  • I don’t mean to downplay your frustrations, because we all have stuff we get annoyed by that others might not understand. But honestly, Technician is a bad perk and once you reach higher ranks you’ll face survivors that run much stronger perks than Technician and still avoid blowing up gens.

  • The killer is good, I’m not sure why people are so adamant that they’re garbage tier. We’ll see over the next few weeks how people rate them compared to others but so far I think they’re pretty decent as well.

Is she though? Victor can still be taken away for 45 seconds and possibly longer because there's just no threat of taking Victor. Without their power they're just as good as anyone else when it comes to injuring.

Use Victor to get a fast injure and secure the down with Charlotte. It doesn’t matter if the survivor doesn’t shake Victor off because he’s removed when you down them. You shouldn’t really be using Victor to roam around the map miles away from Charlotte in my opinion, they need to be used together.

I don't see how she's good at getting people injured. She's a 115% M1 killer without Victor and Victor attaches to any healthy person he attacks. Meaning she can quickly injure one person due to how quickly Victor can traverse the map, but following up for that down after Victor attaches to that person is not always possible.

Now if the survivor is already injured then yes Victor can have a field day quickly downing the survivors as you don't lose control downing a survivor with Victor. But getting to the point where the team is injured is still going to take time as Charlotte.

If you use Victor, I mean. If you see a survivor you can send out Victor, injure them quickly and then switch back. The cooldown for switching back to Charlotte is quite short so you can be on them pretty fast. Down them then you have Victor again and can leave the first guy slugged and go pressure somebody else.

I have been wracking my brain trying to think of she is actually good at and so far got nothing. Killers need either high chase ending potential, good tracking or high mobility, and the twins don't really have any of that in abundance.

Early days but just can't figure out what an effective playstyle is for them.

Slugging. She’s a really good slugger because she’s good at getting people injured.

The meta changing perk was also more of a bandaid, but sure.

Does it matter? It’s the strongest perk they’ve released in a long time and it’s gone unchanged for months, even with tons of survivor complaints. If the devs released a strong survivor perk do you think the forum wouldn’t be filled with posts of “devs are survivor sided!!!!!”? Hell you could see it during the PTB with people screaming about the pallet perk.

Killer players need to stop acting like they’re actively victimised by Behaviour. The devs have made tons of killer-favoured changes this year alone.

  • The last chapter brought a meta-changing killer perk and this chapter reworked one of the most unfairly survivor-sided maps in the game. If you think the devs do nothing to improve killer players’ experience, you’re mistaken. They may not be going as fast as you would like, but they’re improving the game a bit at a time.

    • Which region? UK / Europe.
    • PS5 digital or physical edition? Physical edition.
    • Did you use the PS+ version? Yes.

not really. The only reason I'm gonna have trouble with that is I won't be able to use Spine Chill. Other than that, ez pz

I’m not worried about me, I’m scared of perkless teammates. If you thought they died fast while running crutch perks, just wait.

  • 8 perkless escapes? They really do hate solo survivors, lmao.

I see a lot of threads complaining about tbagging, clicking etc. Do people genuinely get mad at those?

It doesn't affect your gameplay at all while you are playing killer, it's literally just someone pressing ctrl/m2 with no impact on the gameplay.

If anything to me getting bmed is funny because i already know i'm gonna down them in like 10s max. Why do people get upset and BM?

What you’re essentially asking is, “do people who are new at something really get annoyed when they’re taunted by others for their lack of experience?”

People who complain about BM are usually newer players, and they get annoyed by it because they feel powerless to stop it. Do you think anyone really cares about the guy who teabags before getting downed? Or do you think it’s more likely that it’s an experienced survivor who can’t be easily caught BMing a less experienced killer who has no idea how to catch them?

Say you went ice skating for the first time. Would you be annoyed if everyone else on the rink pointed and laughed at you when you inevitably slipped and fell? Do you think it might make you feel a bit bad, and like those people were unnecessarily rude?

  • I like using Second Wind now and then with We’ll Make It, as long as you’re not the first chased it works well. Unhook, heal them, and you’re good to go.

There are better combos and better perks in general though. I haven’t bothered unlocking any of his perks for my other survivors.

Fair enough I can't imagine getting salty over someone unhooking themselves though. Try not to take it personally it's a game

I’m not salty at all, petty revenge against selfish teammates is fun for me!

  • The killer player having good ping benefits the survivors. The killer player having bad ping penalises the survivors. So the game unintentionally rewards you for having worse ping (to a point), unfortunately.

They wouldn't have tried if you wasn't there. Chill it's a game let people have fun. Its survivor you don't need to be that efficient

Do you think I have the power to stop people from attempting kobes or something? They can do what they want, but then so can I, so if they want to attempt to kobe I’ll just leave them to fend for themselves. :)

  • This map isn’t really that survivor sided... you can camp someone from really far away, and there are quite a few dead zone gens and hooks. If someone goes down on either side of the map you can make it really difficult for the survivors to save and slow down the match considerably.

  • @ccactus623 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1784498#Comment_1784498

If they didn't respect your time them would try everytime it's. 4% chance if they get it, it's whatever no one is doing it to upset you just wanna role the dice. They didn't waste your time as they wouldn't try if they didn't have someone to unhook them.

If someone kobes in my face as I’m running in to save them then yeah, they wasted my time.

  • If you’re the one playing Freddy, a survivor running across the entire map to grab a clock and wake up is good for you. They could just sit on gens and not waste time running around. So I don’t really see why you would want them to not see the aura - it’s like Pig’s boxes, you WANT the survivors to do a side objective instead of gens. That’s sort of the point.

  • @Dwoot said:

Are we legit mad over people trying to kobe, imagion playing the game to have fun

If people wanna try to kobe that’s fine, but it shows me they don’t give a ######### about my time or enjoyment so I’ll no longer have any interest in theirs either. Not gonna be mad about it but then they shouldn’t be mad if I don’t heal them, take hits for them or try to save them again either.

  • Being rank 1 lets me flex on the forums and it means people have to take my extremely biased and unrealistic ideas seriously. Worth it.

  • @AshySlashy3 said:

I got news for you, it's even worse. I was playing a match against a Myers, and he started the chase, caught me....And moried me. I'm not sure what perk combination it was, but I hadn't been hooked, I hadn't even been hit. As soon as he caught me the first time, I was instantly moried.

That’s an add on he has called Judith’s Tombstone, or Tombstone Piece. It seems incredibly strong (and in some situations it is) but he has to stalk for a long time to get it.

Good news is that he’s the only killer who can do it, so once you know about it you can watch out for it.

  • @DwightFairfield said:

Survivor main here, I've noticed in most of my games the most common way my team loses a game is because they all rush the hook at once, allowing the killer to slug each survivor one after another.

If it was for the points it's understandable but no one seems to have a plan going in, "no one brought BT and the killer is 10 meters away, so it's safe to unhook, just pray they have decisive I guess."

Bad plays like this tend to lead to toxicity. The end game chats are filled with claims of camping or tunneling and whatnot, but what was the killer supposed to do? Watch everyone run away and give them a head start?

You can't make a stupid play and then be mad when it doesn't work out, and you especially can't blame the killer for taking advantage of your play, because their job is to literally take advantage of your plays.

Can we just stop doing this? Wait at least until the killer leaves?

    What is the thought process?

Unfortunately, the people who play like this won’t learn because they refuse to accept that they made a mistake. That’s why they blame the killer - it’s easier to say “well it wasn’t my fault, the killer was camping!” than it is to admit that you might have something to learn.

People do this all the time. Killers who cry gen rush after chasing one guy for three minutes and barely using their power. Survivors who cry tunnelling and camping when they make it the absolute easiest option for the killer.

Hopefully one day they lose the ego a bit and realise that even experts and geniuses learn new things all the time.

It says it starts December 1st today is November 30th.

It also says “check back here every Monday” and today is a Monday, so you can understand why I would assume they’d post something today.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I don't think they are late I think they are just bad at how they word specific things. It says:

"Make sure to check back here every Monday at 11AM ET for full information on what rewards are available that week! Codes will also be available via the in-game news on Mondays at 11AM ET. "

It doesn't say anything about THIS monday; they probably plan to just announce it tomorrow instead since that's the start of the event or something.

You’re probably right. I thought “every Monday” was extremely unambiguous wording but it seems like they meant “every Monday during the event”.

  • It says “check back here every Monday” which means they should be releasing info today, but they haven’t so I guess that was a lie. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Dwelf, put Behaviour on the naughty list!

  • @I_am_Negan said:

I believe it starts Dec. 1

Which is this week, so they should be releasing information about this week’s rewards, no?

  • I love the character designs. The survivors feel like a collection of people that could actually exist, and it’s cool that they’re from a diverse range of places. The killers are all pretty creepy/threatening, and most of them have interesting backstories. Plus all of the licenses are great, they add to the fun of the game without overshadowing the original cast.

  • I can’t wait for the farm maps to be updated. Give them creepier lighting, remove some of the corn (not all but some), and rebalance the loops. I seem to play on these maps a lot so I’m looking forward to seeing them updated.

  • @MeltingPenguins said:

    your keyboard is broken

They’re talking about teabagging as you point, I.e. doing both at once, it was a thing that got introduced a few patches ago and it was hilarious but the devs patched it back out.

  • Pleeeeeeasseeeeeee bring this back Behaviour 🥺

  • They want you to be scared of them and play like they’re a big scary killer, but not be immersed or difficult to track. So they’re wishing for something that can’t really exist. Maybe bots would have this playstyle.

  • I’m really not a fan. I love the concept (character, weapon, power, map) but I’d rather face any other killer to be honest.

I think I’ve only had fun against one Slinger and that was because the guy fired his gun at every single opportunity. He must have reloaded hundreds of times, I’m not kidding. That was fun.

I also never really play him because I don’t enjoy him much. I’ll probably change my mind at some point.

I can cleanse all totems by myself 2-3 minutes into a game depending on the map when I run small game. On top of that it's easier to do it solo rather then trying to figure out which spots on the map your teammates are talking about and where noed might be because you only cleansed 4 out of 5

So you can spend 2-3 minutes running around cleansing totems and not doing gens or saves or chases and there are seriously people arguing that Ruin/Undying isn’t strong? And of course your solo teammates have no way of knowing that you’re doing this so if even one other person does the same thing the game is basically over.

Doing bones is easy, it takes 15s if the killer has not 4stack of Thanatophobia

I didn’t say it wasn’t easy, I said it was just as unexciting as doing gens.

  • @Rebel_Raven said:

Because, overall, it's a lie when survivors say they want a second objective, apparently?

Even still, they can try to power through it, and/or not leave the gen.

It’s not a lie, people just want a secondary objective that isn’t more M1 holding. Seriously, what is the mechanical difference between doing gens and doing bones? There is none.

  • I’m gonna save this post and come back to it 2 months after the killer release. Well see if Power Struggle is giving killer mains unspeakable trauma by that point, but something tells me it won’t be.

The funny part about these squads is how often they end in a 4k.

Sure, when they get a newer killer they have their fun, I guess.

But I also take great pleasure in facing these squads because they tend to completely ignore gens and play way altruistic. Then they realize you aren't going to fall for in it and they all end up in a pile

I am much more scared of the organized gen jockeys with decent looping skills that keep sprinting away from objectives to give each other time on gennys.

    100% agreed.

If I have to choose between Head On using flashlight warriors, or efficient gen jockeys who play it safe... I’ll go for the flashlight warriors every time.

All of the techs they try and pull are just free and easy hits. You learn more and have a much better chance of success in these games, even if you’re a new player.

  • I would use it if it didn’t buff the Obsession. I tried running it recently and it basically ######### me over a couple of times because the Obsession’s increased altruistic action speed let them get easier rescues and heal up fast.

I really don’t understand the devs’ thought process of leaving in the Obsession buff. It made sense before because the slowdown was huge and the Obsession was in danger the whole match. Now, it’s a perk that works against itself. And the dumbest part is, it wouldn’t be run a lot even if they removed the Obsession buff.

So definitely trash tier in my opinion.

I swear every game where I manage to do well in a chase, more than half the time I get a killer who will sit there on me, teabag me, shake their head frantically like they just won the E- Superbowl. I'm sorry that it took you eight chases to finally down me, but it's not my fault, dude.

It makes me not want to get better at chases. I'd rather be knocked down in 15 seconds and hooked, than to do well in a chase for a minute and get slapped around and told no like a bad nanny for an extra minute. Yeah it's good for the game but it's certainly not enjoyable to experience. I'm already high adrenaline from managing to somehow survive a chase for that long, now you want me to take a beating I didn't deserve?

I love it when killers do this. Knowing that I was such an annoyance to catch that they’ll throw the game to kill me is basically the biggest compliment I could receive. If I can get a long, fun chase I don’t even care if I escape most of the time.

You have to see the funny side of it and not take it personally. That person is mad at you because you played better than average and made their game difficult.

  • Here’s the reason a lot of people dislike it: it requires absolutely nothing from the killer. You could be the worst killer in the world, be a face camper or be literally AFK and still get NOED to proc if you get favourable totem spawns.

Compare it to Devour Hope - also a hex, also gives a speed boost (albeit different), also gives instadowns, and even allows the killer to mori people. But you have to actually work for DH stacks so it’s not really considered a crutch. If you’re not good enough to down people, you don’t get value from it. Versus NOED which gives you value whether you play well or not.

Just a note: I personally don’t care about NOED so I don’t really care about anyone’s “b-but DS!” I very rarely die to NOED, I don’t run it, I don’t complain about it when people do run it and I don’t think it’s a great perk. But this is the reason a lot of people hate it.

  • I miss old Freddy. He was one of the first killers I found success with as a baby killer at high ranks, as unbelievable as that sounds, and I never even needed to run old Ruin on him even when everyone ran Ruin all the time on every killer. Old green dress for reduced chances of getting skill checks and one of the drawings for insane power range and sniping survivors from afar... ah, to have good add ons.

He was fun and unfairly and harshly judged by the DBD hive mind that can never accept a dissenting opinion. Survivors would BM you all the time thinking you were doo-doo, which made it all the sweeter when you won. :D

  • @TheButcher said:

Did someone just say Hag was even the least bit viable as a Killer 🤣

Hag is extremely strong against the vast majority of survivor teams. She has a couple of weaknesses but they’re not a problem in like 90% of the matches you’re gonna play.

  • Again, there are over 120 things that can turn up in a survivor’s bloodweb. Green maps don’t turn up often enough to run one every game, especially since green maps require a specific add on to track totems and add ons are lost after the match.

  • @WishIcouldmain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1776299#Comment_1776299

Run a rainbow map with crystal bead (Purple Add-on) and odd stamp.

So run an ultra rare item, with very rare and rare add ons every match.

Do you realise that survivors have 18 items, 55 add ons and 56 offerings that can turn up in a given bloodweb? What do you think the chances are of farming enough rainbow maps with those specific add ons?

  • It’s fine against coordinated SWFs or four experienced solo survivors. It’s completely overkill against average lobbies.

It’s also very map dependent. On a corn map or an Autohaven map survivors can find and cleanse five totems in a reasonable amount of time. Good luck on maps like Hawkins, Lery’s or Midwich though.

  • @Katie_met said:

And the amount of red rank survivors that waste and camp or the pallets or just instantly go down in 2 seconds

It’s painful sometimes running aura reading perks. Watching the Meg camp a super safe pallet, get hit, then throw it and run away into a deadzone. 😭 Much as I love Kindred and Bond, sometimes I’d rather live in ignorance.

  • I don’t mind some of them (Trapper’s breathing and Ghost Face’s swooshing and sounds of leather creaking are actually weirdly enjoyable for me) but Demo’s stomping and screaming is just a touch too loud. I don’t mind the idea, but I wish they’d knock the volume down just a bit.

Also wish they’d reduce the volume of survivors screaming on hook because I feel like I’m damaging my ears every time I play killer. The AAAAAAAAAHHH is fine and thematic but please don’t blast out my ear drums with it. :(

  • Firstly, you NEED to adjust your playstyle to your perks. If you have Corrupt, don’t make your first chase around a Corrupted gen. And if you’re going to run gen information perks you need to pay attention to them. Tinkerer went off several times and every time you ignored it.

Secondly, you need to work on your pathing. You move kind of weirdly around stuff, going super wide and then quite tight when really you should be running tiles as close to the wall as you can without getting stuck. Don’t swing out wide when you run around stuff.

Thirdly, you have to adjust to the survivor you’re playing against and learn to read what kind of player they are and what they’ll do. You swung at the Jane expecting her to camp shack pallet when the way she played made it pretty obvious she wasn’t that kind of survivor. Doubling back and getting that first hit on Dwight was good, and demonstrated that he was probably the weak link of the team since he doesn’t pay attention - so you should prioritise chases with him in a typical match, though that said chasing at that building isn’t usually a good idea.

Also, in your situation I would have slugged the Dwight. You downed him and Tinkerer went off which should have told you you needed to pressure elsewhere. I see why you didn’t (Devour Hope) but don’t be afraid to slug if you need to - hooking someone can waste quite a lot of your time.

Finally, don’t give up! You learn through practice and if you enjoy the game, you should stick with it. :) You have room for improvement but so does every single person playing this game.

  • I go through phases with this game. Sometimes I hate it, and I’ll take a break for a while. Sometimes I love it. Right now I’m in a “love it” phase and I just get enjoyment and satisfaction from nearly every match. :D

As survivor I have some friends I play with which helps a lot. The matches are more fun. As killer I just try not to take stuff to heart and play for fun. I’ve been playing this game off and on for a long time which helps.
