I guess that would be ok. I still think the perk would be strong with that.
Tinkerer is very strong on mobility killer that also have 1 gen defense perk (it usually paired up with ruin) i get it can be too stong so trying to balance it to make it less oppression is fine just not making it only have one time on each gen as it does make it weaker but too weak for people to have an incentive to use it.

Tinkerer can maybe have a one-time use but other than that, I think that other perks are fine.
I think a cooldown (maybe 30 seconds) for the specific gen might be better then a one time use i think
-
No. Dead hard is too strong even if it an exhaustion becuase it strength outweighs the weakness and doesn't have a counter play.
Like all except one exhaustion to me are not balanced at all and dead hard and adrenaline are the worse cases.
All don't have fair restrictions/requirements except for head on which does it perfectly. Lithe and balanced landing aren't the worst but could use some tweaking. Sprint burst could have an requirement of getting it active and to use it as it almost as strong as dead hard and adrenaline.
Dead hard need to be rework completely as i doubt it be change to be a fair perk for both sides and adrenaline need one survivor to gain an heal state and can't ignore exhaustion which is stupid in my opinion.
Also i will say that i do really hate exhaustion perks

If this is happening constantly. I would advise you to stop playing till the next chapter and if you're doing that, that great. no one should lose interest in playing that fast. Hope you're doing better
-
No- it could be better and more rewarding then it is in the state its in.
-
It need repaired dude. Just send it to the entity and wait for a week and check in to see if it fix but it might not be as the entity has other thing to fix.
Honestly tho it migt be a glitch but Idk i haven't played dbd in a while but i do know that blight had a problem with his ability when he get stunned while using it, it disable until you m1.
Hope this helps.

The totem seem lonely.
Maybe it need a survivor to comfort it even if it kill it.

Triskaidekaphobia changed to be a 13/10 perk.
1)regressing gens
2)13% progression penalty
3) gens 13 seconds blocked
4) oblivious for 13 seconds
5) blinded for 13 seconds
6) exhausted for 13 seconds
7) aura's revealed for 13 seconds
8) 13% haste for 13 seconds
9) succesfull attack cooldown reduced by 13% for 13 seconds
10) missed attack cooldown reduced by 13% for 13 seconds
11) vault speed increased by 13% for 13 seconds
12) break speed increased by 13% for 13 seconds
13) 13% more bloodpoints for 13 seconds
Great! 13 out of 13
The perk that everyone will use even survivors, people who stop playing the game and the thing itself.
Hope it doesn't destroy the world or it might become our savior? Who knows, we're just at its mercy
-
First one would've been 13 out of ten but is a 10 out of 10 since it only have 11 affect which one doesn't give 13 (haste) which is why it doesn't count. Until it has 13 effect that is 13 then it will be perfect. Also it should've been the 13th perk suggested.
Second one is might be annoying but i wouldn't know till it was tested but i would think it would be a fine perk that i wouldn't even complained about it if i was still playing dbd if it does gef into it.

This is a very hard question for me to answer because as of late, Dead Hard has been my crutch and that side of wouldn’t want to see it nerfed. However I understand the frustrations and I think it can use a slight change to make DHing for distance more counterable.
It would be fine if there was some counterplay on it or restrictions/requirements to make it fair and that goes for all exhaustion perks (except head on as i think it a perfect example of it exhoustion perk)

I hope they do something about the hatchet hitbox... seems like a lot of Huntresses "do well" because of bogus hits like these, in my experience.
To me. The hitbox is too inconsistent.
You could get hit by a hatchet that is to far away or avoid one this is nearly close to touching you.
it weird but not as weird as blight collision when rushing.

@Hippie said:
I mean, I'm playing Killer a lot more since the midchapter update and Dead Hard getting fixed hasn't slowed me down at all. I actually haven't been using Dead Hard for the past three months because I constantly ended up exhausted on the ground but now I'm looking forward to using it again. Just played a game last night as Wraith and got a 3k (last one got hatch) and I got DH-validated three times (and pallet validated once!)... didn't bother me whatsoever. Just remember that if you hit them and they don't go down, you weren't meant to hit them in the first place.
Now if we could just have hit validation brought back... it was here for such a short time 😭 Was so nice to not be hit by Huntress hatchets around corners
im pretty sure hit validation is active since i doubt dead hard validation and pallet validation would be on while hit validation is off. That would seem weird.
Also the hatchet hitbox is weird and they did changed it for a while but it didn't do well (kept going through survivor) and i think they decide to keep it on how it is (even tho they could've tweaked it but idk how coding works or how well their code would back then)

The perk definitely did need a fix, because it hadn't worked under dedicated servers at all - why should it be reliant on the killers connection for example, so that 100% did need to be changed.
With regards to the balance questions you brought up, sorry but I'm not addressing anything that we've not discussed publicly. I do pass on the feedback with regards to what's been discussed here, but it's not up to me to decide what gets changed or not.
The perk was fine before the fix and many people have complained about how bs dead hard was. If it needed a fix why was is still used and why was there many people complaing about it?

yepp, that's my understanding as well - that instant notification.
Shouldn't that problem take priority then fixing a perk that doesn't even need the fix in the first place?
it more annoying to when it happens on pallets but is more frustrating when it happens to a perk that is too strong for it own good.
it wierd that the dev haven't done anything to dead hard when people have been telling them that it too strong and it has no counter (you can't bait out dead hard for distance)
i wouldn't consider the fix on dead hard a fix as it wasn't a detrimental to the perk itself which is why people say the surveillance fix was a nerf as it wasn't to strong of a bug to make the fix as a fix.
-
The magic that i found in dbd was gone when i got to red ranks and it been going downhill from there.
I haven't played the game for a few weeks and i don't fell like coming back at all.
im exciting for vhs when it come out.

Have you thought that may you see Dead Hard all the time, because there is constantly threads about how OP Dead Hard is and how much it needs a nerf.
I've always been a fan of Sprint Burst, but after coming to these forums, I was like, my god Dead Hard must be the end-all be-all of survivor perks. I tried it for a while and realized it's like any other endurance perk.
Balanced Landing is my go to perk for multi-story stages. Sprint Burst is my generic goto endurance perk. Lithe and Dead Hard are there when I get bored of the other two. Heck, there are even times I play Smash Hit and Head on. As someone that uses all the endurance perks, I would say Sprint Burst is the over-all best and Head on is the bottom of the barrel with Smash Hit being very close behind.
Every game i've played had more then one dead hard..
Also all the endurance perk have limits or requirement to get any use out of them. Soul guard only get it when recovering on the ground for a 8 seconds, mettle of man needs 3 protection hit to get it and borrowed time only work on the unhook for 12 seconds.
Dead harddoesn't have any limit or requirement that make the perks fair. Being injured is only one requirement to use it and the exhaustion is just a cooldown that only goes down while working which aren't enough for it strength.
Personally i think all exhaustion perk (except head on as it is a perfect example has how an exhaustion perk could be) need to have a stricter requirement attached on them (adrenaline is one of the worst case when it come to this) that make them fair and isn't just something that can be used with little to no effort on their part (this will depend on how strong the perk is)
-
@Munqaxus said:

It's a fix, Dead Hard wasn't working as intended.
However, I think the take-away here is that the Developers have looked at Dead Hards data and instead of changing it or nerfing it, they fixed it. Which means Dead Hard isn't out performing other endurance perks. If it was, then they would have reworked it instead of taking the time to fix it.
i doubt that endurance perks are outperforming dead hard. If it did i would've seen endurance perk more often then dead hard which i know i haven't.
they should've rework or nerfed it first while adding the validation hit on to it.

I would consider you a long time player, but the title of veteran (I believe) should go to those who were playing this game when it was absolutely busted and in favor of the survivors. Back when real infinites were a thing, back when nurse was even stronger, back when insta heals were a thing, and back when hag used to suck.
Fair point.

Yeah, I have noticed that too. It seems the number of newer players FAR outweigh the number of people playing from the earlier days.
I am one of those people, and I have yet to find another person who was playing this game back at the start of 2017.
I wonder if i could considered an veteran since i played the game when spirit came out (September 2018)
-
The game was fun at a time for me but now it became stale and repetitive.
I was grateful for that time and was hoping for it to get better but to me it hasn't.
With so many perk that did little to nothing and a few that could greatly impact tye match to one side to another, it not so fun.
The concept for dbd is great but the execution went poorly in which the dev haven't done much to fix it.
I still hope it does get better for people who still play the game and i hope people still enjoy the gzme but i don't think i will be coming back to it.

Yeah I’ve noticed that too. Probably because OG 2016 and 2017 players have already quit or just don’t find going to the forums all necessary.
Also, who knows, it will remain a mystery. It did come from high school which I graduated from in 2019.
I would say that most have left and some like otz and tru3 hasn't been on the forum and there is scott jund which i do see time to time but don't know if he a og or not.
And theGannMan is a that weird and fitting at the same time but that with all name online. It great you like your name. There was a time where i did want to change mine but kept it as i took a liking.

Yo thanks for having me on the show. I’m very excited for this and can’t wait to talk with you about the state of the game. I’ll try to answer the questions as much as I can.
- It was June 1, 2020, I was in my room browsing Steam looking for a new game to play. I looked in survival horror genre and found DBD. I read its description saying it was a 4v1 asymmetrical horror which was something very unique and it seemed popular so I was intrigued to buy it. I’ve seen no gameplay on it going in so I was pretty much starting to play with no expectations on how the game is played. I did do the tutorial but that didn’t really help as I pretty much didn’t know what I was doing my first ever match.
- Honestly I’m not sure where it came from, I think one of my friends called me it one time and it just sounded fitting. I eventually made it my gamer name. It just has a nice ring to it.
why does it frel like that many known people on this forum has been playing dbd for under 3 years. It must be me though.
Also i wonder how the name thegannman got into a conversation. Either it was randomly said or it was fate by god.

I do hope that game will be fun and successful enough for a console port as I have a crappy pc
im hoping that it might take like eight month at best to port it on console and it might be able to run smoothly on the old gens which will be great since i have an xbox s while my brother has the x version (not series)
plus we get to see how they do patch and added characters if people are waiting to come on there preferred platform. Im just hoping they have mouse and keyboard support because i bought them a few months ago.
-
I been playing on the super mario 35th anniversary collection mainly mario galaxy on my switch which i got a week ago. Been having fun and will play mario 64 afterwords or give it to my brother.
Im hoping to see what vhs has in store as it look fun to play. Sadly i don't have a pc to play it when it come out so im hoping to save up when i can to get one,
-
I uninstalled dbd a few days ago and i was going to see the patch to see if it was worth coming back to but since the nft is now known as real. I can't stop playing this game and im glad i can leave this game for good as i could've done something better than playing matches that frustrate me or matches that are boring to play. Now i can go on in my live and has of right now im excited for vhs to come out to have something to be invested in but not too invested like i was with dbd.
glad you are feeling better and i hope everyone leaving dbd will find something thay can be invested in and are feeling better.
-
Vhs has a good chance of succeeding dbd but that depend on how the game goes and how to dev treat the game and their playerbase to do so.
I do think some people will lose interest in dbd if bhvr doesn't fix the problems dbd has.
i am very hopeful with vhs and i don't dbd has anything special other then licenses and being very lucky.

Great examples 👍 /s
Three Nintendo games usually played together on the couch, as free for alls and not against randoms over iNet and iirc at least the last has even a real competitive niche "eSports" scene.
DBD is set up with two distinct counteracting sides working against each other and is outside of "kill your friends" "casual competitive" just because you can't distinguish between ranked and non ranked so the extremes have to be taken into consideration.
Again you never can balance a game for the casuals because the tryhards will break everything going for max efficiency shown by either hardcore nurse Mains or full swf on coms.
Those example might not be the best but still hold up what I meant. PvP game aren't necessarily competitive. Like the you can play casually and not trying to win but still have to do the objective. And of course balancing toward best player are the way to go I was never against that, it was become more unbalanced then it is already.
Playing a game balance on higher skill level is more fun/fair the. Balancing it toward power skill level.

Welp the Q&A happened. No plans for console to get graphics options, no plans for mouse & keyboard, and a continuance on cross progression soonish-but-likely-never.
And not even a whiff of that 60fps goal from spring '19 it wasn't even brought up.
But they'll continue to let us play on the older machines while it's technically still possible.
I hope this upcoming patch get us at least back to pre-RE chapter performance. Because I personally at at the end of my metqphisical rope here with DBD.
I have very unhappy that they didn't add those two it would make the game better after they fix the problem on low spec pc/last gen console
How I'm just waiting till I can get vhs if it out before I get a pc, the game look like fun.
The only thing that is great right now is the wrait h cosmetic that I didn't get in the previous rifts, it look great and I will get it with shards.

And again people misinterpreting the word competitive with eSports. And I mean you, not Mila.
2 sides Steigung for counteracting goals is pretty much a lexicon definition. (And no I didn't look up the correct definition.)
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2550191#Comment_2550191
Maybe but balancing for the casuals will brake every game once some competitive players work out all the tricks that are possible in the game.
Hence why most pvp titles get balanced around the top and not the bottom.
Also this is where MMR comes into play. When truly the top play against the top (and not the amalgam of everything from noob to pro like with rank 1, IF they didn't make a low hard cap for MMR) only then they can balance this game.
The only problem then is for the casuals to refuse to play efficient mimicking the top.
There a game that are played against player that aren't competitive like Mario kart, Mario party, smash.
When playing PvP game. You are playing to win but not to the extent to those who play PvP game competitively.
I never misinterpreted what competitive means which your definition (which has weird wording) doesn't describe it

DBD is a competitive game just by the sole fact that it's a player vs player game get that through your thick skull. A game doesn't have to be tournament level to be deemed competitive lmao. Again TC is pretending that he doesn't play to be competitive you 100% you do regardless of how much you whine about game imbalance. Don't pretend that you don't man up to it. By the way TC is saying he only has ONE BBQ on ONE killer despite playing apparently for three years. Something isn't adding up lmao. Sounds like he's making himself look more of a victim or easier to side with while using problems with the game as an excuse(ergo bloodweb grind). Kinda like his whole post. But I am innocent I just want to have fun I am not competitive at all :(
player v player aren't necessarily competitive

To be fair, most games don’t have M&K support. At least at PS. Or am I wrong? I remember this frustrated me a lot when I played PS4.
What frustrates me a lot about these Q&A’s is that every answer seem to be “yes, soon but we can’t give anything exactly”. Really? It seems to me that they just do one patch at a time, and they probably have to do that to always cope with new bugs that arrives with every patch lol.
Anyway, thanks a lot for this @GoodBoyKaru
there is not a lot but that had to do with some games doesn't need it or it doesn't have crossplay which doesn't require precision like cod

In really annoyed why they aren't going to add m&k support as it could close the gap between pc and console and why they aren't adding graphic option, it could give them the chance to increase fps cap on console a bit.
I'm more frustrated at not having m&k then the graphic option (which I am still angry about since they game is too dark to see in ultra).
I'm hoping the mid-chapter will fix the problems many people are having as well as me (console peasant here)

Disappointed they didn't address the optimization promise question that was asked in Q&A. Wish they went into more about performance fixes when they had the chance with the graphics options question.
With the question from Japanese player about supporting ps4/Xbox one was happy to hear they will continue support. What I noticed was he said "we love our Japanese player base" not "we love our console player base" - seemed weird to focus on it being Japanese player base instead of console player base, almost like if it wasn't for the Japanese players we'd be screwed?
to me it seems like they really don't care about console.
they haven't given us many feature that pc have and doesn't try to level the playing field between console and pc.
it pretty disappoint and I hope they at least do something that tell us that they care other then optimization.

Forgiving to one side just means frustrating to the other. If killers could lose every chase because of the survivors' skill and still win because the game is "forgiving", then the survivors would just feel frustrated.
I don't think he meant having one side more forgiving and if he did he wouldn't say
If the game was more forgiving to both sides, we'd probably be seeing less toxicity.
