    What happend?

Trying to figure out how to embed a youtube video into the post.

  • Resident Doctor Main here,

I've played PH a fair amount, but I haven't prestiged him yet or anything. I like to run Forced Penance, Enduring, BBQ, and PGTW/Overdrive, though. I've gotten survivors stepping in torment a few times, and as a survivor, I've stepped in torment a fair amount. It usually comes down to not seeing the trenches or just running around. Sincerely,

    Resident Doctor Main

"Wait, this guy plays other killers?"

  • Resident Doctor Main here,

Honestly I think it's a crap shoot. I fear for a killer bot specifically, since it'll either always know where the survivors are, or only patrol gens/camp/tunnel. I personally feel that the main thing about DbD that's enticing (at least to me) is the human aspect. Sincerely,

    Resident Doctor Main

I don't have any postscript or joke to put here this time. sorry.

  • Sam from Trick 'r Treat would be cool.

  • Resident Doctor Main here,

They're broken af. Love 'em for it though. Sincerely,

    Resident Doctor Main

In all honesty though they should really fix them

meanwhile the german translation went and created a whole new male form:

'Entitus' (I checked a couple of dictionaries and couldn't find it.)

  • Mikey's never really killed kids in his series, iirc. Just a thing about him, I guess.

  • Resident Doctor Main here,

People almost always use noed at low ranks since it's a set of training wheels, per-say. Just, always clean those dull totems since they already give you 1K BP. Sincerely,

    Resident Doctor Main

Gen Rushing is annoying, but a viable strategy.

  • @VolantConch1719 said:

    Yes and no.

It mostly has to do with the French language that most of the devs speak. In it, nouns are designated a gender, and the Entity is given a female designation, and the devs have used feminine pronouns in the past as well.

At the same time, however, the Entity is a cosmic horror that could easily be beyond the concept of gender (given that it suffers from a blight every now and then, it also seems plant-like, and genders in plants are VERY rare).

So it really depends on your point of view. One thing is pretty clear though, NOTHING points to the Entity being male.

Resident French speaking Doctor Main here,

Basically this is correct. Unless the devs used the nous/ons version of the nouns, since those are gender neutral. Sincerely,

    Resident Doctor Main

I don't have the budget for Italics to be used twice in a post.

    The question is the title.

    I am a killer main.

With my main character, I use:

    -Discordance

    -Iron Maiden

    -Stridor

    -Mad Grit

Discordance I use, to get a idea where survivors running around, Stridor I use to compensate soundbugs (hopefully), I sometimes have as killer.

Iron Maiden and Mad Grit are for me "anti bully perks". Iron Maiden makes it nearly impossible for survivors to take a game hostage, since for whatever reason, the 2-3 survivors who tryd this by me had always use lockers for it and Mad Grit takes this bodyblocking annoyances out of the game for me, in the moments were it would annoy me most.

Now, it is your time, readers: Which are your favorite perks and why?

    Resident Doctor Main here,

My main perk build is Overcharge, Enduring, Deerstalker, and Thrilling Tremors. I've found that it gives me more map pressure. Sincerely,

  • @vector said:

for me killer is way harderer to play in terms of moral

when you play killer survs tbag you at any pallet or window, they accuse you after game if they dislike something, they alltogether write "ez" if they succeeded in escaping or somehow outplayed you, they whine if they lose, they prolong game by staying at the gates and tbaging.

i mostly play killer but recently i played surv and you know what? I feel relief

I dont feel this insane pressure as when i play killer counting each second because any wrong decision (walking to the wrong gen for 5-10 sec) means complited gens Getting a flashlight after a difficult chase just an amazing feeling almost as good as in a bunch of bodies picking up surv with "antitunneling perk"

As killer you always 1 vs 4 in chat dont you dare for a moment broke any of uwritten rules imposed on killer (camping someone or following him after unhook) they will tear you apart

    Resident Doctor Main here,

Obviously I main killer, but it is hard for sure at higher ranks. Mainly with all the SWFs and DS/Unbreakable combos. I've played as survivor before and it's way easier for the most part. Sincerely,

Killer is MEANT to get that info. It was designed that way intentionally, that all the info belongs to the killer, not survivors. Take away that info and you take away part of the power in a game that already favors survivors at the top levels.

    Ditto.

Totems give 1,000 BP in 14 seconds (1,500 BP if it's a hex). Generators give 1250 (without skill checks) in 80 seconds. I don't know why you think totem BP is crap.

    Resident Doctor Main here,

That guy has a Gateau, so um... That's a 40% bonus for everybody. Just saying. Sincerely,

  • Resident Doctor Main here to clear any confusion,

Sony is really cagey about games allowing Cross-Progression. It took a while for them to even accept the new Call of Duty having it this year. It seems as if Microsoft is okay with it though, since Cross-Progression is on Windows Store for DbD. Hopefully it'll be on Xbox soon. Sincerely,

Well, if you communicate constantly with your team, dead hard will be best as you can ask where your team8s are, and lead the killer away from them and do more distance, if that is not the case I recommend more "BOND".

    Resident Doctor Main here,

That's mainly advice for SWF. Solo Queue Dead Hard isn't really that good an idea. Plus if you have Tier 3 Bond, you can maneuver your way outside the range of the other survivors. Sincerely,

It’s not possible at the moment and may never be for Xbox.

BHVR works on a cross Progression system where progress is saved in an external account, but it is only planned for Steam, Windows Store, Switch and Stadia. They try to also bring it to Xbox and PS 4

    Resident Doctor Main here,

If it's on the Windows Store, there might still be hope for XProgression on Xbox, since they're both handled by Microsoft. Sony has been notoriously bad with allowing Xprogression on their consoles, however. Sincerely,

The map selection shouldn’t be random. The map should always be the home map of the killer, for example if you play as the Spirit or the Oni you get send to the Yamaoka estate except if an offering is being used.

I know this might sound boring for the killer at first but it’s also a great way for them to get more knowledge about the maps and maybe the maps could even be balanced around the killers power. It just always feels very wrong to me seeing killers like the plague in the laboratory. The atmosphere also gets scarier if the map and the killer match.

This would also reduce the chance to be send to the same map all the time if you play survivor. Killers who don’t have a personal map like the Cannibal or Ghostface could still get random maps like they do now.

    What do you think?

    Resident Doctor Main here,

It's a good idea, but I don't want to have to bring a map offering instead of a Gateau every time I play as a killer that isn't Doc. Sincerely,

    Resident Doctor Main

  • Resident Doctor Main here,

Usually when I play, 2 kills are the minimum I try to get, either for challenges or whatnot. 4Ks are always what we killer mains strive for of course. Sinerely,

Saw the usual "genrush" comments & discussions pass by, and i thought it'd be a good idea to ask.

The short version: How mandatory is it to equip one or multiple slowdown Perk(s) on your Killer?

The long(er) version: It happens quite regularly on here for people to share how fast matches can go.

So i'd like for you to imagine your favorite Killer to play as, and then tell us if you use slowdown Perks, how many you use if any, and tell us which those are if any.

Also, if you don't use them on your favorite Killer, please do tell us why.

Older players might remember how good Brutal Strength was back in the day on Killers who weren't Nurse.

While it wasn't mandatory, it was unusual to see a Killer not use it due to the sheer time you scrape from breaking Pallets.

If you currently feel that way about a slowdown Perk, that's when you should mention it here.

    Resident Doctor Main here,

I like to use Overcharge mixed with Thrilling Tremors to give me some extra map pressure. It usually gives me at least a single kill. Sincerely,

I made a thread talking about THIS exact issue and everybody thought I was saying killer shouldn't be locked. Quick switching as a survivor literally should not be in the game. Killer should be locked and so should survivor.

I absolutely agree. A Nea with no item quick switching to a Feng with a key right before the 5 second ready lock shouldn't be allowed like, ever.

  • I mean, it is one of Jake's Teachables. Just rank him up a bit, since he IS one of the free survivors.

I think its strange people are upset by this. The only thing thats changing is you have to pick your killer prior to searching for a match. It seems like you can still change perks.

My only recommendation to tge devs is to lock items for survivors while theyre at it, maybe 30 secs before match starts.

    Resident Doctor Main here,

I think 10-15 seconds before a match starts is a bit more fair for when a hypothetical add-on lockout would occur. Sincerely,

    Resident Doctor Main here,

Honestly playing as killer and patrolling the gens around the area where a hooked survivor is, I've also noticed this. I initially thought they were doing it because of so-called "campy" behavior, but there might be more to it. Sincerely,

So as we all know, Doc is pretty good on each maps, even on maps with 2 floors, I say we change that. Doc souldn't be able to shock survivor downstairs of The Game map when he is above, that's something that shouldn't be done. Remove the ability to Static Blast upstair when he's downstair and etc, would balance him out quite well and won't be as broken as he is now. Just my random thought on a change for him!

    Resident Doctor Main here,

Bruh, YES. I totally agree with this idea. The main thing though is that on The Game, you can't easily look straight up to see where a Survivor is. Just my opinion though. Sincerely,

  • Resident Doctor Main here,

I come from XB1, R1 survivor playing anything from solo to 4-man SWF, Rank 8 Killer. Every perk is unlocked and Level 3 on my survivor.

In all my games, solo to 4-man SWF, my build stays as Prove Thyself, DS, BT, and Bond. Prove Thyself due to gen speed nerfs (and to encourage team mates to help with gens), DS for tunneling killers, BT for camping killers, Bond for the assurance that my team is doing at least something productive. To be quite honest, I hardly see anyone using BT, and DS is still a 50/50 I find. Same with Iron Will, I see Self Care, UE, Sprint Burst, Dead Hard, Q&Q, Head On and Inner Strength more than I've been seeing Iron Will.

I wish I didn't have to run BT and DS, but here on Xbox, we run into camping and tunneling killers what seems like every other game, and really, it makes it impossible to even get a 2-man escape without those two perks. Half the time, the first guy chased is hooked within 0-3 gens, proxy camped hard, tunneled, then killed, then the next guy gets face camped when gens are finished, and then the killer more than likely has NOED for a 3rd or 4th kill. BT nor DS solves this issue either since they'll just run after that survivor for longer, it just buys us time to hopefully grab the killers attention and/or get a bit more gen progress done.

I'm just saying, if I could enjoy my time playing these games and didn't need BT/DS to actually have fun with friends, or even just enjoy the game by myself, then I wouldn't run them, but I find more often than not that my build NEEDS these perks to make the game playable. Is DS and BT disgusting with a SWF all running it? Absolutely. I'm the only one in my SWF that uses DS, but others want to follow because they can't have fun getting tunneled every game.

    Resident Doctor Main here,

This is the main reason I play as killer most of the time, as my name suggests. However, when I do play survivor, I usually use Dwight's 3 teachables and something like Spine Chill or BT. It really sucks that most of the killers on Xbox camp at any rank. Sincerely,

    Resident Doctor Main

Killers can't see survivors addons anyway, And toolboxes after last nerf without BNP isn't good except maybe for sabotaging.

SWF if all 4 are good and sweaty you're probably screwed anyway, no matter what items they bring.

That's basically what I was saying, albeit I added on the part about Toolboxes.

  • @MadLordJack said:

The problem is that it's only being implemented for killers. Quick switching has always been a problem, and now that the Devs have implemented a system that locks characters... It only locks the killers. Survivors can still quick switch to whatever broken item they want, on whatever broken skin they want, and not give killers any time to react. It just feels kind of unfair, especially when you add in the cheating software that lets survivors see what killer they are going against.

    Resident Doctor Main here,

That isn't entirely true. You can still change Add-Ons, Perks, and Offerings as a killer in a lobby still. Sincerely,

    Resident Doctor Main

  • Resident Doctor Main here,

Did you look in the video/display settings? I'd check there first if it's available. Sincerely,

    Resident Doctor Main

  • Resident Doctor Main here,

That's a kind of messed up thing to do if your SWF doesn't go as planned. basically a parting "screw you". Aside from that however, I'd report the guy for unsportsmanlike behavior and just continue playing. Sincerely,

    Resident Doctor Main

  • @Name_Unavailable said:

So we talking about fair? Then let Survivors see which killer they going to face and let them see his profile too. No? then stop crying for once.

I dont mind any survivors items expect maybe keys, Just change how they key works, then you don't need to lock survivors at lobby.

If you think any other survivors items are a problem then you are noob.

(Not doing the signature and all if I'm posting multiple times in a thread. seems kind of dumb)

I see where you're getting at, but if it's a SWF filled with Rank 1's and they have comms and purple toolboxes, you're already screwed. At least killers can change their perks and whatnot.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I don't 100% agree with this. Part of the survivors' power is to prepare for the match, and discuss a plan together before heading directly into a trial. "Hey guys, I'm bringing plunderer's and Ace in the hole, I'm gonna gift you items" = I don't equip an item and put on a coin offering for that other survivor, just as an example.

What I think should happen is that survivors get a brief period of time to prepare and discuss a game plan (75~90 seconds or so), and then they get locked in automatically or when they all hit "Ready", and then the killer gets a period of time to set up their load out in response to what they see the survivors have before they are automatically locked in or they click ready, and then the match starts as usual.

I think that would be the most fair way for both sides to go about it. Allows solos to talk and prepare, and gives killer a chance to respond and customize the killer. Some killers (especially Hag and Wraith) need to worry about some set ups and customize appropriately, because flash lights can be a big hindrance to them both, and keys in general can be a big hindrance to all killers, and if you see 4 toolboxes, you might want to consider a gen slowdown perk, or maybe using an Oak offering.

    Resident Doctor Main here,

I'm just saying, whenever I play survivor, it's always Solo Queue. It might be I don't have friends willing to play, or it might be that I play better when solo gen jockey-ing. Either way, Comms, at least in my opinion, aren't exactly fair in the larger scope of the game. imo, it just gives survivors easier reign to take all of the map pressure the killer has and throw it in the garbage with a person running DS and unbreakable, and another person running Self-Care and a perk to do gens faster. I get what you're saying though. Sincerely,

    Resident Doctor Main

I'm an experienced player on DBD on the Xbox One, and today the matchmaking has been absolutely dreadful. Only in the past half hour was I made aware that new matchmaking went live today. I've been duoing with a friend of mine who's also pretty experienced (we're both red rank every season, and I know the meme but this indicates we play consistently) and EVERY. SINGLE. GAME — the other two survivors have been ranks 18-20 who crouch in corners, walk everywhere, and go down to Legion's deep wounds due to not knowing what mending is. On top of that, the killers have been the same. I've not seen a single killer that's yellow rank or higher, and I've played for about 11 hours today (it's my day off work, okay?). The games have been absolutely miserable, mentally draining and literally unfun. I'm not asking for god teammates who can carry a match, just someone who knows all the perks and interactions in the game, knows all the killers and their powers, map layouts, and basic looping concepts. Is that so much to ask? I'd literally be GLAD to have someone as low as rank 10 in my match, and a common meme amongst my friends and I is that I always slag rank 10s and they say "rank 10s aren't that bad". Sorry for whining but I just hope this can serve as an omen for what's to come for all you PC players! You'll pretty much have no option but to go 4-man SWF if you don't want potatoes on your team.

    Resident Doctor Main here,

I'm an Xbox player as well, but a killer main (If my prescript and username didn't give it away already) so I kind of see where this is coming from. I don't personally like really short matches if the entire team is Rank 20 potatoes, but that's just a problem with solo queuing the way I see it. Hopefully they're able to tweak the MMR a bit better to detect SWF groups and put them into matches where the other survivors also have comms, but I highly doubt it'll be soon, if at all. Sincerely,

In Low Ranks, Killers immediately tunneling Survivors off hook is a legitimate issue that Decisive can help fix. At high ranks though, Borrowed Time is common and very few Killers hard camp.

At Rank 10, Decisive punishes campers and protects against bad teammates going for unsafe saves. It usually gets picked up by the Killer in the first maybe 15-20 seconds of the timer.

At Rank 1, Decisive prevents Killers from gaining momentum and forces them to slug. If they get stunned, it's usually at the 50-59 second marker or because the Survivor forces a pickup with the locker exploit (no, its not a tech).

Rework the perk.... again. Or just decrease the timer to from 60 seconds to 30-40 seconds. Then it will still punish hard tunneling, but it will be very hard to accidentally pickup Decisive if you're legitimately not tunneling and its just a fast paced game. Or if the Survivors are doing endgame mechanic abuse and getting everyone's Decisive activated so the Killer can't pickup

    Resident Doctor Main here,

In my opinion, higher ranks is seriously when DS gets really annoying, especially at Tier 3. It allows survivors to just do anything they want in front of the killer for 60 seconds, knowing they'll probably hit their skill check. I agree that it needs to be heavily reworked, but in a slightly different way. I personally think that the DS Timer should only be active for about 15-20 seconds after the survivor gets off the hook, so they can't get tunneled as easily. That's it really. Sincerely,

    Resident Doctor Main
