I acknowledge this is probably a bug and going to be fixed but it did have the nice side effect of removing the uncounterable locker saves being back. Because people slow come out of the locker so you either grab them. (Which doesnt give you the flashlight invincibility as normal pulling them out) or you have to back up and swing and down them normally but that forces you to slug them to chase after another survivor which creates a similar problem that locker flashlight invincibility intended to solve. Could we see the flashlight invincibility extend to pulling survivors out of the exit locker or slow enter locker prompts as well? Dont have a problem with backing up and smacking them to down them as its still the better move anyway but it seems weird you can still be flashlighted out of a locker when the whole intention was to remove that. Thanks!

I'm happier more than anyone that the unstoppable locker saves are gone but I don't think we need to press the issue any further imo bhvr "solved" it but now you just have to remember to not get baited which i think is fair.

  • I average 1 per build. it takes special consideration to run 0 but it's not off the table.

typically the slowdown would be oppression or surge.

anything more and you just create stalemates where the games being slowed down but you can't advance the game, either so you're just dragging out a losing battle of attrition. even on a killer where theoretically you don't need perks like nurse, survivors can stealth you out if you're actually on 4 Slowdowns.

i like perks that feed into each other.my first main legion for example a classic build I have is Mindbreaker, Surge, Enduring, Dissolution. Enduring gives me free downs randomly which can be the help I need to deal with good survivors. playing with Enduring naturally makes Dissolution a fine combo since I eat pallets for breakfast.

  • oh no, not the iron maiden tech!

  • @coldflame said:

force him to break pallets, it puts his power on cooldown. you need to run pallet>pallet, camp them and drop to force him to put his power on cd so you can reach the next.

if he uses his power to vault, you need to turn around and vault the pallet yourself whilst hes animation locked so you end up on different sides.

do not heal, basically ever. theres a few circumstances where being healthy is maybe important, but as a rule the fact the power is pretty much unavoidable free damage means that every heal is just wasted gen time.

eh idk, i think its worth to heal. it makes getting cut off not a death sentence and trades 32 seconds for a sprint burst.

Definitely heal if you're a weak looper or the resources have been consumed. If you have heal speed then that's even more incentive.

never healing is more for the Resilience MFT types

  • id like to see Savini Jason I missed my chance to get that skin in f13 after that it's Roy.

  • huh, guess I picked a good time to become a dinosaur.

I've mained Dissolution for years to maintain my sanity so I don't have to keep up with or think about pallets.

  • nah but I'd like to see them in 2v8

He was 4.6M/S for years and nobody complain about it

Now he is 4.4 and I'm complaining

4.6 trickster had a weaker and more boring power. you can't have his current lethality on 4.6. if bhvr wants to release a test run where this is the case I'm sure survivors would love that.

that's why we got rid of his haste addon because as much as people enjoyed it it defeated the whole point of the rework he's either 4.6 or he's 4.4 and changing his balance for 4.4 but still give him fast speed on an addon, no matter how skillful or earned it was just is too oppressive feeling even if it may not actually be OP

  • 1 is pretty good but I wouldn't go above that but that's just me

I sometimes run 0 but that requires....cutting some corners and running Rancor.

Completely agree, it's wild how much aura read there is and no indicator survivor side so they can react. Like even OW has Widow announce she's wallhacking so people can react accordingly.

I use ooo in all my builds because I'm tired of it. believe it or not, stealth is still viable even with auras it just has to be metagamed but no indicators make that hard.

people had said in old 2v8s that stealth was impossible but bhvr added the brute class specifically because stealth people like me would play around the auras

it sucks to get pre ran but I don't want a weaker power

meta is called that because it is an acronym which stands for "most effective tactic available" that is precisely why it is "meta" because it is in fact the best thing you could be doing.

But i would like to know, what do you do on these m1 killers, can you post some videos? You can use OBS to record a video of a match totally free and then upload it to youtube totally free as well. Would love to learn what you are doing differently than everyone else, we could all learn something.

if everybody on NA servers agrees to play only Trapper, sorry but Trappers meta. that's how meta works, it means after.

Because it doesn't pass the vibe check. I don't want a regular animal chasing people around. It's goofy. And Jurassic World is a gross, corporate option, just like SW.

fair enough. I suppose jaws is out for you too then, eh? I'd love jaws over jurassic if I had to pick haha

My question is if she has the lullaby while Undetectable and Manifested, specifically.

I'm pretty sure Chucky's ambient noises are tied to him being Undetectable, which is why I ask. I'm hoping being Undetectable and Manifested means no lullaby, though.

chuckys noises are absolutely tied to the undetectable status. don't mind me

  • have you ever seen Spongebob? if you've seen the GloveWorld episode, you need to think of yourself as the glove world bus.

any time Spongebob sticks his hand in the vending machine, the bus moves closer and when Spongebob steps back, so does the bus. this silly mental image will do you wonders against most Killers. for example bubba struggles to catch people who always move away from him.

if you want to enter my training school of looping arts, you could sign up for my exercise program which is on discount since one of the licensed perks is now free!

Object of Obsession, Scene Partner, Troubleshooter and Resilience is my go to that I call "safety in the eye of the storm" build for people who want to get comfortable taking the heat.

I had to develop this build, 50% because chucky was annoying me on release and 50% my team was literally all distortion players except 1, who was unfortunately our weakest link so they always got turbo tunneled.

I have great game sense and awareness, but I'm old. I enjoy stealth more, too. however this build did a lot for me.

Object helps you suss out killers builds so you can confirm aura perks, and sometimes you get auras mid chase or you see a stealth killer approaching (seeing chucky for 0.05 seconds is still huge because you know his approach)

Scene Partner+Troubldshooter grants great safety in chase and allows you to play more unsafe pallets with poor check spots that you need the reaction time of a kid to play, like midwich middle area. Troubleshooter prevents you from running the killer into high value generators.

Resilience is the cherry on top for extra loop value plus tiny repair progress, but you could swap that for Strength in Shadows if you'd like a decent heal with some decent aura attached.

this build kills, but it saves. it saves, but it kills. Scene Partner is a lifestyle that has to be embraced since you have to treat every killer as if they are Ghostface but it's incredibly rewarding.

P100 Pinheads are the most common P100 Killers that I go against, no competition.

Granted, I'm only one player out of millions but he is without a doubt the most common P100 Killer for me.

wow I'm actually jealous of you count. I may sound like a jerk who is trying to butter their own biscuit, but truly pinhead is my favourite killer to face alongside lich and unknown. however, my cenobites literally always disconnect.

my friends groan, grumble, wanna give up, go ugggh Pinhead... but I have to remind them like...you know you're playing with John Cenobite himself???

what makes pinhead rough is that he is merely Seeker of Pleasure #5, so as a self described seeker of pleasure we are at odds with each other. it's MY BOX and you can't have it! pinhead box logic is a double edged sword whenever another enjoyer comes along.

I wanna see more cenobites, man! I want them to torture me

  • that's quite the ambitious guess but hey nothing's off the table. if you're right you'd be a legend amongst your peers

    can't wait to see

  • demo used to be my most sweaty killer back in the day. back when we had old dead hard and og haddonfield.

haddonfield made me crash out so hard I adopted ruin and agitation with the leprose Lichen addon any time id get a down id haul them to the Myers house basement and then facecamp the basement remotely since Lichen showed all auras everywhere so I was free to protect my ruin and harass gens and only show up for the save when I had to. I had a ttv even compliment me saying they'd rather face a face camping bubba than ever play vs me again.

I don't think I've gotten around to trying his latest buffs I should probably check that out once 2v8 leaves

  • legion will always be my number #1 they are simply the best. we may see other people but I always come back to them.

I thank myself for maining legion because I credit them for being a natural cenobite enjoyer.

It was decent when it removed charges over time due to the fact that was the only real answer to medkits, healing requires 16 charges so an item losing only a few charges can really disrupt that. Of course, it got nerfed and now no longer does this.

The reason for that nerf has to be the dumbest thing though, I am about 90% sure Franklins was only nerfed because of Fog Vials and keys. These items got changed to not use charges but instead numbered uses. I don't know why but it seems like they couldn't figure out how to make Franklins interact with that system (Or straight up didn't want to) so they got rid of it with no real compensation buff.

And if you think I'm grasping, this has actually happened before. When Nemesis got added, Franklin's got changed to no longer delete items from the trial because the developers either didn't want a perk to be able to delete 'special' items like Vaccines or Flashbangs or couldn't figure out how to make the perk not delete them.

A problem they would later fix by making them take up their own slot.

    AND YET DESPITE THAT

Franklin's never got buffed to delete items again.

I kinda missed vaccines being items tbh I felt useful as somebody who didn't use items so I always had a spray can ready

  • legions the best all round killer i think they're fine. I liked them back when they were considered the weakest killer so I find wanting to rework them crazy.

id like Myers to just go away. i don't care how.

  • I like using Invocations to enjoy a nice slow start

  • franklins was never good(killers mainly used it in events since high BP+troll them out of event items), but it got nerfed anyways due to survivor frustrations. then it got nerfed again to its current state , so it's easy to see it as a dead perk now.

however, the last nerf of no longer draining item charge makes franklins more effective when paired with Weave Attunement now, since survivors will want their items back to use before stashing the dead item in a corner, which gives a chance to get another Franklins drop whereas before survivors would immediately stash the depleted item in a corner.

I personally only used franklins with Weave anyways(franklins was never good on pinhead) so the perks only gotten a little better now for me but those that didn't may not like where Franklins is at today.

  • I used the OG pain resonance but after that I stuck to my Surge roots. however these past few months I've been using Oppression more than anything.

I'm not ashamed to say that I'd prefer to have help getting hooks than getting bonuses for hooking. I like using Unforeseen and Nowhere to Hide on a few killers I like to think that helps make my approaches sometimes more unpredictable even in a group.

Oppression isn't any good at the start, you need to get the survivors busy and distracted but once you get into a 1v3 situation like a hook or death the regression can be a time saver just like Surge my beloved, but Oppression isn't map dependent like Surge.

for example, Henry and Unknown are fun killers who can have some unique hits with Nowhere to Hide+Unforeseen on indoor levels.

  • as a survivor i loathe current pain resonance, dead man's switch, 3rd Seal and nowhere to hide and as killer more than anything I despise Finesse. If I could go back in time and stop Tomb Raider from ever existing, I'd change history to spare us all from Lara and her ridiculous vault perk

  • I'm not against Survivors having better classes or having an an advantage because I think all the classes are decent. I enjoy picking between them more than I do picking a killer class. it's just that current Escapist feels excessive.

why play Pyramid Head against this and get tbagged for it when you could play Nemesis and at least get sprint bursted but with passive slowdown in the background?

  • @OnryosTapeRentals said:

Onryo is just not a very satisfying or consistent Killer to play. Most of the matches you'll win as her are not because you played well, but because the Survivors just have no idea what they're supposed to do against her. The average Survivor doesn't handle side quests well, and when the stakes are life and death like Onryo's Condemned, a single bad player dooms the entire team and results in a boring, one-sided match.

On the flip side, if you get matched against a competent team, she's a nothing burger. Her kit is made up of various gimmicks that work well against inexperienced players, but are easily-countered by anyone knowledgeable. Intermittent invisibility mindgames don't work if the Survivors pre-run and pre-drop, her stealth is rendered obsolete by the Lullaby and visual heartbeat indicator, and her Condemned is easy to manage if you have reliable teammates that get in the tempo of disabling TVs as they turn on.

Freddy has a similar problem with his dream world; you sometimes get games where people keep trying to heal in the dream world and it just makes me feel bad

  • I swear I have better luck trolling with matchbox than I do playing Nurse seriously

So when i come up with a point I'm just "assuming" and yours are supposed to be taken as read?

You're basically saying "I want this killer so it should happen" and "it'll be easy to implement" without really any backup argument other than your say so.

I am very familiar with how henry's power works, and with the balance of 2v8. And he would straight up be an issue. Every killer that is put into 2v8 has to be rebalanced to fit that mode and that takes a lot of work. Currently none of the killers in 2v8 have a particularly complicated power, because it makes them easier to add to the mode. Henry's has a lot of variables to balance and that would not be easy to do, and if it was done badly then it would cause massive complaints. I doubt they want to try to add then have to remove or massively rebalance another killer.

tbf, there's no real "rebalancing" in 2v8 it's pretty much just been addons being made base kit since killers have no perks/addons whereas survivors still have items. well, minus the triple dashes of a couple killers.of our current roster, I think only oni had received nerfs after his first iteration. Nemesis getting extra zombies was pretty much our first big change

Except people mainly queue up in groups of 2 coz play while you wait, even if you ignore the fact deep wounds exist for some reason which you are doing and Oni insta downs basically voiding medic in the first place, "Expecting" stangers to play META is quite frank a bit too optimistic. Medic doesnt work through deep wounds.

This is a casual mode and a lot of people are going to be playing without much awareness of what is META.

aye, you can't heal after the bite. I should clarify, I mention the medic because people see an overlap between ghoul and Legion, and people fear Ghoul would be a support and synergistic killer. We all know ghoul has an easy healthy to injured attack, but If ghoul wants to focus on just biting people that's where I feel the medic class will kick in. The mend timers are faster in 2v8, so that slowdown is much less effective at stopping the medics.

I know I'm a bit of a ghoul defender, but that's why I bring up concerns over what I think would be the real issue, his hold. Ghouls only true oppression in 2v8 would come from the 1v2 tag teaming due to the hold, the play style thats arguably 2v8s weakest killer strategy. I'm curious if ghoul could change that.

idk, everyone's quick to fill out the Escapist role. people know. I never get to play that class(fine by me)

  • it's just a government mandated survivor sided map. I hate it, but survivors hate Hawkins too so it's give and take.

  • @Rokku_Rorru said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4078949#Comment_4078949

I'm sorry but it will be an issue, being able to injure easily is always a huge boon in 2v8, pair that with Oni for example we're back to square one.

If they want to test him, do it on PTB if anything, but he is one killer that would make me stop playing the mode for a while and I know many others too. The survey is going to be interesting, as a lot of killers probably want him but survivors don't want to see him.

That said if they fixed his pain points regarding the first hit among other things, I'd not have an issue with them. I'd rather they be fun to play against and as like Blight currently is.

nah. if any killer approaches the meta that is good at liberally injuring survivors, the survivor meta will adapt and start incorporating more medics.

we aren't in a medic meta so the class is kind of just just there as an afterthought. fill Escapist first then fill the rest. the easy injuries will naturally bring about more medic double heal resets. congrats on biting 5 people, now 2 of them clicked a button and they're full hp.

if people are playing medic, some killers may feel like playing Pyramid Head.

  • @RizeKagune said:

Legion is extremely un-fun in 2v8 regardless of what Killer he's paired with. With 8 survivors it's just endless non stop mending simulator.

the mend was reduced in 2v8; there is no mend simulator. this is a 1v4 talking point

  • escapist makes this killer completely pointless. Nemesis is kinda pointless too, but his 4 zombies act as slowdown that Escapists can't just ignore and pre run from.

there's a reason I crash out and ask for Ghoul in 2v8 this class is single handedly warping the entire game mode.

  • @THE_Crazy_Hyena said:

Ghoul doesn't fit in 2v8, due to the same reason as why Legion didn't.
Getting that first hit, and applying deep wounds is WAY too easy.

Trickster on the other hand isn't nearly as offensive as Legion or Ghoul, and thus can work in 2v8.
Not exactly sure how he'd work in conjunction with Huntress, but I am sure the lockers could be different from the players' perspectives (huntress sees hatchets, and trickster sees knives).

Freddy.. I am not sure how the whole dream world mechanic would work, and how it would affect the second killer. How would the lullaby mechanic work if he was paired with Huntress?
I think Freddy is best left to 1v4

the hits are a non issue, ghoul does not have the same pressure that legion had. legions arguably better in 2v8.

the real point of contention would be the latch, that alone could probably make Slinger entirely redundant.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/467174/wheres-knight-in-2v8

Probably because the only people that genuinely enjoy knight are the people that main him. To everyone else, he's cheap, annoying, skill-less, and honestly a waste of storage space on everyone's game install.

Also, the devs value a 2v8 playerbase over the 500 or so dark souls/for honor/HEMA fans who want to LARP in 2v8. People stopped playing 2v8 because of legion/oni so they killswitched legion. Knight would tank the player count because of his infamy.

some lonely killers just like him because it makes you feel like you have friends

  • I like to use no perks no addons my first time playing a killer then gauge what I need from there.

some killers need info more than others some stealth, some chase perks, some slowdown. with slowdown, I try to lean into what works best for that killers playstyle. for example, killers who I use genkick perks on like Unforeseen and Nowhere to Hide, I may opt for Oppression over my classic Surge.

killers like Ghoul have large terror radius so people hide more, so info is really needed on him. killers that get pre ran kinda need Mindbreaker. If I'm trolling, I'll run Superior Anatomy.

I generally run 1 info, 1 slowdown, 1 chase, 1 stealth or whatever perk
