It reminds me of Warframe and how a dev there (which honeslty are good devs) said that people used to complain about Limbo (a playable character) and now they dont so much anymore so, clearly, people have found some way to use him after all.....
yeah... OR people realized their complaints were never heard and stopped investing.
The community here is no different, most of the people complaining are new here on the forums and we can tell them "hey welcome to the club, we complained about this about 2 years ago and nothing has happened since, but go on, maybe you will be the one who finally gets through".
Yes they give up because they arnt heard, they are seemingly just ignored, and it makes sense to complain when something is changing because that is when it has the most chance of getting recognition, but if after weeks of complaining nothing is done still, then yeah...why keep investing your time?
Gonna have to disagree with the warframe devs bit. Did you not hear about Rebecca saying "What if every helminth ability was good??" like it was gonna be some plague that breaks everything in the game. If every helminth ability was good we would have actual build diversity and people would be far more willing to revist old, dated warframes that could have great synergies with other abilities. Nerfing Pillage won't make us want to use Terrify, we will just used a watered down Pilliage.

Its small, and almost all gens are middle gens, which makes applying pressure easier, and can result in a 3 gen endgame.
I like the map as a killer player.

Totem trapper
Devour hope + Ruin and the other two perks are your choice, but I prefer bbq and Stbfl
Protect the totems, trap them into oblivion. If they try to cleanse them, they will spend the whole game contesting it with you. If they try to ignore them, boom, they are all one shot and mori-able.
SO underrated. I would argue its easily his strongest build.

The survivor one is pretty bad, but like, Bubba is actually better than Wraith for hook camping. You can use Insidious to deny BT and even if it goes off, who gives a shoot? Bubba's chainsaw flurry can easily chew through the BT extra health state. Unless you are using the Speed Limiter and the survivor getting rescued with BT has Adrenaline and healed as soon as they were unhooked you should have 0 problems with shutting down saves as Bubba.
Tis true, but the rescuer doesn't know you're there as Wraith. They would probably just continue to do gens if they see you camping the hook, where as with the Wraith, they most likely don't know you're there.
If you really wanted the survivor on the hook dead, Bubba would be the better option, however, strategically speaking, Wraith would be the better pick

Not on this update. one of previous updates
I think my biggest problem with her nerf is that playing her well doesn't justify the reward. She has way less map pressure, and less chase potential, as well as being even more punishing to new Nurse players.
The only thing that needed to change about her was her addons, those being extra blinks and blink range. I used to play her alot, and it sucks to see how hard she has fallen off. She simply isn't fun to play anymore.

Why did BHVR nerfed again the nurse if it already was hard see a nurse and even harder see a nurse playing well?
Did they nerf the Nurse again??

then you're not a bully. you're just playing the game normally like any other non-toxic rank 1 survivor with these days' matchmaking
F to that killer. The game honestly changed for me as soon as I hit rank 12 (first green rank), but I guess you go against those ranks at grey ranks :/

if you act toxic (teabag. taunt. flashlight click. etc.) then yes. you're a bully.
if you're playing normally. then no.
I never teabagged or nothing like that-
I brought green toolboxes and yellow flashlights, as well as a grey medkit cause I have a bunch of them, but that's it.

Playing survivor in levels with colourschemes like Yamaoka's Estate, I'm colourblind and can't see anything, so stealth killers jumpscare the sh!t out of me every time. I'm never ready.
Well, Mathieu said that they are looking into colour blind settings. It's just hard to do it so other players don't take advantage of it by seeing things easier.
Hopefully it comes soon :)

Myers literally cannot die. He is literally the incarnate of evil. Oni could smash him all he wants, but he would still die by a sort of "Death by a thousand cuts"
-
Pig all the way
Her power needs to be less harsh against her, but being able to mute your terror radius is huge! (hence why you can play Ghostface well without even stalking)
Her dash can also be used at loops very effectively, it just takes practice.
Her only issues is the Rbt rng.

Survivors who act like they’re gods gift and think everything is sunny and happy, when it’s not.
Killers who act like it’s the end of the world every single game when gens go fast. Just move on, it’s normal DBD.
Too much complaining from both sides when it would be better if we all just got along and worked together to make DBD a better game.

no you cant not if youre not being altruistic or bringing light.....
My point was that people saying rank means nothing is a testament to how the ranking system is a flawed design. You could be the best survivor in the whole world and if you just stopped playing for a couple months, you would be at rank 15. Alternatively, you could be using old prayer beads spirit every single game with regular use of moris, and you would still probably make it to rank 1.
Rank means nothing because rank doesn't, and probably never will, accurately represent a players skill

@cosmicvolts said:

"Skillfully"
I can rank up using a key to escape every time. Does that make me skilled?
-
Pwf just feels awful
You give up multiple free hits so you can move faster.
Basically, you make your first chase way too long so your next chase could possibly be shorter. Not fun.
-
This is like a cursed image without the humor
That is really ######### weird..
Also that perk would be awful on swf teams where they can afford to lose a survivor or two. It would make gen speeds 50 percent faster, not counting any previous progress or stacking on gens

What I like most about DbD?
Hard to tell... I like how immersive some matches feel, playing against killers with no terror radius. Even after years of playing, DbD still scares the crap out of me sometimes. :)
Nothing gets my heart racing more than having a pig/ghostface walk by me with no tr-

Basically just anyone goofing around, killer or survivor
I've had a game where they were all default Dwight ( I was expecting to get bullied lol) and they just did a crouching conga line past me

Run Spine Chill ffs.
It is the biggest give away as to whether or not she is phasing, since when she is phasing, she will still activate spine chill, while her husk doesn't. Spine chill is a good perk in general, but imo is a better to counter to Spirit than Iron Will.

There are tons of goofy meme builds out there that can be alot of fun. Head on is a favorite perk of mine. If I get a head on stun in a game I consider it a win. I'm almost finished leveling up for Adam's pebble perk. I look forward to trying it out.
Pebble is meta. Got it in the shrine months ago, and its goofy as hell throwing a rock as a diversion.
One of my favorite survivor perks
-
Try more unique builds tbh.
I play alot of trapper, I use Devour, Ruin, Bbq, and STBFL.
The strat goes like this:
- Trap the totems at the start of the game
- If the survivors try to cleanse, contest those totems and they will spend the whole game trying to break them. No gens will get done.
- If they try to ignore them and get through gens, they get to face the most dangerous killer perks in the game
This is just one example, but running Spirit Fury+Enduring Bbq and Ruin/Corrupt every game will get old. It is kinda up to you to spice up your gameplay. Try a new killer! Try perks you don't use alot!
Even if you don't 4k everytime, thats fine. The less seriously you take this game, the better. You're goal should be to have fun in the match.
I hope this helps :)

I can't give you details, but judging by Sally's reaction when she inhales one of them, they smell really bad ... like really bad.
They are the last breaths of people, so they probably smell like the purest form of death.
Like, what old towns smelled like during the Black Plague.

So you know how more recent killers kinda have some properties of other killer's powers? Like Oni kinda being like Billy, or Ghostface being similar to Myers and Pig? Well this is what happens when the Entity goes overboard. It went too far trying to make the perfect killer. Her RBTs will make you have a constant Deep Wound effect and will progressively give Madness, she can sprint crazy fast with the chainsaw but goes into a tantrum if she hits a wall, but has the control of Oni. She can make survivors Broken by puking on them. She can turn invisible with her gas bottles and stalk survivors for a one hit down. She can blink using her Censer from Plague, which was filled with Nurses blinks. Also she can set bear traps that she can teleport to when someone steps in them. She can place portals that teleport to generators. She also has mini hooks she can throw to reel survivors in, but she has to get more at lockers. She can also throw gas bottles that turn her invisible and give her a speed boost. Bam, one property from every killer, including Deathslinger.
I'm honestly impressed you were able to come up with all of that
But that begs the question what Nurses blinks smell like-
^^^ That's something I never thought I would say

faster shot, no need to go to a locker, deep wound and the ability to reel them in to apply an M1/basic attack on them aka sloppy butcher / 3rd Seal / NoeD / etc etc viable
thats your trade off.
"Make him able to pull survivors over pallets. Right now, survivors have no reason to not drop pallets early."
Which is something that is good as well, he ends loops quicker, and where with the huntress you try to not drop a pallet, with him you do, again, a trade off, something that differentiates them
Also stop making conclusions so damn early pls, its not intelligent.
I'm just calling how it is. I know he is going to probably be more powerful when he is fully released, but it doesn't take 3 months to fully understand a character in a video game. I apply logic and how the game works to make the character more viable.
I'm trying to understand what other people think along with how I think he should work, how is that unintelligent?
-
@[Deleted User] said:
He needs lethality with his power. I'm kind of baffled by his current state because we've already seen a 110% killer that applies Deep Wound with their power but has to play around pallets to down survivors: it was original Legion, and they were pretty much universally disliked. It just doesn't work. A 110% killer has to have a counter to loops because the objective as a killer is to actually down and hook people, not apply Deep Wound. Nobody likes Deep Wound.
His ability to force survivors out of position from a distance is what makes him different from Huntress. I think that is something that needs to be capitalized.
-
Ehhh.. not feeling it.
Perks are the bread and butter for making gameplay fun and interesting for both survivors and killers. The one hook death would only amplify this.
As much as I wanna see more game modes, its unlikely any will get added any time soon.

I don't consider DBD as a pvp game andd the element of rng is what attracks me to the game (amongst other things). I understand you want to c ompare these two but they are not in the same genre. this isn't a pvp game, the hitboxes are simple and there is no distinction in where you hit someone or how much damage you inflict if you hit him in the head of arm. It's a total different system in its own. Gens are placed differently every map. survivors change perks, killer change perks, totems is pure rng esp. your hex totem is pure rng. it's a very dynamic game and therefore very hard to "balance".
It is fine that every game is different, hell, that's what attracts alot of people to it. But rng is taken too far when it can dramatically effect whether someone wins or not.

@Gandalf said:

you're compairing apples and oranges either way. There is so much rng in DBd that outplaying is simply a matter of a combination of RNG and a small part of how well survivors are playing themselves and how well you play yourself in pressuring the gens and cutting chases in time. But most part is RNG
Isn't that problematic that winning is based on luck?? Every Pvp game needs to have a chance for the better player to defeat their opponent.
You guys are pointing out the problems I was just talking about in an attempt to make a counter argument.
Irony.
-
@Gandalf said:
You made a fundamental error by comparing Apex to dbd. APex is a COMPETITIVE SHOOTER game and DBD is a casual Chase game where RNG is a big part of the gameplay and therefore it only has certain ELEMENTS of competitive play but more because of the chase factor and escape factor that makes it this way.
You missed the point entirely.
Apex has equal oppurtunity to outplay. This is something that Dbd currently lacks.

@SleepyWillo said:
Not agreeing with much here... Certain maps do need to be looked at BUT killer is easier now than it's ever been. I don't know what people want. Do you want survivors to spawn on the hooks? I'm red ranks and even with 4man swfI can reliably get at least 3k. Latest statistics released showed most killers getting about 70% kill rate (nurse was the outlier at around 40% iirc). Do you need 100% kill rate to be happy? Sometimes you just have to understand you got outplayed and move on...
It sounds like you haven't read the post. I'd recommend reading what I actually said before commenting.

In a 1v4, the 1 SHOULD be the power role, because the 4 are the strength in numbers role.
This is true, but it is important to understand it is a pvp game. Both sides should have an equal chance of outplaying the other. The real issue is the random nature of the game. Survivor brought a key? Your 4k turned into a 2k. Trying to run scratched mirror myers? Boom, Rotten Fields. The biggest issue is that it is hard to take the game seriously when there are so many factors you cannot control whatsoever.
-
The game is supposed to be asymmetrical, it would be ridiculous to think that killers should be the 'power role', since no one would want to play survivor. However, It really annoys me that the devs want the game to be competitive when getting the wrong map can screw you over for the whole game.
-
When I first started playing, I thought the hatch sound was like.. some badass music to signify that there is only one survivor left hiding. fortunately we were both rank 20 4heads so I still found and closed the hatch

Doctor was one of my absoulute favourites when I first started the game, but as I climbed ranks, he felt worse and worse. Now, the rework hits, I've returned to my favourite. Static Blast, combined with Add-ons and Perks to increase the TR makes it super easy to track down hiders. Combining that with Iridiscent King for the ability to add each Add-on effect per shock attack, mmm. The craziness it brings is glorious, and there are a fair few high rankers that seem to struggle against all these effects. I've seen Gens explode more from the counter-clockwise effect, or survivors dropping pallets everywhere in fear of the eternal TR effect. I love Doctor now, and with the added lore with him, I couldn't ask for more!
Absolutely agree with everything you said.
I'm not easily scared, but his Tome cutscene is just.. wrong-
