Buffs are not really things that happen in Hotfixes too much - Hotfix 1 & 2 are normally addressing the bugs that have been found, and most of ones that are found from release will be in the 2nd hotfix.

Maurice has been tainted by Dredge, so I don't think he would willingly go back to Clown at this point. I imagine that Clown and Knight would have to tame Maurice (while he is appearing out of the dredge) similar to wild horses in Red Dead Redemption.
