It's so dumb when people simply disconnect out of frustration from the match and leave the other survivors to struggle for the rest of the game.

I also play CS:GO, the first penalty for disconnecting from an official match is 30 minutes, the second one is 2 hours, the third one is 24 hours and the fourth one is 7 days.

I bet people would think twice before disconnecting from a match if they wouldn't be able to play again for the next 24 hours, or even 7 days.

5 minutes or no penalty at all isn't cutting it. If people get mad at the bans then the community wins, since we won't have to deal with those toxic players anymore.

I would still DC. There’s been a bunch of times I stopped playing for over a month. 7 days ain’t nothing

  • Because I be having fun doing it. That’s it. I play other game too tho

Eh. I try to treat real people with respect, whether that is in a game or not. Because I know that there are real people behind those avatars.

Anyway - I don't think this is going anywhere productive, so you do your thing. But don't try to rationalize or whatabout your way out of it - you know that you are being a massive jerk to deliberately upset other people.

If you can feel good about that then...yeah. Not much more to be said.

Eh. Last I'm going to say on this because I don't think you are going to change your mind here - but when you have to rationalize and defend something you are doing this much, chances are that you know you are not doing right.

Lol no. I just don’t take video game as serious I guess. I don’t know if you do but it seem like it. It’s only a game

Shrug. I don't know. Karma doesn't work like that. It doesn't wait for things to be convenient or get you in ways you don't mind.

It strikes when you least want it to - to basically force you to say to yourself 'well, I wish I hadn't done that now'.

I don’t regret doing things in a virtual world. Maybe in real life but I don’t treat people like they are a game character because well, that’s horrible to kill, steal, and all that in real life.

Not over a video game though. I played GTA Online for years now; killing, stealing, blowing people personal vehicles up, kept messing with someone till they left the lobby because they messed my cargo or something up and nothing happened to me bad for having fun on a game. Just in game when they either get revenge and turned the tables and kept killing me or got one of their friends to torture me, which I always found hilarious

Except that once other people are involved, it sort of is 'real life'.

And I don't think that other survivors are as accepting as you are. I know that I'd be pretty annoyed.

As long as I didn’t physically harm someone, I’m pretty sure there is no karma. Unless you’re talking about, I all of a sudden want to actually play and people keep DCing. Now I can see that being in game karma. But I’m pretty sure nothing bad is going to happen to me because of a video game. If it did happen that way, imagine how many bad things would happen because of karma all because I was killing people in GTA Online. I heard people get real mad on there when you kill them. I did it a few times but nothing happened bad to me in real life. Maybe some got a better playing on me and they kept killing me but that’s in game karma

I'm pretty damn sure DCing in the middle of the chase gives the Killer the idea that you gave up.

It probably does but I have fun when I do it. So I satisfied the killer while also have some fun in a match. Win/win I guess if they are satisfied

I only dc as killer normally and mostly near end of the game(yea I know pointless)and out of rage.

A set amount, but it's quite generous. And plus, BP - after a certain point in time - does not feel amazingly important. Like...it comes in and I spend it.

About the only thing that would annoy me is if I was running some top tier addons. But again, on my two main killers I'm already sort of flush with these (especially Mori's).

Again - the only people you are hurting are the other three survivors, who at least expect you to stick it out. It's just...bad, bad karma.

I'm a firm believer that, whatever you put out into the world comes back to you. And those other survivors aren't NPCs. They are real people who waited for a match and were hoping for a real one.

I believe in karma too but not in a video game. I believe in karma in real life. My DCing is “my” equivalent of the killer tunneling and camping. Some teammates may not be mad when someone DC. It may be more that get mad but I know not everyone gets mad. I understand when someone DC even if I don’t know the reason

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1622608#Comment_1622608

Well that's sort of a mean thing to do.

You aren't really bothering the killer. If people DC, I get a little jolt of schadenfreude that they feel that beaten. And hey, all I need to do is choose whether to be nice to the remaining three or not.

The people you are bothering are the other three survivors, who must now endure a bad game.

I understand but I feel no type of way when my teammate DC and I have to find a way to have fun in this game. Do the killer get full points when someone DC or a set amount?

The MMR will rank games based on your skill level with each killer. Right now it's just setting up matches based on your rank, which isn't a fair indication of skill.

Playing a killer you've never played with before against far more experienced players than yourself does not a fun match make. Like most people I'll wait until the MMR is back on before tackling Killer again.

Yeah, I’m officially done until MMR. I wish I knew how to program those things. I would help them out. Seem like they need it

  • @ClickyClicky said:

As survivor it will try to find you the lowest rank survivors to be matched with, starting at grey ranks. If it fails to find any it will slowly work its way up trying to find the most potato survivors it can.

As killer it will start by searching for survivors with 10,000 hours playtime, and then work its way down trying to find you the most optimal survivors possible

I’m gonna have to find a new online game until the MMR thing is back

I played Killer today and all I can say.Never ever on rank reset... so much sweat.

I forgot about rank reset too. It’s like I literally go in the game to die. I feel it’s a waste of my time to even try if when I’m trying it’s like the killer know every single move I’m going to make. I guess I’ll stop playing for awhile again and I like this game. I’m glad I got it when it was free because I wouldn’t pay for an online only game that have a horrible matchmaking system.

  • Wow. No wonder every match I was in, it was a super pro killer. Except for 1 match and he might of been real good too but he wasn’t really playing. Just running and walking around with me and my teammates. I knew something was off, as many matches I lost and never got into a fair set up

  • I was just about to say I got set up with a good match but the killer seemed like he was tryna lose the match on purpose

  • I really thought I was gonna start playing again because I haven’t even complaints about it. That’s the only reason I stopped playing. Great game, horrible matchmaking.

  • Thanks for the responses. I’ll check back in a week and see what going on. If it’s still crazy rainbow matches, I’ll wait another month or 2.

  • Wait, so this won’t get fixed. I’ve been holding on playing every once in awhile hoping for a fix. I guess I’m done with this game then. I miss playing with people around my rank and skill set. When it wasn’t like this, I would get some better ranked players but not this many times. I guess I can stop going crazy over who the next killer will be. I’ll still watch Pupper’s videos tho

  • I had a quick question to ask and didn’t think I would post or comment anything after my first post

There is a difference between taking a game hostage and delaying the game. A killer slugging someone to death isn't considered taking a game hostage because theres a timer. I mean sure, if the killer is slugging the last person just to piss them off I agree its a dick move. But theres situations where it could be the opposite, for example a survivor crawling to an area of the maps where the hooks are already used so the option of hooking them isn't an option without breaking off from the killer's grasp. Holding a game hostage would for example be a killer cornering all the survivors in the old thompson's house upstairs.

I don’t even think that would be taking the game hostage. Only because trapping one survivor, the others can still get the endgame to start by doing gens and opening the gate. I did see that, that action is reportable this. If I read this other discussion correctly.

Noed is the easiest thing to counter. every time i run it its gone after one down. So i stopped using it cause its kinda useless most of the time.

I don’t play killer but it really is easy to avoid. I know I avoid it the majority of my games. Bones is my thing to do.

  • I kind of like the surprise element of Noed. When I play, it mostly me breaking totems, which I don’t mind because I run Inner Strength and I try to get all the totems for myself.

Sometimes, I try to memorize where totems are and don’t always break them. I do that just in case noed is in play, I go back to the totems I remember and hope one of them end up being the hex. If I can’t remember and I know the killer is using it, I would go on a search as the killer is going to the exit gates. Also one of my teammates are always quick to open the gate, so if I do find noed; I can run straight pass the killer, take a hit and escape.

  • I don’t think it’s a nerf. I stopped using it but when I did, my main benefit was knowing the killer is coming my way. I would then Urban my way somewhere. I also didn’t think of what Desh said. It’s not a teachable perk. I don’t too much about a bunch of these perks but I’m learning them, so don’t mind me if I’m missing ideas of how the perk work.

  • @Accullla said:

I believe it's really dependant on your platform of choice, region, rank and also the role you prefer to play, but here's my experience playing the new patch on PS4, EU area.

I played about 7 survivor and 7 killer matches yesterday and the matchmaking felt more balanced - I don't know if i was just lucky or something got tweaked in the algorithm.

As killer (rank 1) i seemed to consistently get red rank lobbies - i think i only got 1 rainbow rank match, which was probably an SWF, so matches felt pretty fair, as in each game (aside from the rainbow lobby where the team fell apart really quickly) there were at least 2 people who were around my skill level and could run me around for a bit.

As survivor (rank 1) i got more red rank killers than I usually do, so again the matches felt more fair. Generally as survivor i get killers mostly between green and yellow ranks, but yesterday out of 7 matches I got 5 red rank killers and only 2 green/yellows

Obviously, I could have just gotten lucky yesteraday and my sample is pretty small, but my matches did feel more fair than normally

Thanks for your input. I’m about to play soon as I get done eating. When people suggested perks, I realized, I either don’t have the perks or the survivor and I really want to try out the build I use with the tweaks that people have given me.

  • He’s also playing survivor I think. Or he was the killer and the survivor sent the pic to him

  • I think Felix was joking and know it just a bug or glitch. I don’t know the difference but I think he was playing

  • I think what he Zait is saying is, “they cater to the killers. Do you want them to stop and start catering to survivors?”

  • Maybe this is the reason the killer caught me so easy but it also worked on a few. It’s a good build that need a lil tweaking. I’m trying each suggestion everyone said when I play again

    Poised to Iron Will.

What's the point of Quick and Quiet when they can still hear you everywhere you go?

I’ll try this too. I didn’t think about the killer hearing me

    Poised to Dance with Me

    Inner Strength to Decisive Strike

    I’ll try it

  • @ohheyitsbobcat said:

This is a pretty standard "where the hell did they go" build although I'd personally replace Poised with either Dance with Me or Detectives Hunch.

Poised is a bit too situational to be of much use in my opinion, especially in a build like this. I think poised would work better on a Sprint Burst gamer after finishing a gen or even in a chase so they can get out of an area quickly without leaving scratch marks.

Dance with me would get some guarantee use with Lithe and Quick and Quiet so when you vault, the killer if not careful will lose you completely and have no means to track you unless your injured.

You could also use Detectives Hunch so you can focus on objectives and not spend time looking for totems. Do one gen and you basically know where all the totems are if you ever need one throughout the match.

I’m going to try both. I’ll try Dance With Me first. Something is telling me I’m going to like the perk but I might get stuck on Detectives Hunch for a bunch of games.

Poised don’t always work how I try to use it. I’m sure I won’t miss it if I replace it with Dance With Me because like you said, I will get more use on that more than Poised. I never really read the description of each of those perks and I like what I read.

When in the hell are y’all gonna fix this dam matchmaking am going against rank 1-3 survivors when am rank 15 usually I don’t complain but this is some B.S. when I actually do go against people my rank the game is fun but then high ranks are just plain stupid.

I’ve learned to stop asking and wait. Every time I asked no one was rude or anything and they helped the best they can with an answer but I can do is wait for it. Sad but true. I still try to play once in a while tho

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1225152#Comment_1225152

I've discussed it with friends. It was mostly meant to spice up variety among builds and players who would stack things like DS, Adrenaline, DH, ETC. While I do think it wouldn't be bad on killer as well I do think it would hurt killer significantly more than survivors would be. So the overall capacity would more or less have to be doubled over what the size a survivor could have.

My idea was a P3 survivor would be able to slot 2 meta perks and have room for another 2 or maybe a 3ed meta perk, but a P0 would have room for 1 meta perk and another perk or 2 which is clear that they have invested time and gotten the points to do this with a difference in capacity.

If killer did this it would allow up to 3 or 4 meta perks anyways. If you give both sides the same capacity then in that way Killer would be significantly nerfed.

Than every month the average use of a perk would increase or decrease its points from the overall use over the course of a month. It would also mean that each perk needs a point cap so no matter what people are able to use it still.

Oh I think I see where you’re coming from

  • @Liruliniel said:

I've always wondered what would happen if survivors were given a capacity number which is increased by prestige. The number allows you to pick 4 perks. More common perks would have higher numbers while less common ones have smaller numbers. This would prevent stacking of massive meta perks.

What about Killers too or would you want this to only effect survivors? Just asking because Killers can prestige too.

  • @MojoTheFabulous said:

You'd think with how common NOED is right now people would counter it by breaking the totems.

For real tho and when I play, I play survivor mainly. I like noed as a survivor. Maybe because I actually like to “do bones”🤣🤣 ion know. I’m not even that good either or at least around these times. Don’t play much but when I do, I do break totems. I bought, I think, the stranger things chapter for inner strength.

I too, get tired of seeing complaints about noed. Just break those totems

  • Thanks for the responding. I had a feel the restriction we’re lifting for ptb but was hoping not lol. Just for a bit of hope. I can’t wait for a new matchmaking system

My reply extends to both the players and the devs for allowing the matchmaking to get to where it is now.

Even when matchmaking works correctly, there's a 90% chance your teammates are still bad and are just boosted.

Oh ok. I see what you’re saying now

  • My notifications are mixed up or something lol

  • Care to elaborate. Why is it rainbow color matches instead of ranked with rank or around? I’m serious because I don’t know what others have to do. I know some times I get people that do dumb things in game but I want to know about the ranks and matching it up

  • I’m going to try it but if I feel there was no fix, just a hiding of ranks, I’m going to either continue finding news ways to have fun or quit. I really think Ima just find new ways to have fun by any means. I like seeing these horror characters and playing them and against them but I want it to be a fair match making toward ranks, so I can play fair.

I don't read patch notes generally, I came here because I suddenly saw sabo being used again and it was ridiculously fast and they would just stay 5m ahead of me so that they'd get my hook. I tried hitting a guy who was sabotaging, he had a medkit, he proceeded to complete it after being smacked anyway as if it didn't even interrupt the timer.

I like this sabo and I’m not that good at the game or always play the wrong ranks but even sabo didn’t do too much when I played killer. I did some of the things these guys are saying and they didnt have to tell me.

Now old sabo, I think killers hated that or at least when I ran it because I use to 99 hooks, then finish it off when the killer tried to hook. They go for the next nearest hook. Boom, 99, one tap it’s broke.

  • @MigrantTheGreat said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/143660/possible-anti-hook-suicide-idea

While I agree with your idea, the reason why I disagree is because survivor's will always find away to forfeit themselves from a game. You can't control entitlement, it's always gonna be there until they get a taste of it themselves. The only thing that bother's me about the whole situation is that survivor's can find a way to get out of the match because they "aren't having fun" but what about killer's?

My last few games as killer before I stop playing killer, I dc’ed because I knew I wasn’t gonna play for a couple hours or the next day. I do the same for both sides. Just survivor I can kill myself. I do it tho because I’m always match with ranked killer that are way out of my league and wasn’t having fun. Same reason why I did it with killer

  • @Dehitay said:

Can we make it to where every time a survivor gets hooked for the first time, they get a 20 second timer going and if they reach the sacrifice state before that timer finishes they get a negative bloodpoint action like say -25,000 bloodpoints which gets subtracted from your account's bloodpoint pool if you didn't make more than that in the match? I can't think of any valid reason that a survivor would reach the sacrifice state from first hook in 20 seconds unless they blew through unhook chances to race to the 2nd state and just refused to struggle to race to the sacrifice state.

At this point, I would still suicide on hook. I’m always in unfair matches, rank wise. When I’m in a good rank match, my teammates seem to forget how to unhook and I’m talking about when I use to not hook suicide. Once they fix match making I’ll stop with the suicide

  • I’m trying to stick around for whenever it does get fixed (that’s why I’m finding different ways to have fun), but I don’t know how long I can stick with doing this. Seeing how it really does screw the teammate over big time. I watch a few games I hook suicide on and only 1 game the others got 1 gen done
