Will the vault always take priority in that case?

Just had a match where I came across the hatch in the killer shack. I was being chased, went to jump into the hatch and instead vaulted over the window and got myself killed lmao. It made me veer and was quite odd.

Was this just my own fault or is that a thing that regularly happens?

always just make sure you stand on top of the hatch even if he downs you you can still jump in. Also it is a small issue with lockers being to close to windows as well hit space to early well you're going into that locker bud gg that chase

Imo flashlights are easy to counter. As you said yourself the perk Lightborn exists just for this reason. Franklin's Demise also works. Alternatively you have the strategy of picking someone up facing a wall, pretending to pick up, or the hardest of them all, looking up.

When I see a 4 man Squadette with flashlights I jump for joy. Can't save your friends vs a slugging doc can you? It's so much nicer than a team that share three braincells and know how to hold m1.

There are plenty of ways to counter flashlights and limiting them not only decreases build creativity because you can't bring multiple of the same items, and just worldnt work (in solo q, say, you brought a flashlight but so did someone else, so who has to switch? Or you find a beamer in a chest but someone else has one in the match, does it just get thanosed into thin air?).

Flashlights are fine and much better than medkits, keys or toolboxes.

agreed i rather have 4 flashlights than 4 of the other items xD, they're so easy to bait people with, maybe long ago 4 flashlights was ######### scary because how insane they were but not these days. those people also tend to waste so much time trying to go for flashlight saves or run around clicky clicky trying to get the killer's attention also doing nothing productive

This. Let the devs decide if they plan tot make a trans person. They shouldnt force it in the Lore, because this way they would care more about the sexuallity of the survivor instead to the real Lore.

Sexuallity shouldnt matter in a horror game.

theres so many ######### posts about this #########, and they're all stuipidly pointless other than feeding someone's fantasy like god damn dude, its a game about killing people why does it matter if they're ######### gay or not like it doesn't matter it doesn't add to actual gameplay

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/159181/increase-face-camping-bps-penalty

Tbh when i face camp its only because i want to piss off survivor and see the chat after its always a good laugh. The other time i will camp is because i see a survivor close of the struggling phase so i camp him until he enter the struggling phase i do the same if they are close to die so i dont know why i should be punish for making sure the survivor die or enter the struggling phase

i mean rank means nothing anyway. and if the surv is about to go into 2nd or die, then you shouldn't care if you ate a small bp lost obviously if you're losing more than you're camping way more than just a few seconds, and if you're using camping to piss someone off you ususally don't care about the entire match anyway, i do it when someone runs OoO i could give to shits less if i got 0 bps for the entire match to prove the point i hate that perk.

I spent the whole week playing perkless on solo queue and having fun on most of my games. Then comes saturday night and all I face is Stridor Spirits, Freddies, Iridescent head Huntress and Mories not to mention the queue times. Have a good night guys.

perkless is fun and all but the fact of the matter is everyone else is running perks so you're just handicaping yourself even more when you run into these killers. I would love to see a mode where no perks no add ons no offerings and no items are allowed for both sides and see how things go when you don't have crutches to rely on

The problem with that is there's not enough ranks 20-13 to do that, the reason for the long queue times has nothing to do with rank you could be a rank 20 or a rank 1 as long as there's more survivors than there are killers the lobby times are going to be forever. What they need to do is make a new lobby system like Friday the 13th has, because there's too many swfs and not enough solo queuers. I've played killer and I've played survivor, and until the devs do something about the toxicity in this game you're never going have people willing to play killer that aren't as toxic as the survivors are, when the solve that problem I think you'll see more people play killer because it's not fun to a match and you're a rank 20 and you're matched against 4 rank 1s that destroy you. In a way I think a skill based system will be good but it won't solve the rampant toxic behavior the devs allow

swfs kinda have just ruin this game in a way, turned playing with your friends into lets create a nightmare for the killer just for the fun of it

    • Not breaking pallet that has item below (due to FD)

All of this is very toxic yet fun but I believe it is not banable even when receive numerous threats in the after chat

as much as i hate facecamping and how bad of strategy it is, i feel you honestly need some mental help if you get pleasure out of this, thats all really sadistic nature, yes its fun to be toxic but if you do this all the time everytime and get joy out of it then you honestly need some help. Well in your ranks I will admit it can be harder to pip because of how your teammates and the killer plays. If the killer is bad and hooks/hits nobody, that's no altruism. If they camp and tunnel you, then that's a bunch of nothing for you (depending on how quickly you go down). And so on. Normally in lower ranks there isn't enough of everything for you to pip easily. It just takes more play time honestly. Run a killer for boldness/do totems, unhook and heal your teammates, do like 2 gens, and escape. You get survival points for running and escaping the killer too so if you go down really quickly you get wrecked in survival emblem.

So overall, just play more and do a bit of everything.

Whoops at'ed the wrong person lol.

? i have no trouble pipping im talking to the other guy. its not hard to pip at all for me so idk why people struggle with it so much and why theres so many potatos at red ranks i constantly maintain rank 1 on killer and surv, wrong person me thinks?

Lol, that would be fun and funny. Rampaging around the map, one punching survivors, so that they’re flung far through the air, instantly landing on a hook 🤣🤣🤣

not gonna lie it would be funny as ######### maybe for an event they could do something like that, but as just a normal killer hes way to damn big and his power is literally throwing ######### around xD

  • tbh the witch would be only infected viable for being a killer, the rest are extremely mindless zombies and wouldn't work that well in the game or the lore. They could add more survivors from l4d to the game but other than nothing viable

  • @[Deleted User] said:

If you're a stealth killer you're in good shape against OoO. If you're a mobile killer, you're also in good shape. If you have a mori or Devour with a good totem spawn you're in good shape too. If you're a slow killer who can already struggle to find survivors, like Huntress, it could be a rough game.

That said, I find that people running OoO are usually pretty trash. They t-bag for a bit and try to bait you instead of doing gens, then go down quickly when you chase them. The only annoying bit is they 100% have DS, since they very likely have all of Laurie's perks unlocked if they have OoO.

don't forget unbreakable and bt swat :)

I'm just curious on if this is even in the works still or if it is coming anytime soon. So a while back, the devs had a livestream (maybe a Q&A or a dev update stream) where they mentioned they were working on Hillbilly & Leatherface changes. I know these changes were going to mostly focus on reworking/updating their add-ons, with a potential of revisiting their powers to maybe make some minor reworks/QoL improvements. But I haven't heard or seen anything about this in a while. I know that they are looking into Clown a bit next from what they said in a more recent stream, but this Hillbilly/Leatherface change announcement was made a while ago. Like I'm fairly certain it was before Doctor & Nurse received their reworks, relatively around the time their reworks were first announced as well. I couldn't find the exact livestream where they mentioned this, but I know they did mention it at some point a while back.

you realize the devs said that last year and the year before that right? lol they take forever when it comes to anything. And even worse theres a bug with both of them that sometimes makes it so the chainsaw doesn't insta down them as if you were running speed limiter, doesn't happen often but i had it happen 3 times in the last 3 days on billy and someone from that game said they had that happen to them on leatherface the same day

  • like how everyone just throws the game as well lol, really shows how much killers hate going against object especially when its a swf, but the devs won't rework the ######### perk for some dumbass reason

  • @Kamikazi said:

If you increased Face Camping bp penalty so drastically that they wouldn't get any bloodpoints for the sacrifice nor the down, perhaps it would force the face camping killers to play the game instead of holding that one survivor hostage. Show it as a status effect that they are considered Face Camping or even just Camping. (Face Camping for if they are staring at the survivor for 3 seconds straight, give them a 3 second Face Camping penalty/status effect.) (Camping if they are standing still for 5 seconds near a hook, give them an additional 5 second penalty.) Patrolling should be allowed as part of the game, which could be considered as constant movement especially when there is a free survivor in the area. (Maybe when detected as Patrolling [, an accepted method of game play, ] give the killer a status effect of patrolling which prevents my suggested Face Camping status effect from occurring for 2 seconds.) Seriously, if the killer is moving even a little, it could allow for survivor team play to rescue the hooked player. If nothing else, it could even encourage a heroic effort or cause a disastrous survivor loss. I play killers as my main, and after playing as survivor against some toxic face camping killers, I feel this idea may work. One counter to this could be to allow that if the killer is using the Insidious Perk, or a perk to cause their character to have no terror radius or reduce their terror radius to effectively zero (0), that there is no Camping nor Face Camping Penalty. (Indicating that it is fair game play when you have no terror radius.) (Or that there is no penalty if no survivor at all is within the killer's terror radius, but this might get messy with some perks which shift the terror radius to a survivor.)

Of course, if there is a survivor near the area then there should be no sort of penalty.

Also give a penalty to survivors who intentionally unhook a survivor in front of the killer (on the intention to farm points off the hooked survivor with the killer). This might be done by detecting if the player unhooking does not have a perk to help the unhooked survivor or not. A fair way to penalize farming blood points would be to not give the survivor any blood points for the unhook nor actions for the next 7 seconds. Idk if its fair to notify the offending survivor they were detected as farming at someone else's expense, but it could come up as a status effect which gets multiplied the more times they farm at someone else's expense. If a farmer is notified, they may just try to wait out the penalty, in which case they should get a severe time multiplier per farming action detected. (7 seconds times 7 seconds is 49 seconds. 7*7*7=343 seconds. 7*7*7*7=2401 seconds.) During this timed penalty, they shouldn't be able to earn any blood points, even into the next game. It should probably be capped at 2400 seconds, which is 40 minutes. (The reason for this severity is to stop farming at other's expense, and give that player a lasting penalty, but also to remove the penalty soon enough that they don't just sand bag every game they get into. But to remind them to not sand bag others.)

It seems to me that most Face Camping killers are between ranks 8-12, but I've come across just a few in their red ranks. I think red ranked survivors start to punish Face Campers, which Face Campers take as toxic game play and they face camp harder, which causes a toxic feed back loop on the mindset which the killer cant break out of. Which is why I make these suggestions, to help a killer realize when they are face camping its no fun, especially for newer players.

why i don't agree with face camping(except OoO players i could give 2 shits what anything thinks if you run that ######### im camping your ass first hook) untill the fix the pace of the game to where hard tunneling/camping doesn't feel necessary against some teams your average player is still going to do it. Idk why behavior added a penalty to the pip system for facecamping anyway, literally noone gives a ######### about their rank because its means nothing in the current game, theres no reward for being high rank anyway so who gives a #########. BP penalty -500 bps per 10 seconds would sure as hell stop alot of facecampers, but the game doesn't need it right now because the pace of the game is so random as ######### games can go anywhere from less than 5 mins to over 20 mins, until a fix estimated time is in place that shouldn't mess with anything to do with camping and tunneling

    do survivors get negative score?

I haven't seen it... have you?

they do but only in the chase department, won chases/lost chases. but killers only get negative score for 2 things losing a surv on your shoulder and camping a hook, theres not really alot of negative point gain in the current rank system

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1350035#Comment_1350035

Hate to disagree, but i disagree. You're probably someone who plays doctor a lot, as you have a killer as your pfp, so of course you see no flaws. Think about this though: How many matches have survivors won against the times you've played doc compared to how many matches they've lost. The odds are already against survivors, obviously, but I'd like to see the ratio for doc. Play against a doctor that uses ruin, bbq&chili, and nurse's calling and then you can have a valid opinion

    @Ashx said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1350052#Comment_1350052

Well that's the whole point of my other comment. "It astounds me that if they lose a survivor who is keen enough to be able to outrun and outsmart a killer, all the doctor has to do is just electrify the area. And people who aren't even a part of the fight, but are unfortunate enough to be close to it, are effected." So you can easily loop and lose a killer, but it's difficult to run away before he zaps everything just to find you again. Think about this: How many times have you escaped a killer by losing them behind a rock/ barrier of some sort near them? It's extremely easy to lose a killer if you turn corners quick enough, but it's difficult to run away.

Doctor isn't even the strongest killer in the game, Nurse and spirit are way way better than doctor in the chases and moving around the map. A high skill billy is way way better than doctor, A high skill Oni is probably on par with a high skilled doctor. Doctor is strong but so are other killers, His gimmick is tracking just like how billy's is high movement and insta downs, just how spirit and nurse can basically ignore all things about looping. Doctor doesn't have high mobility, while he does have very good tracking and decent chase potential hes for sure not the hardest killer to go against. Im sorry you can't play blendette and sit in a bush like with other killers get over it. Learn how to counter doctor, drop pallets early if hes good would landing shocks, theres more than enough pallets on most maps to waste the killers time for 5 gens also lockers counter his shock blast, so does clam spirit unless he had the add-on that reads auras when you tier up

I've had a hard time as a solo survivor since rank reset... Only getting high ranked sweaty killers and horrible teammates. They don't e v e n try. They just all d i e.

Getting max 1 gen per game done and killers be like tunneltime. Every Killer brings pop and ruin. Everyone selfcares until there's nothing left to care for. Ugh. No, this therad doesn't serve a higher purpose.

    Just needed to vent 😭

idk why people even give a ######### about their rank, its all meaningless anyway, theres no reward, theres no real difference in teams majority of the time atleast purple to red, its not hard to get to red ranks, only rank that matters these days are rank 15-20 because those are usually obvious new players and it atleast that rank represents that unlike the rest

Problably a stupid question but is it reportable offense if a killer kills a survivor who is AFK during a match?

    Situation.

Playing as the Pig. Couple minutes into the match i find a survivor afk with crows. I down them, put at trap on there head and hook them. Their trap gets activated, they come back at some point and die from the teap. They message after reporting me with the game evidence for gameplay abuse. My argument is that they were not ready to play even after they found and loaded into the match and i couldn't control the survivors doing the gens that activated their trap before they got back to find themselves in there situation.

if they're gone long enough to get crows i hook them if i find them without crows i just slug them, and that guy is really ######### stupid if he think the killer killing them is reportable xD thats a typical entitled surv main in a nut shell right there

And having Survivors who clearly don't belong in the red ranks... ruining games for both sides?

Maybe not to such an extreme but still...

also read my next comment... so you don't get confused as to how I'd do it... go on I'll wait for a response

ranking up was never difficult in this game even with the old rank system, it was just with the old one people would derank and kill the experience for newer players, that system might work the one you just posted but it really depends on how easier/hard is it to progress from one rank to the next, the current pip system based on emblems is a terrible way to do it, there needs to more than just what is currently there.

Honestly its probably better to do away with the rank system entirely and just put in a system for newer players that only matches with them with other newer player until a certain lvl, as another issue with the rank system is finding games the higher you go up the longer queue times get and noone really wants long ass queue times

  • @RaSavage42 said:

thats almost the issue i had with ds, i feel like if you're going to blatantly do a gen in front of the killer cause you have ds then that ######### should expire, thats the problem with alot of these 2nd chance perks, you can do more than it leads on about the perk. BT block the killer from the guy who unhooked you, unbreakable same ######### get downed while unhooking other guy taunts the killer with bt and runs off leaving the guy on the ground to freely get up. theres to much toxicity around these perks and they really need more conditions to them. that or limit them to not being able to be all used together no reason all 3 of those perks should be allowed in your kit

Other than that , farming no for prestige is annoying as heck but efforts are payed , sometimes. (Even though it does nothing except give a bloody clothing)

idk rank 1 isn't hard to get to for me on both surv and killer, thats why i care little about rank in this game because it means almost nothing, theres plenty of potatos in red ranks that don't belong there, just how there use to be tons of good players in lower ranks there to just bully the killer before the rank changes

oh it does punish alot of killers pretty badly, especially on chases if the object player is just feeding the guy whos being chase of what the killer is doing, it effects most killers poorly since it gives alot info the survs really don't need to have, hey the killer is heading this way everyone go hide or get near a god loop

  • Sometimes? sometimes the game is very unfun or gets boring if you play to much due to the nature of the some repetitive game play mechanics. Right now i enjoy it off and on but with some things being poorly balance theres times where i just get fed up and stop playing for months

If killrushing is pathetic, then genrushing is pathetic too. It serves no other purpose than to make the life of the other side as miserable as possible.

But no, survivor-mains say its just "doing the objective optimally".

So by your own definition, a slugging camping tunnelling killer is also just "doing their objective".

    Pathetic.

exactly lol, we're doing our objective its not gen rushing. Ok im trying to kill all of you thats my objective and im going to take the route that is best for getting you out of the game

  • object of obsession just needs to be removed from the game, and for sure not work if you're not the obsession, really hate how this perk got buffed when they changed how obsession works when ds got changed, Its very poorly design and feeds survs way to much info especially against trap killers

Yea, at a movement rate of 3.68 meters per second needing to crouch whenever you're within 40 meters of someone can eat a lotta time.

Honestly, even M&A + Tier 3 Whispers for being sneaky is a bit of waste IMO; just because of how many people can counter you with Sprint Burst or Spine Chill.

honestly spine chill shouldn't work while in undetectable statue, like.. you're suppose to be undetectable..why does this perk still work?

Good points, but tell me, do you think a 4 man swf with OoO disarming every trap around you without punishment is ok? Survivors shouldn't be able to watch your aura at all times whilst you are placing traps. That counter is absolutely too strong and needs some risk to disarming the trap.

again the perk just needs to go, its unhealthy no reason to punish people for disarming traps that are poorly placed, can't just build a character around just 4man swfs with OoO,

what do you mean makes him annoying, hes already annoying and boring to play against, atleast this would make him an actual threat with his power, Currently hit surv and runs away to another, oh no i been hit... now i mend, why heal? just rush gens not like he can down with his power anyway... very fun gameplay

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1349434#Comment_1349434

Starting with 2 traps would be nice, but it doesn't fix him as a killer, as he can still be rendered useless by a 4 man swf with object of obsession.

i mean alot of killers can be rendered useless against a 4 man with object, its a very bad perk to have in game because it can feed info to more than just the one person if they're on comms, but i have beaten 4mans without object with trapper

  • @MusicNerd_TC said:

Greetings! I love trapper, he is always going to be one of my mains, he is very satisfying 5o play. However, he is the most hit or miss killer in the game. He can only win when survivors make mistakes and can be easily countered. First of all OoO shouldn't work on him as it renders his power useless if a swf has comms. Traps can also get disarmed too easily so I think the bloody cool add-on should be part of his base kit, to punish survivors for disarming traps more. As for the add-on, change it so that if a survivor disarms the trap they are afflicted with the mangled and broken status effects. I also suggest a new add-on. It is ultra rare, basically what it does is, wherever you place your trap, it blends in with whatever color the ground is that you placed it on. I also think the trapper should start with at least 4 traps for setup as one of his biggest weaknesses is having to go around the map to pick up traps. I think this can help my trappy friend quite a bit and make him more viable at the red and purple ranks. What are your thoughts?

trapper mainly just need to have a base starting of atleast 2 addition traps in hand, maybe make the darking yellow add-on base and for sure either move all his traps to lockers to refill with a max set of how many are allowed to be placed at one time ( older ones will despawn if you go over limit) Or just move all his traps to the center of the map. The biggest issue is how much time he wastes getting and picking up his traps around the map. Otherwise trapper is mainly fine, people just play him entirely wrong, you're not a killer whos suppose to roam around the entire map chasing survs, you set up an area around 3-4 gens you want to protect and keep that area trapped, it makes a major difference, i play trapper plenty at higher ranks and easily 3-4k every game. The only other problem i can think of is that fact there are 2 perks that hard counter trapper that survs can use, one being object(which is honestly just a toxic perk and needs to go) and small game which very few people use these days since it only is good against trapper and finding totems

I understand that is frustrating for you when it happens.. But its part of the game, if the killer chooses to play like so he is free to do it since the game allows it. You should try some anti-slugging perks like unbreakable and everytime you see a downed survivor and the killer focusing on someone else you should try to prioritize healing the downed survivor to avoid the situation where 3 survivors are down and the last one being chased.

There are also alot of other pathethic methods that killer will use in order to win like Hook Camping and Tunneling one survivor untill he dies.

In my opinion you should try to play as much SWF as possible. Games will get alot easier for you and your chances for survival will increase drastically if you can communicate with your team.

Also try using the "meta" perks for survivors which are considered "OP" by alot of crybaby killers. Those perks are meta perks for a reason and everyone uses them not because they are OP but because it counters most of those pathethic/annoying methods that killer use in games.

    Here are some examples:

    Anti-slugging: Unbreakable

    Anti-hook camping: Borrowed time

    Anti-tunneling: Decisive Strike

Also keep calm and dont get to frustrated with all this stuff.. A killer has to play 1v4 and sometimes thats too much pressure for some guys to handle. The best way to counter them is to find ways to be more frustrating to them than they are to you; So use everything at your disposal to do so.

Hope this helped you and good luck in your next games!

Pathetic methods? no they're strong methods atleast slugging is to create pressure, its very much worth slugging on certain killers to create mass pressure, and in some games, you have to tunnel depending on the killer just to get someone out of the game. Its very much part of the game. The fact you label it as pathetic methods states you don't either play killer much or don't play killer against good teams of survs. So yes keep encouraging the combo of busted 2nd chance perks its really fun game play

  • hey some people don't know about checking files you'd be surprised lol

Thats just my opinion dude. Feel free to disagree but let me tell you:

When I struggled with killer at rank 10 and couldn't get any further.. Thats when I bought doctor and I just FLEW to rank 1 like it was nothing. I played him without perks or addons at first because I didnt have enough BPs and I got the EASIEST 4ks in my life with him. Games usually ended in 10 minutes and in worst case scenarios against SWFs or really good survivors I would get Safety Pip.

I can play doctor with only one hand and still kill someone

doctor is for sure not easier than some other killers, i rather face a doctor than a spirit any day

Depends on the skill level of the killer tbh.

    For me:

Strongest no-skill required killers: Doctor, Freddy ; Really strong on most maps, can easily get 4k, very boring gameplay

Strongest killers that require skill: Nurse, Huntress ; These are the best killers if played by one who masters them. Harder to learn but much more satisfying gameplay

you're kidding right? against good teams doctor for sure requires alot of skill if you're not sitting there using busted add-ons,

Do you hold a grudge against me? You keep replying to my posts for some reason, wherever I go. And I still don't think map offerings can be as ######### ever,as a mori. Moris are consistent nonetheless of the killer or the map, while not all maps are the same level of "Unfairness" for the killer. Moris allow you to take a shortcut in the whole game by 2/3s. They allow you to skip 8 hooks. What do maps do? Even if you got coldwind, you as a killer with a mori can still mori the person the same.

look man all i said map offering are just as bullshit if not comparable to moris sure moris are stronger but to a player who doesn't use moris often and only with reason to be constantly sent to ######### map by swfs is pretty annoying

Doctor is objectively the best Killer in the game because of his laugh. Here, listen to it. It's amazing, isn't it?
