It would be nice if the Rifts were open longer.
I might just straight up buy all 70 tiers next time.
-
In Soviet Russian, hatchet throw you.
-
I put Slinger was too oppressive. Honestly, IMO Freddy is way more oppressive, but I honestly just can't stand Slinger. Everything about him I hate. I think I hate him more than Doc now and that's saying something.
I also put Clown was too weak. It was between him and Demo but I think Clown needs something extra in his kit to give him better map pressure. He is great in a chase he just needs something to really pressure survivors.
-
If you nerf Spine Chill you'd have to nerf Whispers. It's just as good as Spine Chill is for killers. They are like yin and yang.
As a survivor and killer player I want neither of these things. Both perks are just fine.
-
I mean, Meg already mouth breathes pretty loud.
-
I did Freddy with BBQ, Nemesis, Spirity Fury, Enduring, Black Box, Swing Chains, ebony.
Just get hooks and have them stun you. I got 3 a game.
-
Surveillance works better with her power since you sometimes want to have a TR so they can't hear the woosh. It's also a lot more useful for her when your totems are gone.
If you are going to use Tinkerer also use Prayer Beads so that survivors get used to the sound of the woosh all the time and ignore it.
PS. To answer your questions, the husk will get Tinkerer, but you will still make a woosh. There is no hiding that sound. That means they always hear the woosh if in range, because there is no TR to override the sound.
-
Prayer Beads needed a nerf though. They were stupid OP. Any Spirit that put this on basically got an easy 4k even if they suck.
Not sure what the point of this thread is. Seems like name and shaming to me.

and after that? Freddy? then?
it's just a cycle of "nerf this killer" with survivors
That would be super honestly.

why are you necroing a slightly decomposed thread (its not that old but its still dead)
10 days is not a necro. It's still relevant to the discussion. Tofu's Haunted didn't respawn.
So if they have videos of it respawning and we have videos of it not respawning WTAF is going on?
@peanits @janick

Yay.
Do Slinger next.

I think it's a poor decision to make this change before we get that trial start-up phase thingy, but I can still see Pop being a meta perk.
-
If Thana gets a buff to gen penalties I'm fine with it losing out on healing time too. It'd still be very effective when combined with Sloppy and/or Ruin.

Second game. His Haunted doesn't respawn. He even specifically says they didn't do dulls because he was looking for auras with Undying.
I think what you guys experienced was a bug and it was shadow fixed in the most recent update.

@Exerlin said:
Like, what's the point of "bugfixes" like this? It's not like Iron Maiden was doing something weird and completely outside the scope of the perk like that one Wake Up bug from a while ago. It literally just helped the perk do the one thing it was made for: To punish survivors that try to utilize lockers. It may have not been an intended feature, but it made the perk more interesting and seamlessly fit into the perk's function.
The recent Surveillance "fix" is the same way. They can call it whatever they want, but it is obviously a nerf. One nerf to a useful perk that isn't ingrained in the meta, and one nerf to a perk so far outside the realm of usefulness that it fits into absolutely no one's build (like Hangman's Switch which honestly was more useful before the rework)
You have a good point about Wake Up, but I disagree that the Surveillance nerf was bad. It actually was NOT like that when it was first fixed, it only started to leave the gens white rather recently. And it is ridiculously OP as there is no way to touch a gen without the killer knowing. If I was running Ruin/Surv/Undying on Spirit you would never be able to even start a gen before I'm on you. It was rather unfair. I'm fine with it how it is, adds a fair weakness to the build.
-
I agree, it made sense as part of an add-on but not as based kit.
Also the change to Compound 21 doesn't fix the underlying issue with the add-on. It either needs a rework or a cooldown.
-
Here is a good solo teammate build:
SIDEKICK
- Kindred (You see everyone when someone is hooked. They all see each other and killer when you are hooked.)
- Aftercare (After a save/heal you see each other, if you get it on each survivor they have permanent info on what you are doing and vice versa)
- Better Together (They see when and where you are on a gen.)
- Wake Up (They see you on an exit gate.)
-
Are you saying you don't like Waluigi?
-
Sure but only if they nerf small pp killer builds.
Freddy with Swing Chains and Jump Rope.
Blight with Compound 21.
Huntress with Iri Head.
Killers have some serious BS too ya know.
-
The only killers that would get one are Legion, Oni, and Slinger. Unless they want to give one to Blight but he is already kinda that.
I want a blight outfit for Kate.
-
IMHO Compound 21 is a stupid ######### add-on.
6 meters, 2 seconds, and it should only work after the first bounce.

Ay man that sucks late at night what can you really do people are sleeping you got the weekend to look at to. Let's say you work a 9-5 you still get good queues by the time you get home. If anything play killer. You are a killer main right? If you are worried about swf I dont get it. I play a lot of late night killer it's a blast but that's just me.
No I main survivor.
Killer wait times are just fine. Survivor wait time is awful.

Late at night is always long wait time for survivors. Been like that for years. Early morning to afternoon is the best.
Doesn't change the fact there are 10 minute lobbies.
And some of us have jobs we work in the morning and afternoon.

It is definitely faster than 10 dont know what you are talking about.
Last night I sat and watched an entire YT video of Metallica live performing One waiting for a match. One is almost an 8 minute song.

Survivor queue times are faster than ever.
The game is also the easiest for killer mains it's ever been.
I mean a 10 minute wait isn't much improvement over a 15 minute wait.

Most people can't play killer because killer actually takes skill.

Is this a joke? Tru3 calls all people swf bullysquads as soon as a flashlight has been used. Also he will ignore people for the sake of tunneling others out of the game. As soon as something doesn't go according to plan or he makes some mistakes it is either "power role" or whatever it is never the wrong choice of him even when he uses exploits like I've seen a video of him where he placed beartraps in places where they clipped through the ground, laughing his ass off only to complain when he got hit with ds. Pls.
I'm just talking specifically about his opinion that getting hooks shows more skill than getting kills.
It is honestly not hard to get 4 kills.
It is pretty hard to get 4k kills and 12 hooks.
My point is that playing fair and winning shows you are a more skillful killer.
-
@Mandy said:
I know it's not sarcastic @GoodBoyKaru no worries about that. I can't see though how someone else searching a chest would affect your inputs to the struggle, even if it dropped their fps (the person who was looting the chest) it should have no effect on the person on the hooks game.
I've got a couple of people who play on Xbox so I'm checking with them as well to see if they've heard about it because I know it's not a bug report that I've ever seen etc.
It's because the game would hitch to spawn the item in the chest, which affects EVERY player in the game including killer. If a survivor is on the hook it will interrupt their inputs and they die. I've seen it like 100 times, and everyone I play with knows to not search a chest if someone is on a hook in stage 2.
@ill_Boston_lli is someone I play with all the time and he can confirm it happens. I can forward any of my friends to you as well.
If your friends say it doesn't happen then chances are they don't know about it.
Sadly I'm not even sure if I could prove it to you now because the chest search animation is changed and the game doesn't hitch when opening a chest now.
Also bloodlust makes killer's game freeze for a second the same as Sloppy.
All this stuff has been in the game for a long time. I know I've submitted bug reports of some things but they never get fixed.
EDIT: Here is a thread I made back in January about it. It got moved to bug reports and was never technically addressed.
@thesuicidefox said:
A PSA to all Xbox (and potentially PS4 players);
DO NOT SEARCH A CHEST WHEN SOMEONE IS IN PHASE 2 ON A HOOK!
You know those times where you get a lag spike and die on phase 2 because the game stop registering your input? It's because someone opened a chest on the map. When you open a chest the game drop frames, and if done while someone is on a hook it will make them die in phase 2.
This has been an ongoing problem for Xbox for some time. I suspect it is also the case on PS4 but IDK, take caution.
I would put this in bugs section but I want people to spread the word about this because it's likely getting a lot of people killed and they don't realize it.
-
The fairer you play and still win, the better a killer you are.
Fair play = skill.
Literally any killer can camp, or tunnel, or use NOED, or a mori, to get easy kills. I put on a mori and it's like I don't even have to try to win honestly. All I need is to find 1 survivor I already hooked before they get to 3 gens and I basically win the game. I don't even need to mori the rest.
If you play fair though the game is significantly more difficult. Obviously you can't play completely fair in every situation, but the more fair you can play and still win shows you are a good player.
TrueTalent focuses on hooks over kills, because he says it takes more skill to play that way and I agree. A killer that can do that and still get 3k/4k is a really good killer.

So I'm an xbox player and have been curious about something since crossplay has happened.
Do PC survivors have/know about the chest search killing a survivor whose struggling on the hook? Back a year ago when I started playing this would happen and once I found out this happened I was careful not to interact with chests while someone is struggling just in case. And for the most part it seemed like most xbox survivor's started doing the same because a month or so in this didn't really happen anymore. However since crossplay I've seen instances where this is popping up again. I can confirm at least three times where this for sure was the case because I was the survivor struggling and could see the person searching a chest which then ultimately lead to my death. Four other times where I believe this is what happened but can't confirm.
So my question is, does this happen to PC survivors? Or other console's? Was I right to assume this was something that happens to everyone or was this an exclusively xbox problem? If it is then maybe this thread can shine light on this issue once more so that our fellow fog dwellers stop killing each other for a flashlight xD
I play on Xbox and AFAIK it only happens on our platform. Also Sloppy hits will cause your game to literally freeze for a full second, and Doc can do a thing I won't mention that lags the game. All on Xbox for sure.
PC players definitely don't know about this. None of this stuff happens on PC.
If you play on PC and equip Sloppy against cross platform players you are a bad person.
Also, since they updated chests I don't think this bug can happen anymore. It's a new animation and the item is already in the chest when you open it. There's not lag spike when you open it like there was before. I haven't tried to do it while someone was in phase 2 though, so I can't be sure.

??? I only saw a single totem fully cleansed (Haunted Grounds) followed by Plague looking at a random dull totem and then doing some other stuff.
https://xboxclips.co/rei-meioh/586a8239-07c4-410b-b194-b7d73683bed7
Here's a clip taken by my friend on Xbox. It starts right after the first Haunted Grounds was cleansed (I know this because I saw it live), and you can see them cleanse another Haunted Grounds two totems later (the first one cleansed in the clip is Undying).
Survivor does totem.
Totem is Haunted.
I hit survivor to show they are Exposed.
Waste 60 seconds.
Look around only 1 lit totem, Undying.
No other lit totems. We checked (you don't see in the clip too us a few minutes to find them all).
Doesn't work.

All I can say is that the video posted shows it works, and at least one dev has come on here speaking as though it does indeed work. It doesn't matter how many posts someone has or how long they have been here; that doesn't trump video evidence and dev input.
Don't work.

Listen, if @thesuicidefox says it doesn't work on Xbox, I believe them. There's no reason for them to lie, they're not a cult leader trying to deceive the cultists or a pathological liar.
With that said, a video would be useful to get the devs' attention since we - and they - already know it works on PC.
Yea I shoulda recorded something but I didn't I was survivor so you wouldn't even see it. I'd have to do it again as killer and doing KYF is a pain in the ass.

IT.
DOES.
NOT.
WORK.

I'll record my attempt, then, because when I cleansed Haunted Ground there were still 3 totems left - it'd been transferred to another totem.
You can do that but I already tried multiple times. It didn't work. Haunted just goes like Undying doesn't even exist.

You probably cleansed Undying instead of Haunted Ground. That happened to me the first three or so times when I was helping to test it.
Ok my friend and I just tried it. I got Undying 3 times then finally got Haunted and it doesn't transfer. The totem just goes away like normal.

The hex only shifts because the totem was cleansed. Try it out for yourself if you don't believe me.
I tried it, the Exposed status doesn't proc.
-
Haunted Ground does not work with Undying. The card for HG says "when this totem is cleansed" meaning that it only procs when it is actually taken out of the game. If you destroy a totem and it shifts to a new one because Undying the Exposed status does not proc because the totem was technically not cleansed.
-
I agree on most points but having played in a DBD tournament recently, I can tell you that NOED isn't that effective.
The thing in a tournament is most teams gen rush, NOED punishes that. BUT it comes with the huge catch that survivors can usually just leave anyone caught to die. It's also only effective on maps like Lery's or Midwich that have strong totem spots.
You know what other totem is actually VERY effective in a tournament setting? Devour. On maps where NOED is effective Devour is also effective. Once you get 3 tokens you force survivors to look for the totem and if you play it right you can just 4 man slug them. It's also just as effective against gen rushers because they don't look for totems.
Other than that yea, I agree with you.
-
IMO the cage should be separate from hooks but something survivors share. So there are maybe 4 "cage" states and X amount of time between them all. Once the amount is up anyone that has torment can be mori'd.
Also yea sure, a short delay after canceling RoJ before he can swing can help too.
-
IDK I don't have this problem. I just sit up straight so I can see over the top of the screen better.
