Mixed opinions is telling the devs that this game is balanced. The only way you guys will make a dent in changing this game is if you are all on board with the same thing. This game is obviously balanced because everyone is being biased to there own side and I would say there is an even amount on both sides. There's nothing much else to say.

That isn't at all what that means. The statistics prior to this patch, which were 50/50 on both sides, means it WAS balanced. Besides the perks that needed nerfing on Survivor side. That is it. Period. Killers didn't need all the buffs they got across the board while at the same time nerfing everything Survivors had that would have dealt with said buffs. Let alone ACTUAL tunneling. Which was said to be addressed but in fact has been made worse.

Pentimento can’t be booned, I think.

Also, booning a hex takes way longer than regular totem booning. You might be wasting more time than you’re gaining anyhow.

It takes the Hex out without breaking the bones to give them another spot for Penta.

Also idk about that, unless my Buddy had a glitch in the lobby when I told him about it and he was able to Boon a Penta totem

  • "Perk variety"

.> just had an update to get rid of a meta in the game only to be thrust into another meta much like every other game

Not to mention. Perk Variety? There is no ######### variety if you just stack perks to do the same ######### thing lmfao That's the literal point of the post to have MORE variety by forcing less combo's that are broken and become overpowered.

Then why do you waste your time with DbD and it's forum if you seem to hate it so much? If you don't like it, don't play it, and do not annoy the people that actually enjoy the game with your negativity.

It's almost like the loudest feedback is from the people who have problems with a product. Because the peopel who are fat and happy are off enjoying said product. But considering Killer times are up to 13 minutes during peek hours and survivors are almost an insta queue, that clearly means they can't even get balance with DBD right. Let alone putting out a patch that fixes one thing and breaks 6 others

  • @Oscarnator said:

I mean Sprint Burst and COH are still the best perks by far. The other 2 can be hook or anti tunnel related. Gives more flexibility instead of running the same exact thing.

You shouldn't need to rely on a perk slot being used to just not be tunneled out off hook. It's entirely unfun for the person getting off hook and it's dogshit for the rest of the team who then get to put up being a person down at 4-5 gens remaining

  • @DoritoHead said:

This is a toxic relationship, you need to let go and let them live their own life without constant judgement from you.

Sorry, wrong post. You do realize that the team working on DBD aren’t the only people who work for BHVR right? Most to all of the people making these other games never worked on dbd to begin with.

I like how this is always a question asked like people are somehow stupid. I do know this. Yes. I also know, unlike you have seemed to realize, FUNDING is pushed to other departments and developers for THEIR games inside of said company. Funding that could go to a better coding team and testers so that all these broken things don't contnue to happen. Or that some of the spaghetti is straightened out after 6 years.

  • @Pucci21 said:

it is hilarious how in their pathetic attempt to make perks not mandatory they make them even more so, now that no one carries BT you HAVE to have OtR if you don't want to be tunneled.

Dont' worry. Everyone will start using it to counteract the tunneling and then BHVR will say it's too overused and nerf it into the ground while not actually addressing the issue at hand.

  • @MrJack20252 said:

this could be a dumb answer but.. after the change a lot of people are in the wrong mmr where they don't belong, a lot of people were literally carried by the old DH,DS,BT,UB build. try to getting an higher mmr and you will notice that Killer could still be a challenge, keep playing and good survivors will show up.

Except. no. They won't. Because numerous videos have proven not only does MMR not work, but there are far less survivors in the pool to match you up with better peopel in general. You can talk ######### about the old system all you want. At the end of the day, if somebody was in Red ranks and wanted to keep their red ranks. They actually had to play in the match and do things to overall help their team. 2 gens/ 2 unhooks/ 2 chases, etc.

No #########. But they also made the grind worse in many aspects while taking away the best BP skills. Something you're not understanding. Which was the entire point of them adding the incentive while taking the BP away from those perks

Reports of 0 Gens Finished 4ks are wildly exaggerated.

A 10% buff to kicking pallets doesn't remove the 30 pallets on every map that M1 killers have to slog through, nor does a 2.5% regression kick stop 40% of survivor gens popping by the first hook state.

Nurse is really good for those who can use her right and most of the rest of the cast still sucks super hard. And unlike half the killer cast, she hasn't been nerfed into uselessness.

If you can play nurse well, why would you bother with anyone else?

OH NO! YOU MEAN A KILLER HAS TO DEAL WITH PALLETS DURING A CHASE WHILE ALSO GETTING BLOODLUST FASTER?? WHATEVER WILL YOU

Anyway. Nurse is absolutely braindead and was already proven to take little to no skill to catch on to. Yet still manages to make you play an entirely different game than you do with every other killer. She's an absolute joke. Lets also take into account how janky most "Hits" are. So you have people who just wildly blink around and start swinging into the breeze and connecting hits when they aren't confident. But gradually, even in matches, you can start to see them get the hang of it. Because again, it takes no time at all

  • @Dead_Harder said:

Yeah i always got confused when people said being tunneled was 'denying to play the game' and then turn around and say the chase was the most fun part of the game and gens were boring.

Yeah, cause putting a cake offering on and walking out with 5k points instead of 30k is great

  • I'm beyond tired of it. Five games now. FIVE in a row. Camping and tunneling in all of them. Hitting players on hook while they stare them in the face. Last game I was taken off hook to be chased across the ######### map just to down me again while Jane was running right next to her. IT's ridiculous and honestly i'm ######### over it.

No, I think they're currently shooting for 55-60% kill rates, slightly over half, but the actual kill rate recently was around 50%.

Which is wild. Considering 50/50 is a balanced experience

Pretty much all the basekit buffs pair good with certain addons in his kit. (Less distance? Recloak and uncloak. Faster pallet speed? Shadowdances) i hope everyone else can give him a shot again. Has anyone else tried him since the patch?

If you're gonna try to do me dirty, I will respond in kind

According to the devs and their data, killers were not getting enough killers prior to the recent patch. So, it being their game, they concluded something was wrong with the game and needed changing. So now, as you have done, we can say if you can't survive against the current killers, perhaps you're just bad at playing Survivor and need more time at it. Sucks to hear, but it's the truth.

Plenty of people got kills prior. The problem with their "Data" is that it's not properly separated. You have entire pools of "Kill Data" that doesn't show who's new to what killer, when they all play differently. much like you have the statistic for Nurse being the lowest kill rate. But doesn't take into account people getting to the point of learning her and then being absurdly broken when using her properly.

But now you have absurd buffs on Killer and even Killers are saying it's too ######### easy now. So go ahead. What's the excuse then. We'll all wait

  • @TheLastHook said:

it was actually nothing to do with too much BP, it had a major effect on matchmaking times, which is why the decision to kill switch it was made.

There are no plans for double BP for this, this feature was only ever meant to help with queue times for specific sections when it was needed - it was not meant to be the 100% all the time either, that was not working as intended.

Had an effect on times?? Killer queue's were STILL ######### through the roof while Survivors were getting instant queue's because there weren't enough of us WITH the bonus on. What are you even talking about

And LOL "Varying percentage". So you take away BP bonuses on Perks because of the implementation of this system. IMMEDIATELY disable said system, leaving the grind to be just as bad as it was prior to do anything on multiple characters. But then decide to vary the amount of bonus for literally no reason. What even is going on in your heads

  • @Seraphor said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3083328#Comment_3083328

End Game DS was indeed a problem, and highly abusable, you down a survivor with it near an exit gate and they were guaranteed to escape, but that's not an issue any more. It didn't need another nerf to 3s as well though.

DH was also abusable, using it purely for distance didn't require any skill or require the killer to 'bait it', it just artificially extended chases, and it was especially bad at exit gates. It could also be used to completely negate killer powers, like bear traps, and shock blast. It's in a much better place now. It still works as it used to for tanking hits, same duration of 0.5s, and if you use it correctly and do tank the hit, you still get the speed boost. But now it's not used for whiffing powers or free distance.

DS had a CD and a window of use. Nobody told you to pick that person up. And if they were in a locker, nobody told you to grab them for it to be used. You did that on your own. Further, if you tunneled them off hook and it got used on you, then it was working as intended. Lets stop making excuses up for every single ######### Survivor perk. Because it's getting old.

Newsflash. Sprint Burst and Lithe both give distance too at different times. You're just crying about it because it was used at the end of a chase. That's it. OH NO, SOMEBODY DEAD HARDED THROUGH A BEAR TRAP?!? Be a shame if there wasn't X amount more on the map, or you used that Bloodlust to herd them back towards another once the DH had been used.

Yes. I play Killer. Yes. I knew how to bait a dead hard or when it was coming and how to adjust around it. It wasn't hard.

  • @Seraphor said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3082472#Comment_3082472

So forcing underserved killer nerfs based on falsely inflated data so you can make survivors OP again?

Even without bully tools you still try to bully killers.

How were they OP? Because they had an exhaustion perk that you didn't know how to bait out? Or because they had a perk to escape tunneling (DS) that just got nerfed and you didn't like being stabbed after tunneling and downing? I await your logic.

  • @Marigoria said:

I mean after the dead hard nerf I’ve already seen people on here complaining about lithe. Some people will only be happy when all perks are as bad as self care.

Most killers I meet in post complain about literally every perk. They won't be happy until Survs just spawn in on the ground with no perks tbh lad

(I play both sides equally. It's a joke for all you pissy killers who will come in and try to get heated over this)

Then don't complain about being tunneled. If I'm not allowed to ever lose (or drop to defend a gen) chase, then I'm not going to give you up.

If the killer identifies someone with a really strong healing setup, the best strategy is to remove them. If an injured surv can be nearly instantly healed on demand, the amount of them sink that creates is inconsistent with being able to win. It's why CoH was such a problem, especially for certain hit and run killers.

But I think the real reason they making self-care unusable is the same uncomplicated reason they nerfed most of these other perks: because they don't want people to use them as much. They want us to use other things. They pretty much explicitly said so.

I continue to be surprised by how many people are perplexed as to why these perks were crippled; that was the point.

And frankly I think self care is/was more of a problem for survivors, because on its own it was/is a massive timesink. I hated teammates who ran self care.

Okay? Then while you're tunneling and camping that one person out, don't complain about being "Gen Rushed" as per the usual Killer monkey brain excuse is

  • @DBDVulture said:

Healing indefinitely at high speed made getting hit nearly irrelevant.

First off, then dont' lose chase. Second. Self Care wasn't a "High Speed" healing perk for yourself. It literally was double the amount of time somebody else healing was. Your logic is flawed. If you're going to complain about SC you might as well complain and whine about green med kits as well

Those types of players say the same thing about most other perks as well. When what it really comes down to is that it is easier for them to blame others for their own shortcomings and mistakes. They're doing it now with OTR, because that as well is an anti-tunneling perk 💀

The problem is still apparent. Even off the hook, killers are still whacking people right away which, yes, activates the purpose of OTR. But when they come back straight to the hook majority of the time or proxy it, it defeats the purpose of no scratch and grunts when you're either getting hit immediately or being chased for 5 seconds because they think you might just have base BT. Regardless, with the killer chages to lowered attack recovery and decrease in time it takes to get into bloodlust, anti tunnel ######### is still just as pointless as it was

  • @danielmaster87 said:

It's anti-tunnel and more. Now, it just isn't a free escape in endgame. You can still abuse it in a match with Off The Record and exhaustion perks and all of that to basically run at the killer and say, "Come get me" and they'll be punished for downing you within 60 seconds, even after they've hooked someone else.

Wait wait wait. So what you're telling people is, that you can "Abuse" a perk that is intended for anti tunneling, which would also imply said killer is trying to tunnel. Wild

  • @Murgleïs said:

DS ain’t gone. It’s still a decent perk.

The time change to it along with the recovery from the killer plus other changes makes it nigh impossible to be used. Watched somebody playing with it and every time the killer caught up within what felt like a blink and just downed again.

  • @Marigoria said:

    Are you really surprised?

Killers said they only camped and tunneled because gens were going by too fast, now that gens are slower they're still tunneling and camping and now with almost no penalty to it.

Which is laughable. Because i had a game just the other day where a Bubba was proxy camping Shack basement for a hook. Wouldn't commit to a chase. I said screw it (i'm a solo player and i'm not stupid) I went and started doing Gens. Did 4 on my own while my team continued to just swap out who was going down and what not. Ended up getting hatch while he was chasing me. He was literally upset and said I was selfish for doing gens while they were going for unhooks and that I gen rushed him....

Yes. But DS was the issue. lmfao

  • @VonCrow said:

"I cannot E anymore after losing a mindgame to tbag the killer after reaching the window, the game is dead".

This is really, REALLY preposterous. I'd be happy to not see this type of players in the game anymore.

Did you say the same thing when killers were upset about not being able to rely on Ruin to pressure the map for them?

  • @Alphasoul05 said:

I'm curious, if it was only DH and DS nerfed, and none of the killer buffs happened outside of the perk changes, would you be happy?

Do you see any benefits in the killer changes as a whole? Do you see more varied killers, despite the slow down builds you're encountering, or do you still see the same ones the most? I see a lot of people focusing on the negatives but I wonder if you ignore any of the benefits.

Here's the thing. The pallet break and door bust changes are fine. Though let me edit my initial statement and say coupled with the perk that lets you take less time recovering from a pallet hit, it's absolutely ######### rough. However the increase in recovery from a hit/miss were already something a perk gave you. Which now also stacks with said perk. Why did they need this? On top of that, they also got a decrease in time it takes to get to Bloodlust stages. Also why. Gens were already being increased in time, meaning there was slightly more fluff while gen regression perks got buffed as well. All of that did not need to be coupled together.

DH and DS needed nerf. I never used those anyway. But far too many people relied on them.

I cannot really recall if he recently got a 50 winstreak. After mmr was implemented, that is. I recall he got close, or perhaps he did make it, but he was actually dodging high mmr lobbies to achieve it, for obvious reasons. You do not get 50 winstreaks against good survivors. It just does not happen. If he did in fact get one recently, it would certainly prove my claim about the loosened mmr.

A lot of people are apparently experiencing mixed lobbies ever since this update. Literal baby survivors in lobbies with survivors who have been playing for years. Not sure about the veracity of those rumors, myself.

But the point remains, the game is survivor sided when people are playing optimally. The issue is, as I am sure you are aware, survivors rarely are. Not that I blame them. Between archives and how boring gen rushing is... It makes sense why so many try more eccentric playstyles that are not exactly going to work on some sweaty killer playing as mean as possible.

I have 2k hours. Been playing since around Oct 2020. I was Red Rank when I like to think it mattered. Considering you had to actually play the game and do objectives to get and keep your rank. My lobbies have been filled with people who have 20-200 hours of the game. Walking around doing nothing, hiding in the basement when the killer is nowhere near them, and blowing gens every time a skill check comes up. It's not a "recent" thing with the patch. MMR in general is dog #########. It doesn't take into account how many gens you do, unhooks, heals, loops, etc. It just counts if you escape or not. Same with killer, only kills count to go up. Nothing else. So no matter how well you do all around. The system only cares about your bottom line. And you get banished to playing with people who have no idea what they're doing because of it.

And it's been long enough. Lets stop using the term "Gen Rushing" when that's all they/we can do. It's our ONE objective. If you're being "Rushed", you aren't pressuring enough. The only relative term is camping and tunneling. And the Gen Rush term was only ever and will only ever be used by killers who don't overall pressure the map. They chase one person for far too long, ignore all other things going on around them, then say they were gen rushed when multiple gens start going off.
