What is the one detail, that one element in a map that makes you go nuts. For me, I love it when you can use the killer's lunge to approach things for an unexpected angle. It is one of the least utilized but most cool things for me.5 comments 41 views last activity

Now that the number has been knocked down to 50%, we have finally have balanced it, right? Right? Its still broken, and broken for one very simple reason; it sticks around While one heal using this COH is longer if you included the blessing time, once you consider that other survivors can do it at the same time, that penalty does not matter. I want to make things clear that, as a killer main, this game favors survivors. The problem is that is that it favors SWF in particular, leaving solos in the dark (and usually on the hook). The logic behind the free aura perk this is pretty simple. As a killer main, the difference between a SWF and Solos is big that it is impossible to balance. If you had the power to add something to this game, what would be the dumbest thing you actually want? I personally would love there to be a perk that sole purpose is to make survivors fly forward when downed. It would be so pointless yet so fun.19 comments 161 views last activity

I think by now most people know that Prestige is not worth at all. So I want to ask what you think would Prestige worthwhile. For starters, I would like the blood effect to be applies to any outfit you have instead of just the default one. I think this is possible because it would similar to the effect of being contaminated.33 comments 291 views last activity

Do you like stealth killers or mobility killers? Those with complicated mechancis or those with simple ones? I want to know. Personally, I love killers with a stealth element. Jumpscaring survivors never gets old.7 comments 71 views last activity

Boons are in a weird spot balance wise. Put simply, their design benefits survivors greatly especially when compared to scourge hooks which are not consistent for killers. These unique design benefits are You can choose when and somewhat where you want it Other survivors can benefit from your boons Boons don't tell the killer what boon they are dealing with They stick around forever Thes5 comments 31 views last activity

Each killer needs a tutorial for both sides. As a killer, many killer powers are very poorly explained and take a couple of matches to actually understand what they do. As a survivor, this applies as well. This causes a lot of newer survivors to hide the entire match because the killer power is just too scary for them. By creating tutorials for both sides, you can teach both sides how to bett4 comments 101 views last activity

Hexes aren't really a perk category themselves but rather a modifier to an existing category and have multiple problems that make them frustrating to use. They are powerful in theory, but mediocre in practice. The first major problem is the risk. Hex perks can be lost within the first 20 seconds of the match if you are unlucky. this means if you want to keep a perk active, you need to run undyin15 comments 293 views last activity

As a survivor, there is nothing worse when the progress you made on generators gets deleted by pop or ruin, but luckily BHVR has given us a great perk to stop this from happening, Dead Man's Switch Its requirements are a bit weird, requiring a survivor to get hooked, but using perks like for the people can help activate it more often, giving great synergy with it. The perk makes it so that kill1 comments 51 views last activity

As many of you know, prestige is not good. All it does is waste a bunch of hard-earned blood points for cosmetics that don't even look good. So how do we fix it? PArt 1: The Cost Instead of just having prestige be locked behind the level, let us add challenges to it as well. Each prestige level would have its own unique challenge for that killer. This would help make prestiging each killer feel0 comments 251 views last activity

Coming up with new things is hard, so why not just mess with what we have? Take two killers and a survivor merge their power and perks to make something new Here is the format: Name of the killer: adjective noun Power of the killer: insert broken thing here Lore of the killer: insert edgy thing here Outside of those broad rules, go nuts.3 comments 41 views last activity

In case you are wondering what brought about this anger, I was going back to complete some old tomes when I had to a do challenge involving Blood Echo. 5 matches and another perk later I got it done. Blood Echo, on paper, sounds okay. You hook a survivor, and any other injured survivor is easy to find and down. However, there is not one, not two, but three issues with this perk that ruin so many33 comments 1,221 views last activity

One of the main problems with Dead By Daylight's balance is how easy it is for both sides to snowball. As a survivor, it only takes one person being killed for everything to fall apart while for a killer it only takes one long chase for three gens to pop. My idea with this rework is to make snowballing for both sides much harder and give both sides tools to come back for defeat. Goals for Each S2 comments 21 views last activity

It is a common belief that the harder the struggle, the more you learn from it. It is only by going through great struggles does one truly master the craft one is trying to master. Trapper is the ultimate test for killers. Sure, you could just camp but any killer can camp, no if you are to be a trapper main you must master two things: The base kit for most killers and trap management Or in ot15 comments 462 views last activity

The Balance of Dead by Daylight is weird and complicated, but if I had to sum it up in one sentence, it would be the following: Killers can do good in the micro, survivors can dominate the marco What I mean by this is that killers dominate in the chases, but survivors can win easily if they just stick on gens. However, just because the survivors as a whole can do well, individual survivors can13 comments 211 views last activity

This is about Emblems, not player expectations As a Survivor, you are expected to: Do Gens Do Totems Heal Teammates Get in Chases and Escape Them Escape As a Killer, you are expected to: Stop Gens Stop Totems Stop Healing Get in Chases and Win Stop Escapes Don't Camp (this is poorly implemented) Don't Win Too Quickly One set of these expectations is controlled by the player's a1 comments 31 views last activity

"You put your right foot in, You take your right foot out" Ahh, the Killer Meta Shuffle. For those not in the know, Killers have a problem, a big problem. Basically, when one playstyle or perk becomes dominant, instead of look at why it became dominant, they just nerf it and move on. Take for example Undying. All Undying needed to do to make it balanced is for when it activates for the totem9 comments 161 views last activity

We all have that one game where our teammate decides that urban evasion is the greatest gift to survivors and does nothing by crouch around. Let's run through a quick checklist Map Pressure Not really. While Victor can move very quickly, it is very hard to capitalize on any success he makes. If you hit someone healthy, you still have to walk over there. If you down someone, if someone is next to them they can easily kick Victor and then have to walk over there before they finish healing the downed survivor. For most killers, you want survivors injured so that you can track them and down them easily, and this perk adds the benefit of a global slowdown. That means this perk must be good, right? Well, sort of. The main thing to understand with Thanatophobia is that it forces survivors to heal. For most killers, that is not that good. But for three types of killers, this is game-breaking. Which types?4 comments 201 views last activity

There is an old saying in game design that "players will optimize the fun out of anything." DBD is haunted by this specter, and I will outline a couple of examples. I present to you, Deathsligner's one good perk! All jokes aside, this perk is very strong if used properly. The most important thing to note when using this perk is that you want as many other hex perks as possible. Why? If a survivor does a dull totem, they only forget about the TR for a bit. If they do a lit one, engage hall_hacks.exe. Now is as good as Undying? No. Haunted Ground? No. So w6 comments 781 views last activity

They just don't work. From a survivor side, the timing and the angle for flashlight changes every other dang patch and when combined with lag makes getting them consistently almost impossible From a killer side, you can't really do anything about it. Do you know what is fun? Using a build that is based around a gimmick, like say catching people healing with M&A, Nurse's Calling, and Thantaphobia. Do you know what is not fun? Status effects, love them, or hate them, are a core part of DBD design. Some killers inflict status effects as a core part of their kit, such as the Doctor, Legion, and Mister Metal Cone for a Face. But why are PH and Doctor's status effects so feared while legion's deep wound is considered by many to be a joke? Trapper is, in my opinion, the second worst killer in the game. Why? Like the Hag, His power is triggered by survivors, not the killer. Like Freddy, His power can be disarmed (waking up get rids of dream snares and pallets) Like Bubba, his power can be used against him to slow him down (tantrums for bubba) Like Myers, he has a long set up time Like Wraith, he lacks map pressure Like Clown37 comments 1,091 views last activity

What do you need to do as a killer to win? If you were to ask a new player that, they would say hook people. If you were to ask red rank killers, they would say create Pressure . What is Pressure ? We will get to that in a second. What do you need to do as a survivor to win? Do gens. That's it. As long as gens are getting done, the survivors will win. And that is where Pressure comes in.1 comments 61 views last activity

Why does this perk make you invincible? As a killer, it makes this perk the most annoying out of all of the exhaustion perks, as its lets the survivor not only dodge your attacks even if they screw up, but can straight up deny some abilities, most trapper's traps. Let's have some fun, shall we? The goal is to make the worst map possible for both killer and survivor. However, you can only add things that already exist in other maps. We all know that one perk, that one perk we would love to run but don't because other perks are just better. These perks suffer from 5th perk syndrome. Surge is a gen regression perk that has way to many conditions and cooldowns for a relatively small reward. Let's consider the best possible situation, you down a survivor who is somehow within 32 meters of all gens in the map, making them all regress. The Hatch is one of the worst aspects of the game, and is bad for both sides. For killers, they get denied a kill. For Survivors, they get left for dead by their last teammate Adding to this, the hatch is very biased in how it operates. Did you find the hatch first? Great, you close the hatch/escape and you win. This discussion is dedicated to positive things about the OG killer, the Trapper. For starters, both Brutal Strength and Agitation are very good perks that fill their role nicely. The problem is that all three can be easily abused for other uses beyond the intended use. When Decisive Strike is active, you cannot be picked up. So you can do a gen, a totem, or just if you want to be really safe into a locker, and the killer can't do anything to you. Head On has a similar problem.
