  • As much as I would say you likely are just having bad luck, I will agree Mori's (especially Ebony Mori's) are an issue and I believe the devs have stated they will be looking into them, for now we can only just deal with it.

Imagine someone going to kill you, please make it enjoyable for me.

Didn't bother to continue to read past "There is 0 feedback to her power. "

spine chill helps if you are unable to recognize the tells she does have.

At least you can actively see the person attempting to kill you, with Spirit their is almost no feedback to her phase walking.

You should NEVER have to run a perk to counter one specific killer, I don't need No Mither to counter Plague, I don't need Small Game to counter Trapper or Hag.

  • @Rin_is_my_waifu said:

No. We don't want another trash killer because you like looping killers for 5 gens

For the record, I have zero issues versing her cause I know what to do.

Stop crying and Dcing and you will eventually learn to play against her

Where in that entire post did Anarchy ever said he/she "wants an easily loopable killer for 5 gens" and or actively DC's against Spirits?

And also you never really gave counter arguments aside from just attacking them which is never a good thing.

  • @Blueberry said:

The killer main vs survivor main mentality only comes from the people that only play one side so they aren't able to understand where the other side is coming from. There's nothing you can really do about that besides telling them they need to play both sides to understand but obviously that doesn't work because it's impossible they could be wrong about something.

That is quiet true, and is also true I'm asking too much of everyone getting along but maybe more of a common ground is what I'd hope we can aim for.

  • Legion just cause he bores me to death with his 28 useless stabs.

For real though I get extremely paranoid around trapper not knowing where he placed em so he's probably one I hate facing the most.

Netcode, ping and frame rate probably. That's ######### terrible lol idk how i would play this on a small screen then have enraging issues like that. Then go try to play survivor with killers running IG/AG basement builds and glitching people out of the game.

yay for steam sales and christmas? lolol

Oh yea I had the basement bug happen to me twice yesterday didn't even know it was a thing yikes.

I think though despite this I still like dbd on switch (I much prefer to play on pc but don't have available funds for it) bhvr just needs to get a optimization patch for console's out soon sometime, whenever that comes out we will have to see.

You do not have dedicated servers yet. I believe console issues are mostly over FPS problems. i can't say for certain because i don't own DBD on that platform and i won't give them anymore money even for charity lol

I'm a switch player (Was Xbox before financial and living issues forced me to lose it) and we have dedicated servers as Nintendo Online can't support P2P so for us is likely both issues of frame rate and ping.

Now its actually true but for a different reason.

VPN/Steam Location Change(pre-servers) + Hitboxes not coded for Dedicated servers, but for P2P connection + Great Value Dedicated servers they got out of the bargain bin at Walmart = Getting "Hitboxed".

Some of their Fog Whisperers even call it "Getting Dedicated Server'd".

Is an even worse experience on console

Theirs always those who never had issues in these type of circumstances still doesn't mean it doesn't happen, but I would do yourself a favor and look up either from clips on twitch or youtube for what I speak of, I bet you'll find couple examples of this or even on the forums.

    How ghostface detection works

I think on paper his detection works well but whether code they used for it doesn't work half the time making it a very frustrating experience for both sides.

As survivor on 2 different occasions I had been staring at ghost face no less then 5 feet away while he's out in the open and never revealed him, other times I managed to reveal him while he bloody carried me on his back.

Is why I was so dissapointed when they said gf was fine and weren't planning to look into him despite all the documented evidence of his inconsistent reveal mechanic, just from that has made him for me the most annoying killer to face against.

Yes, but that's clearly not why he made that video. To show how disingenuous he is, I watched him a little a long time ago and he was stream sniped with Huntress and they all got out and teabagged him at the exit gates. He was stream sniped by the same SWF and he used Spirit with a Mori out of revenge because he was pissed. It was funny seeing him barely killing them all. They were down to 1 gen and he supposedly played the most OP killer with a mori. And here he claims this killer is unfair with how strong survivors "can potentially be". Hilarious.

I'm quiet certain if they were stream sniping and knew Scott was playing Spirit they must of been using a very anti Spirit build which is strong against her (Quick & Quiet, Dance With Me, Lithe, Iron Will though I could be wrong so correct me) which both a swf team who also all play a specific builds for one killer who they already know in advance is extremely small chance of happening.

You can't really do that in normal play as your never gonna know who the killer is.

  • Oof this post.

    1. The most I can say about safe pallets is at most something like killer shack should exist at most 2 safe pallets or even just one on a map but to remove every single one? Seems bit strange.

    2. Even if every survivor hits great skill checks against Hex: Ruin it would be doing more then having no game delaying perks even if a survivor literally spawned on top of it (that though really is a totem spawn issue not Ruin in of itself) as it denies gen progress from normally hitting a great skill check.

Increasing gen time does nothing but make the game much more boring for everyone, the only real solution (If their even is any for this problem) is a secondary objective that does a similar effect to generators.

    3. Killers with reduced movement speed in theory sacrifice this for an above average ability to help them during a chase (Nurse, Hag, Huntress ECT.) Just giving them 115% movement speed would make them way to strong.

    4. They have feedback from the players they are called Fog Whisperers, sure some may not suggest the best of ideas but getting multiple opinions rather then only accepting one (echo chamber).

Not sure if you are being serious or not but you make money with a youtube channel. Otherwise, there would be no incentive to have a youtube channel. Content creators milk their audiences of what they want to hear whether it is right or wrong.

So you can't just make YouTube videos just for fun? Scott literally stopped uploading on YouTube for months due to the hole de-monotization affecting his videos which is why he primarly does streaming.

You’re right, a lot of maps are actually fine unless the survivor has Balanced in which case a few maps become downright OP with loops.

In regards to the map rework I hate to be that guy, but the reworks are wayyyyyyy too slow. One map every 4-6 months mean it will take them years years to do all of them, at least 1.5 or 2 years even for the problem maps.

Well what else can you except from a small team? I like for the updates to come out much faster (I'm on switch version and we STILL DON'T HAVE PATCH 3.3.0).

But consider the following: They have to go through with analyzing which maps deserve to be changed, then going through multiple redrafts of new versions of those maps then getting those new versions tested out (likey by fog whispers) and seeing if they pass, if they do great they can start modeling and getting them in the next update if not they go back to the drawing board.

It may take long but I rather be promised something then get nothing.

  • @bendermac said:

Maps are a far bigger problem then one Killer overperforming. All Farm Maps, Haddonfield and Macmillan maps need to be looked at. This is what the devs need to concentrate on. God loops, poor visibility and other BS. Fix that, before you "fix" the Spirit!

    @Peanits

They already are working on some of the maps as we speak on their roadmap another map is going to be reworked, I can at least agree they should of done this a long time ago but at least they are finally doing work on them.

But I have a problem with the maps that you listed as problematic, aside from Haddonfield which isn't necessary bad for killers if it's just normal survivor loadouts as it only really becomes the worst map if any of them run Balanced Landing, but all MacMillan and Coldwind maps?

I can really only think of Ironwork's with the god window and possibly Suffocation Pit if the middle is filled with connected T L walls or single pallet tiles or if the back window spawns, otherwise the other MacMillan maps are fine and I actually argue that Shelter Woods needs a rework for how barren it is of tiles and pallets for survivors.

Farm maps also became much better once the tiles were no longer see through, so really the worst one now is Thompson House mainly due to each side potentially having connected tiles which shouldn't be possible, the other ones only can be rough If they have the god window spawns.

I'm more confused as to why you never mention maps like Ormond, Lery's, The Game, Mother's Dwelling, Disturbed Ward as I actually find those to be the biggest offender's for just terrible and or boring maps for each side.

They have a very large audience who play the game that watch them and if Spirit mains want to prove she does in fact have counters, then that would be the best way to show a wide audience of people that she is completely fine.

Plus Scott June is technically a Spirit main and has played her since her release, he has constantly said he enjoy playing her more but due to her making survivors unable to interact with her he feels bad playing her

  • @Alphaphalt said:

OP: Spirit needs adjustments because her power gives you no information and as such are forced to guess, making it extremely unfun to play against.

Over half the megaminds in this thread: Omg just use X perk to counter her, stop trying to run her like an M1 killer, ugh survivors just want to 1v1, etc.

    My god.

This is what happens when people don't know how to have a civil discussion that's not even close in relation to OP's post at all.

  • It depends, if I just find brown medkit in a chest I'll use it up when we are at only 5 to 2 gens left, if is more uses then one I'll use em up quickly.

i would agree as the game was trash back then lol but that was when they first started and was still learning with little to no feedback and much smaller community. Now that they've grown, they should be able to see what the effects are of their actions

I mean the only last 2 times I can think of where bhvr absolutely messed up in terms of balance was old Legion and old Mettle of Man.

  • @Entity_Burger said:

Do you think the Devs honestly care?

The game balance in this game has swung in such a way that Survivors are outright bragging about DCing, bragging about trolling, and some firmly believe Killing survivors too efficiently is 'a douche move' and 'unfair'.

The Devs will continue to listen to every Survivor complaint and beat 'too good' (read: decent) Killers into a coma, then eventually buff them back up.

...Eventually. I mean, Trapper never got a buff at all..and Legion is still an utter joke..and every Killer recently has weak, Survivor-biased powers and cooldown bars...But eventually someone may be buffed.

    ..Maybe. If Survivors allow it.

I'ma be honest and say this...Have you seen what dbd was back on release date? Cause back then most of the game mechanics and devs were in overwhelming favor of survivors vs killers.

Heck the only reason old Nurse existed was to fix how broken survivors were back then until they finally got their [BAD WORD] into gear and start to make the game somewhat balanced, as of now it may not be perfect (Some broken maps still exist, dedicated servers) but is by far in a better state of balance then it was 3 years ago.

Spirit should be the gold standard for how a Killer should be balanced. If they nerf her into the ground i will be very disappointed.

Also for the record Open Handed is a great perk, and (I think, not sure) it can be stacked twice in a team, with one exception which I’ll outline.

    So it works with:

    • key aura reading ranges
    • OoO (from a potential 72m to 80m or 88m if you’re the Obsession. From 64m to 72m or 80m if not the Obsession)
    • Bond (from 36m to 44m or 52m)
    • Kindred (I believe it has a hard cap. Can only be extended to 24m of killer aura reading. 2 Open Handed don’t extend Kindred beyond 24m)
    • Plunders Instinct (from 32m to 40m or 48m)
    • Left Behind (from 32m to 40m. 2 Open Handed won’t work because whomever else may have ran it is either dead or escaped already)
    • Detectives Hunch (from 64m to 72m or 80m)

I think I’ve covered everything. Not sure if I’ve forgotten something that has a range restriction.

It also works with key add ons like Blood Ember

  • Depends, if your running Balanced Landing then Haddonfield is by far the best survivor map as the houses with windows at top levels (or really the meyers house) end up being infinites, otherwise is mostly random ones, Iron Works Of Misery, Rancid Abbitar, The Game.

  • Flashlights are really only the worst items is due to killers (on average) being smart about counter playing them, perhaps more light burn killers should come into play as we only have had 3.

  • @KuromiStarwind said:

What was the point in reworking Legion into total garbage? Overly nerfing a killer that people complain about without an actual understanding of how to balance them, basically. They attack the things that people whine about the most on forums and tear it apart. Nurse's changes look like they were straight out of a forum post, not a devs head, but at least you could excuse all of the "These new addons look cool, whacky and fun! Too bad they're total garbage" type changes to her if you had left her base kit untouched, but of course BHVR went that step further.

I dunno, after playing and going along this journey with these amazing decisions, and absolutely terrible decisions, the devs have made for over 2 years that I've played this game, I guess I'm just finally getting tired of it all, and that extends far beyond just speaking of Nurse

Do you want Legion's to cheese survirors via moonwalking after a frenzy hit again?

  • @PoisonN said:

I think the maps are the problem. Of course killers like Clown, Doctor and Trapper deserves attention but big maps like Rotten Fields and unfair maps like Haddonfield is the true issue in my opinion. Also, I want to say: I'm tired to read the word Spirit. I do believe that she is not the main problem in this game.

I mean aside from Prayer Beads I think spirit is not that big of a deal but I agree with you on the maps and I been pushing this at least far back since Legion came out, the maps constantly get worse for killers or for survivors.

I'm glad they are starting to rework some of them like badham (unfortunately I'm on switch so I don't get that luxerie) I just hope Haddonfield is next.

  • Just clear the bones, If your running into it a lot run something like a map with red string or Small Game.

Dead Hard is more of what I would say inconsistent, it only can work depending on the latency of the server which admitingly is frustrating.

  • @Rin_is_my_waifu said:

No. It is a heavy nerf, since you'll always know when she is phasing and this will ruin her mindgames. As a result the add on will be rendered useless.

If you are having a hard time versing this add on, you can run spine chill which is a very good perk in general.

I would only agree with the rarity swap but again I'm not sure because spine chill exists

And dont forget to git gud

By "get gud" you mean run Iron Will (Which is a good perk overall) or Spine Chill (Kind of underaited perk) or if you don't because you MIGHT not want to be forced into running 2 certain perks for 1 killer certain and if they might be running 1 certain add on?

That would be like saying "If you think Iredcent Hatchet's are op just run No Mither to counter it LUL" is a weak excuse for a very unfair add on.

  • @GrootDude said:

You aren’t actually spending too much more time on gens and you can camp pallets since he has snares.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/194/QM7GJ2ZKGABV.jpeg

I was solo, we did all the gens and three of us escaped. (One screenshot isn’t proof of something being op, I know but it isn’t op imo.)

Thank the entity that I'm on switch and haven't seen this but the closest I gotten is 2 separate 3 gen Overcharge, Distressing and Unnerving Presence Doctor's, as others had said I don't think this or the slow chain's Freddy is broken or powerful, in fact this one is more effective then the doctor one cause Freddy ain't hot garbage like Doctor is lol.

By fair my biggest grips is these games can become absolutely boring where half the time they won't commit chases, kick gens and then eventually win by the survivors being bored out of their minds and giving up or, they will lose 30 minitues later from not being able to juggle all 3 gens forever.

On a side note I hope to [BAD WORD] god this Doctor rework makes him more interesting then this.

It's hard to not act like you're better than everyone else in this game.

I think I'm glad (and probably some others are too) that we can regonize when we play badly, I main survivor (Bellow Average to Average on my goods days) but I'll constantly make basic or advanced mistakes, what I won't do is blame it on the killer for making me bad as I usually comment on how I [BAD WORD] up during a game.

I guess is also why I wouldn't ever get this salty over losing as 1 Is just a dumb party game and 2 If I lose due to my mistakes and not from the game I'll accept my lost and try harder next time.

No Mither needs a rework. Or a change. Frankly I think the "get up again" part should be removed and transferred entirely to Unbreakable. Unbreakable is "Unbreakable" for a reason. Not, "Unbreakable Once."

Then No Mither should get another suitably good ability that is similar in "wow" factor to offset the severe penalty of being broken the entire game. One of the suggestions that's been offered by several members of the community is to remove scratchmarks altogether when you run No Mither. Powerful, "Wow" ability and opens up a totally different way to play, and justifies the ridiculously bad drawback.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/775955#Comment_775955

You can't stop the gen regression by tapping. When the killer kicks it the damage is done. No amount of tapping will undo it. It is not a Damage over Time perk. It happens in one fell swoop.

Alright my mistake, haven't played in couple months but it is nice to know PGTW was made actually useful

  • @Mochan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/775935#Comment_775935

    What the?

PGTW is one of the stronger killer perks in the game today.

Not to say PGTW is terrible I'll admit is good and better on some killers then others (I personally prefer Ruin but I understand why some think is good), my issue along with OC which is why I lump them in together is that any survivor can easily negate the effect by just gen tapping, is why I suggested that it should only stop after you start working on a gen for 5 seconds rather then just poking it.

  • I think rework would be more of an appropriate term as many perks are just straight up terrible and a buff wouldn't fix em here's some random examples I came up with.

Monsterious Shrine: Only usable with Iron Grips and Adgitation which both aren't that great to begin with otherwise terrible perk at the moment, perhaps a new effect could be added or increase the debuffs to survivors on the basement hooks.

Beast of Prey: The fact this only actives after getting Bloodlust negates the possible mindgames as that point unless your looping the survivor at a los loop they will still be able to look behind and see you coming at them, I'm not sure how they could improve it currently maybe make it activiable after getting Bloodlust? Otherwise I think it just needs a rework as it also doesn't fit Huntress's playstyle.

Overcharge/Pog Goes The Weasel: I lump these both in as they do the same thing Ruin does but worse which is stalling the game out, let's not forget you have to waste time kicking a gen, is even worse with PGTW as you only have at most 30 seconds to find a gen which means not chasing anyone during that period of time. The worst part for both of these is they are completely negated by a survivor just tapping a gen to cancle out the effect, perhaps they could make it so you have to actually hold the repair action to cancle out OC or PGTW for like 5 seconds.

Edit: Ok ignore what I said about PGTW as I was a [BAD WORD] and forgot it was buffed thanks to the lovely people here who reminded me.

  • I'm not sure if this would be considered noobish as lots of survivors do play this way (mostly Claudette's and Nea's and Meg's) but I was very immersed hiding behind trees, rocks or in lockers and from that I did even worse in chases then I already do.

I'm glad to of watched survivor streamers as I actually am slightly better at doing things then being THAT teammate.

  • Honestly Iron Maiden affecting the locker being open speed animation would be useful but I feel it might be kind of "excessive" with huntress reload add ons, otherwise I like a lot of these ideas.

  • I think it depends, what the survivors are running perks/items, or the killer and their add ons and of course the map, so far they have tried to tip the scales in favor of both sides still somethings do exist that can break this balance for both sides (Ebony Mori's, Haddonfield) I just hope the devs can get to fixing the big issues soon.

Otherwise is been the most balanced I seen dbd been in since is release from 2016.
