As prestige doesn't do anything I'm not bothered with trying to P100 anyone.

Yeah, saying that the DH change was actually a buff is pretty hysterical.
It was a nerf. Calling it anything else is disingenuous. Whether or not it needs further adjustment is up for debate, personally, I don't think so. That's why it's a debate though.
I'd argue it was more of a lateral move. It's potentially stronger in some cases and weaker in others. The main difference is it's no longer obnoxious.

It actually does, though. At max, it spawns 19 pallets. 19. On an outdoor map with a strong main building and a ton of close-spaced tiles. Most outdoor maps stop at like 16 for their max spawn, it starts at 15.
I'll have to do a count the next time I'm on it. It never felt like that many.
-
I really doesn't have that many pallets. The map is just huge with a dumb main building.

I started playing in October of 17. Trust me, I feel you're pain. I've taken plenty of long breaks. It really helps alot.

What are you talking about? Pop/Ruin/Undying were the only slowdown perks.
Eruption/Pain Res/CoB all existed before the nerf to Pop and Ruin.

6.1 also nuked the slowdown meta. So to compensate gen repair perks are about to get nuked to, yes?
All it did was shift the meta to a different group of gen slow down perks.

Poor Billy. He was such a good boy.

They way over nerfed it. They should revert the regression speed nerf.

Hey! I don't care about all that, the whole point is the killer experience is now significantly harder! Everything else your saying about swf is irrelevant!
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3327519#Comment_3327519
Desperately? I disagree, people are just bad at the game overall because they make dumb decisions that gets themselves and the team killed! That's the truth and the matter of fact!
The game is horribly unbalanced now! You can't tell me it isn't!
"The game is horribly unbalanced now". On what are you basing this assessment? The patch has been out a day and a half. It's absolutely impossible to conclude anything yet.
As for your claims this replaces the need for aura reading you couldn't be more wrong. Looking at the two perks you cited starting with Kindred. In no universe does the icons remotely replace Kindred. It's most important function is letting you know the killer is camping. Not to mention how useful it is to see which way the killer went if they leave the hook. The icons give you a vague sense of what your team is doing. It's not even close.
Your second example Wake Up is truly baffling. The icon tells you somebody is on a door. It doesn't tell you which door or show you where the doors are. Further there's also the speed boost to opening the gate. Once again that's something icons don't do.
I could pick this apart for every aura perk but I think my point is made. These threads are disingenuous at best.

You're absolutly right but you're only thinking of the lower skill level. Now imagine you get decent teammates. Think about how much more powerful you are and they are.
Just like i said in the post "...powerful in the hands of decent players." Giving Free info is BHVR throwing things for the skillless survivors to shut up and it's a massive boost to every survivor player that already understands what they should be doing.
Any good Solo survivor is now equiped with SWF level info. Again now think what 4 good Solo survivors can do. They're basicly a SWF already.
The strength of SWF is the reliability it offers because it relieves tension tension created from not knowing. Now you have the Knowledge, the tension is gone as a Solo Survivor.
Killers have been on higher end since 6.1 because Tunneling and Camping increased ALOT! Kicking gens to stall match is super easy. It shouldn't be possible.
BHVR's answer? Give Survivors Free EASY info...WE're correcting a Huge Mistake with an even bigger mistake.
When DbD launched the game had no SWF option. It was added later because Survivors wanted it, now survivors wanted SWF level info for everyone, next like i said it's going to be 24/7 auras, just wait a few months and you'll see.
And there will be less killer players and those that still play killer will tunnell and Camp even more, as if somehow it's even possible at this point.
Umm those icons are not even close to swf level info. Sure I know who is on a gen but I don't know where or how far the gens are. They've chosen to touch a totem are they making a boon or did they find a hex? One person is on the hook and the other two survivors aren't doing anything. Does that mean they're going for the rescue or are they hiding in a corner?
I could go on but I think it's clear this is not swf level information. Useful absolutely. However you're way overstating the level of usefulness it grants.

There's no point in shilling for BHVR over FOMO (An area where they're clearly in the wrong, not the players)... They're not going to give you a cut of the $ for defending them lol. When ridiculous things aren't ridiculed and spoken about it leaves room for it to grow into bigger problems.
I'm not shilling for anyone. I'm just tired of the petulant whining over a non issue. Yearly cosmetics are hardly something to get worked up about.

Why do you think BHVR would care enough to implement this practice 5+ years after the game has released?
Because it's effective. Especially on people with poor impulse control that will be drawn to buying outfits specifically because they are only available for a limited time. It's predatory and does absolutely nothing to benefit the game other than make the devs even more money. The problem is much more difficult than just telling those people to 'grow up'. There's a reason why it works so well and has continued since Halloween last year.
Which brings me back to people need to learn how to control themselves.
-
Who cares? No seriously why does anyone care? So many people act like they are being robbed by limited time cosmetics. If fomo is actually effecting anybody they need to grow up already.
-
DbD is as casual or not as you choose to make it.
-
Enduring, Spirit Fury, Brutal Strength, and Stbfl. Then just pick whatever killer and addons seem the most fun with it. Wraith with the Shadow Dance and The Serpent addon could be fun.
-
I mean literally just run Distortion if it causes you that many issues. Killers have some OP/problematic things but aura reading just isn't one of them.
-
I think pretty much nobody likes that map. Random spikes in the ground messing up loops and a giant space to cross. I honestly can't understand how after all the complaints about giant maps they keep releasing these monstrosities.

so in typical survivor fashion no actual constructive feedback just a stat check who saw that coming. sorry half a year of dead hard not like my argument was about endurance you know since it was in the title and its been in the game for years dead hard just made made endurance extreme common place in most matches.
The literal equivalent of the person who loses a argument online but the opposition makes a spelling mistake so the losing party just clings to that instead of addressing the actual argument
If you'd like a counter argument I would say it isn't that strong as DH is easy to bait. The only time it isn't is at a pallet at which point it becomes a guessing game for the killer same as the survivor. The only other time Endurance hits is after an unhook and frankly I have no sympathy for those who cry because tunneling is a little harder.
-
I have to disagree. Killers aren't too strong, some of them are entirely too weak. The problem is MMR is such ass that matches are a complete crap shoot. Even without the constant DC/first hook suicides.

Does it? You can dodge the initial disruption from PR, but it's still applying regression and the DMS effect - which is why this is so good on Dredge, Doctor, Sadako, Pinhead, Artist etc.
Yes, that would be a fine rework - but mark my words.
This won't happen.
What tends to happen with regression perk nerfs is BHVR deliberately wrecking it to the point of uselessness, or at best making is very mediocre and niche. See: Pop, Overcharge, Thana and Ruin.
Well...maybe one exception with CI, but that's an anomaly.
While I feel Pop was over nerfed I don't think it's useless really. The others you mentioned were definitely gutted though. Hopefully Eruption gets a treatment similar to my suggestion but I'm certainly not banking on it.
-
He's just one of those killers that is annoying to face, for me at least. My most hated is Dredge, but Knight is a strong second.
-
@StarLost said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3323959#Comment_3323959
That's a bit unlucky.
But okay - you nerf Eruption. To the ground. Because that is what happens to regression perks (see Ruin, Thana, Overcharge).
Now it's just CI/PR/DMS all the way down.
How long, do you estimate, it'll take before the front page is carping about PR+DMS, how it's the most boring, unfun thing to face, how if BHVR don't nerf it people are quitting and the rest.
Eruption could be tuned to be nicer for solos - but if it's keep it as it is, so there's at least some variety in the regression meta, or destroy it, then Eruption stays.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3323980#Comment_3323980
Going off NightLight, which is generally high MMR stuff - so where you'd expect to see the meta, last time I checked it was 28-30%. So that's some...incredible luck.
A few things, as someone who plays a fair amount of solo queue and can generally deal with Eruption.
- Run Empathy. Survivors move a certain way before they go down in almost all cases.
- If you see someone spinning, let go immediately.
It's not a perfect counter, because anything with a perfect counter is a bad perk. But I think I'm avoiding at least 50% of Eruptions now, and it could easily be 60% if I was a bit more conservative letting go.
I'd point out PR/DMS has a reliable counter. Eruption doesn't. I'd even argue that it doesn't need a counter just a change. Incapacitated is just an incredibly annoying effect. If it was up to me I'd buff the damage to 15% and have the gen/gens affected block for 25 seconds. That way it's still effective and survivors can still do something during that time.
-
@SirCracken said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3323595#Comment_3323595
This is a terrible argument. By your logic buffing Pig is a bad idea because it technically makes the game harder for solo que players.
If something isn't good against solo que players then no one uses it. Because the majority of the playerbase are solo que.
I think there point was it would make solo queue even more miserable and have no effect on swf.

Too situational in my opinion to be called one.

I've been hoping for a while they'd do a bloodweb overhaul. Get rid of the useless filler stuff so we can only get useful things.

Hmm so less of the better quality stuff. Overally though with the cheaper prices that came with it you level up and get items much faster. It doesn't really bother me, but I understand why it bothers you.
Overall the changes have been solid. The forced prestige was the only miss in my opinion. Especially since they attached a BP cost to the thing they were forcing you to do. It's not a big cost obviously but it still seems silly to me.
-
If they wanted to end tunneling just give the unhooked survivor no collision with the killer until they preform a conspicuous action and boom. No more tunneling and no more BT body blocking.
-
@Blueberry said:

Why don't you like it if it no longer makes you lose any items/offerings/perks ect?
Because I end up wasting a bunch of BP on the first 30 or so levels until I get to the blood webs that typically have the stuff I want.
-
Definitely not going to be F13. If they managed to get that license no way in hell it gets released before the anniversary. It would be way to big of a get not to be saved for it.
As for a prediction I don't really have one. Personally I'm hoping for a pirate.

I'm still waiting for prestige to be made no longer mandatory.

I knew they were full of it then, and they are full of it now. I've run into maybe 3 Sprint Bursters in the last month, with only one doing the 99 trick.
That doesn't mean Sprint Burst isn't still a great perk. The only real difference between SB and DH is whether you want to extend the chase at the beginning or the middle.

I find it funny how Vittorio getting another skin is because of simps, but Feng receiving a new skimpy cosmetic isn't also because of simps. Also she already received a Chinese/lunar new year skins before so, technically this could be just because they want to use Feng's popularity to sell another time limited cosmetic.
Haddie not receiving anything new 8 months after her release is tragic however. No amount of "she's just not popular" excuses the fact they didn't even try with her. Your supposed to give a survivor some cosmetics after release and THEN abandon them, not abandon them after they release.
Adam got the same treatment for a long time.

Yeah, but the thing I don't understand is why they get to that point and then keep queueing up.
At what point is queueing up just irresponsible towards yourself and all the people you play with?
Assuming that they don't do this every time they have a bad match it's hard to say. Personally Clown's bottles hurt my eyes. If I'm not the only one with this issue that could be a cause of some of them. At least that's one possibility.
-
I get people reaching a frustration level where they just don't care. That said Holy ######### there have been alot of DC/first hook suicides lately.
-
Killer I'd remove Fear Monger and give them Whispers. As a survivor I hate Fear Monger, it messes with my WoO and Bond.
Survivor I'd remove Slippery Meat. It's just a trap perk. I'd give them Kindred.

I am because I don't care what they remove. If it's there and I want it I'll get it. If they take away something I want oh well. It's just a video game. This ######### ain't that deep.
-
Who actually cares? If you want a certain cosmetic you'll get it. Making Christmas sweaters seasonal changes nothing.
-
I've noticed when I try for my adept killer achievements I get survivors way above my skill level on killers I've never touched. Like ######### is this?
