According to killer mains on the forums and killer mains on YouTube, legion is actually a bad killer. Despite just about every soloQ survivor saying they would rather die on first hook than play the game out.

I think they were saying it before the patch. Never heard that after the patch. But if you have a link to a video made after the patch, I'd be interested in watching.

  • @RenRen said:

If you ignore the fact that the survivors aren't bringing the sweatiest stuff and they managed to get to 1 gen, then yeah, it's not exactly fun for the survivors. Also I see that it's macmillian but what macmillian map? Cause there's a pretty big difference between coal tower and ironworks.

It was coal tower. What is considered sweatiest stuff now? I don't think even 4 BNPs with max charge toolboxes would change the outcome. I don't think that if they managed to finish 2 gens instead of 1, it would make significant difference in the fact that the current legion slowdown meta is utterly broken.

  • @Pepsidot said:

Not sure if I'm allowed to call out a bug (because I guess it's technically an exploit if you use it intentionally?) but some of your combination of perks are apparently bugged and bugged in a way that benefits the killer a lot more. Hopefully it's fixed soon...

You mean there is something in addition to Fuming Mix Tape that is supposed to regress gens not being worked on, but actually doesn't do it in this build?

  • @foxsansbox said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3083494#Comment_3083494

So I played a fairly sweaty build that included perpetual frenzy addons, discordance, and thana. If you believe your build is that much sweatier than mine, then sure, you got your easy win -> But then you're just like the survivors I was describing who wanted it more.

I'm not sure I understand your comment. Yes, I consider build with 4 gen slowdowns absolutely sweatiest. You wasted perk slot on Discordance. Smart survivors would make it useless.

  • @foxsansbox said:

At least two people told me to try Legion with his mean stuff on before I pass judgement, so I did. About 10 games in, it's a mix. I have absolutely won and absolutely lost and the only difference between the two was how bad the survivors wanted to win.

At the end of the day, if the team splits up, legion is an M1 killer who cannot use his power to down at loops.

Try exactly my build. Prioritize kicking gens over looping. Only down people who are out positioned. You will be surprised what standing around gen for 25 seconds and doing nothing does to their progress.

  • @Roaroftime said:

Soon as health bar turns yellow and that thanatophobia icon appears its straight out the fire exit door ain't no way i'm staying for that its either death on first hook or DC if some annoying Jill tries saving me and prolonging my boredom, rather spend 5 mins getting a coffee than 5 mins slugged by a legion lmao

Yeah, understandable. I do the same. But these survivors fought to the bitter end. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to illustrate that current legion meta needs a nerf.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Why would you bring Frank's Mix Tape with Fuming Mix Tape. That makes no sense.

Because Fuming Mix Tape is bugged. Gens do not regress. I actually had to kick them. Try this combo yourself. I don't know of there is bug report about it already.

How is a car's engine blowing up the same thing as a patch in a video game? You keep repeating I'm making stuff up and that's your comparison point?

Both are single issue. You said that it's somehow not valid to make review based on single issue. So you go ahead and tell me more about this magic rule.

  • @Ryuhi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3083282#Comment_3083282

review bombing is when you take a single issue with a game and organize people to give a game bad reviews specifically because of it, and specifically when its a timely issue. It should never be a single issue leading reviews of an entire game, but it especially should have a boycott mentality behind it. Like i said, its throwing a tantrum because you're not getting your way, and trying to create a mob mentality to use as backup.

You are making stuff up again. Tell, where is that rules or law that says you can't base review on single issue? If I review a car and say the engine blew up after a thousand miles, is that somehow invalid review because it's based only on engine, but door handles are still working?

You are also making stuff up and showing your prejudice talking about mob mentality. If you like it, it's community mentality. If you hate it, it's mob mentality. See how easy it is to show your prejudice?

  • @Ryuhi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3083245#Comment_3083245

This is what i don't understand. being annoyed with changes is perfectly understandable, but review bombing is straight up throwing a tantrum. Both sides have certainly had their share of dark times and game breaking bugs, but this reaction is peak entitlement. Reviews are supposed to be based on your overall experience, not a current state of a shifting game. You can include that information in a review, but thats not the same at all.

" Reviews are supposed to be based on your overall experience, not a current state of a shifting game." - actually, that's just something you made up. Reviews are supposed to be based on current state. What's the point of basing review on something that is no longer true?

So, that's not review bombing. That's just honest description of current state of things.

Chases were entertaining to people because they required no effort on the survivor's part and they could greed pallets for free. Now that they can't they're throwing a fit instead of actually learning how to loop, chases are still a thing and if anything more rewarding because you know you're actually outplaying the killer now.

Longer gens are a bit of an issue but a thana reversion fixes that.

The reason why chases were entertaining doesn't change the fact that the entertainment value is lost. The end result is the same: entertainment product should be entertaining.

"instead of actually learning how to loop" - looping requires resources. Pallets are gone faster now. Without pallets and with increased bloodlust any noob can bloodlust themselves to a kill. Also, a lot of looping relied on mind games. With IW nerf, there is no mindgaming someone with headphones.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3083210#Comment_3083210

Cool, you just explained why so many people didnt bother with the killer role for so long. also why so many left the game after CoH was introduced.

No need to make up stuff. People didn't leave in mass when COH was introduced. Survivor queue time didn't increase. Entertainment value in being a killer is being in chases. COH didn't reduce killer time in chase. Now, imagine if they added 10 second hook cooldown, when all you could do is just stand without moving wiping your weapon.. That would surely make people leave.

  • @Xendritch said:

    Pretty silly to me.

People would rather cry than learn how to do skill checks and do gens efficiently.

It's an entertainment product. Chases were entertaining and they are now shorter. Gens were not entertaining and they are now longer. A game is not a job and should not have increased parts that are not fun.

Killers still played when dead hard was a thing, your point?

I won 70% of my killer games when dead hard was a thing. Now I win 90%. Your point?

  • @Ryuhi said:

its just the usual review bomb tactic. Why people put more effort into that than actually adapting to patches is beyond me.

The only way to adapt to something that is no longer fun is to find something else that is fun. It's an entertainment product, not a job. People are adapting by switching to killer or not playing any longer.

Like if a manufacturer sold you a car that is very unreliable. Do you adapt by:

    a) fixing it all the time?

    b) switching to another brand?

I don't know about you, but I don't need to spend my entertainment time being frustrated. That's counterproductive.

Did it, though? I am not experiencing killer queues longer then 5min during my evening play times and in a weeks time things might adjust a bit, when more and more survivor mains get back into their roles after coping with the changes. I haven't experienced a 20min killer queue, yet.

My formerly instant evening queue time is now 2 minutes on average. And people are still trying to do survivor side rift. I haven't been able to do the one "Survive while 1 other survivor escapes as Jonah..." because I haven't been in a single match where more than 1 person survived after trying for half a day. I gave up eventually and switched to killer.

Unfortunately nothing the devs do will stop a bad teammate being bad. You can be the best looper, the most altruistic teammate, the best gen jockey out there, but if even one of your teammates is doing nothing you can’t win because it’s a 4v1 and not a 3v1 or 1v1.

Ohhh, it's actually very easy to make bad teammates avoidable. It was possible before when we had ranks displayed. Everyone knew that rank 10 teammate doesn't belong in rank 1 lobby. And it can be made avoidable now if MMR is displayed or SBMM made stricter.

I agree, I never used ds before but wanted to see how bad it is now. Every game is an absolute joke as a solo. I'm trying killer and if that sucks, then the game is gone

Killer is easy breathy beautiful now. I was losing about 30% of my matches before the patch. Now it's about 10%. Try STBFL if you want 5 second chases. It stacks with the hit cool down buff.

  • @FriendlyKiller said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3082511#Comment_3082511

That's my whole point. Before this you could pretty much count on at least one survivor being on a gen at all times.

So what happened? It's not like it's impossible to win as survivor you just have to actually, y'know, try

They reduced fun parts (chases) and increased unfun parts (gens). Why are you surprised that people don't want to just M1 all game against 4 slowdown guaranteed loss?

  • @Sumnox said:

Don't worry, they will Behaviour this update even further in the future.

What they're probably going to do, is pull off a Behaviour move. A Behaviour move in this case will be something like:

"We are VERY proud of the last patch we released and we would like to congratulate ourselves for the work we have done. As always, we clearly have addressed most issues and most complaints. However, since we are near perfect, but not quite, there have been unwanted side effects of this perfect patch we released. So, now, we are increasing the basekit Endurance and Haste effect from 5 to 6 and a half seconds. Simultaneously, we will be buffing Prove Thyself from 15% increase speed to 15,8% speed. While you might think these changes might be too strong, we will be monitoring the effects they cause carefully."

    Get Behavioured, goodbye.

😆 This is perfect! I'm saving it for future reference. Why did I read it in Otzdarva voice?

DC/suiciding might be part of the game but it's still really ignorant. As it's been mentioned already, players shouldn't be playing survivor if they're gonna resort to that.

How is it ignorant to use game mechanics? Luck offerings and Slippery Meat perk are part of the game. Also, I'm bad at hitting skill checks when not having fun.

  • @BenSanderson55 said:

I'm with you. Too often in life people (excuse the language) let other people, companies, governments, you name it, f*ck them in the ass and just give in. If there's a huge increase of DCs and suicides this will show dbd they have a problem on their hands & to fix it sooner than later, the more players that just give in aka "That's life" perpetuate that they're okay with being screwed over. Remember your dcing/suciding teammates arent screwing you over the company is..

Thank you. Finally someone who understands that people should not be pushovers .

Also, luck mechanic is still I game. I'm not suiciding, I'm trying my luck and then failing skillchecks.

But you should have respect for your teammates and stay in the game no matter what.

    Why?

  • No. Both Eruption and Overcharge just got buffed.

  • How about this simple example: Eruption

SWF: "Going down!" Everyone stops doing gens for a moment. Eruption doesn't give 25 second incapacitated. And killer doesn't know that anyone is on gen.

Solo: People stand around and do nothing for 25 seconds.

Want another one? Call of Brine and Overcharge

SWF: "Killer is chasing me and my gen is regressing. It's at blabla". Another survivor comes and stops regression.

    Solo: Gen is regressing...

  • Laziness? LOL. Just to be clear, we are talking about videogame here, not a job or a chore. I don't know if you are aware, but some people play to have fun. Yeah, yeah, I know hard to believe. Not gonna waste my time on something not fun.

  • I think he refers to 3 year old data

    @Peanits said:

Earlier this week, we asked you what statistics you would like to see. Since then, we have collected data on some of the most popular requests and designed some fancy graphics for them. There are a few things to note:

    • This data does not include the recent PTB.
    • Data involving rank was collected shortly before a rank reset (April 1st to April 7th).
    • These are very general statistics, so use caution before drawing any conclusions.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/719/CPIDC1XE8JBT.jpg

    Average Party Size

This is the overall average, between all ranks and platforms, of how many other Survivors players are queuing up with. More than half of the total Survivors are playing solo, while only 3-6% are playing in a full Survive With Friends group. This is based on the group size out of the total number of matches.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/771/II0BH5BS6HP0.jpg

    Party Size Survival Rate

This is the average chance of Survival per Survivor depending on the size of the Survive With Friends group they are playing in. This is an average between all ranks on all platforms.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/270/X1L1JQEBEOMA.jpg

    Survival Rate by Rank

This graph shows the average rate of survival per Survivor at any given rank, per platform. Please note: The data collected is using your rank after the match, so players who depipped from rank 1 down to rank 2 would appear as rank 2 for our purposes. This is likely the reason why you'll notice a large gap between the survival rate of rank 1 and rank 2: Players who survived were more likely to pip and maintain their rank, while those who died were more likely to depip and lose their rank.

This data was also collected between April 1st and April 7th, after the pipping thresholds were originally changed but before they were later tweaked to be more forgiving for Survivors. Because of that, the statistics at this rank are from a small sample size consisting solely of the best players that could maintain rank 1 with the strict pipping conditions.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/198/WJGATDU9GIYC.jpg

    Average Game Length

This graph shows the average game length at any given rank for each platform. This is the time from the start of the match until the final Survivor either escapes or is sacrificed.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/103/8BOLFYNH0D9I.jpg

    Most Popular Killer by Rank

This chart shows which Killer is the most popular depending on rank, per platform. For example, on PC from rank 1-4, nurse is the most popular Killer, while Hillbilly tends to be more popular from rank 5-12. The highest overall usage for any Killer at a given rank is the Nurse at rank 1, coming in at 22.39%.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/398/4A494UUNC0WZ.jpg

    Highest and Lowest Kill Rates

This chart shows the deadliest (yellow) and least deadly (red) Killers per platform. These stats are an average for all ranks. Since there are four Survivors, a 50% kill rate equates to two Survivors escaping and two Survivors dying.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/928/2YVQMEWUS0KN.jpg

    Most Used Perks (Survivor)

This chart shows the most popular Survivor perks based on rank ranges between all platforms. We decided not to display ranks 13-20 as they tend to be more random (newer, lower ranked players tend to use whichever perks they have rather than picking what they want specifically). The numbers displayed are the percentage that perk is used of all perks used at that rank.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/781/T8VE1J9V3G07.jpg

    Most Used Perks (Killer)

This chart shows the most popular Killer perks based on rank ranges between all platforms. Like the Survivor perks above, we decided not to show ranks 13-20. The number displayed are a percentage of the total perks used at that rank range.

Is there something that confuses you? Maybe you'd like to know a more precise number on one of these stats? I'll be doing a live Q&A in the official Dead by Daylight Discord server tomorrow at 2PM EST.

If you are not in the Official Discord server, you can join here: https://discord.gg/549m9NT

The Q&A will take place in the #game-discussion channel.

If you don't immediately see someone in the surrounding area, just walk away and search the rest of the map. You shouldn't need an incentive to not play boring

If you can't find anyone during your patrolling and the person gets unhooked, then go back and see if you can find the unhooker or the unhooked person. Ain't that hard

I guess you didn't read the post you replied to. Searching the map is precisely what I find boring, which is what I'm trying to avoid.

  • @fulltonon said:

Just lose games and you'll match with people who don't need to tunnel.

I feel like y8ou didn't read the post you replied to. I don't need help winning. I win most games no problem. I end up tunneling and proxy camping unintentionally with the new gen slowdown meta.

If you would play your old style I would slap on Dragons Grip. Now survivors have to choose to interrupt Call of brine and be exposed, or let the gen regress to avoid it..pretty fun 😀

But hey you want to move around and sadly Ruin, Tinkerer, BBQ that got killers moving have all been nerfed. I know you don't want to use BBQ anymore but with the new Lethal Pursuer giving you 2 seconds longer on all aura perks I find it fun to use Lethal, BBQ, Darkness Revealed, Jolt. Find survivors a lot and let Jolt do it's thing it's great on Nurse anyway. Otherwise not the strongest build but hey it's something else.

Holy ####! I just tried exactly what you advised and it was very funny, but survivors didn't like it. I didn't camp hooks, I camped gens, LOL I thought gens wouldn't mind being camped, but apparently it's also bad 😏

No wonder killer queue so long with those BP gains.

Sometimes its fine to tunnel or camp, don't play the Survivor Rulebook for Killers. (There isn't one for survivors) Its good to learn other skills as well, but sometimes if you know the enemy team is being altruistic or you have a chance to take someone out of the game, do it.

My time is better spent having fun. Camping is boring. Videogame is not a job and blood points are not money. You do you.

Wow! That's a fun idea to try! I tried dragons before, but gave up on because no one touched gens after first time, so it was a waste of perk slot. Will be great to try with CofB!

Dude - tunnelling someone out the game asap is the only way to create sustained pressure on the rest of the team.

I would agree with you before the patch, but now it's an easy mode anyway. I tried Spirit with the speed add on and STBFL and now that Noone is running IW, chases are so easy.

Plenty of perks encourage you to leave the hook. Gift of pain is a pretty massive debuff now if you leave the survivor alone to be healed. Monstrous shrine deletes people pretty quickly although it's probably optimal to proxy camp with it.

Darkness revealed, thrilling tremors, discordance, tinkerer, etc etc.

Call of brine + brutal is for a 3 gen playstyle which is conductive towards camping so maybe reconsider your entire build?

Darkness Revealed felt like a waste with huntress of a slot on some maps, so I gave up on it. Maybe better with other Killers?

Discordance is also hit and miss, depending on survivors. Smart swf figures it out in the first minute.

Tinkered used to be my favorite, but with nerf... blah.. only 5 times per match.

Thrilling. That may be worth trying again!

  • @weirdkid5 said:

If you notice that there are other survivors around you when you hook, that's their fault for keeping you around the hook, that's not camping. If they unhook in your face and you decide to go after the one they unhooked, that's not tunneling, that's punishing a bad play. If you aren't near the hook but you find the injured survivor soon after the unhook, that's not tunneling, you're going after an opportunity. If you feel bad about it, just slug them instead of hooking them. I call out Killers for camping, but mostly out of salt and an enjoyment for smack-talk, but people can play however they want.

These terms are made up by Survivors to make Killers feel bad about the way they play. Mostly because Survivors tend to be overly altruistic and end up causing their own downfall, yet decide to blame it on the Killer.

If you really don't want to be called out with surface level insults based on how you play, I recommend using something like Darkness Revealed, possibly combined with Lethal Purserer, with a Killer with strong map presence, like Blight, Nurse, Hillbilly, or Dredge. BBQ is still great, personally I never used it for the BP as when I did use it, I already had everything I wanted.

The problem stems from the majority of Killers having no map presence, so you have to take opportunities where you can get them. That's just how the game is designed.

"Darkness Revealed, possibly combined with Lethal Purserer" - thank you. I tried DR on huntress, but only saw people 3 - 4 times in entire match, so I gave up on it. Combo with new LP is definitely interesting to try.

After you hook as survivor you turn around and then you hold w/forward and look for another survivor.

Your officially a pro noncamper congrats!!!!!

Except I specifically said that increasing time not being in chase is not an option.

  • @AReallyBoredHuman said:

Maybe you should try running scourge hook: floods of rage, its an aura reading perk from the Onryo, where everytime a survivor is unhooked from a scourge hook it reveals auras of every survivor apart from the one on hook, that would make it easier to stop tunnelling, it also pairs great with make your choice.

Discordance is another good option because it works across the entire map however only works when there are two or more survivors on a gen.

Thank you. That's the best idea so far!

Deathgarden had a lot of problems, most pertaining to making a game that was competing with thier main product. Also the dent it would take to remove the survivor population that it would cause Killer queues to be as long as old Survivor queues would take A LOT.

It's already happened. I've never ever in the past 3 years had evening killer queue that was longer than 10 seconds. Yesterday, it was 1 m 40 sec. The process has started. It doesn't take that much revenue loss to start laying off developers -> less new content -> even less sales -> and the circle is now downward spiral. Read history of Blackberry, to see how missteps and over confidence can lead to demise.

    Forgot step 8 9 10

    8 new patch

9 more players come back lowering q times

10 more money is spent repete step 1-10

Almost like the cycle you've been in for the past 5 ish years

There is never been a single time in the past 6 years when 1 side was nerfed into the ground and the other buffed into stratosphere.

Also, see how much patches helped Deathgarden when people started leaving.

  • Steps that will follow:

    1. Survivors loosing their mind
    2. Survivors play less
    3. Killer q goes up
    4. Killers play less
    5. Less people spend money
    6. Game support ends (See Deathgarden for reference, also made by BHVR)
    7. Bye

Your Assumptions are morally and technically bankrupt. You swallow devs' propaganda even tho it left the grind in the worse place than it was.

without assuming anything - ALL of my games, excluding those where ppl disconnect previously ended up with 23-32k BP. Literally never lower. Obviously always it was doubled due to bbq (still excluding disconnects)

Now I end up with 23-35k. I did not manage to go above 36k a single time, even if the game took 20+ minutes.

The change with 10k per category is completely irrelevant. Incentives do not work. When they start working again, you will be forced to play role you do not want to play in order to progress at non-nightmarish pace. Is it really better than forcing you to play with a particular perk? Sorry but no.

Did you reply to wrong person or something? That's literally what I said in another message.

A minute isn't too bad of a wait. Before the last anniversary event it usually took several mins for a survivor lobby to pop, and the max 5mins for a killer lobby.

My normal evening wait is 5 seconds. I just timed last match: 1 m 40 sec.

This is not how it was during last rifts. Either matchmaking is different or survivors are quitting. We'll probably find out in a few weeks.

  • Same. My evening queue time was practically instant. Now I have to wait about a minute to find lobby. And every single match is a sweat fest. I still rarely lose, but I have to sweat with 4 gen slowdown perk and play in the most unfun ways (tunneling/slugging/camping).

This is not fun. Where did the chill evening matches go?

Hi there! I play mostly Myers when I do play killer XD and sorry for this very delayed reply. My settings were off and I only check when I get email notifications. Anyway, long story cut short, does your offer still kindly stand?

Oh and with the new update just released yesterday, it would be nice to just have another homie to play with so looking forward to your reply :)

My offer still stands. I usually play between 9:30 and midnight PST.

    • I never said people get a base max 40k, I said the base bloodpoints max per match were increased from 32k to 40k. And your assumption that this won't increase bloodpoints per match is bad, even in matches where someone in the old system didn't get literally 8k in all 4 categories it's EXTREMELY likely that they got 8k in at least 1-3 categories. And in those cases they now would be getting more than 8k because they wouldn't be hitting that cap.
    • I'm not assuming that ALL people are interested in playing both sides, but I am assuming that A LOT of people play both sides. In which case they have that option available to get quite a lot of extra bloodpoints (those bonuses appear to be pretty hefty because they're multipliers on top of your offering bonus and event bonuses and other player offerings)
    • Sure, there are people who have 1 main and that's it. There are also a ton of people who play a lot more than that.

So no, there's not "nothing left", stop being an ASS about it.

LOL. So you changes your assumptions to made up statistics about "A LOT" of people. How is it relevant to the people who are not part of "A LOT"?

It's like if I stole $1000 from you and said: "There are a lot of millionaires in the world to whom such a small amount wouldn't make much difference". Technically true, but completely irrelevant and absolutely useless knowledge to the person who lost the money.
