Nope. Grown adult here with a moderate auditory processing disorder. I can hear a pin drop in a silent room but my brain somewhat scrambles the details of sound making things not so clear. You can tell when listening to me speak if you know what to look for.. The noisier the room the worse it gets. Accents are also difficult at times for me. Music also difficult depending. And yes I have trouble with sound in games too. Dbd is a bit of a challenge when I'm near a generator or if too many other noises are going on, like noise notifications at same time as generators, chainsaw, squaking crows and terror radius. So no I didn't hear it from kids thT don't know what it as. I just simp,y always perceived the spoken word as Morris and never bothered to check a dictionary for accuracy because if I did that every time i would be doing it every 10 minutes. Ok the 10 minutes might be a bit exaggerated but it feels like that and there comes a point when I just say screw it.
And no I'm not upset in any way that you thought I was a kid who heard the word from another kid who don't know what it was. These kinds of misunderstandings are bound to happen
-
Yah yah I spelled it wrong
Still hilarious. In fact from this day forth Morse code shall forever be known as Morris code.

Yes omg please yes to killers see hook states too. There are times when a killer needs to decide whether or not to go fo the final hooking. For example, a killer that believes strongly in fair competitive games and sportsmanship might not want to actually kill survivors after a team mate dc for being hooked, and instead might want to spend the rest of the match getting some points.
-
Ok thanks
-
Oh I see. I must have them all then. I don't own all characters yet so I can't check all of them for their drops
-
@Mooks said:
Yes they can, as well as your teammates.
you only get the sparkles if you get hit by the killer while inside the snowman though.
I meant to hit hit the yes this answers my question button for your reply but accidentally hit the no button. My bad. Is there a way to fix that? Cuz I don't see it.

You can't buy Chapters with auric cells, only characters.
If you still wanted to buy the chapter, make sure you have the steam overlay enabled, otherwise the UI won't pop up to complete the purchase.
I made that mistake once when the witch survivor was added. Using auricular cells to buy characters works fine though, you only miss out on the outfit in the dlc pack
-
Dear survivor,
Why oh why do you insist on dragging killer to me every time I am injured and trying to heal? And why, when you are injured and being chased by killer, do you run straight for me? And why oh why do you go out of your way to try to evade killer by hiding in plain sight a couple feet away from where I am working on a gen or healing?
-
I used to feel like that too. But then I learned you don't actually need 4k to get decent BP or xp etc. You just need to be active with chases and pallet breaks with a couple hooks. Probably still gonna get tagged though
-
As far as I've experienced since I began playing, killers have disadvantage. It's difficult for me to get sacrifices consistently, although it depends on which killer I play and I've only been playing for 2 months. So maybe I just need more time to practice. But I often have trouble with swf teams or when they genrush. In these scenarios there are times when I don't even find survivors till after all gens pop. When I finally do get several sacrifices in one match, I can expect immediately a string of 5 or more matches with 1 or no kills. It's frustrating if you're trying to play the killer role with honest effort. Even more so when you're trying to get the tome challenges that require sacrifices.
What makes the survivors have an advantage I think is the swf situation. But bhvr can't exactly make swf impossible. It's kinda the point of this game really, for up to 4 friends to chill together for a night of co op gaming. If bhvr prevented mic use for friend groups in matches, or prevented people from inviting others to matches, most players would move on to a co op game that allows it. Bhvr really can't stop it for a game like this.
But they could stop nerfing killers.
They could also add more survivor objectives to lengthen the match a bit for killers to have more of a chance

Cause people for some reason still believe one day that bhvr will make good balancing decisions when they've proven time and time again that's impossible for them
Awwwww you mean it's just a wish list?
I ain't been playing that long and I don't even know what patch number they are currently on. But all those things listed would be excellent changes.
-
They're actually doing this.??? Omfg this is amazing!!! I hope this for real and not just a wish list. I love everything in the opening list right now and you say there's more?
-
I think those players who constantly whine and ask for nerves of the opposing team are just mega salty about any match they lose and want their side to have the advantage... usually. There are some legit complaints, like with the hacker situation.
I just want a balanced and fair game with a great match making system. One side only isn't supposed to win all the time. It should be generally an even split.

...Okay.
- Slugging is an unfortunate mechanic. Honestly, I wish we could just hook directly after the second hit.
- However, it exists to give *survivors* a chance after being downed.
- A lot of the time, it is beneficial to down one person and leave them slugged to hunt for another person. The final two is, again unfortunately, an example of this. If a killer doesn't want to give hatch, he doesn't have to.
- Bring Unbreakable if you aren't comfortable being slugged.
- What does need to be addressed is situations where killers slug all 4 survivors and leave them to bleed out to BM.
Right. Slugging everyone at once and leaving them to slow death is bad behavior
But slugging in order to chase a 2nd or even 3rd survivor trying to swarm heal downed survivor is fine.
Also slugging one survivor in order to use them temporarily as bait is also fine.

Can someone explain to me how does lightborn work because I started losing my ######### with this game and it's bugs,
if a killer is carrying a survivor and you hold your flashlight long enough to the state where he is suppose to get "blind" he doesn't anymore? did they make this perk so overpowered or what or is this something that doesn't come up so they can fix it, even in general with out carrying a survivor the killer doesn't get blind. what is this. please explain to me.
I'm killer main. I don't use lightborn perk normally and I still have very easy time usually when evading flashlight blinds.
1st, try to pick up the survivor in an advantageous position -- such as up against a tree, tall rock, wall, etc, while facing said obstacle.
2nd, either count your toes or count the stars.... seriously... just look up or look down. That's it.
-
I've seen this a few times now. Was utterly confused by it. I figured killer needed to land hits or at least be near target to get points
-
Thrill of the hunt
-
I've noticed this weird phenomenon with killers low queue time at night and survivors low queue time in the day.
-
From what I can tell, it's cuz they been nerfed to #########

It won't work......any bans caused by DC either your fault or not can't be reset. I tried with I kept getting DCd for 6 games in a row.
The issue is they shouldn't have a AI algorithm give automatic bans because not every DC is caused by the player. I get they want to keep people from rage quiting but seriously.......make it a case by case scenario and not a automatic thing.
Sure, ideally. But to be fair, they likely don't have the manpower to review every dc manually.
-
It is a bit unreasonable though to expect a solo survivor to play match after match after match trying to get a team with 2 other jins and then manage to have them both survive and escape while you survive but stay behind. That's a lot of stuff to randomly fall in place. Its like the old bugs bunny cartoon with the traveling insurance salesman that Sells overpriced and impossible to collect home insurance where it's gonna be damaged in a tornado during a stampede on may 5th between noon and 1pm in the middle of an eclipse.. Not everyone has gamer friends who also play this game who could help with that.
-
I'm disappointed we can't see the thumbs up ratings given to us in post game screen. Why even have the choice to give props when they can't see you gave them props?.?? I used to give props til I realized no one can see it.

How do I know the difference? Most of the time when I get disconnected it's when I'm the killer and getting ready to hook someone. Everything slows down and players are teleporting. That seems to me like hackers. But it also says my NAT settings are too strict. It's not a money issue. It's an unavailability issue.
This description sounds like hackers either inadvertently caused you to lag out or caused it purposely. If a dc is not your own fault then I agree there should be no penalty. Problem is though, as explained to me before, that bhvr has no real way to know the reason for any individual dc.
-
When I play as survivor and solo a gen then it feels as slow as molasses.
When I play as killer then it feels like gens pop fast like when popcorn starts popping....
So I feel like I get both sides of the issue.
Rather than changing gen speeds, perhaps adding secondary objective for the gen/gate power up. Would have to be balanced to killer too, so I'm not sure what that would look like.
-
I've been wondering about totem cleansing too since boons happened. Someone might want to place a boon or maybe they don't have any. Solo players wouldn't know for sure till they placed it. Likewise killers might have a her perk active or they might not.
-
I just played a match as killer.everyone escaped at same exit gate right after ceremoniously butt dancing for me. I sat there looking at them from the gateway. Then I moved on with my life and queued for another match. It was that easy.
-
Sometimes? Lmao
You can please some people some of the time but you can never please everyone. If the devs realize this, they can better assess which changes or suggestions will help most, and which will be pointless to bother with.
Not saying it's easy at all. There are thousands of players or more, and all have their own opinions and feedback or suggestions, much of which is in conflict with other players opinions, feedback and suggestions. Plus some players react poorly or toxic when they don't get their way or don't like a change. It has to be miserable to deal with this every day. There is probably several dents in the dev office walls from everyone beating their foreheads into the wall in frustration.... but regardless, there will never be 100% player satisfaction.

At this point, why dont you just delete the post game chat completely?
I understand that you censored bad words to minimize the toxicity, but…
You censor me for typing survivor names, perks and some other not-bad words. Cant even talk with people smh.
I often have to go back and edit posts I just made here on this forum too due to autocorrect wrongly assuming what I meant to say and changing it before I realize it. As for the game text chat, I'm on Xbox one and can't seem to find the chat. Am I missing it ?
Have heard of how silly the game chat censors are though. It sounds ridiculously hilarious. Especially for an m rated game that only adults should be playing anyways. We aren't children. We can read a few no no words, and if an adult can't then that's on them ultimately. The game does also have report features for those who choose to report the no no words, and I'm sure there's a block feature too.
-
I doubt this will happen as players will get through tomes way to fast and might get bored sooner

Has anyone played Aliens: Fireteam Elite? You cannot crouch unless against a wall, in which case it snaps you too it. This way the crouch can't be abused.
Another more extreme idea - time spent crouching at the gate is calculated to deduct points from that survivor.
I think teabagging is the least of our concerns for dbd.
Besides, it's just a gesture issue. Only thing hurt by this behavior is pride and feelings. Just learn to ignore it. Or better yet, join them with your own gestures for the lulz.
Also, there's not much in the way of in game communications for players on consoles which is why teabagging, or butt dancing as I prefer the term, is also developing into its own form of sign language. The more you play, especially as a survivor, the more you will pick up on subtle likely. Meanings or intentions behind individual butt dances.
-
I'm not sure about this. Being in dying state and trying to crawl away to hide or be healed is a legit survivor tactic. Built in whispers would destroy the concept of glorified hide and seek by giving the killer too much of a permanent and constant hunting advantage, thus unbalanced survivor abilities to hide when killer is nearby.
I think it makes more sense and is more fair to survivors if they stop afk crows from spawning when a killer is nearby and hasn't left the area the survivor is hiding in for prolonged amount of time.
I am a killer main but have played survivor a lot for tomes as well. This is a constant issue for me as survivor. Terror radius alert, run hide in closet, killer runs circles nearby searching and won't leave area. They probably have whispers perk. I stay in closet cuz if I leave I'm dead. Afk crows spawn in like only 1 minute... not cool.
-
S he needs a more manageable blink system.
-
Glorified hide and seek is fun
-
Good concept, fun, but character design makes him look a tad bit babyfaced and happily innocent instead of demonic. Actor Doug Bradley was the best pinhead in the movies. Also possessed chains too difficult, to aim.
-
Every other match it seems is trickster... 2nd is ghostface
-
I know right?
-
I think I just solved this mystery lmfao...
Do survivors have a separate grade from killers? Cuz if so that explains it. I was doing survivor tome challenges up til yesterday. That's what was the copper color.
-
Swf is already at an advantage over killer. Don't need no swf proximity chat to boot.
-
Yup. Once I literally had no other choice but to help the last survivor get out the gate. He wouldn't leave the area for chase cuz he knew with wiggle that I can't reach a hook in time from the red gate (( had already sacrificed in the area )) and all I could do was down him and try to carry to hook but he gets away and runs right back to gate. All I could do was open gate and stand there.
My fault in a way though for using too many hooks that close together in the gate area.

Alright this post will probably come off as stupid, but is there any way to not let messages from other players get to me? I'm aware I can make my profile private meaning people can't message me, but that's basically a last resort to me as I like getting ggs which is as common as those bad messages. Probably doesn't help I've got mental health issues, but that's besides the point. Is there any good way to help me calm down rather than immediately getting pissed off? Also sorry if this should go into a different section of the forums instead of general discussions, you would think I'd know this at almost 2k posts but I guess not.
I understand completely. I find ggs very satisfying and toxic rantings very horrifying. I have anxiety issues and apparently ptsd according to my therapist, so those toxic and abusive messages are very difficult to deal with, and it's way easier said than done when told to ignore them or just don't look at them. I t h ink we both know it's more like a train wreck. You don't wanna look at it but you just can't stop yourself.
The only thing that helped me so far was advice from my therapist to take it slow, one moment at a time, don't beat yourself up when you fall short of the goal you set on how you want to react, and take a deep breath. You know, the breathing exercises to calm down and clear your mind. Over time you will get to a point where that helps more and more. Also, distracting yourself might help, such as stopping and looking around you to count every single blue colored item you can see. You can also try going to do something else calming for a bit then come back to game. At the end of the day remember this is just a game and salty players be salty but there's not much they can do so long as you're following the rules/tos.... except for the ddos apparently... but that seems to be more an issue for high ranks and ttv.
-
I'm not surprised when occasional ddos happens, but I am surprised this appears to be as big of a problem as it appears to be here and is lasting as long as it is, considering how much legal risk the perpetrators are subjecting themselves to. In popular opinion, do you guys think this is just random mischief or could it be more about someone being disgruntled * cuz reasons * ?

Would killer count for 4 votes?
Good point.... I suppose they would have to.... but the map system is already unfairly survivor biased since theoretically all 4 survivors can burn a map offering when killer gets only 1.
-
No. It's a way to let players vote on what map they want. I actually think they need to rework map offerings into a more detailed and better map voting system.

It won't have any impact on your gameplay, but it will on the enviroment and LEDCs where electronic waste is dumped. Think long-term and globally in terms of effects, not just how you personally are effected, because the impacts are so much greater.
Ok will have to take your word for it as I know nothing about computers or cryptocurrency
-
I hate rpd too. Killer or survivor doesn't matter here. They should have named the map the labyrinth, as I can't find my way to gens or gates or hooks and fail horribly at chases or trying to catch up to heal injured team mates.
I would rather have a police station map that makes sense.

Right in short
- You don't own the image
You have no legal rights to whatever NFT you purchased, it's simply a link to a receipt saying you own it while everyone else can use it for free.
- Energy consumption
It takes a lot of energy to transfer crypto, a lot of energy to mine it, and a lot of energy to store it, as well as a lot of energy to sell the NFTs. All of this energy, most of which is coal power (if you don't know, very bad for the environment) is being essentially wasted because you might as well just buy the actual image.
- Money laundering
NFTs are usually used as a money laundering scheme, purchasing one with dirty money, selling it for clean money, and basically meaning the theft can't be tracked
- No guarantee
Servers shut down? Out of luck, no more NFT for you. Someone doesn't give you the NFT after you've paid? Out of luck you have no legal rights. URL to the receipt expired? People can replace it with malware for free and you lose access to the NFT
- Way of rich people flexing on poor people, again
They serve no purpose except to let rich people flaunt their wealth.

However, I don't see where any of that I effecting gameplay. Am I missing something?
-
When you have to complete multiple action within a single trial. Especially hard as survivor since you are competing with 3 other players to do the task before they get to it. Example would be complete 3 gens in one trial. Other players finishing the gen first doesn't count towards your task completion. 5 gens total can be done per match. 4 survivors. Task needs you to complete 3 of the gens. Do the math. Takes forever to find a match where all other 3 survivors are preoccupied with whatever else, plus killer is somehow not constantly chasing you off the gens or downing you. That's a lot of stuff that has to fall in line to make that challenge happen

Idk but from what I heard console pigs do not fall for boops.
I tested it and found out they are out for blood. lol
Since figuring out the boops, I totally let survivors do boops. I think it mostly has to do with pigs not knowing about boops. The first time I experienced the boop, I was very confused why the survivors ran up to me, crouched before me in unison look I was some sort of cult deity as they left me offerings of medpacks and flashlights, then proceeded to creepily stare at me and take turns poking me...
