  • Tbh I just say make the perk operate as it does now but the survivor goes into the Broken state for a period of time to help balance it out since they'd be stuck as an injured 1 hit KO for a short time before being able to be healed

They haven't gone out yet. Our pockets are pretty unremarkable, though. I've got a phone, wallet, keys, and other normal boring things in mine, same for most other people.

Oh you don't have bacon in your pockets like I do? What a weirdo. *eats bacon*

  • Is this supposed to be news? This community has always been toxic. The best thing you can do for yourself honestly is to just enjoy the game and have fun based on your own standards. Like whenever a survivor Tbags me I just see it as a free twerking session.

  • Underrated: Trapper for sure

    Overrated: Huntress for hitboxes

Might be wise to take your own advise and apply to the forums.

    ^.~

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what we call a BURN!

  • I remember this movie! Ugh it even left on a cliffhanger and there hasn't been a sequel since. Like there is so much potential! Like this time maybe the victims use today's VR sets which could lead to some gnarly jumpscares! Sorry for geeking out. I just love that movie. It's a classic in my opinion. Just give it some time like The Breakfast Club. But yes. I would LOVE to have her in DbD. They should also bring the Goth girl October as a survivor. THAT would be dope.

You do not see him the whole time.In between time when vaulting the window is when you lose vision.Thats when the situation is a 50/50.Then mindgames can be involved if you fall for the window fake moonwalk next time so he thinks that you went back cause he doesnt se the stain but you actually come up behind and hit him

Very true. That can and does happen. I just usually don't stay at a spot for too long and try to run the Killer around the map instead of a pallet.

  • @OMagic_ManO said:

Object of Obsession is seen as a perk to insta know who the Killer is and a perk for overconfident Survivors who think they can run a Killer around for 5 gens, I killed one recently with Freddy.

At least you get to kill them. For me they usually DC :P

At least no more entire lobbies de-pip due to rage quitting scrublords:

I love the editing on that picture. I'm a Trapper Main and seeing that Trapper run those addons together made me cringe. He should've brought at least a Trapper bag and then one of those addons. The more Traps you have, the better.

When the killer is hiding his red stain, I usually just run away to a next loop if possible, but in most cases, it's a pure guess, you never know which way he is going unless you can see him.

I especially hate T walls, where you're about to vault a window and have to guess if the killer is going to follow you or double back.

    What I mean:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/127/BQ19IH0PUZ03.png

Tbh as a killer, I HATE T-Walls. You can see right through them since they have gaps in between the boards and whenever I play survivor, the only person the killer is mindgaming is himself since I usually have him in my sights.

  • What's with this 'the forums are killer sided' fad I keep seeing? Because from from what I've seen, there's both killer and survivor players on here and we get along just fine.

I think your assuming this is to test for a new game mode to split the player base. I wouldn't be so quick to draw that conclusion. This could very well be there way of testing how balanced the core game is and to see how much of the imbalances are because of perks or because of base game design. I think they could be just trying to narrow down the core game issues for imbalance.

If it is indeed for a new game type then I agree with you that it is a bad idea to split the player base for it. This is why I'm not one of the people wanting a new game mode. I think the core game just needs improvements.

    This was my guess tbh^

  • Yeah I call it the 'WhipLash' bug. You press space, pick up the trap and then proceed to break your neck. Plus I have no clue why they changed up the auras of the traps. Makes no sense. I've adapted to it but still see no reason for the change that was not needed or even wanted in the first place

"Blocks the farthest gens from the survivors rushing them"

    Irrelevant

"Isn't a Hex perk that can be taken out in 30 seconds"

    Because it essentially cleanses itself

"Lasts for a solid 2 minutes"

Which makes the perk trash. Rank 1 survivors that aren't ######### will just sit back, not touch a gen and wait for the timer to end. Now it was a completely wasted perk slot. Those 2minutes isn't even time gained because you aren't getting a chase. It is literally just changing when the game starts and essentially just sitting everyone in a map afk for 2minutes.

For your first response, it is relevant. It allows you control over which 2 areas you'd like to patrol; the blocked gens or the non-blocked gens as well as if you're a Trapper player like me, allows you to set traps and find survivors before they can get 1 gen done.

As for your second response, you are correct. It does cleanse itself. But at least the time it lasts isn't dependent on RNG and praying to the Entity that it's good to you because if not, that hex is gone in less than 30 seconds.

As for your last response. From my experience, the perk is only trash when you make it trash. Depending on how you use those 2 minutes decides whether the game is gonna so easy, medium, or hard on you. Hex: Ruin is overrated in my honest opinion. It's RNG based, can be destroyed, and trying to depend a totem instead of defending the gens results in a not-so-good time for a killer when the survivors know how to keep distance and stay hidden.

  • Corrupt Intervention is way better than Ruin because...

    1. Blocks the farthest gens from the survivors rushing them
    2. Isn't a Hex perk that can be taken out in 30 seconds
    3. Lasts for a solid 2 minutes

    Why STBFL and Dark Devotion

Dark Devotion for the mind games of sneaking up on the survs while having STBFL to get melee cooldowns throughout the match. It works very well as having both a perk for hitting the Obsession and the non-Obsessions.

  • @Orion said:

Yes. All TR effects are transferred with Dark Devotion.

Sweeeeet. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't using a Dead Build. Thanks bud! Btw who the hell downvoted an answer to a question? Dafuq? xD

  • The devs have probably seen a lot of the concerns with the perk and are more than likely working on a fix. These things take time and even though I'm a Trapper main, I refuse to let MoM ruin the game for me. I just play and enjoy the game out of every chase and encounter and interaction I get. I've thought of a possible trade off for MoM to make it balanced and here's my suggestion for anyone interested.

MoM still works the way it currently does which saves your skin for a 3rd hit but you are put into the broken state for at least 30 seconds so that way you wouldn't be able to heal until after the broken effect runs out which in turn would buy the Killer a little more time overall while the survivor still gets the initial effect.

  • @Blueberry said:

Ruin isn't even that good, it's just the best we have by far. The games are too fast not to use it.

Also, rank 1 is still too easy to get to currently. If you are still stuck at 10 then you aren't having games as successful as you are letting on, or you're just getting kills from NOED.

Being red ranks as Trapper is maddening OwO

  • I don't. Tunneling and camping are both boring. I'd much rather chase the whole lobby and interact with everyone and make a fun experience over all. As a Trapper main, I know the game isn't balanced to fairly reward my skill with certain attributes so I decide to make the most of it not just for me, but the people in my lobby too. I don't know about you guys, but I like to have fun when playing my killer and like to be a fun killer to verse ^_^

  • The way I keep playing Killer is just not giving a damn about what some uncultured crybaby swines have to say and I play my way. And I know that with the way I play, only uncultured crybaby swines usually talk crap for the sake of talkin crap.

  • @Shivadeathkiss said:

I thought repairing gens was the whole point of the game. I didn't know "gen rushing" is an actual thing. I thought it was just doing the objective of the game. What's there to do? Fix gens, take out totems, open door and run from killer.... So yeah I'd say gen rushing is just a myth, and it's more just doing the objective and playing the game as designed.

You're one of those, 'gen rushing doesn't exist' people? Well then by your logic, what else is there the for the killer to do? You're supposed to chase the survivor and sacrifice them on the hook. So camping and tunneling doesn't exist either right? ^_^

  • For me as killer, the genrushing went through the roof. It's like the survs now only wanna play mechanic simulator >.>

  • Being a killer main since 2016 I have to say that the survivors are way worse; they want to argue, complain, cry, ######### n moan, accuse, yada yada yada and it has not changed. Sure there are some bad apple killers but they usually just say their salty comment and then leave.

I still remember how back in the day the devs used to cater and only buff survivors and nerf killers to the complete ground. Hell. They even nerfed Freddy into the ground only A WEEK after his release due to all the cries from the survivor side. It was honestly horrendous and downright pathetic with how much more the survivors were catered to over us killers then. I even remember when the devs quote and quote 'accidentally' reduced the size of Trapper's traps.

Anyhow. To me, the toxicity originates from the survivor side and from the years of playing this game, most of the salty comments from salty/toxic killers always have something to do with a past match that was sparked from a toxic group of survivors. And what's funny, lots of the old killer mains I used to see back in the day either changed to survivor mains or just downright quit due to how bad it got and lots of the toxic killers I've seen lately used to be toxic survs I've versed. Has no one else noticed this cycle? It's like watching a toxicity recycling plant in motion. It's quite fascinating tbh.

No the basement was designed to be blocked so killers can wait out borrowed time or stop a straggler. If you get caught in a corner and body blocked its your fault really. If a killer body blocks you the whole end game you should report it though.

That isn't at all what the basement was designed for. How in the Entity's ######### did you come to this conclusion? >.>

  • I main Trapper to the point I've made multiple personas for him with each of their own unique builds and playstyles. They even have their own costumes too :D

Trap God/Trap Devil: Enduring, Bamboozle, Spirit Fury, and Corrupt Intervention

    -All about power and pressure

The Butcher: Bamboozle, Infectious Fright, Insidious, and Spirit Fury

-More for being a scary Trapper. I've managed to jumpscare survivors by chasing them off a decently repaired gen, sit and wait at the gen with Insidious, and get a free gen grab. The post game chat reactions are priceless

Voorhees Trapper: Bamboozle, STBFL, Rancor, and Spirit Fury

-Just by the name, you can tell I just choose STBFL and Rancor to resemble what I think this character would have. He definitely gave me some great games and even was able to mori a poor David with Rancor and he was not very happy in the post game chat afterwards let me tell ya.

BuT nObOdY rUnS iT! i NeVeR sEe It! ItS oNlY 2 pEr MaTcH! What a strong argument. A completely bullshit perk is fine, cuz only a few people run it and extend chases/BM with it. A free uncounterable perk is totally fine. TOTALLY fine. Literally a stronger version of DS, but nah. It's gucci. It's a survivor perk, so it's fine.

MoM won't be nerfed fr a long time, it's currently selling the Ash dlc and let's be real Survivors are going to rage if someone they just bought got nerfed that quickly.

You don't need to rush it lad. It takes time to write these. It took me a month to properly write mine and even at that I changed 2 perks completely after I posted it.

The way I think of it is, would you run this killer? Would you be ok facing this? Is the ability different enough from the rest that it can't be compared like I said your one and huntress.

Either way I hope you have a good day mate. Really enjoyed your chapter and the pperks felt unique.

Thanks bud! I appreciate the feedback. It does take time to come up with these but I hate being stumped on something so I'll come up with a power for him in no time ^_^ I'm glad you liked the perks too. If you wouldn't mind, link me to your chapter idea that you hinted at above. I'd love to read yours as well ^_^

  • Man I forgot that even Last Year existed lol. I'll come up with something else in time. And yeah I do need to put in your suggestion.

  • @CashelP14 The power has been changed. What do ya think?

  • Man I wish I knew how to edit and make those presentations. That would be awesome. I like these ideas too. Although how does his power work specifically? Like does he hit a survivor and then he can charge up his spirit to hunt the survivor? And if so, do you control the Spirit or is it AI?

  • @CashelP14 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/449602#Comment_449602

It's not only the power is weak. It's just that the power isn't something new. It's like me adding a killer who's ability was to have 50% cooldown after downing a survivor. Your ability feels more like a perk.

All killers have a unique ability which can be really cool and different but yours is just getting bloodlust quicker. I dont mean this in a bad way honestly mate. I think the ability would need completely changed mate. If you change it tag me and I'll give you my review of the new ability.

Criticism could increase your health for every pallet drop? 10/15/20% per drop would be good. So if you pallet drop a killer 5 times you will go from injured to full health.

What's funny is that the Killer's power was originally a perk idea. So you are not wrong on that haha. Also that change to Criticism is actually a good idea. I think I'll change it to that version. Or maybe even make it so it recovers Exhaustion faster?

  • @CashelP14 said:

Personally I think his power is still weak. I just don't know how you sell a killer by saying "They get bloodlust quicker".

Fresh Meat is a good perk, encourages you to find other survivors. Really good idea.

Clean Cut is a good perk for healing builds. Might work well with doctor.

Dead and Dash should be edited to say basic attacks instead of any attacks. Again not a bad perk.

Criticism is extremely weak. I pallet stun the killer 3 times just to have 25% increase for 45 seconds. Just run botany knowledge.

Acquired Taste is ok. It would be good against killers camping totems. It can be good in certain builds.

Shut In is another good perk. Think the distance is a bit too much. Shouldn't be anymore than 8 or 12m.

Really good perks idea but I think you need to think of a different ability.

Thank you for the feedback! If you have any ideas on how to fix up Criticism please don't be afraid to put in some ideas. Also on the power, I feel getting up to tier 2 Bloodlust with only 6 seconds compared to the normal 12 seconds for the 1st tier is a decent power. But then again, with the 'must be injured' requirement, it might prove to be a tad underwhelming. Any ideas is always appreciated ^_^

  • Trapper man. Nothing more satisfying than trapping 1 surv after another in rapid succession mid match. 10/10 broken surv ankles :P

  • @Hoodied said:

Killer's power is not that strong

I buffed it up a little. Check it out ^_^

  • LF is a freakin genius. I knew it >.>

  • @Poweas said:

    Movespeed, no. Debuff, sure.

    I agree with this^

  • I'm a Trapper main and I don't hate Fengs. Their cries fuel me. Even when they break my ears :P

  • Trapper could use a buff or two but I disagree with some of the changes you proposed. Like for the first change you presented, I've once proposed that disarming traps have to have a skillcheck completed or else the survivor gets injured which would also compliment Trapper's base perk Unnerving Presence.

I also don't think that his terror radius needs to be adjusted. Placing traps effectively all depends on timing and routing. For example. Sometimes it's best to get that first swing on the survivor and watch where they run and then once they're out of sight, place a trap somewhere on the route they've chosen to take to run from you. That Trap will more than likely get them if they chose to run that route again.

The locker idea is actually one that I am uncertain if I agree or not. It would help with collecting traps but the part I know that I don't like for a fact is the automatic recollecting of earlier traps placed since I've had that first trap I placed at the start be the last trap to finish the match time and time again.

I do agree with the traps being wider. Especially since they used to be wider until the devs 'accidentally' made them smaller.

The last one that I disagree with is the 12 second lock-in for being trapped. 12 seconds is a huge chunk of time when every moment counts. The one thing I'd change is to make sure that the survivor couldn't get out on their first attempt but to what extent I can't say.

It's nice to see people addressing the imbalance that hurts the OG and face of the game Killer. Especially when he's my main on top of that too. You have some interesting ideas here though. Keep it up.

  • Survs have always been toxic and lack sportsmanship. The way I've come to handle it is not to give a ######### about something some kid on the internet says. The way I respond is with the most 'lack-of-caring' lines like, 'Sounds good' or 'Good idea ^_^' and then follow up with a 'Take care and have a good night'. It's just something you have to not let bother you. Especially when pack mentality comes into play, it's just not something to worry about since it's usually a 4v1 in not just the game, but post game chat too
