While an interesting idea she was a pretty evil person. The survivors aren't. Add to that how weird it would be for her to be killing herself and you have your answer.
-
No. I'm a Nancy main, but that ######### is ugly. And well ######### Steve.
-
I mean I suck at both so....

Plaguebecause she was trying to help her people and everyone pretty much died.
Spirit since she saw her father kill her mother and then was pretty much sliced to bits by her psycho father.
Nurse for losing her husband in a tragic accident and having to endure the suffering people at the asylum.
Huntress for watching her mother sing her favorite lullaby while dying in front of her as a small child. She pretty much fended for herself the whole time and lived without human interaction.
What you said. I'd also add Wraith and Billy.
-
I actually really like the lower floor. There are so many different LoS blockers. It allows for a bunch of mind games.
-
Puppers, Pug, and Otz are my main 3. Tru3 is usually not on when I'm home and he's a bit too smug for my taste. I used to watch Panda when I could. Marth was good to watch before he jumped to Last Year.
-
Wraith was my OG killer. I really enjoy the stealth aspect.
Piggy followed him. The stealth plus the dash are really fun. Traps are too rng based. But when they work they're incredibly useful.
Currently on Doctor. I always have trouble find survivors early. His Static Blast helps massively with that.
-
When I am trying to learn a new killer sure. Otherwise probably not. I find pop to be sufficient and more reliable.
-
When it stays up and the killer gets map pressure it's strong. But most of the time it's pretty meh.
-
If it was 4 on 1 no. If you're thinking all 20 of them then yes. At least some of them. Billy, Trapper, and Mikey would still destroy them.

Ruin was never good against a team of good survivors. I agree on that if killers were saying "Ruin is mandatory" they were most likely not good killers.
Ruin however was NOT a crutch perk. The amount of pressure an m1 killer can put out is extremely low outside of a select few characters. Running a perk as a bandaid fix to try and remedy the combination of map sizes and generator speeds is not something that should be seen as using a crutch.
I generally agree with you. If Ruin was mandatory they weren't good enough compared to the survivors they faced. That said I still am hoping the devs have something planned for the very near future to help with match speed.

You might die if they're idiots but you will still pip. That's important because the higher rank you get the less often you get potatoes.
I don't think your team being bad makes the game less relaxing though. Killer on the other hand is actually stressful quite often.
Unfortunately that's not a guarantee. I've encountered far to many incompetent teammates to say even most survivor games are relaxing. Which is really sad, as I consider myself a below average survivor and half these fooks make me look like Noob3.

If my team is idiots then I can just die on hook and move onto the next game. Or just play for the hatch.
Meanwhile if I have a bad match as a killer, which is already stressful enough with apparently being expected to mult-task and be aware of 4 other people and having to count 60 seconds multiple times in my head to make sure I'm not "tunneling" (which is harder when multiple of them look the exact ######### same), I'm stuck in that match unless I want to abandon all of my BP and have a DC strike against me or decide to go AFK for 5~10 minutes while the survivors loiter around, pointing and T-bagging at my butt.
My point was if your team is bad you're likely in for a highly enjoyable match. Which is not to say that killer games can't be incredibly frustrating as well.

I run into a facecamp once every maybe 20 matches, if that. Quite rare.
I think a lot of people confuse facecamp and proximity camp. Proximity camp is very possible to save from.
I think the title is quite exaggerated. Survivor is quite an easy and relaxing experience in the games current balance.
Literal face camping is quite rare. I do have to disagree about survivor being relaxing though. If your team is comprised of idiots it's the opposite.
-
Yes. His Static Blast has counters. The Static Field automatically revealed you. Overall I think BHVR did a good job with him. He's not really irritating to face anymore. And he's a bit stronger killer now.
-
I'm sorry but no he doesn't. His shock isn't that hard to play around.
-
Biggest thing is to concentrate on learning. Don't worry about the end game tally. Just work on improving. As @DudeDelicious said above, YouTube and I'll add in Twitch can give you invaluable advice and insight. Lastly I'll add, play both sides. You learn much more by playing both roles.
-
I was going to argue that both sides are toxic (which they are). But the OP makes a good point.

Nancy, Dwight, Claudette, and Feng.
Pig, Wraith, Doctor.

I like and Hate these rift challenges.
They're a mixed bag. I dislike the get 5 silver chaser emblem one and ones like that. Mainly because it seems silly to have to spend 5 games on it.
-
I've said before Noed should be be on a timer. Each hook gives you a token. Each token increases the timer. Still not sure about the numbers. But I was thinking a maximum of 6 tokens with each stack giving you 30 seconds.
-
Yes, how dare they use the items they spent their blood points on. That's like saying how dare a killer bring his best addons. I don't bother bringing items anymore. The only exception is a med kit, or rarely a map.

That's the thing I don't .Thats why I'm baffled.
I guess survivors are just more boasted more than ever before.
There's a complete 10 gens challenge. Alot of people are probably trying to rush through that.
-
Yeah that's pretty dumb honestly. I mean, I dislike Noed but I'm not going to give anybody ######### for it.
-
I respect killers that deserve respect. If you play scummy then no. If you play a good game win or loss then yes.
-
I think it's mostly down to negative experiences. If you're playing killer and have a rough game it always sucks. Then you get rude messages and Tbagging at the get to rub salt in the wound. This happens enough and naturally you'll turn bitter towards survivors. Same if you're playing survivor. There's only so many camping, tunneling killers you can stand before it gets to you.
-
Not really. These challenges have been far less obnoxious then the first tome.
-
Removed no. But I'd say it needs a rework. If for no other reason because of how upsetting it is for killers.

Yeah stuff like that isn't really a challenge, it's just time consuming.
Pretty much. That and the get 5 bronze light bringer emblems. Just a waste of time honestly. Though I suppose at least the gen one you can progress through quickly.
-
The fact that the made a challenge to complete 10 gens doesn't help with the people who are trying to gen rush.

I just gave you many situations when it happens.
Doing gens, healing, cleansing, unhooking, starting chase, bodyblocking, getting caught in Bear Traps, disarming/sabotaging Bear Traps, triggering Phantasm Traps, using Object of Obsession, spamming vaults to to create auditory warnings, hiding in lockers, etc...
People with DS do these things all the time. Some of them more, some of them less often, but surviviors abuse the invicibility from the DS however they like.
If you dont see it then you certainly dont play Killer, and Im not sure if you even play survivior, because it happens all the time.
And these are all things that surviviors do, things like hooking 3 survs and getting hit by DS still happen even if surviviors dont abuse the perk themselves, game does it for them.
I literally just said that in most cases you can avoid it. Not all. Your list is correct. I personally do think DS needs tweaking. But still the majority of times I've seen someone hit by DS is because they decided to tunnel. I've personally been hit by it twice that I can recall. Both times were because they were trying the cheeky crap you mentioned above. DS didn't save them as all they did was annoy me.

Wow, wait really?! So basically, all I have to do to avoid DS is down and hook 3 other people? And then I can safely get the guy with DS, because it disables after I do that?
Oh wait. No. It doesnt work like that. You get hit no matter what, just because you dared to touch that person again after less than 60 seconds. Doesnt matter that everyone else is downed/hooked/dead. Btw did you know that you can easily tunnel 3 people at the sane time? Or if you are lucky, even all 4?
It makes perfect sense, how dare killers complain about people with DS healing under hook/doing gens under hook/cleansing under hook/disarming traps/getting caught in traps/triggering traps/bodyblocking/######### anything because there are no conditions, DS works no matter what.
If you don't tunnel you won't get hit with DS 9 times out of 10. Yes, there will be the odd time it happens. But it becomes mostly useless without tunneling.

I mean i dont know about you but about 90% of the stealth players i see hear a heartbeat and waste time running away even if the killer is in a chase with that being said it's not wasted time the thing is it's 4 to 1 you are telling me that the chances of a good looper trying to get the killers attention which would remove the penalty wont happen if you are i completely disagree with you on that.
That's a problem with bad stealth players. So many of them don't use their heads. You are right that there will be the games where their is the player that wants to loop gets in chase quickly. Unfortunately a good chunk of those players are bad at looping/think they're better than they are.

I mean you are not technically "forced" to run at the killer you can just wait until he finds someone else also Toolboxes are not the biggest problem you can wipe through gens without them you can still have a 2 minute game without them they only increase the speed. Gen times are still a problem.
In regards to the stealth argument just wait until he finds someone else there ya go the generator penalty would be gone you can easily do so and honestly if this was to come into the game id imagine Whispers would need a change so that would reward stealth gameplay even more.
Which still leads to alot of wasted time early game.

Here's one thing though:
Most killers I have played against will flatout quit the game if they don't find someone in the first 2 mins(Which is a suggestion addendum).
its simply because while successfully hiding is fun(Even though I do like looping a lot I still try stealth when applicable) for the survivor you might just bore/frustrate the killer out of the game if they can't find anyone within 2 mins.
Stealth is fun but the fun of the killer needs to be considered as well.
I've had it happen a couple of times actually. I agree that the killers fun matters. That's why I want a second objective to slow the game and give them time. I just dislike this idea of trying to force interaction.
-
@luka2211 said:
@thrawn3054 i never understood what's so fun about stealthing? There is so small amount of interaction between killer and survivor,if there's any tbh at all. Enlighten me
I suppose for me it's the fun of trying to not get seen. The tension of knowing if you are seen you probably can't run to safety in time. To me hiding from the killer gives me more of that horror movie aspect I originally expected from this game. I'm a huge Halloween fan so trying to hide from Myers is great. Especially when you don't see him at first and he's stalking you. Gives me a little jump. Like ######### how long have you been there.

Still though stealth can have a impact mid to late game it's not like this change completely cripples this idea and honestly all this means is early game you just play stealthy until the killers finds a survivor there you go you can still technically play stealthy.
Which still wastes your time in the early game. Your forced to dive at the killer early or lose a massive amount of time. That's not even getting into all the extra toolboxes you would see to counter the early game slow down.
-
@MonsterInMyMind said:
@Fibijean @thrawn3054 With all do respect stealth would still be a play style just not an early game one basically meaning if you are found first just loop you can still play stealthy mid to late game its not completely crapping on the playstyle all this does is add more killer and survivor interaction early game which honestly is healthy for the game.
A big part of stealth is the early game. Getting stuff done early is crucial for it.

Calm Spirit does not counter doc if they run Restraint (or Iri king and get good rng that gives them the restraint effect) your madness still tiers up so it still reveals your aura.
If nothing happens they'll know to check lockers
I should rephrase that it doesn't completely counter Doc. But it does severely limit him.

I’m done arguing with you lol I can tell you don’t care if gens go to fast or about killers fun ..it’s all about the survivors fun guys!
Yeah, I don't care if gens are done too fast. Pay no attention to where I said above that I agree there needs to be an early game slow down. It's not like I've made threads in the past with suggestions on how to slow the early game. I certainly didn't oppose the Ruin nerf. It couldn't possibly be I just think this particular way of slowing the game is a bad idea.

Whisperers plus his ability make stealth pretty much impossible also what if your going up against a Myers with scratched mirror? No stealth same with ghostfaces rare addon or BBQ there are so many ways to counter stealth
Spine Chill gives you a small window to avoid a Wispers using Doc. Again Calm Spirit counters him. Scratched Mirror Myers does completely negate stealth yes. But a killer with specific addons to counter stealth is a hell of alot different from a base game mechanic.

I think his idea has potential, but I also agree with you that stealth play needs to be considered. The main flaw I can see in Scott's argument is that he's assuming chases are what makes the game fun to play, for both sides. For a killer, I would generally agree with him, but there are some survivors who actually have the most fun playing stealthily, evading the killer, and doing generators to feel useful. I know because I'm one of them.
Interaction with other players is what makes the game fun, which is why stealth is as fun for some survivors as chases are for others, but it's not fun for the killer if they don't know that they're interacting with the survivors. So the question is, is there a way to (a) adjust this idea so that it's equally rewarding for stealthy players as aggressive ones, and (b) make playing against stealth-inclined survivors less boring for the killer?
I'm of a similar mindset. I find looping kind of boring. It can be fun. But to me it's far more enjoyable to try to sneak around the killer. Having that did they see me moment.

Well if you are so eager to be stealthy keep doing it then. Stealth in DbD is such an annoyance, learn how to run a loop instead of hiding in a corner of the map.
Nobody said anything about hiding in a corner. You can make the killer waste tons of time if you can anticipate them and rotate around them correctly.
@Omans said:

Stealth play is massively rewarded if you are good at it (not hiding in the corner of the map and letting your team take all the aggro).
You get no points for stealth. And it takes for ever to build evader with it. It's most certainly not rewarded.

Because you can wait out the time still it would only be like 120 seconds and if the killer hasn’t found anyone by then ..well the survivors are obviously hiding also you can’t hide against a doc so .. this is a great idea are you a survivor main?
The hell you can't hide from Doc. Calm Spirit completely negates him. It also isn't hard to duck into a locker to avoid his Static Blast. As far as survivor main, at this point yes. I'd say my game play is about 70/30. I agree that something needs to be done to help with early game. I just think this is a terrible idea.
-
By all means. Tell me how it doesn't.
-
This is a terrible idea. He literally wants to force survivors to run at the killer. Stealth play is already not rewarded as it is. His idea would actively punish it.
-
The only thing I can say is unfortunately some people are #########. You just have to ignore the idiots and move on.

Could you not just bodyblock the Survivor before DW has a chance to activate?
Also how is this an exploit if it’s the Survivors’ fault for letting DW activate? It’s either them using a Styptic Agent or teammates failing to bodyblock. It’s not like Doctor can apply Deep Wound himself. It’s always the Survivors in this case.
When did Freddy get changed? The last changes I remember to him were rope add-on nerfs.
It's not your fault if the Doctor deliberately avoids you to hit that person. You can only body block so much. I'd argue it should change for the sake of consistency.
