  • id say just enjoy it and don't worry about what other people think. learning comes naturally

  • I think its a new spin on weighting maps. this is better

  • @Crowman said:

As long as hatch is an rng escape mechanic, the best play for killers will be to slug.

it's called not being a wuss and just hook. hatch exists precisely to just end these kinds of standoffs but naturally it's the killer who has the problem and somehow twists it into thinking that the hatch is the reason they are stalling the match out.

heck, I usually don't mind dying. If I were against, say, a Pinhead I'd be more than happy to solve the box and let him take me if this were a respectful community. But all I'll get for the trouble is a slugging so you may as well play it safe and if they start slugging, drag it out

  • if the terror radius perks were affected that'd be upsetting. I haven't dabbled in terror radius chuck/drac in a hot minute but I used to use them a lot

    I have 3.

Number 1 is definitely chucky, i cannot stand going against the liittle dash slop rat. He's already hard enough to see because he's so damn short, there was no need to make him a stealth killer and give him mapwide footsteps and noises to stress people out. I'm getting better at countering him but he still annoys the everlasting f**k out of me.

Number 2 is krasue. Her kit is basically impossible to counter unless you're swfing and are really good. If not her chases are forgone conclusions, I try to dodge the bloody homing aoe projectile, she hits me on the first to third shot then the head dashes me down and I lose chase in 40 secs max, usually less. I am distinctly bad/mid at looping so I really can't clunter her. And the mushroom is bloody pointless, it only helps if you get away from chase which once you're infected is basically impossible with the head's flight speed.

And finally trapper. I know on paper he's the weakest killer in the game. But I can't accurately express the rage I experience when I stumble into a trap. Especially when I'm last surv standing, just heard the hatch spawn, slow vault through a window to get to it knowing I disarmed the trap a moment ago only to find out that he had iridescent stone and the trap reopened. His addons can be mad irritating if he runs the iridescent stone, bloody coils or or the one that downs you if you free yourself. He is very dependant on survs not spotting his traps, but if people do mess up he snowballs so hard especially of he gets someone in basement.

not gonna lie, chucky release is what started my Stevegull arc before it got popular (scene partner+ Object) because I was tired of not seeing him in loops, and so I could tune out the white noise footsteps. I've been a religious Object user ever since

  • we can all see that we need dbd 2 if this game is ever going to flourish but it seems "life support" is the plan.

idk if it's a licence thing or what. or maybe the code has too much spaghetti

Anything to avoid acknowledging that maybe she's just not meant to track as accurately using audio only as players would like. Not being able to see survivors (thus making them less easy to precisely track) is supposed to be a downside to her power - not something that's just ignorable by jacking your audio up or pumping it through some post processing. Just because you can hack your way around something doesn't mean the game is meant to be played that way.

All that being said, it's not like they could do anything about equalizer settings or other audio post processing since there's no way to even detect it. Once the game spits out the audio anything can be done to it before it gets to speakers or a headset.

spirit didnt use to be so bad when she used the default chase music. hers is just way too loud and it doesn't get talked enough how big of a nerf getting music was.

I think the point was kinda lost here. I'd just like people to recognize that the use of certain perks in certain ways can put a killer into a tight spot. I don't ever load in looking to tunnel, but if I have people using SB to try to run me to shack where no gens are being worked on and I have no pressure, I'm going to turn around and go back to the unhook notification I just got because I know there are two people out of position over there. Some perks, even ones that don't seem like they're chase avoidance perks, can be used in a way that's detrimental to your team. And SB is a very free and easy way to frustrate a killer into swerving. I don't think people want to accept that their actions can lead to their teammates getting tunneled.

I think its being done intentionally, or people just genuinely don't play both sides.

I had this issue running Scene Partner I was simply too awesome and untouchable that all my friends just die painfully that I had to acknowledge that and start running Shoulder the Burden

  • Wraith. he's been boring and lame ever since the light burn was removed. I just find him very uninteractive.

Xeno is mid like his antiloop is better nemi without breaking ability but at cost he can be power managed by turrets which shifts him from low a-tier (against not so good survivors) to like mid-low b-tier to even c-tier against strong swfs that can use turrets to maximun potencial with their coordination and shut his power easily and without tali xeno is very bad killer, easy to spot.

the one thing I'll give xeno these days over my boy nemesis is that I actually like the tail nerfs that make them more reactable as it allows you to commit to a read on a survivor and "queue" your attack, which if you loop survivors around the left side of loops you can get hits that Nemesis and old Xeno could never dream of

  • he's ok i think he was designed for a different era of dbd. he has no mobility and more perks than ever before reveal the killers aura.

old Pyramid Head was powerful before he got arthritis because he could fake his power at 0 risk to himself now he has to play 50/50s which if you're gonna do that you'd be better served by Xenomorph since at least they have passive slowdown by forcing survivors to do turrets

still though , Pyramid Head and Unknown truly are the "potential" killers that theoretically could end games in seconds.

  • playing Henry long enough will turn you into a ghoul apologist so I'm gonna say demo even though I'd say demo is technically at a lower power level

ps hey you still got that gif of ada being munched on by Jaws?

  • @Mooks said:

for me personally, its definitley Xenomorph as well.

Though i do understand current versions of Myers and Freddy being disappointing as well, since the First iterstions were definitley more fitting and more creative.

I think Pyramidhead can be mentioned as the opposite, afaik he doesnt have any abilites from the original source(s) but he feels great. Maybe a bit clunky and outdated mechanic-wise, but still cool concept.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4084559#Comment_4084559

damn, you know they really messed up Myers when even the General thinks this rework is worse than Freddys rework

bhvr honestly cooked with Pyramid Head minus the whole giving him arthritis thing but I understand why they did it

  • id like to say Freddy since he is kinda disappointing, but Myers straight up makes me upset. they should have just yanked the licence and not even rework him.

they ruined his character and facing him as survivor i just regret even queuing up

  • @Chomperka said:

Main objective of survivors is to repair 5 gens and survive. Does sprint burst help with that? Definitely. Exhaustion perks are all about buying surv more time without(mostly) much effort.

There are survivor perks that straight up punish you for not tunneling like resurgence or deliverance. Those are far more problematic if we talk about tunneling encouragement.

distortion was reworked because people here on the forums said it caused more tunneling if you were the one who didn't have distortion.

that's what's going on with sprint burst.

  • I think they are at a decent power level, ideally around where most Killers should fall. the thing about Xeno is that they feel bad to play as; actual or perceived strength doesn't really matter.

nothing feels worse than making this killer auto aim a hit in their own turret. I accidentally did that to a xeno and even I felt bad.

  • @MDRSan said:

Call me old fashioned but back in my day we would just use our eyes and game sense to track down survivors. We didn't have all these auras or big pulsing red iconography shouting "Hey, over here!", we just looked for them and we found them. We practically have a quest marker system for killers in modern DBD compared to how it used to be.

If this is better than modern distortion then it isn't because it's super strong, it's because modern distortion has been nerfed into uselessness. It doesn't make survivors invisible, it just takes off the aura training wheels for a short time after a killer hooks someone. It's fine as it is.

I hate it because there's this idea that chase has to be going all match with no down time, just ping pong between auras. some killers are just insufferable and exhausting having to stave off the whole game there comes a point when you just don't have the resources to deal with it. Like, what's a pallet or window gonna do against a Nurse? You need stealth in order to keep them busy without resources like by tapping priority gens and have them keep coming back

  • id prefer to be equally violent towards everybody and spread pain to everybody but these kind of builds force you to cut corners.

I hate these super safe play styles that are boring for everybody. bring back 150% WGLF so people get back in my face again

Tbh I've started getting into the habit of revealing spring trap on cameras while he's in chase, because i know he will be focused on chase and when I have eyes on him I can jump off the door if he drops chase and heads for door.

I appreciate you doing that. I know, something something efficiency but I don't care.

  • not gonna lie, I hope they delete her so nobody thinks to ask for Dissolution to be reworked. it seems nobody wants to play this killer without it.

sure, I don't play Legion without it either but the difference is that I don't need it and I can play without it but Krasue takes it to fix some kind of fundamental issue with their power.

  • @Fenril said:

Honestly? With that humongously good chase power she has, she's ought to receive some nerfs.

How is she punished in any way for erroneously using her powers? She's not punished at all. Her ability's cooldown is almost non-existent.

From a survivor side perspective… playing against Spirit is simply unberable.

she got her nerf bro it's called a chase theme.

im not even being facetious here getting a chase theme was the worst thing to ever happen to her

  • not gonna lie, I spend half my match time on cameras forgetting I have Object equipped and I didn't realize this.

  • springtraps loot bag, for sure. Grabbing people that had an easy escape never gets old

Your feelings about the adaptation have nothing to do with the killer's popularity. If the killer was fun to play, people would play it anyway.

And again, I think it is fun. But the overwhelming majority of people hate the flamer turrets to the point they can't derive any enjoyment out of playing the killer. Whenever you hear people talk about why they don't play the xenomorph, the turrets are always the reason why.

In fact a lot of people think the flamer turrets are so good against Xeno that it may as well be an M1 killer. If you put time into mastering the killer, they're not that much of a threat. But I definitely notice how often other Xeno players get knocked out of crawler mode, because they likely don't main it and don't have the built-up reflexes necessary to deal with them quickly.

People hate the turrets so much that they just give up on the killer and go play a different one.

And yet, despite all of that, survivors also don't like Xenomorph because the tail legitimately is one of the best chase powers in the entire game. Due to latency and survivor momentum, it's basically unreactable, even after nerfs to give survivors more time. You have to guess when the Xeno is going to tail whip and be in the process of pre-dodging, as well as hugging terrain which makes it difficult for the Xeno to use its tail at all. It's not like other killers with skill shots where they pull up their axe or whatever to give you a warning to dodge, Xeno can just do it at any time.

They tried something new: a killer with an extremely powerful chase power that has to deal with survivors having an extra weapon against it. It didn't work for the overwhelming majority of players on both sides.

I'm so bored of gen gameplay I love the turrets just to break the solo q monotony. xeno is what I call a "killer designed by survivor mains" its a shame that humans don't like to play as them though so the killers just dead.

very few killers give basekit help to solo q and xeno goes unappreciated for it

Dumbest pay to win killer that should have never been a killer.

He's not even a killer, he's an anti-hero. It's as genre destroying as adding Deadpool as a killer.

    It's a cash grab.

Everything about this ghoul being added is garbage.

Rather play against nurse. At least nurse takes some skill.

If you wanna go there, Deadpool in dbd could easily be a white eyes version of Barakapool from Origins:Wolverine lol.

  • I feel bad for the survivor and whoever worked on them because I can't see anyone caring or being excited for this.

  • thats an impressive achievement! very nice

  • I'm keeping the jaws dream alive

  • could a killer not just immediately turn around and find somebody with this perk?

  • Invocation: Final Sacrifice

If you have no hook stages you can perform an invocation. After 60 seconds, all hook states are transferred to you. Survivors see each others auras.

I'm not afraid to bite the bullet when my turn comes. I live for the team. And I hope that one day, we all can come to an understanding.

Freddy because he's rare and my main.

Setting aside my Freddy bias, I respect the so called "Low Tier Killers" that play past midnight into 6:00AM. I always get a Ghost Face and Pinhead at those hours.

I had my usual 5AM Pinhead match yesterday and took this screenshot especially for my friend @100PercentBPMain because I always think of him when I Face my early morning Cenobite…

Massive respect to players who play who they want, irrespective of subjective tier lists (Trapper, Hag, Skull Merchant, Ghost Face).

Massive respect if they are P100 or a high Prestige as it's clear they are determined to play and invest in their Killer no matter what.

I hope it was fun match Count! I took a little break but perhaps you have summoned me…

if you use, 😭, 😂, 😵, ☠️, 😱, in a serious conversation/discussion your are trolling. (At least in my limited opinion)

Especially the fabled 🤣, anyone who uses that you know has lost all semblance of reason and is fuming behind the screen.

I'm more of an XD guy myself :P

  • to me it's stalling and wasting time when you know you have a captive audience

if an animal has to be put down you kill it quickly so it doesn't suffer tgats what I was taught as a kid. yet there's people who basically let their prey bleed and enjoy periodically kicking it in the head.

I absolutely can hold others to the same standard I hold myself to, so never do this to me as survivor because I have autism so I will play for the server close to spite these people so they don't do it again.

In 2v8 for example I had 2 killers hump my locker for TEN MINUTES because they slugged a bot and wanted to slug and mori the other last Survivor and I'm like nah bro quit being such a clown and open the locker. Odd since it's wesker, I thought he only had 7 minutes? I will never let anybody have their way with me or allow a fellow survivor to endure it either.

They nerfed Springtrap and his addons literally 2 weeks after his release, and didn't buff anything about him until the 9.6.0 patch released last month. While they didn't nerf him into the ground, they sure made playing him more frustrating and easier to counter, especially since the community hadn't really gotten a chance to get used to him and the nerfs he received felt like a knee jerk reaction to the initial flood of complaints.

I've seen the pattern before… I just know that once Jason goes live, he's gonna feel awesome to play for a week or 2, and then they're gonna hit him with nerfs. How much they nerf him will determine whether or not he's worth buying, after all, he's not the only Licensed killer they nerfed too hard and has yet to recover (poor Xenomorph and Demogorgon 😥)

I get where you are coming from...why get uses to and even like a killer if that's just gonna be taken from you?

ignorance is bliss. I stopped playing Pyramid Head and Slinger because I remember how they used to play before they got arthritis. I wish I never knew

  • it basically takes AI level computation power to play Cenobite and Unknown at full power.

nobody can truly play these killers at 100%. sure, any half decent pinhead should be spawn grabbing the box approximately 100% of the time but doing that for every box would require you to have the brain power equivalent of having franklins+ Weave evenly applied across the entire map.

unknown requires you to personally lick every surface at every angle on every level to earn base proficiency with UVX and how many people do you know do that? most people do not dive very deep into uvx logic mastery. it's just too much to consider for a window lasting a couple seconds on a particular corner of a map that you may never go to

  • Definitely a nerf for sure he seems to have high uptime and pressure but I guess we'll see

  • he seems like a chess killer to me

  • add ghoul to 2v8 he's more balanced there

  • idk why the extra range addon gives haste tbh I just enjoy ragdolling people against their will. I love chucking people as wesker with the addons

I think the game has had perk bloat for years.

They need to move towards having one or two learnables per character, weaker perks should get buffed or even merged together to make less perks, but more viable ones.

The current way they do it with three perks we will continually have perk bloat.

I feel the perks are a symptom of the fact the game engines running out of room for fresh ideas. idk if the game is trapped in licence hell but we need dbd 2 the killers and perks are stagnating

  • I can't wait for vigil Finesse Lithe to be paired with this

  • doesn't matter to me tbh. if it's fun or if I use it i don't care how simple or complicated it is

  • id like to see them in 2v8

    Usually 1-2.

I find that running more than 2 creates a "win-more" scenario. Since most slowdown perks activate on hooks/downs, if you're getting those then you can capitalize on that to create pressure survivors will have trouble overcoming.

But if you're struggling to get downs, your perks do nothing.

I'd rather have perks to help me actually catch good survivors than perks to stomp medicore to average survivors harder.

I'm in the same boat as you brother i have no need to win more, I'd rather have help in situations where hope is almost entirely dead.

I almost consider pain resonance to be win more because if I even have ONE hook I'm happy some games are so tough I've spent 5 generators still tier 1 as nemesis with 0 hooks.

I've been happily surprised by my testing with Deerstalker on Cenobite because my worst enemies are stealthy pre runners who are very efficient and safe normally this destroys all my killers even my Pinhead because I can't account for where they are when the box spawns and normally these sneaky types would always have my box and safely solve them but now these sneaky types are a liability and it's a load off my nail-free mind.

I guess win more can be nice for ego battles and twitch content but I love having something to keep my mentals stable for when I hit rock bottom. it's these matches where patience is key anyway, because some matches are so lopsided with little you can do except patiently wait for an opening and ruthlessly exploit that. but maybe I'm too much of a dork who sees themself as Goku who only wants to take on the world's strongest I don't need perks for average mmr

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4080986#Comment_4080986

As killer I do not ever chase pre runners. It's literally a fools game. Why would I waste my time following someone when I know 3 others are focusing on gens. I don't. I go and check the other gens. And guess what, the entire team pre runs from miles away and im kicking gens with barely any progress on them. It's counter productive for both parties involved. Only an idiot would stick to a chase and allow gens to get completed. Pre running is not meta. The game is about skill. Pre running doesn't involve any skill at all since players are avoiding all interactions with killer. No looping, no pallet dropping, no flashlights, no flash grenade's, no predicting, no skills at all. That's not how the game was designed. That's not how it was ever originally played.

I remember the old days very well. Strategy was highly used. Sure it was easier to go unseen and changed only because people cried that they couldn't do it. But I used to do 5 gens with just 1 other surv quite a bit and it took strategy. Now a days its just about impossible with the maps, killer speeds and aura reading. It's gone from strategy chill to rushed brain dead everyone's having a panic attack, game. Everyone new in every game holds back and watches, observes, plays cautiously… dbd is no different but pre running wasn't how it was done. And back then it took much longer for gens to get done. Now for 1 newbie to pre run out of fear and uncertainty ok sure, understandable. But an entire full squad of players that are definitely not new.. get a grip and learn strategy. It's pathetic. You have an abundance of perks, items, add-ons for a reason. Use them. Gens give the least amount of BP. Interacting with the killer gives the most. If you just want to do gens and leave then get into custom matches. There's nothing worse then facing an entire skill-less squad that avoid all interactions with you.

sadly I think auras have pushed us into this pre running box. it wasn't overnight, but little things piling up like Lethal Pursuer existing and guttingDistortion have kinda forced this since you can't even be safe near a killer unless you specifically have Object.

  • maybe we'll get something exciting like back when we collabed with for honour and they received a whole mode to PvE against Trapper! ....and we got a charm

  • my motto when I get downvoted for is "your boos mean nothing to me I've seen what makes you cheer!"

    dont sweat it, friend.

  • bhvr enforcement would need to make it easier to ban people because bond users can be rats.

bond is honestly such a good value perk that's impossible to not get value from I don't think it deserves to be basekit.
