I can play without ruin, I’m not a noob and I still disagree with the ruin changes. People ran it because they wanted some early game pressure but now ruin doesn’t do that.

My point is, 80% of the time, it doesn't give early game pressure...... wait a minute 😑 I've been looking at all of these posts from a rank 1 perspective... you know what, and I'm being sincere, I understand now that ruin must have a better success rate at low ranks. I guess the lower ranked killers that aren't competent enough yet must have seen ruin work much better against unskilled survivors.

P.S. I never said I agree with the ruin change, read the post again. I said people are complaining for the wrong reasons.

PEOPLE, remember how we used to complain about Hex totems being out in the open and survivors spawning right on top of them? Go back to complaining about that.

  • @Mr_K said:

80% of red ranks are baby killers.

    🤔

"Baby" is a jab at the people crying about the change. I think they are crying for the wrong reasons. I can assure you that there are a lot of red rank killers are competent enough to not cry.

  • @DBD78 said:

That 30-60 seconds Ruin is up makes all the difference. Without it by the time you get to the gen two people working on it with toolboxes they finish it, and when you down and hook one of them another gen is finished so first guy hooked 3 gens left. With Ruin working almost a minute same scenario you hook that guy and still 5 gens left for the survivors.

That is why Ruin is so strong and why killers depend on it.

My point is that ruin, as it is, is not dependable.

I run corrupt with a superior success rate compared to a totem that can be destroyed in seconds.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/121076/what-you-all-forgot-about-ruin

Right.....so....because killers shouldn't use the hex because its bad(And I agree).....thats reason to make it worse? Failing to understand your logic on this one.....

Where did I say that's reason to make it worse?

  • @Quol said:

Killers have no form of early game pressure. Survivors all spawn away from the killer, at full health and can jump right onto gens without worry. Ruin was used as a form of early game pressure to slow down the survivors while the killer builds his own momentum. Its not meant to slow down the entire match and the fact that you thought thats why so many used it tells me more about you than the killers.

I can assure you 80% of red rank killers are not baby killers. You can also see usage in Corrupt Intervention increasing because its the only other early game slow down.

Did you even read the post? I said 80% of my matches the totem is found and destroyed in 30-60 sec. That has nothing to do with the competence of the killer. That's a reflection on how I think ruin is terribly inconsistent, because it is a totem.

As a matter of fact, I do believe corrupt is far more superior and I find I have a much higher success rate.

"Baby" is merely a jab at the killers that are crying about the change. I think they are complaining for the wrong reasons.

  • @TheFreak1012 said:

I main killer but I never thought ruin was as good as people say it was. I think it's kinda funny you're going off complaining about things only noobs are saying XD

The sad part is you're probably right lol

I didn't bother to take that into consideration, I guess everyone who's complaining about the ruin change are more than likely noobs.

  • @sulaiman said:

So, what you say is that ruin doesnt matter because its gone soon in the game anyway. Why needed it a change then? Can you explain?

Pfffff, don't ask me, ask the devs lol

I couldn't care any less, either way, about the change, because I don't use ruin. It's terribly inconsistent, because it's a totem.

  • @Bigbootiejudy666 said:

Don´t you just reading players complain about complaining? Oh the sweet Irony

That's why I wrote the last line.

  • @GodDamn_Angela said:

Most people who are complaining about losing its slow down potential are complaining because it, at times, gave them a little bit of a buffer in the beginning of the game to get things rolling. It gave them a little extra time to find the first survivor before the first gen popped. Now they don't feel like they have that (though Corrupt Intervention can kind of do the same thing. 🤷)

I never play with Ruin as Killer. I rarely play Killer at all. But at least I'm willing to listen to those who are upset about the loss without calling them names and dismissing their concerns.

That's why I run corrupt, because it's consistent and gives me that much time to get the pressure on.

  • I really like this game overall and I like new content, but I would LOVE it if they took a short break from making new content just to iron out everything to make it all generally run smoothly, i.e. hits through pallets/windows, queue times, bugs...

  • I stopped running ruin about 3 months ago, because it's soo unreliable. I usually run corrupt and pop now. I have a 75% success rate of a 4k and that's being modest. If I don't 4k, who cares, ggwp start another match.... it's just a game.

  • R.I.P. my beloved balanced landing 😭

  • I'll sometimes dc to give the other person hatch.

  • I trust that the dev's will fix and add a lot of things.

I would like to see match making get reverted. Watch Ohtofu's video on YouTube on why it's so important for the health of the game. He just posted it a day or so ago.

  • But the dark sense 4 gen was f**king BS and I got really lucky my 3rd attempt.

Maybe it's ez if you are SWF, but I'm solo queue.

Be at 4/5 of the finished gens.... really? Are you f**king kidding me? 😡

  • @Karl_Childers said:

Sounds like a meta perk for campers. Stand in front of a hook and now when one gen pops, no others can be worked on. No thanks lol.

Like many other suggestions around here that have to do with gens, campers (and tunnelers) need to be accounted for.

    Good point, great point actually.

  • 60 sec. seems a bit much, but some testing would confirm it is a bit much or approve it.

  • Pffffff... it's called macro key binding, people, catch up with the times...

  • I played both as him and against him and have no doubt that he's a bit too strong, but hey, if most people think he's fine the way he is, I have no problem whatsoever playing as him every match and 3-4k every time lol

See you in the fog ;)

i am sorry that you misunderstood that poll.

i was not trying to only ask the "nerf spireh!" community, this was a poll for everyone to participate in. if i ask "what mekes charakter X too strong?" i need to provide you with the ability to say "huh, but character X isnt even too strong...".

thats because not everyone has the same opinion on the same topic, so if one makes a poll, they need to try to allow every opinion to be voiced. in this case, even though i asked what made her too strong, there had to be the possibility to say "she is not", otherwise i'd leave out a part of the playerbase.

this would also make the poll look like its only ment to show how "op the killer is" (therefore being biased towards one side and not neutral), since everyone who voted, voted for something that was too strong on her, without being open for discussion (which is why the last part was specifically added - to make sure ppl who dislike spirit and ppl who like her dont try to kill each other in the comments here / to distance myself from such behavior)

    now, regarding your second post:

no, she is in fact not being reworked.

a rework would mean a full on power overhaul, like it happened with Freddy. in this case, there is just a nerf coming up for her - actually with most of the things that players in this poll voted for being unfun, like collision and Prayer Beads Bracelet.

PS: since you complained about there being an option to say spirit was fair and balanced: 71% of the players voting in this poll said she was too strong. this option only underlined the communities believe that she was too strong, as even the players who said she was fine only made 29% of the overal votes, showing that a vast majority of the players didnt like the killer the way she is right now.

Oops... yep, I ment nerfed, not reworked haha thx

Good, I'm very glad and you understood and I'm happy to see the devs listen and respond to their wonderful community :)

  • Aaaaaaadddddddddddd they just now announced she's getting reworked Lol

    Boom goes the dynamite.

  • @Mister_xD said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/833530#Comment_833530

this pole is ment for everyone to give their opinion on the spirit.

this includes both sides, the Survivors and the Killers, i will not be excluding one side, otherwise this poll would be biased and no longer represend the communitys opinion on the killer.

some like her, some dislike her. thats fine, thats what the "i think spirit is fine" option is there for, to show that you disagree with all the hate on the killer.

just as you have your opinion, please accept other peoples opinion on this matter aswell.

not everyone thinks she is OP, as this poll shows. saying the opinion from those players would be invalid is just wrong and heavily biased.

You said you designed this poll to find out why player have a problem with her.

"since i saw a huge increase of Spirit hate lately, i got curious on what the community thinks is too strong on her.

due to that, i decided to make this poll and see what the main problem is that people have with her."

Therefore, killer mains, especially Spirit ones, don't "Spirit hate", have no problem with her, and are more likely to be bias. You see the problem now?

But it's not your fault, it would be impossible to get something that specific to be accurate on an internet forum.

    Secondly you said,

"please keep in mind to be respectfull towards each other. if you disagree with someones opinion thats fine, but please accept it as their own opinion and dont hate on them."

Nothing in my post was disrespectful, nor did I hate on or disagree with anyone's opinion.

The way this poll is worded, I merely pointed out it will not accurately depict the "people who thinks she's to strong" community.

    Thoughts?

  • The problem with this poll is that the people who play as her are also voting.

This poll is directed toward survivors.

The Spirits problem is that her power gives almost no feedback at all, so counter play is guesswork.

I'm not saying ALL of the "she's fine" votes are from killers, but MOST of the "she's fine" voters are people that play her and don't want a rework.

Just wow, I can't believe that there are people who advocate to ignore racism. The internet is not an unlawful space.

    @then4321

It is sad to read that, I received the same email for reporting death threats made against me and my family with actually people explaining that they visit the country I live in frequently and how they will hunt me down etc... i looked the player up a few months later, no game ban on the profile or anything so I guess the person didn't reach his threshold yet disappointing to say the least.

That is terrifying, I'm also sorry to hear that.

  • @RakimSockem said:

It's amazing how many people are casually excusing racism in this thread alone.

Words do matter, especially if they have a racist history attached to them. Something that might be "just a word" to you (I hope the people saying the n word is "just a word" are Black, because otherwise I worry that yall probably use it yourselves) can hold a lot more significance to someone else.

It really is amazing. I am shocked how many people have commented, basically "who cares?"

Oh, you never get any sort of feedback from those. I'm willing to bet that was either his first offense (which is why you saw him a bit later), or your report hasn't been gotten to yet and he's about to get a pretty big punishment. I know that they used to ban DCers in waves, and they might do the same for people like this. This might be a good question to ask a mod like @MandyTalk though

Okay, I will keep an eye out, thank you.

  • @Mandy said:

We certainly do not tolerate racism and providing things are reported people do get punished - please be aware, that this is initially on a temporary basis on an increasing scale until a permanent ban is reached.

I can assure you that we take all reports of this matter very seriously. And as always I urge everyone to use the In Game Report system (this is MANDATORY, and we cannot act on reports without this being made), you may then use the Additional Player Report section of the support form to forward any additional evidence you might have:

    https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=191426

I'm very sorry that this has happened and caused you distress.

Thank you for your concern and feedback. I read the banning time steps that are taken before it is made permanent.

I hope that, even if the first ban wasn't activated, the second instance of hate speech will be taken into consideration.

The OP isn’t blaming BHVR for another players actions or words. They’re simply expressing a very valid concern whether BHVR supports or ignores racism. They obviously DON’T tolerate racism, but it’s natural for the OP to question this if they’ve made a few reports against the same player, provided evidence, and is yet to get an outcome.

    This is correct.

  • @Exerlin said:

They do ban people for using slurs like that in post-game chat. You just need to use the in-game report function, and it'll save the chat log and the player's ID and attach that information to the report. Sounds like you used their website to report it, and I don't think that's ever been the way to report in-game hate speech.

I used the in-game report in both instances.

  • I play normally, unless survivors bring 2 or more Bloody Party Streamers, then I'll see if they wanna farm.

  • It depends, survivors either boop in the beginning of the match or at the end.

If it's in the beginning, I give them a pass, then resume usual game play.

If they are the last survivor, they didn't play like a d-bag, and they give me a lil boop... I usually give them hatch or the exit gate.

If they were an a-hole survivor, t-bagging or whatever, they can forget about it, I'm watching that trap snap lol

  • Just throwing this out there... how about the killer can still see all the offerings, but the survivors can only see what other survivors bring, this might stop teammates from disconnecting when they see a mori or a map offering the killer brought... idk

    Thoughts?

  • Everyone stop saying Legion, or else they'll buff him/her lol

  • I ment to vote yes...

  • I would like to play survivor more, but ever since dedicated servers, my queue wait times for survivor are around 6-10 min day and night.

  • Look at it this way, acquiring licensed content brings in fans of that content. Which means more money for the people who create DbD. More money, more employees, more bug fixes, new content, more DbD all together.

If you're not a fan of more Dead by Daylight, what the heck are you doing on the forum lol

P.S. I don't think I would be a Shaun main, but more content is always welcome in my eyes.

  • Just points and having fun.

  • I can see why you're upset, I like the fast oink oink too :( but I think they did it so the survivors have a fraction less time to react to her charge.

  • The North American Oregon servers feel pretty good on both killer and survivor side, I live close by them.

My only issue is the queue wait time. To be killer, it's usually pretty good, but sometimes it can get up to around 8 minutes. To be survivor, on the other hand, regardless of the time of day or night, it's always 6-15 minutes. My only guess is we have a shortage of killers on our server.

Could you look into some sort of cross server connection to get a wider selection of players?

  • @kaeru said:

Why do you hate Pig? I don't care about you making Pig's killing abilities worse. I guess you have a reason. But why did you nerf her oinking ability? That is one only thing making her FUN to play! Is that a personal animosity to Saw copyright holders? Or maybe to some Pig main twitch streamer? Please, bring shorter time between dash attack sounds back!

I'm baffled by your statement as well, my piggy still oinks.

  • @WTBacon said:

    How about we add this?

When unhooking a survivor, you and the unhooked survivor gain a 5/6/7% haste status effect for 10 seconds.

So it's like a short duration Hope. Would really help with basement unhooks, I think.

This is actually not a bad idea, as long as it doesn't stack with Hope.

I never said anything about all four survivors, either. I've yet to see a match, even during bloodhunt events, where all four are running WGLF. It's not an extremely common perk. My point was simply that there's no reason to make the activation conditions more difficult. It's okay to have perks that stronly encourage particular playstyles - in fact, I would even go so far as to say that it's vastly preferable to the alternative. I will always maintain that variety in gameplay is far more important than efficiency.

Your opinion, but an opinion nonetheless. It's good that you said all of that. It helps show the difference of what people like and disregard. After all, variety may not win all the time, but it sure as heck keeps us away from tedium ;)

  • @Fibijean said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/768994#Comment_768994

I know that dailies focus on one activity - hence why I said that your suggestion of four different activation requirements was like four dailies in one. But to be fair, as you say, dailies are typically a bit more difficult than one generator, so it would be more accurate to say that your suggestion is the equivalent of half of four different dailies in one match, which is still an unnecessarily difficult bar to clear.

I'm guessing that you either don't play much survivor, or play super efficiently at top ranks. Either way, you seem a bit out of touch with what is actually achievable for the average survivor. Most people don't complete a full generator and rescue and teammate and heal someone to full health and get chased for 60 seconds in a single match. It sounds reasonable in theory, but in practice it just doesn't work that way for most players. Survivors don't get many bloodpoints as it is, there's no need to make it even more difficult than it already is for them to use a perk that boosts their earnings.

Well, I can say you hit the nail on the head. I play both killer and survivor at high ranks and in my experience, an efficient team consists of players that can contribute adequately in all areas or excel in some. Playing with people that can handle a bit of everything is better than someone putting on wglf as it is now and playing overly altruistic.

Also, the change would help the average player become more versed, naturally rank them up and grow to be an above average, or even expert survivor.

I didn't say all four players in every match will get four pips with the new change, but with how it is now, I can't think of a single game where all four players maxed out wglf, now that would be damn near impossible.

  • @Fibijean said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/768010#Comment_768010

That's almost the equivalent of four daily rituals in one match. That would make it insanely difficult to get all four stacks, and it's enough of a challenge as it is.

    Not really, no.

First of all, dailies focus on one thing, eg. repair the equivalent of 3 full gens.

Secondly, these are just things you should automatically always be able to do in a match, if you can't, then oof...

  • I just think wglf should have the four pips be dedicated to different stipulations.

Repair the equivalent of one gen, pip.

    Safely rescue a survivor, pip.

Heal the equivalent of one health state on any survivor, pip.

Be in chase for total of 60 seconds, pip.

  • Depending on how one looks at it, I must be reeeeeallly lucky, more luck than anyone in the world... or unlucky in my eyes, because my p3's are gushing with very and ultra. Consistently 6-7 purple and 2 red. My p0's are consistently 2 purple and 1 red.

You can say whatever you want, it's not going to change the fact that this IS what's happening to me.

I couldn't disagree more. It absolutely affects the bloodweb. I've pumped tens of millions of blood points at all levels of prestige across killers and survivors alike and there is a very visibly noticeable and mathematically provable difference.
