It’s not minor, information is still information. Now the average player will know to push gens if they know someone is being chased by the killer rather than hiding. When player A knows Devour Hope is in play and sees that player B is cleansing a totem, they can deduce that B has probably found the Totem and can start moving back to a gen. All these little improvements may seem minor on their own but it can add up quite a bit over the course of a match.
The inexperienced players will still crouch in a corner or get into a locker regardless of the change because they are new, but the HUD update isn’t for them, it’s for those players who know what they are/should be doing depending on the situation. It won’t be enough to drastically lower Kill rates, but the average Killer may end up with more sweaty matches due to improved gen efficiency.
Do you play solo queue? It doesn't matter how much information you give them. There are so many clueless survivors that will still do nothing.
-
Eruption can't be countered. DH can. There's the difference.
-
No. He has a bad rap because alot of scummy players play Bubba. He's alot of fun and good Bubbas are so much fun to face.
-
I always thought that should be a perk.

Bye bye mirror myers and ghost face. You will be missed.
But no, map offerings aren't a problem. Unbalanced maps are a problem, and even then, the majority of those are just players overreacting. Only real problematic maps are Eyrie (getting fixed), Garden of Joy (not massively problematic) and Borgo (jury's still out, I've played this map like 3 times)
If you could have ended up on the map anyway, why does it matter that an offering was played?
The real solution is to make map offerings hidden so you can't get triggered by them.
And if map offerings really are "too powerful" (which I don't agree with) then increase their rarity. Make them very rare, and add in map veto's as an additional uncommon offering.
You missed several awful maps. Groaning Store House and Mothers Dwell are horrible. I wish they'd remove the offerings because they are just blood web filler.
-
It's not hard to bait it. I get lots of downs on would be flash light savers because they think I don't hear them.

Yes but I changed my name.
I wondered. You'll be thrilled to know I enjoy playing Spirit now lol.
-
If F13 were coming to DbD and it is highly doubtful they would definitely wait until the anniversary.
-
I decided to do some killer adepts last night since the survivor wait was long. That was a mistake. I got some done at the cost of some high blood pressure. I imagine it'll be equally enjoyable when I play survivor.

Did you used to beGannman?
@topic Dredge. The disgusting blob is so incredibly obnoxious to face.

Logically, which is better: your "alternative playstyle" is hard to use every game, or your big power boost?
The actually useful addons should be the easy ones to get.

@RainehDaze said:

I mean, I do, because it fundamentally means that if you like the gimmick or the gimmick's playstyle, it's not something you can reliably use due to the rarity factor.
If they go the other way then you can't reliably play a killer using good addons. Either way somebody will be unhappy.
-
I don't mind them making the higher rarity addons have interesting effects rather than just raw power. Imo green and yellow rarity should contain the most generally useful addons.
-
@Blueberry said:
I think that stems from a bigger issue which is tons of bad/useless addons and offerings. A lot of them need improvements.
True, but I'd still like to see an option to sell back addons, items, and offerings for BP. After all just because I don't use something doesn't mean others won't. For example I never use map offerings while others may wish to.

Just in general or is someone specific in mind for that skin there?
In general. Though I would enjoy it most for Meyers.

Why do they always think a dip in the steam charts means a concurrent drop across all platforms?

Basement Bubba? Infinite Tombstone Myers? Condemned Sadako?
Pretty sure there's way worse things than a Killer that puts up a choice between healing and power denial.
If it wasn't for the obnoxious puking noises then definitely. No where near as bad as Clown's bottles or Dredge's Nightfall but still pretty annoying.

Relevant for Insidious Bubba and Mikey
Now I want a Drax skin.

He's legitimately one of the only things that make me jump in this game. Like ######### how long you been standing there.

Plenty of times. Personally I don't worry about it too much and just try to pip and get as many points as possible.

I thought the initial damage happened and the regression doesn't start until it unblocks.

There's Borgo, Coldwind, Garden, Lery's and the Game left so I don't think survivors will be that bad off.
What? Doc's map is pretty good for most killers.

It’s definitely Garden as the next killer torture map. That map is extremely unbalanced and ridiculously large.
Hopefully not. I hate that map on both sides.

Survivors did the same thing with "facecamping".
Facecamping was when a Killer stood directly in front of your face to block any unhooking. It LITERALLY blocked the only way to unhook because there were no side unhooks back then.
That was patched out.
So they changed the word to keep complaining. Now it just means "Killer within 15m of a hook".
While face camping is overused I still see it. Yes you can no longer physically block the unhook but that was honestly more of an exploit than anything.

If it was not true they would have said so here on the forum. It's said everywhere about Bubba they would have stopped this already if it was just a rumor.
They almost never comment on rumors.

A question:
You suggest to return to previous system where prestige was not mandatory but you wiped out everything you bought on prestige?
Or You want prestige non-mandatory but keep everything on a prestige?
But after few thoughts... i like current system, it forces for some grindings, and makes leveling not stale, you constanly needs bloodpoints. So either way - no. Current system is great.
One thing i would change is qol to make progress faster, like being able to buy something far on a bloodweb, and game automatically buys everything on its path, and if there is no entity to take some things from web - ability to by everything at once.
Leave the current system. The only change being you can elect to not prestige and just run through level 50 bloodwebs.
-
Not really. The people who did that will do it regardless. I'm looking forward to this update alot. The added information will be fantastic.
-
Dude what? You prefer everyone just stacks the meta perks? There are also easy ways around aura reading. Distortion for survivors and Fear Monger for killers. As someone who usually uses aura reading on my survivors I can attest to how effective and annoying Fear Monger is.
-
I haven't seen this. PtS is the only common one of these. I run PtS for the bp boost personally.

If it would be only the size, than nurse would also struggle. There are many killers with mobility who are not viable. Map size is a factor, but strong loops are worse.
And even with the nerf styptic and syringe are a problem. Styptic lets you reach a pallet/window for free and with a syringe you save up atleast 32 seconds. Against weaker killer you can even use it midchase and be sure that the killer doesnt hit you before it procs. And you can use the medkits first and then deplete the last charge with this.
I didn't say it was the size alone on every map. It is however the main reason alot of maps are painful to play on.
-
😂😂😂
-
Most of the updates favor one side or the other. Earlier this year killers got alot of small basekit buffs. This update is focusing on survivor QoL updates.

@CookieBaws said:
I don't know why boons are unlimited in the 1st place.
It would be just fine with 2 tokens.
No, it would be useless then.
@topic CoH has been nerfed to a good spot. It only needs to not work with medkits.
-
@TicTac said:
I dont think most of the mentioned things are busted. Higher FOV would be great and buffing solos to swf and then balancing killers for it, too.
But to be fair with nurse this things are ok. But why? Bc you dont need to deal with some busted loops/maps. So i think onesided maps are the biggest problem if we want more viable killer.
Other things, which should be nerfed:
- Styptic and syringe
- Medkits in general
- BNP/maybe also duration-addons of a toolbox
- maybe duration of Wallhack-Key
- Circle of healing
- Hyperfocus-combo
- Endurance should probably remove your collision
If i dont miss something that should be everything. The devs removed a lot of the problems already, so thats good.
You're actually complaining about Styptic and Syringe in 2023?
As for the topic nothing is busted. The issue is the size of maps.

How do you win against a coordinated SWF with full meta perks, predropping every pallet, splitting up on gens across the map, calling out where you are at all times and who you're chasing, avoiding each other's gens, and taking hits for each other? The only reliable strat is to tunnel someone out ASAP, and hold out a 3-gen. This is also what you see high level players do, along with a lot of camping to force trades/advanced hook states.
Because every game is a well coordinated 4 man swf. Will you have those games, sure. They aren't as common as everyone likes to claim. Under those conditions you might need to tunnel to win. That is not the average game though.
-
Amazing how everyone is always high mmr. That aside there are alot of factors that go into a match. The map and map rng being the most important factors. To claim you have to tunnel to win at any level of play is disingenuous at best.

@PrettyFaceKate said:
Aren't great skill checks way harder to hit on console? I have to see how big they make them, because this might be another instance where console gamers get the short end of the stick. Again.
They're pretty easy to hit while wiggling. I'd say I hit them probably 80% of the time without trying.
-
I hate this map on both sides. It's huge with massive deadzones. It honestly might be the worst map in the game.
-
So you want everyone to just run the meta rather than trying different builds.
-
@Zephinism said:
they should freeze the screen and drop the FPS to like 2 so PC players can get the console skillcheck experience, would make greats feel more rewarding.

Killer.
Primal Awareness:
You never allow the thrill of the hunt to dull your ability to be aware of your surroundings.
Whenever you injure a survivor the auras of all survivors within 12/16/20 meters are revealed to you for 4 seconds.
Primal Focus:
You're heightened senses make tracking even the most elusive prey a breeze.
Survivor footsteps are 50/75/100% louder.
Ambush Predator:
You've mastered the art of remaining silent while hunting your prey.
After hooking a survivor you gain the undetectable status effect for 15/20/25 seconds.
Fury:
The more survivors attempt to thwart you the more your rage builds.
Whenever you are stunned by a pallet or blinded by a survivor you gain a token up to a maximum of three tokens. For each token you have you recover from the blind or stun 10/15/20% faster. You lose a token each time you injure a survivor.
Survivor.
Pass Without A Trace:
You've mastered the art of going unnoticed whenever you need.
For every 15 seconds you spend in the killers terror radius without being in chase you gain a token up to a maximum of 3 tokens. Press the ability button to expend a token. By doing so you leave no scratch marks and your footsteps make no noise for 10/15/20 seconds.
Keeping Tabs:
You know the key to success is knowing what is happening around you.
Whenever you hit a great skill check the auras of all other survivors are revealed to you for 4/5/6 seconds.
Grease Monkey:
You've spent a big part of your life fixing things. Naturally you can always find the right tool for the job.
Whenever you search a chest you will always find a toolbox of uncommon rarity or higher.
Explorer:
Your earliest memories are of adventures to unknown areas.
When you search a chest for the first time you will find a green map. The map will mark everything within a 8 meter range of you. Including pallets, windows, and all killer possessions.

It's been this way for years. As long as there's plenty of people that only play one side I would assume it'll never end.
True but at least there used to be alot more civil discourse. People at least tried to understand the other sides view. Add to that there used to be so many things that were legitimate issues.
-
It is pointless.
-
As they say you can lead a horse to water....
-
If you didn't lose all your stacks when you get hit it would be fine. As it is it's not even close to worth the risk.
-
Sounds like you're just bad.

@Hensen2100 said:
As a player with 5k hours? Run sole survivor or left behind every game. That's literally the best tip I can give.
Or be prepared to play lots of unwinnable games due to DCs, bad teams, busted killers, busted killer addons, and more.
Don't bother going for hook saves, sit on the gens. Solo Q teammates are always greedy for unhooks and it risks you getting caught.
If you are in a position to let your entire team die, take it. They were bad enough to all go down at the same time anyways.
Why would you bother playing if you're telling them to just sit on gens?
-
Sounds like a skill issue.
-
As someone who has done this achievement, it royally sucks. As a survivor if I know you are doing 4 Tombstone Myers I will hop in the locker or whatever else I need to do to deny the kill. If I don't I'll probably cost my team the game.
