I really want him to just start with all his traps.

To the OP:
Yes, match making is crap. Hopefully MMR will fix it.
They've already nerfed pallets multiple times.
Healing was already nerfed.
The game is not as unbalanced as you believe. You basically got hit with the best survivors can muster. Naturally as a new player it felt shity. But if you stick around you will get better. I can also tell you that they have been moving things towards a fairly balanced game. They still have work to do. But it has gotten better.

we would but knowing the devs probably are well aware of the bs grind and really dont care theyd probably not agree to this.
Unfortunately probably not.

the problem is wouldnt you just run doctor or someone with bbq and a survivor pudding then just shock and aoe shock and aoe shock and aoe and net like so many bp at the end?
If that's how they want to play why not? Both sides could theoretically rake in tons of points. Which means less grind. And I imagine we'd all enjoy less grind.
-
I thought you were going to suggest a perk that let you lay flat on the ground.
-
I'd say get rid of both the category and 32k cap. If I can take up 15,000 Boldness points why not let me have it? Same with killer. I pretty much always have Hunter maxed out early. There's honestly no need for the cap.
-
Most of the skins are ridiculously overpriced. But people will buy them so BHVR has no reason to lower that price.

Since we're speaking in hypotheticals, if the killer decides to use it on their death hook, it's not cutting the game at all.
To be fair. The tunnel off the hook and Mori is far more common.

Sorry, But I strongly disagree.
I see way more potatoes survivors at red ranks than killers.
In order to rank up and maintain your red rank position you are forced to fulfil a bunch of criteria the emblem system asks you, hell, you can even 3k and black pip. In other words, you have to do well in order to stay at red ranks.
As for survivors, you can simply rush gens, occasion get into a chase, unhook someone heal, bam, you pipped, specially if you are playing SWF.
It's quite jarring the difference in skill level between some red ranks.
That's my point. They ride the wave of bad survivors to a higher rank then they should be at. Then once they face survivors that actually belong at the rank they're at they get stomped. I very much believe a fixed match making system would alleviate alot of the frustration. Shrink the giant maps and things would be pretty balanced.

Disagree, it hasn't made killers "stronger", it has brought them up to a more even plain of field.
Yes, survivors have been substantially nerfed, because they were substantially stronger as well. All the things you mentioned were MoM level of brokenness, it's a miracle the game survived the way it was.
I don't dismiss the fact that they have, indeed, been moving towards a more balanced game, albeit I can't help but to notice that killers are still getting burnt out, which I reckon is due to some lingering issues.
My point here is to raise awareness of the constant frustration that seems to be endured by the killer community, to see if the devs can iron out the rough edges in order to make the game equally fun for both parts.
Increased vault and pickup speeds are killer buffs. By definition those things made them stronger.
Most killer frustration stems from they aren't actually good enough for the ranks they're in. But most survivors are bad. So they end up in ranks higher than they should be. If they can ever fix match making that will solve alot of problems. Also shrinking the gigantic maps.

I've only played since right before Freddy release, but in the history of my playing, I feel like survivors have only gotten stronger over time. I mostly play survivor, and it's not that I've gotten better.
What are some of the things you see that have made killer stronger?
Over the years they decreased the amount of time it takes killers to pick up survivors, vault windows, and added the entity blocker. There used to be literal infinite loops. Not the ones people complained about now. These were loops survivors literally could not be caught in.
They eliminated pallet vacuum, insta heals, and insta blind flashlights. They've nerfed toolboxes and their addons. They nerfed healing speeds. More recently they added doors on the structures killers complained were unfair.
There are more things I could add. But I think you get the point. Survivors have been nerfed substantially over the years. Which has made killers stronger in turn.
-
Anybody who looks at the history of this game can see the steady move towards killers. Understand I don't disagree with most of what's been done. Old BnP were ridiculous. Insta heals were honestly just kinda unfair.
The devs have been, very slowly, moving the needle towards a balanced game. They have things to do still. Some of the maps desperately need shrinking. I'm looking at you Red Forest. But other than map changes, and fixing MM. The game is pretty balanced.

They are doing bones. Their complaint is they can't always do all 5. I don't agree that Noed needs a nerf. But try to at least have a useful response. Like the people who recommend Detective's Hunch.

Which is an embarrassment since it should have taken 20 minutes to copy and paste the code. Though, then again, we all know how much of a speghetti mess this game’s code is.
Which means it wasn't as simple as it should have been.

You want them to comment that they are still working on it? That's all it'll be right now.

agreed. It's only 33% increase, but has no condition to activate. Plus you heal yourself faster and increased item efficiency (12 charges instead of 16). I really think botany is an underrated perk for survivors.
Which is why I used to run Botany, Self Care, and We'll Make It. Now that was some stupid fast heals.

If you play both sides you'll know how ######### it is to get tunneled or camped.
Because of my survivor experiences, I feel pretty guilty when I off someone extremely early. I try to avoid camp/tunnel, but I don't go too crazy with following the survivor rulebook.
This right here. If you only play killer you'll never understand survivors. And if you only player survivor you'll never understand killers. It's simply trying to allow everyone a chance to enjoy a match.

I want to know if I was facing a solid group of solos, or a group using the SWF crutch to play the game. What harm does it do you for killers/solos to know who's who?
So you feel the devs need to add a feature to satisfy your curiosity?

But this game does not have a clear win con. If we go with pips, a 4 man slugfest or tunnel off hook will be harder to pip if you just 3 hooked most people and did lots of chases.
Same for survivor, a 5 min game will be like a black pip at best for a couple survivors and with very little bp gains too.
I try my hardest to win but i don't tunnel or camp, so what am i? I
A person who plays the game in a fun way. I do my best as a survivor to not make the game very short. I still try to win. But I want everyone to have fun.

I thought it gave you zero, or did they change something I'm not aware of? How can you get gen grabs then if you have a radius? 6 ain't much, but still enough to warn them to jump off the gen I would think...
I've gotten grabs just using Dead Rabbit. I think they just aren't expecting you to be that close. Or are looking for you in the other direction.

Whats wrong with trying your hardest to win?
Nothing technically. It just usually leads to a miserable experience for someone in the match. If survivors play optimally and finish gens in 4 minutes the killer won't have a good time. Conversely a killer that tunnels people out of the game means a bad time for those survivors.

Detectives Hunch is one of the few perks I don't have yet, so Small Game is a good alternative.
It makes finding totems so easy. Especially if you happen to have a Rainbow Map.

Myers definitely isn't the strongest snowbally killer or killer in general sadly. If survivors are good at playing around him and breaking line of sight you can get starved pretty bad. Not much advice is going to be able to help there with how gimped he is at the start. It's mostly luck and positioning to get out of tier 1 quickly. Corrupt would help a lot with that because it brings the survivors to you. Save the best for laugh is terrible in tier 1. One hit on the survivor rips away 4 stacks instead of 2. Nurses, BBQ, and pop are find though. I'd replace nurses with infectious and add corrupt personally.
I've found Nurse's is actually extremely effective on Myers. I've interpreted so many heals with it. Infectious Fright is another perk I need to unlock.

Lads. I run Small Game. Neither of yous are having it.
Detective's Hunch trumps your Small Game.
In all seriousness it's the curse of Hex perks. When they work they're really good. When they don't it's rough. The newer maps are better at hiding them though.

Perks: M&A is a must. Also, I run BBQ for points and location, PGTW to slow the gens, and discordance to know when 2 or more are on a gen.
Add-ons: Dead rabbit. Paired with M&A, you have no TR at tier 2.
J. Myers memorial to get super stalk speed.
Don't tier 3 on 1 person if you can help it. Wait for at least 2,or it's a waste. Once you go into tier 3, it's hide and go seek until your out.
I've tried M&A with mixed results. Dead Rabbit is probably my favorite of his addons. It helps get right on them and gives me the occasional gen grab.
-
@Kolonite unfortunately I get the survivors who do everything they can to block my stalking. Which is why it takes me so long to get out of tier 1. As for perks, I've been experimenting with several different things. I only have tier 1 of Stbfl but I think I'll use it all the time once I get tier 3. I've been using Nurses, Bbq, and Pop. I'm thinking I need to unlock Corrupt Intervention and use that to help me get through the early game.
Even the faster stalk addons feel pretty meh unfortunately. I'll keep at it and check out the guide you recommended. Thanks for the advice.
-
While I despise camping. Face or proxy. It would be abused to no end. Swf would have a field day with it.

I had 4 rank 1's at rank 11. Rip.
-
Not like they've been slowly nerfing survivors for years now. They have continued to adjust maps to try to balance them out. Granted they have a ways to go. And I badly want them to shrink the Red Forest maps. But to say the Devs are survivor sided is disingenuous at best.

I wouldn't call the spot on The Game much of an exploit. Just hold S and you'll land right there with them for smacks.

I just had this against Clown, but without a crown. Literally, he would just dart for me instantly the second he saw me. Looped him a while, and hooked. The devs don’t hate solo Survivors. They’ve said it many times that they want to close the rift between solo and SWF, but it’s not easy. Also, they don’t cater to SWF either. There’s a bunch of perks dedicated to solo players, such as Kindred, Aftercare, Better Together, and more. All of those perks I named, SWF never use them, and that’s for a reason.
The only reason solo is marginally more difficult than SWF is due to lack of communication and teamwork. Trust me, I’m a solo player myself, and oftentimes my teammates won’t even let me heal them while they Self Care in a corner and I have Autodidact. It’s frustrating, but that’s how it is in any multiplayer game flying solo.
To be fair, I wouldn't let you touch me if I knew you had Autodidact either.

Interesting guide. I'm a terrible Trapper so everything helps.

Gen speeds are fine. The giant maps are the problem. Red Forest can burn.

Is this really the kind of petty ######### people worry about?
-
I honestly don't get why people care. It's just a cosmetic.

From my perspective it's not worth the trouble it will bring. Personally I don't really care about cosmetics and I don't use charms. So I have no investment in the matter.

not really if u play solo.
It takes the same amount of time away from gens. You can make an argument for using either one. But they pretty much break even to me.

@GreyBigfoot said:
Technically no, but the purple tombstone takes you out of tier 3 after killing someone, and it would take an enormous amount of time to stalk to tier 3 four separate times.
So yes, you'd need to use both pink addons for it to be possible in a real game.
Okay. That's what I thought. Thanks.

I enjoy all the people who pick Bond when it's just as inefficient as Self Care.

I have been playing the game for a few months now and have moved on from Survivor main to Killer. I try to play fair; no blatant hook camping, no tunneling one by one to ensure a 4k, etc... however if I run into a survivor who just got unhooked am I just supposed to let them go? If I do (like I have been) I rarely get a 4k and am having trouble popping, and if I down them then the survivors blow up my DM with "tunneler". What is the right balance of tunneling to make the game fair and not give the game away just to be nice?
Technically it's always okay to tunnel. If you are trying to play in a fair, or what many consider a fair manner that's a bit different. If you encounter someone fresh off the hook I tend to slug and leave them. This avoids DS and generally will catch you less grief. If however I see them working on a gen right after unhook they get no mercy. If you've reached end game. Either all gens done or two survivors left. That is gloves off time to me as well.
Ultimately you need to play how you want. But if you are trying for a more fair approach what I mentioned should cover it.
