  • idk... although sweaty SWF are really frustrating and are almost a guaranteed lost match for the killer, a filter like that would inflate queue times. also, why would a killer willing to rank up ever disable that filter? It would basically be a filter that would make killer games easier.

  • he´s probably not. I´m ok with a nerf, but a rework is going way far.

  • Wait, does BBQ have any interaction with calm spirit?

I am seeing posts complaining about Undying/Ruin/Tinkerer, and I am gonna share you all the counter

(FUN FACT: if this is a meta build now, that means devs made Jeff's perk "Distortion" meta now as it hard counters Undying)

When a totem resets, Undying stays in the same position, so you want to find atleast 2 dull totems before cleansing any hex perks if this build is in use. Upon finding the 2 dulls, cleanse the hex you found (Make sure you activated Ruin first) and after cleansing, check the 2 dull totems you found and if one of the 2 dulls is lit, that means Undying is on the map somewhere so now you have to go and search for Undying, upon finding it cleanse undying and go back and cleanse Ruin, now both Undying and Ruin are out of play

    Summed Up Version

    1. Check a gen for Ruin
    2. Find 2 dull totems
    3. Find a hex and cleanse it
    4. Check the 2 dull totems to see if they are lit

4A. If one of them is lit, continue to step 5

4B. If none of them are lit, check a generator for ruin, if its still up look for both Ruin and Undying (As now know the location of 2 dulls and cleansed 1 hex, leaving 2 hexes remaining) and Cleanse both of the totems, after doing this check the two dulls to see if you cleansed Ruin first or not

5.Leave the new Ruin spawn alone and search for the Undying and cleanse it, then return back to ruin and cleanse that

(Explanation for the Fun Fact: Undying detects auras for 4/5/6 seconds when getting near a totem while Distortion hides your aura and scratch marks for 6/8/10 seconds, so if you find a totem your aura will be hidden from the killer, making Distortion become a mini smallgame, allowing easier cleansing and discovery of totems)

I could swear it would be another 'just do bones lol', thankfully not, sir.

No billy is really weak and that's coming from an old billy main. His mobility and instadown are great but if survivors are efficient he stands no chance. Even 3000+ hour legacy billies I have been able to loop for at least 4 gens, if you never fall for the mindgames then he simply cannot catch you. Thats why I believe only anti loop killers are viable against high skill survivors. It doesn't matter how fast you can go or if you can instadown survivors if you cannot catch them in the first place.

the thing i always wanted to know though, what the nerf impacted him the most? loop curving? i heard so from a lot of other billy mains.

    Are you dev's happy?

I mean...you literaly killed him...one of the most used killers are famous one in ur Game, you literaly killed him...that not even Streamers nor youtubers plays with him, sure they did to show ppl the "nerfs"...

So...apart of all what i wrote above, in your honest opinion because i know you read this:

Did you do a good job at balancing him the way he was...?

I also barely see him in my survivor games, but the problem isn´t that he´s weak: he's not. The problem is that when when they said they were nerfing everybody panicked and started 'oh my god they killed billy' 'billy is dead' and etc. billy is in my opinion stronger than he previously was with the addon reworks(i´m probably really wrong about that though, lol)

After playing againts all killers,Oni is by far my least favorite one to face. What separates him from other high mobility killers is that his ability can be controled much easier, curving walls with ease at high speed while being able to down you in 1hit.

Also the fact all your stealth perks are rendered almost useless if you're injured makes him even less enjoyable to go againts.A good Oni can easily destroy anyone especially on a map with a lot of open spaces, making him a killer that can do good on any map.

hard one to decide, but i´ll go with deathslinger.

  • i think it would be a really nice buff to doc.

    SPECIAL ABILITY: STATIC BLAST

Press and hold the Active Ability button to perform a Static Blast, causing all Survivors within The Doctor's terror radius to scream.

activating STATIC BLAST has a 20% chance to crash the game of the survivors, as well as freezing their games for 2 seconds.

Iridescent king buff: considerably increases the chance of survivors crashing upon activating static blast.

  • Haha yeah, sometimes it seems like the lunge is bigger somehow, but that was actually a normal lunge, it´s pretty big.

Well friend. Let me walk you through the day of a doctor main.

He's sitting down in his chair, ready to play some dead by daylight. Probably just finished watching three hours of stand up comedy. He sees the doctor, hears that loving laugh, and gets into queue.

That didn't take long, which is a shame because he was trying out so many of the doctor's cosmetics! Today he's wearing a suit, using a baseball bat and has absolutely no skin on his head this time. Because Doctor.

Now, where to find the survivors? Doctor doesn't need any game sense. He just pulses his magic circle and he's found someone!

Hooray! Now to begin the chase!

The survivor wants to throw down pallets and vault windows, but you're a doctor main. You know when to perfectly time your shocks. Sometimes Tier 3 Madness blocks the survivor for you! You never have to deal with pallet drops or loops or anything. The only skill you need is timing your shock correctly.

Wow, that was fun! No loops, always know where survivors are. Just press M2 at the right time and it's practically a single player game!

...through every laugh you realize the cold, hard reality. Every match is exactly the same. There's no PvP. You realize why nobody really plays Hag either, despite Hag and Doctor both being strong killers. Once you learn to time your shocks correctly, you realize there is no game. No counterplay, but now you're stuck.

You never learned how to find survivors and you never learned how to deal with loops. Your power did that for you. You can't play any other killer, or really even play Dead by Daylight at all. You're stuck playing Doctor, forever.

At least his laugh is good right?

i´m a doctor main and this is so true lmao, he even cancels dead hard with his shock.

  • Changes to PH and now clown? oh boy i can´t wait. Clown has a lot of potential and i´ve been waiting forever for his buff, and, no pun intended, i find him to be a fun killer. PH should only get his cancel changed, and that´s it. Can´t wait to know which killer will be changed next!

  • @OniWantsUrLocation said:

According to the Q&A stream Devs are monitoring PH. Most likely PH will get "minor changes" (still getting nurse flashbacks)...

Let us remember what so many people have complained about.  I personally can only remember two specific things:

    1. Canceling Rites of Judgment (switching from M2 to M1) has a cooldown of 0.5 seconds. According to many people here this is much too low, because PH can simply fake his M2 without any punishment (0.5 seconds is not really noticeable). The legendary "get hit or get hit"-Situation was born.
    2. PH can negate a lot of perks because of his cages. Especially DS and BT users are NOT happy about that.

So what could they change to make people happy again? Increase the cooldown from 0.5 to 1 second? 1.5 second? 2 seconds? Yeah.. I don't know what they're planning, but a higher cooldown most likely means that he can no longer fake his ability. Since this is his TRUE STRENGTH, such a change would make him drop from tier A to tier C in no time (since I am not a friend of tiers this is only to illustrate that he would lose much of his viability).

So if the cooldown should be increased, then he should get something in return. I don't know what that could be, but just increasing the cooldown alone would kill PH. I don't even want to talk about the scond point. He has a unique ability and that is a good thing imo. But that alone doesn't make a good killer and I really hope that they don't mess him up.

What do you think about it? Will I soon be a sad PH main or will they find a good solution without ruining it completely?

i think they will only change his M2, probably cancel time. His power of negating DS and BT is completely fine to me, and one needs to be very entitled to a nerf because of cancelling those 2 perks. that´s basically what half his power does, and if they nerf his M2 cancel i think he would not need to get changed, ever.

  • Has to do with the addition of blight and the billy rework:

Blight can move at very high speeds, and without a terror radius he can quickly approach people on gens and push them away from it, as well as garantiing a hit.

billy with his new apex muffler addon (survivors can only hear the chainsaw noise when in his terror radius). That with thinkerer basically allows billy be completely silent while using his chainsaw, and chainsaw survivors stealthily

  • @UsernameAndPassword said:

Is The Entity male or female?

the devs have referred to the entity as feminine in the past (she, her), but it probably doesn´t have a gender at all.

  • @crixus006 said:

I don't know why you want to nerf him, he isn't op nor weakness, he is a good killer.... I have played vs him. Sometimes won and lose ... Please check it carefully

IMO they should just nerf cancelling his ability, i think if they did so i wouldn´t even mind buffing him a bit.

  • Happened to me as well but it was even more ridiculous lol. (Happened before the new chapter)

  • I mean, there are so many useless perks in the game ATM, and i mean, change bamboozle, which is in a good spot? nah.

The only way I could see the devs not making it totally closed is if it were modeled after something like Alcatraz. Having the prison on an island is a realistic way to do that. Is that what you were thinking?

yes maybe if it was like that it could work: think of a map like alcatraz, but really reduced in scale of course. In my opinion if it was more outside focused it could be good, like most maps: Outdoors, but a main building in the center, and that building could be the prison (or alcatraz in this case)

  • @AshInTheTallGrass said:

    In a nutshell:

    Killer: A sadistic prison guard

    Survivor: An innocent convict

    Map: An old prison

    Thoughts?

A prison map would be an interesting idea, as it suits the horror theme well and everything, but if it is to be a closed map like midwich, Lery´s or Hawkins, please no. I really don´t like any of them, both as killer and survivor.

  • I think it´s pretty sad IMO, because perks like DS and BT were in fact made for tunneling, but they´re severely abused, and there are some people who don´t abuse it, but use it as actual anti-tunneling perks.

There is something you can do: don’t get found. You’re not meant to win most chases against a killer.

    *laughs in doctor*

  • I find him mostly balanced, but that ranged attack is just... ugh. you loop him and eventually you will have to drop the pallet, when you try to do so all he needs to do is get his ranged attack ready: if you drop it he hits you with his power, if you don´t drop it there is no penalty at all for deactivating his power, so it´s basically a hit as you can´t make it to the pallet in time. Look at huntress for an example: she can hit you through pallets, however when her hatchet is up she moves slower ( while being a 110% movement speed killer!), making it so you can go for another loop if the huntress respects and winds up her hatchets. Doesn´t happen with PH though.

  • So basically having a mori every game and having exposed on survivors who cleanse totems, reducing endgame colapse timer, have to potentially cleanse 5 totems for the perk to deactivate, and only being able to cleanse on endgame that may be really short because of the other effect? It sounds stupidly overpowered.

a great addition to the game! now killers can't dc while us survivors bully them and we can suicide on first hook to make them depip yay!

finally indeed, but i came back at a really bad moment, because of the new patch i´m getting constatly DCed from matches (not only me but a lot of friends of mine) and boy, there´s a point where the penalties are pretty big, and it´s not my fault at all...

  • i made a post about this, and yes they are. it´s like if they´re crooked, they don´t flash at the center of the screen.

  • exactly how it feels to play both sides.

survivor- going against MORIs, hitboxes, hits that have no sense, being facecamped, getting tunneled, etc.

killer- getting genrushed, going against SWF, being called out on postgame chat, etc.

  • I play both sides (rank 5 killer, rank 4 survivor) and gens are just way too quick... So quick in fact that a lot of times you´re checking gens on start of the game finding out where survivors are and a gen pops, like in 30 seconds lol.

  • you´re the guy that made the 'PH, deathslinger and forgot the other killer don´t have counterplay', aren´t you? Kinda agree you on that, the time it takes for him to aim and shoot makes him a no wind up huntress... But well, you gotta predict i guess.

  • forgot to say that i doesn´t limit to only doc and freddy (imo, of course) but also (some) others. Spirit is a great example, good notice on that!

  • @Maperson said:

No, you shouldn't nerf killers who doesn't need nerf just bcs something on other side got nerfed

For me there are some killers that are pretty damn strong, but the sheer power that survivors have right now kinda hides it. If survivors get fixed and dont finish gens in 10 seconds and the match in 5 minutes, i think some killers will be kinda too powerful.

  • @Dwinchester said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/174634/nerfing-killers-after-gen-speeds-survivor-op-things-ok

I wouldnt have a problem with killer nerfs if I had more than 4 minutes and could make more than one mistake against top teams.

If bhvr wants to do their typical, 5% increase in gen times, because that extra 4 seconds is a big deal if you're an umbra level killer, then nerf the crap out of killer, because they're too oppressive to rank 15s, then I won't be ok.

    Exactly how i feel.

  • @Blueberry said:

Freddy strength is what the other killers needs to be brought up to.

Also, I don't think doctor would even make my A tier, much less a nerf.

just like i said however: if they fixed gen speed etc. would all killers need to be that powerful? Not really a way to know, but i personally don´t think so.

  • @gatsby said:

As a Killer, the second I see Tenacity I get extremely suspicious and insta-hook the Survivor. It's not a subtle perk at all and its pretty much only optimal in designated slug builds

wish it got a little buff where you could move immediately after getting downed, would help escape at the last moment in the exit gates.

  • always thought about it, why does dbd only have a competitive gamemode? why not have a more clusterfuck, mess mode? i would really love to see a gamemode with 8 survivors for example. as for the maps, can´t taunting be made on... Any of them? i believe it´s not unique to certain maps. i think a casual gamemode with idk, 2 killers and 8 survivors could be a casual gamemode and 1v4 could be the ranked competitive?

  • @supersonic853 said:

This is a continuation of "what would you change about one perk" discussion from a few days ago. The change id personally do is just lower the stun of ff to like 3 seconds from 4. Its pretty bad when the devs say about with just extending nurses stun (old nurse) theyd rather not make "that mistake again" (obviously reffering to legions 4 second stun). What about you guys? Also next one will probably be addons/items so avoid addons if possible in this discussion thank you!

doctor- remove the ability of not letting survivors drop pallets when shocked.

  • @derppug said:

I feel like we don't talk about this enough, but he has almost no counterplay.

Not much problem with him other than his ranged attack. For some reason on youtubers videos the mark that reveals the attack area appears clearly and for a while, but it appears sooo briefly to me. it´s like it shows the area for 1 image, and then already deals damage. It´s pretty weird.

So where's the option for killers to play with friends then? Ppl on the forums were ACTIVELY against it.

an option for killers to play with friends? you mean, 2 killers in a lobby? I´ve been wanting that for a long time, would be really fun! imagine 2 killers, and 8 survivors, where you don´t need to do gens, just survive an x amount of time? But then again, adding a mode like that and removing the possibility of playing with friends are 2 different things.

  • you can rank up to a certain level just by playing and then after that skill and luck come into play. in the current matchmaking system you can rank up to around rank 8 just by playing, and then after that you´ll need to have good perks and be good at the game to actually rank up.

  • For me there are is a problem:

It is supposed to be a horror game, but it is a competitive game. That is actually a reason why a lot of new players leave the game: they think it´s a scary horror game, but then they go against a huntress for instance and are like wow, that´s it? The only things that are scary, FOR ME, are:

    • immersed ghostfaces
    • scratched mirror myers
    • getting yoinked by pig and wraith (coxcombed clapper, that is).

  • i have a buff idea for distortion: what if, in those 3 charges, standard effect plus+ it reveals the killers aura? so basically you have 3 charges where the killer doesn´t see your aura, but you see theirs.

  • @tykelley said:

Feel free I'm kinda new and what killer should I start maining

i would say doctor! i´m a doctor main, and i find him good to start because there´s not much skill to just picking him and using him. He´s easy to play as, but pretty hard to go against! there´s also pretty interesting builds for him (impossible skillchecks doc and sniper doc, for instance). he´s the whole package, kinda like freddy: his power helps on chases, help slow down the game and really help detecting survivors.

  • @Tricks said:

KYF should be the only iteration of SWF there is otherwise you get cancer like this.

Remove SWF, keep KYF and the only people crying are the people who do this toxic crap.

i don´t know dude... not being able to play with your friends is... weird. There aren´t only toxic genrushing SWF. There´s also people that play for fun, the people that are new to the game and just want to play with their friends... It definetly needs changing as it´s really hard to win when it´s an organized good player SWF, but straight out removing it from the game? i don´t think so.

  • One thing that should be changed as well that would be both good and bad for him (probably would be better) is the struggle out of trap mechanic. right now it either takes 1 try or 200 tries, and it can be infuriating for both the trapper and the survivor. maybe make it a progress(charges) bar and 10 seconds or so to struggle out?

  • i still need to learn to play against him, haven´t played against him much... usually i to zig zag to try and make him miss shots, but that makes me lose a lot of distance... any tips?

  • definetly not the way to go, especially with the new matchmaking, where you can´t change the killer once in a lobby.

  • damn, i found peanits' post so ######### funny, because it's EXACTLY, just as described, how it goes. survivor gets downed at the exit gates with with noed while teabagging and gets hooked. if you leave it´s your fault, you suck and you´re not a team player. killer literally spends 5 minutes in a chase and 3 gens pop? toxic genrushers. teammate sits behind pallets dropping them without looping the killer, wonders why the team goes down so fast.

  • I just wish there was a way, a single way to know if the killer has noed before the exit gates are powered. pretty sad when you cleanse all totems and the killer doesn´t have it. then it wastes survivor times for nothing. i wonder, if there was a way to know if the killer has NOED, if it would have some impact on gen speeds, 'cause survivors would spend some time cleansing totems, or not cleanse them and get exposed at the end.

  • that´s an interesting idea, because it doesn´t punish the killer, but instead compensates it for survivors. hell, one of these days i was even thinking about a mechanic where the killer camped a survivor the survivor would bleed out slower, giving more time to the other survivors to do gens... But this is a lot better.
