing Corrupt precisely because my survivors were camping out the entire Corrupt duration before playing.
I don't think it's a problem to have an early game focused perk, as perks come in all flavours and work at various points in the game. We can choose what works best for us
At this point, I just recommend bringing OoO and tbag/point at killers who run Lethal. They will 100% chase you so your team will be safe and you can game with a few seconds of head start :)

I've finally been able to crank out some Lich games and my impression so far is that Vecna is simultaneously powerful but also juiceable.
My swf just camp pallets and call him OP and get double tapped and in those matches he feels unwinnable as I feel Vecna has a solid Maceo strategy thanks to Fly and Dispelling Sphere.
So far I've had better luck in solo q. I've gotten lucky getting paired with p100 meme name squads who don't immediately die to Mage Hand.
2 of my escapes last night came from Borrowed Time procs after successfully using Wicked in the End Game so I'm not afraid to admit I may have gotten carried by wicked perk combos :p

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/416545/so-where-are-the-unknown-is-op-people-at
Unknown is horrible for new players to go against. That's why he is OP. They will release these killers that are incredible strong to counter and just expect the survivor players to adapt. (Which we end up doing). Doesn't make them not OP at release, just means we learn to adapt to it.
Unknown does new players a public service by getting them in the habit of looking behind.
-
I don't think it's great...but eh, it's a peace of mind perk. Any survivor you chase will predictably never have an Exhaustion perk to deploy.
Seems like a niche comfort perk. I would have liked to have seen this when Dead Hard was ubiquitous. I think I'd still prefer Mindbreaker.

I've found Mage Hand to have very little counterplay.
You throw the pallet, and Mage Hand lifts it before you can gain any sort of real distance resulting in a free hit.
You greed the pallet, and by time Mage Hand expires, you still get hit.
You leave the loop, and Vecna immediately catches up to you.
It certainly doesn't help that there's little to no information currently available on how you should counter Mage Hand.
I've been trying to treat him like a chainsaw killer; give him a wide berth by pre running and being aware and force him to spend as much time it takes to hook you.
It's tight but making a correct read on whether or not Vecna will use Mage Hand or bait you does seem to help a little bit.
-
I've had decent luck in chase but alas it's a 1v4 so how well I do only matters to a point.
-
He's as smooth as a baby's bottom to play and he's strong to boot. Any impressions one may have had during ptb can be forgotten.
So far I have yet to lose a single game as Vecna and I'm not even using anything too crazy or evil by my standards. Unless you consider Franklins+Weave Attunement to be as such.
ThereThere's no better time to play him than now. I know survivors will get better and not give such easy downs but I still think this guys got some long term viability.
I still like Unknown more personally, but Unknown to me is a killer I use with specific perks and add-ons, and I gotta get myself in the right head space to play him but so far I've had no shame or embarrassment about experimenting or holding myself back perk/addon wise
If you like keeping yourself busy and stimulated like Singularity this guy is pretty good.
-
And what exactly is fun to you?
-
Good thing we have lute now so now we can play a tune for our tunneled brethren
-
FotD forces inefficiency and demands respect by crouching, I don't see the problem. I'm liking this guy
-
I used Distressing on wesker/Wraith for impossible healing
Wesker is just the better killer to do it with but Wraith was the OG with his Beast Soot add-on.

The invocation time was just reduced to 60 seconds (if done solo) in this update. Beyond that, I will leave it to y'all to decide whether or not it's in a good place now.
There's at least a dozen of us that appreciate the buff, thanks for not letting this perk rot.
-
Seeing as how many killers constantly back out when they see 1 p100 character...yeah it's obvious why we can't have nice things, because queue times would skyrocket because some people go out of their way to avoid any sort of challenge.
It's pretty sad when you can go through 5 killers in a pre game lobby. Now imagine just trying to play with friends. And neither p100 or friends mean anything in regards to your teams difficulty level
-
Nah, killers overall are just in turbo tunnel slug mode. Lucky that you're getting any Vecnas I'm over here pulling Twins, Skull Merchant and Huntress lol
-
I remember the wake up call killers got when 90 second gens changed nothing because all it did was make survivors goof off less and stay on generators.
-
Wouldn't surprise me if this were Meet Your Maker related? Bhvr has over 1000 employees and only 1 successful game but there's no way they all work on dbd
-
Vecnas cloak of invisibility in particular encourages this as Vecna gains Undetectable while he is on cooldown
-
I was pleasantly surprised by Weave Attunement. One abandoned little item kept giving me aura value when I used it on the Meat Plant.
-
Skeletons are not meant to be tossed willy nilly and expect to get cross map game winning killcams
-
I had 1 Vecna(ttv dc'd on 1st down) and then it was just Skull Merchant, Twins, Huntress.
For once I wanted to play Survivor first to see how you play against the killer but looks like I got forced into playing killer this time.
I guess Chucky release was an anomaly
-
Meh he seems aight to me. The hate for him is overblown. I was expecting nothing based off ptb but both skeletons and Dispelling Sphere were giving me OK value
-
You made this thread so why don't you just tell us bro

Whoever designed these survivors must have been afraid of Jeryl 2

Nice revisionist history there broseph that change was made as a compromise for removing double locker saves.

I won't be buying it. And will probably avoid the game for a while (at least playing survivor) because I don't want to go against the new killer every single match. I know a lot of people love new content, but I'm the opposite - every new chapter pushes me a little closer to quitting for good. I'm a pretty casual player, so the game becomes more and more overwhelming for me with the release of every chapter, especially with killers that have complicated powers to learn how to use/counter.
What better time to learn than when everybody is playing the same thing?
-
Meh. Double Iri Myers sucks for BP and pips but I don't care about either of those things.
It's not bad once in a blue moon. Both sides are just speed running the game It's like a little competition to see who can rush faster

Sometimes slugging is fun, I like to run knock out with 3rd seal on Billy or Oni , I won't lie though whenever I run this build is when I see the most toxic end game chats directed at me calling me everything under the sun and hoping I die
Have you ever tried it on Skull Merchant? Your drones can apply 3rd Seal because why not

The issue with aura hiding perks is that they're used by hiders to do nothing and hatch escape all the time, and punishes the killer for wanting to spread pressure. I really think info on killer is overrated. Just because you see where a survivor is doesn't mean you automatically get them in chase. But when we do choose to run an info perk, we should get use out of it. At least with Distortion the tokens can count down, albeit be regained 60 seconds later. With Off The Record and Shadowstep, it blocks any and every type of aura read for the full duration, which for OTR is 80 seconds and for Shadowstep is theoretically infinite.
The strawman is that killers can't use their eyes and ears to find survivors, so they rely on aura perks, and thus get mad about Distortion. A side argument, but ironically sound is extremely unreliable for killer because you can't hear breathing or footsteps of people right in front of you, and Claudette, Adam, and others have costumes which are very hard to spot even while moving. We can use our eyes and ears. It's just that when we hook someone, and have something like BBQ, we're using that to switch targets instead of camping and tunneling, which evidently are no longer worthwhile strategies, and yet survivors are still complaining about them. You leave us no options.
Unlike gen defence, which is overkill at low level and is not enough at high level, aura hiding is good across all levels. It allows you to rush gens while being stealthy, disrupt the killer spreading damage, disrupt the killer tunneling, etc, because he can't find anybody. There's no weakness to using it. And worst of all, it gets used for taking the game hostage, because the last 2 survivors don't want to do anything. This is something that can be done without aura hiding perks, such as hiding in lockers, but that furthers my point. The killer doesn't have a "closing out the game" mechanic for when they've clearly already won. They in fact have negatives like hooks breaking forever and free escape hatch. I think if survivors don't do gens or anything, they should have their auras revealed. You can't have people just hiding for extended periods of time in public matches.
You talk about strawman immediately after dropping a strawman yourself.

If Friday never died I wouldn't be here, but alas it did so I'm here to stay.
I like that game more still, but it's literally unplayable.
-
There is the aim dressing shenanigans that steal your hits, but when it comes to getting spun my cheeky little way of handling it is to spin with the survivor lol
Waving your damage hitbox around a bit does seem to help paint the survivors hitbox I find.
-
If Distortion really bothers killers they can just run Lethal for the vibe check at the start. If you see no auras then you know not to rely on your build.
The Perk is fine.
-
I think this perk will be a decent solo perk but that's it. The range limit I think will limit this perks SWF usage to indoor shenanigans like Midwich

All I care about is justice for the Depleted Ink Ribbon that add-ons has potential to be so funny

This happened once so far. And well, I said, it is possible if the license holders would agree. But if not, it is entirely impossible.
(And tbh, I think someone from the TV Series will fit better)
Isn't Cheryl/Heather underage? That makes 2

I sure seem to get Scene Partner a lot, but that's OK because I heckin love Scene Partner I love treating every killer as if they are Ghostface!

I play solo q because my friends stopped playing except for a single match here or there, and my partner stopped playing. I’m the only one of the group that ever took this game seriously though, so even when we had a group, it was just us messing around. But now after playing solo q for so long I kinda prefer it cause I like solitude and silence, lol.
Kind of the same boat. Swf to me stands for sandbag with friends more than anything lol. Playing by myself is the only real time I can play seriously

Yeah, if she is 16, then she will not be in the game.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3730215#Comment_3730215
This would be an option, but this depends on the license holder.
Seeing as how every time we've had an underage licensed survivor they've been aged up to be legal, idk why you are absolutely certain that she can't be in the game
