It would still be nice to havec offical dev comment
I don't think they've ever done that. I can't fathom why they're always so cagey about everything.

Reset is today so I imagine that's part of it.

What do you mean, the only thing the merciless killer rating has to do with is adepts, maybe some tome challenges, otherwise the killer rating is completely meaningless.
I mean achievements being bugged. I was trying to get my Cripple Them All achievement done yesterday and it wasn't counting the traps.
-
I was wondering about this. I think it extends beyond just adepts though.
-
Earlier I was playing Trapper with Brutal, Enduring, Stbfl, and Agitation. It worked surprisingly okay and was pretty fun.
-
I don't believe they favor any side. They just seem to lack the ability to make small nerfs to popular perks. Self-Care was very popular but pretty weak so they obliterated it.
-
Let's be honest DS was the last restraint killers had to tunneling. With that dead they'll tunnel to their hearts content.

I have to agree that this is a terrible change. Incapacitation was an issue but they way over nerfed this.

Where did they say this was being charged?

Same here. I get him at least once when I play. He's a cool killer but I hate the darkness (gives me a headache).
It's the obnoxious wailing for me.

Still on this subject eh?
So lets say they do get rid of depips, whats the solution for the huge spike in hook suicides that there is no punishment for?
You think depips stop hook suicides?

Lucky bastard. I get that stupid blob every time I play at least once.

well of course players aren't a monolith and people will have different reasons. Smacking you on hook and shaking their head might mean it's because they are pissed at you but the OP didn't mention that.
I'm saying basically every time I've lead a killer on a good chase if they decided to camp I get the head shake/smack on hook treatment. I don't do anything toxic but it always happens. I suppose they could just be board

For a lot of killers, especially emotional ones or new killers, it becomes a matter of throwing good money after bad
If they give up on the chase after 30 seconds, that's 30 seconds they completely wasted. They don't think about the next 70 seconds they'll waste continuing to try to catch you, they just think about the first 30.
So when they do inevitably catch you, they've now wasted too much time on one player and decide to make sure they get the one kill instead of zero
It's (probably) nothing to do about hating you, it's that at that point they feel like they have no choice if they want to secure a kill
@[Deleted User] said:
Because for some if they lose too many gens they know they probably won't get a kill if they don't. I don't think it's "hating on you".
I might believe this was the case if they didn't also stand there shaking their head while smacking you on hook.

Step one: we need a highly skilled killer & survivor player on the dev team.
Step two : the devs need to be willing to nerf the best things in the game such as SWF Nurse and Blight.
Step three : DBD needs innovative ideas to reforge the current meta so that tunneling gens/survivors is not how every game plays out.
Honestly I think Blight is fine. It's his disgustingly busted addons that are the problem.

Doubling back over your previous scratch marks. Start crouching to reduce the noise. Walk a little to break the scratch marks. None of these are guaranteed to work but there a few things you can try.

I'm doing well with him apart from when I face survivors that hold w immediately or face multiple dead hards.
Holding W is literally the only thing you can do against him.

Dredge. God do I hate that ######### blob.

I really wish things like that just got taken when the events end and you get the BP for them.

This isn't fair at all when you take into consideration that (on average) there are 4 survivors to every killer, so of course the vote would skew in their favor.
Prepare for no killers to play for this period.
If that were the case Dead Dog wouldn't be one of the ones winning.

I probably should of phrased my post differently, is the outrage justified?
Imo no. Killer mains will never be satisfied from what I've seen. That's not to say they don't have fair concerns, they definitely have some. The majority of the issues in this game come from maps rather then things like the Hud update though. Add to that match making is utter trash and their frustration though misplaced is understandable.

I started using it recently and it's been incredibly useful. Especially with the rise in NtH users. I love watching them spin around looking for my aura. The amount of lockers I've seen searched lately has been staggering.

This is either the most ignorant post I've ever seen or a troll. You can't bully a killer with dead hard. Dead hard is to avoid being downed and requires the most precise timing/anticipation being only 0.5 seconds of duration. I play enough killer to get red 1 and dead hard is by far one of the least annoying things (except when they bait me into it, but that is on me, not them).
They said Head On, not DH. Though outside of a Head On squad you really can't bully with it. Even then those people are usually just messing around.
@topic I'd argue information perks take skill to use effectively. Add in something like Hyperfocuse where you need to consistently hit greats.
-
Seeing as she doesn't have the most cosmetics it would seem obvious there are other survivors.

I've been hoping he'll completely die out like Twins but sadly no luck so far.

Those weren’t quality of life buffs. They were uninspired generic number buffs, that did nothing to address the killer experience.
And this is one of the biggest problems with these forums. When we talk about survivors, their player experience is important, but when we talk about killers, the only thing that matters is their kill rate %
How would people like it if the roles were reversed? How would people like it if killers had gotten multiple quality of life improvements these past few patches, and whenever someone complained that survivors didn’t get QoL buffs, BHVR could say “don’t worry survivors, if the killer changes affect the escape rate, we’ll fix that for you”.
This game would be a lot better if we didn’t see the kill rate % as a special gift that is given to killers, and is the only thing that matters at all for killers.
Making killer actions take less time does improve QoL. You can disagree but it doesn't change the fact they were given alot of little buffs. You can argue it didn't do enough and that would be a perfectly reasonable opinion. However stop pretending killers are always getting the shaft. They've had massive improvements over the course of this games life.

Killers got zero quality of life improvements. How many people have you heard say "wow, the killer experience feels better because I kick pallets ever so slightly faster"? How many people have you heard say "wow, the killer experience feels better because I recover ever so slightly faster"? Quality of life improvements are supposed to make the playing experience feel better, and none of those killer changes did that. Meanwhile, we had survivor quality of life improvements that were so exciting that someone from BHVR ran to the forums and was super excited to let us know about these exciting changes. Do you think that would EVER happen to killers? Do you think anyone from BHVR would EVER run to the forums to let us know about exciting killer changes?
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3335420#Comment_3335420
Your opinion doesn't matter. If some killers think BHVR is showing a double standard, by placing so much focus on quality of life changes for survivors, and at the same time absolutely refusing to even comment on whether or not killers will ever get any quality of life improvements, then it's both related and relevant for people to be upset at BHVR for the lack of killer quality of life improvements.
It's been like 6 months since the QoL buffs they got.

It wouldn’t be this bad if everyone just accepted that solo queue AND killers needed quality of life improvements.
Killer got QoL improvements not that long ago. Guess what, they'll probably get more in the not to distant future.

PT is a glorified bp perk with a speed increase for doing the less efficient play. Let me have my funny bp perk... I don't even escape that often in solo queue but I like when my characters levels go up :(

I run windows and kindred as well. Lately iv been thinking kindred may be less useful than i thought since usually the only information i get out of it is that my teammates are crouched in corners or killers are patrolling around the hook. I guess it does help with knowing that a killer is just camed near the hook, but iv been considering changing kindred to something else.
Kindred also let's you see what direction the killer is headed which is very useful information.

I personally like @DBDVulture idea better bc it keeps eruption strong but is also unique, unlike your idea where you are just making eruption into a copy of Pain+DMS. I also don't care for gen blocking perks all that much bc they stop the regression while the gen is blocked(yes I know currently that part is bugged as shown in otz's stream yesterday. Right now gens continue to regress while being blocked but clearly, that is a bug that I'm pretty sure to be fixed sooner or later.) Your idea can work it's just that I don't think it's unique since we already have the pain+dms combo.
The regression stopping is why I added the extra 5% to compensate.

Unnerving Presence and Distressing on Doc. Especially on Gideon.

It really can't take much more nerfing before it goes the way of practically all other survivor perks and drops to a 0% pickrate.
Imo the only change it needs is to no longer stack with medkits.

What do you mean DH used to be unhealthy for the game?
It is wasting just as much time as it did before. Good players are using it with almost the same frequency they did before.
Eruption needs to be changed not nerfed. Add a new generator status where the generator cannot be interacted with by anyone. The generator regresses at a hyper increased rate and nobody can stop it.
This way the survivor can either stand idle waiting 30+ seconds for that status to end, heal, do a totem or run to a different generator.
Eruption can then work equally well on swf and solo players. It can still be a strong perk for killers and not be crippling to play against.
Old DH had no counter. Current DH does so it is no longer problematic imo. As for Eruption I've made my suggestion as to what to do with it before but I'll repeat it here. Increase the regression to 15% and block the gen for 25 seconds. You have almost the exact same amount of regression that way without the incapacitated effect which is the actual problem.
-
Eruption is just unhealthy for the game. Same as DS and DH used to be.

Which ones are you considering gutted other than self care? Botany knowledge I wouldn’t even call a straight nerf. Inner healing is a decent one and was good enough to make it into the meta before CoH yet even with being good enough once CoH came it vanished since it looks bad in comparison.
Botany was definitely a nerf. You trim 1.5 seconds off a heal compared to old Botany. For that you get a negative to you're medkit charges. Definitely not worth the trade.
-
@Blueberry said:
Anyone with a good grasp of DBD's balance understands how overtuned CoH is. Compare it to any other healing perk in the game and it makes them all look like trash in comparison.
It also single handedly makes the entire hit and run play style non viable. As well beating down killers that rely on this play style, which mind you are generally some of the weaker killers in the game already.
CoH's sheer existence in a game encourages killers to tunnel because injures are meaningless. With CoH you can typically heal faster than most killer can even land the hits.
Bad design.
Tbf it makes the other healing perks look like trash because BHVR gutted the other healing perks to the point they're useless. Inner Healing is the only decent one left.

No, it's still obnoxious.
As it's a matter of opinion I can't tell you it isn't. I will say DH was a problem. In it's current state I feel DH isn't a problem anymore. It's still strong but has counterplay.

I really do hope that BHVR does give both sides an equal area of footing if they do tweak perks. Ive seen a lot of people complain about Dead Hard and Eruption, so I hope both are looked at and treated equally (I just really dont want to see the forums blow up with community discourse).
Of course, Ive just given up and accepted both perks in normal gameplay, but Id like to see how the community handles it. But it's nice to hear that BHVR hears what we are saying.
I don't feel like DH needs another look really. They got ride of the truly problematic part. Eruption specifically the incapacitation part is just unhealthy for the game imo. Hopefully they get rid of that aspect and don't just completely nuke the perk.
