Why would us survivors complain? It makes perfect sense.

Completely understandable. I've taken a few breaks in my time with this game. It usually helps.
-
They said with the last section of this Tome they wanted to avoid disrupting the survivor to killer ratio. I believe something from the first Tome made them think this was an issue.
-
I agree it's rude. But so is killers attitudes towards DS, BT and the like. Unfortunately people on both sides just can't accept a lose.

Oh I'm on console too. That's just my response/message to them. I dont get hateful or salty and "######### you garbage" etc. But I let them know I feel for them. They never like that.
Especially when they message me after smacking me nonstop: "gg ez" or "you dont get points".
I have my stuff set to private. So I never have to deal with it.

If it was a good game and they camped because we outplayed them and they had no option, nothing.
If they camp first hook and 3 others escape due to their ignorance: "you dont get many sacrifices, do you? I'm honored to be your hook of the day."
That legit made me laugh out loud.
Being a console scrub it's a nonissue for me.

Either make it permanent or at least up the timer by alot.

I'm rank 14 as killer and keep getting purple rank survivors. I'm holding my own against them. Usually getting a 4k but, I definitely have to work for it most games.
-
I didn't say it was impossible to escape. It's just going to be annoying. I'm having flashbacks to try to get Adept David...

He would have a higher play rate if he had better cosmetics, Adam has really gross cosmetics right now and not favorable, plus he isn't free, so his play rate is low.
Those are probably both factors.

Hmm...you are not wrong. I think it's all about how the survivor looks when people choose which character they play. So yeah, if Adam got some amazing cosmetics, people would play him. I would probably do so. But I don't like his existing skins at all, so he's staying at home.
I'm just guessing that could be part of it. For me, cosmetics don't really matter. If I like the survivors backstory or have just had fun playing them is why I use them. I still have a huge soft spot for Claudette. She was my original main because I wanted to unlock Self Care and I really liked her backstory. Though admittedly it's nice to have cool outfits for your mains.

I have had dozens of matches where I double pip'd and there was only 3 survivors. The fact of the matter is that Killer literally has no way of being able to do that. The points just are not there. That is why survivors are dcing to FORCE Killers to de-pip as punishment, because they can't do anything about it. They can't do anything I said.
Survivors, as much as it might suck to deal with one less of a player, still can rank up after someone DC's. They even get bonus points for each DC - which is better than what the Killer is getting. If you go ahead and guarantee a survivor gets a black pip when someone dc's then it takes even less effort that survivor to get a pip and double that match - which they don't deserve. When it's already way too easy for survivors to rank up as it is.
Literally this not a long time effect solution to the problem. As I said many times before. There is a new MMR and Ranking system in play, and coming soon. I am suggesting this as a band aid solution to stop survivors from dcing as a way to punish killers. That's it. Nothing else. This discussion is not about giving more freebies to the role that already has everything. Okay, so if you are not going to be apart of the discussion, cool, goodbye, i'm done answering you.
Trying to limit a discussion because it moves beyond where it started is silly. Having somebody automatically safety doesn't make it easier to get a pip. I assumed you were suggesting that they get a minimum of a safety and if they perform well enough could pip. Which I agree with.
But I'm afraid you are wrong that a single DC prevents you from safety piping. The only category you can't achieve an iridescent in with an early DC is Devout. I'd be more then happy to have the devs change it to award the points to each category as though you had hooked them 3 time. But even failing that it still leaves 15 possible points. Which is enough to give you plenty of chance to pip.

I was thinking the same thing. If the devs release new Adam cosmetics, who is going to use them?
Unless that's why nobody plays him. They simply don't like his cosmetics.

Teammates. I understand killers playing in a scummy fashion if they think the need to in order to win. My teammates on the other hand have no excuse for the stupid things they do. It's why I always have to laugh when killers say survivor is so easy. It is if your team is competent. Usually they aren't though.

A survivor dcing does not directly mean that a survivor depips, none of their emblems depend on other survivors all can be completed by yourself.
Killer requires hooks and sacrifices to get emblems.
All you face is SWF in higher ranks, so obviously it's not a minority.
Except stats don't lie. You can't have nothing but swf in high ranks. As for still being able safety as a survivor if someone DC's. Of course you can. It just becomes alot harder. That's my point. I have no issue with killers automatically safety piping on a DC. I just think it should be for all parties who's game got screwed by it.

It's not a small minority, also idk what you mean by everyone else get screwed?
If you can do something to make the game a better experience for players then you do so. This change does not make playing survivor any worse. Get out of here with your entitled mentality.
Also a survivor dcing doesn't FORCE the other survivors to depip. They can still complete objectives, and can still earn emblems all the same. Even find the hatch if they have to - which escaping in anyway already is a guarenteed black pip
Less than 50% of games have a swf. 4 man swf was less then 10%. That's a small minority. Other survivors can easily depip from others deciding to DC. Which is why if they did what you wanted it should be for both sides. As for entitled. I'm not the one who made a thread demanding the devs do what they want. Seems to me you're the entitled one buddy.

SWF's will still abuse this to avoid depips. Unfortunately its not a design you can give to survivors.
So because a small minority of players can abuse something everyone else should get screwed. Except for the killer of course.

Love to play as Pig, Doc, and Freddy.
Hate to play as Spirit, Nurse, Plague.
Love to play against Pig, Hillbilly, Myers.
Hate to play against Legion, Plague and Ghostface.

Four out of the five have high mobility or an ability to end chases quickly. Doc kinda has the ability to end chases quickly, but mostly finds survivors easily. Therefore doesn't waste time. If I'm drawing a connection between them all it'd be time efficiency.

Yup.

Its not RNG except for the key being placed. Its survivor choice and probability.
Having it open on the third box every time would ruin all of its entertainment, how it fits the movie itself, and would lead to pigs running "when a survivor is working on a jigsaw box" addons to watch for 2 attempts.
The key placement and looking for it is fine. Some people just dont like when survivors pick correctly.
But think about how often theh choose wrong and die trying their last box.
It iterally all comes down to the core of saw/the pig: Make your choice.
I couldn't remember if the keys for each trap spawned as the match started or not. I thought that was how it worked.

Sometimes the reasoning isn't obvious. The survivor on the ground might not know you saw their teammates scratch marks and could just assume your being a dick. One reason I feel like there's so much bitterness is the gap between the killers reasoning and the survivors understanding.
I remember playing Vanity mirror Myers one time and being in the perfect position between a hooked survivor and all 3 teammates circled around. No one knew I saw EVERYONE and I knew they were the ones who were on the clock and had to act first. We had ourselves a little standoff, lol. To me, it was obviously the right play. To them, I was just a camper and their presence was coincidence.
That's why I say rational survivors. The reason might not be immediately obvious. But it's typically not hard to work out why they're doing something. In the example you gave, I'd probably just assume you were camping. Until I read your addons at end game.
I had something similar the other day as Doc. I downed somebody and carried them to the basement. As I was taking them down I heard a survivor running above us. I went back upstairs and checked a locker. They hoped out of the other one. I chased and hit them. Turned and saw another survivor coming for the save. I chased and hit them. About then the person on the hook DC'S. I'm sure they thought I was camping. When in reality I just happened to notice the two nearby.

Survivors were gen-rushing me in this game:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/394/86D73DG08VVI.png
However, they got a little too confident with their God pallet at the shack, and it all snowballed from there. Luckily I was Doctor because I wouldn't been able to lock out tiles and make survivors waste time snapping out of it. 😁
Lol. Why are they using a BnP with a saw and sabo toolbox?

Trying to bleed people out is dumb, but really...its never too early to start applying pressure. If I can get a 2nd person down, I'm not just gonna let em run along because X amount of gens havent been done yet and I'm not in a bad position yet.
I think most rational survivors understand strategic slugging. It's when they try to slug everyone before hooking anybody that it's annoying.
-
I don't know if I'd make it base kit. Maybe an addon the decreases the chance that it's the right box.
-
I look for the hatch. If I find it first, great. If not, I got to a gate. Open it enough so the red lights are showing. Then circle towards the other gate. When they come to check the gate I was on. They usually spend a little extra time searching the area. This usually gives me enough time to open the gate and get out.
-
I haven't had any issue without Ruin really. It was honestly not a great perk. It was too inconsistent. I disagreed with the nerf because I thought they should have had something ready to compensate.

Giving free points before securing your win = Toxic.
At this point i'm just going to assume queing as killer is toxic.
I didn't say it was toxic. I said I think it's rude. Especially the way you originally pitched the idea. The majority of things people claim to be toxic aren't. I have no problem for instance with a killer tunneling or camping when it's done strategically. I do when they are just trying to ruin somebody else's game.

The survivor still gets points for opening the gate, about 1250 I think, while survivors don't get any from killer closing hatch
I really don't understand what this community believes is toxic, I just think of it as its REAL reason
Because at that point you're just toying with them. It's no less rude then Tbagging at the exit.
-
God the whining has gotten out of hand.
-
Delete them. Or if people insist on keeping them they need a complete ground up rework.
-
Technically it's always okay to tunnel. Though it does feel cheap. Otherwise if it's end game or if they've been toxic. If you are getting your ass handed to you and need to to it to regain pressure I understand. Though other survivors might not.
-
Mostly because it's boring. I personally understand it when it's done strategically. It's when they slug for no apparent reason that it's annoying. That or when they slug to avoid DS.
-
@Elvenmonk said:
I see where you're coming from but I disagree. Tunneling is a strategy and if your friend leaves you to die by hiding it's on bad team mates.
Plus say you hook someone then after 2 minutes you find and down them but didn't hook anyone else. Why get punished? You weren't tunneling. You just couldn't find anyone else
You addressed my main concern with the OP's idea. I'd say a set amount of time would be a better route if they implemented something like that.
As an aside (yes, I know it's off the original topic). What would people think of a BP penalty to the objective category if survivors use a toolbox? Might slow the game a bit. Which in turn could help make killers feel less like they need to tunnel to win.
-
I haven't noticed very many DC's in my Doc games. But I don't camp or tunnel like most Doc players seem to.

Tell that to all the hook divers who go to unhook as soon as I finish hooking a survivor and turn my back. But survivors think anything the killer does is camping and tunneling.
It was made to combat camping. Only a fool doesn't see that. That doesn't mean people don't abuse it. Which is what my idea aimed at stopping.

So if a killer wants to camp then you lose a token.
If the killer doesn’t camp you dont lose a token.
That makes no sense because the campers are the ones you need it against.
It encourages safe saves while maintaining the tool you have against campers.

That's pretty neat. Maybe a small altruism bonus at the trial end per token you save?
I need to go back and find the thread so I can give the person who gave me the idea credit. But i do think it would be an interesting way to avoid unlimited saves.
-
In another thread I saw the idea of BT having tokens. I actually like that idea. If you start with 1/2/3 tokens. Each time you unhook somebody it spends a token. If it's a safe unhook, you are refunded the token. If they take a hit it acts like current BT, but you don't get your token back. That's my idea anyway.

Considering that the game tells them they have Babysitter on, that shouldn’t be happening, and deducing that the Survivor is running towards the Killer should be very easy. If it does happen to you, I’m sorry that you’re playing with people who underwent severe cranial trauma at some point in their life.
That's probably because nobody runs Babysitter. Not saying it's a bad perk. But I sure as hell never expected it the handful of times someone had it.
As for the OP. There's tons of underrated perks. Botany, Empathy, and We'll Make It are great for healer builds. Better Together is nice for when you want your team to help knock out a gen. The killer aura when downing a survivor is also nice. Streetwise is another solid perk that no one uses.
-
BT only exists to counter camping. If you aren't camping 90% of the time if won't matter. That said I like the idea I saw earlier about having tokens for BT. Say you get 1/2/3 tokens. Each time you unhook somebody it spends a token. You are refunded the token if it is a safe unhook.

Oh I got it, I understood.
What I don't understand is that (this is in estimate).
A gen can be done in 80 seconds, without toolboxes or any perks, just regular Survivor's work.
2 Survivors cut the gen time by 50%, doing the gen in 40 seconds.
3 Survivors is a 30 second gen time.
4 Survivors can do a gen in 20 seconds.
2 survivors take 44 seconds to complete a gen.
3 take 33 seconds.
4 survivors take 28.57 seconds.
-
I haven't minded this one so far. None of the challenges are too hard. I got the survivor ones done in a day.

People, me included get upset because when a Q&A comes up, all they talk about are stupid questions, or discussions about freaking skins... Or they do talk about things nobody really cares about. Why don't they even mention the actual problems instead of "will Claudette get a new skin"? This would help a lot. That's why many people get upset, they pick the wrong questions, or try to avoid the "difficult" questions, or simply do not care about .
Which is a completely fair complaint. My issue, is when people rant that the devs only care about one side. Which, if you look at the changes made over the years. Is clearly not the case.
