Oni
A massive wall of muscle roaring in the distance then you hear it getting closer with his heavy footsteps

No maps weren't shrunk long walls still exist buildings are still ultra safe and sometimes you can still get double pallets (rarely tho)

i agree for the time as killer but as survivor we talk about 30 and more minutes for every game
You must be a low rank survivor or something because I don't wait that long

I never saw a difference instant to almost instant killer lobbies and 2-5 min survivor lobbies

1. Killers complain endlessly about SWF being overrated and survivors OP.
2. Devs showed 4 man SWF does not even hit 50%.
Ergo, killers feel 40% survival for solos and 49% for 4 SWF is OP.
If those stats include console then it's wrong already not to mention those stats are pretty old

ds is fine, just get it out of the way in the beginning and you won't have to deal with it end game. (mainly plays killer)
It's really dumb how ds is a paradox where you need to tunnel not to get hit with it later when anti tunnel is supposedly it's main function

What do you think would help balance the game for new vs seasoned players?
I'd buff killers and cut down on map size and pallets but increase foliage and hiding spots so there is an emphasis on stealth rather than looping

Well they’d have to tweak it to find the sweet spot, but when I started killer I had no perks besides base and got 4ks pretty quick. I didn’t suffer playing as a new killer. Now as survivor, it was brutal for a loooong time.
I have no idea when you started but I assume when you played killer the survivors were around your skill level but that might have been when matchmaking was better nowadays a killer can be paired with any rank which hurts both parties since it's a miss match of skill
Imo survivor is really only brutal if you have potato teammates who take 5 min to do a single gen but you can't really change potato

Well that already happens, more than it should. I had a game earlier where every survivor (swf) was rank 16-18, yet had all purple top tier perks. One has p3 clothing on. They also played very well....too well for those ranks.
Deranking takes time and is unfair, but there’s no way around it if a person opts to do that.
So what's the point of locking perks behind rank if only new player mainly new killer players suffer
The reason I say killer players because low rank survivors can still be in a swf and ranking up with survivor is easier not to mention right now low rank killers can get paired with red rank survivors
-
What happens if you intentionally derank or rank reset happens
-
People saying 3 people got slugged didn't watch the video also they were bad and screwed the Claudette and whoever was on the hook

The issue is killer mains gripe that the game is survivor favored being balanced for 2k. Your 2k "loss" means 2 survivors lost too. you think the game should be balanced so 4 people lose consistently for you? You think anyone will play that?
How is a 2k a loss for a survivor when it's easy to pip as a survivor
-
@Clevite said:
It is hard not go for 4ks when you are a killer. It takes a lot to switch your mindset away from seeing less than 3ks as a win. Even if you hooked everyone twice. And for the longest time even 3ks felt like a loss to me, I wanted that 4k.
But if the emblem system was changed to award killers for other actions then it may be easier but I doubt it. Killers want those kills.
Only reason I was able to switch my mindset was because I have been focusing on survivor and can sympathize with them more now.
But I still have to fight my ego when I play killer to not go all tryhard and kill them. But if I feel the survivors are trying to bully me and being cocky in their actions. I will go all out for the 4ks.
I had the opposite reaction I went from a solo survivor to a killer and I don't really feel bad for them since bad teammates is the biggest problem and you can't really change it not to mention the tons of safety nets they have

Others suggested that maybe only swf should be affected, since solo que could become a mayhem. Would you still agree to a 100% or what do you base it on?
I just edited it
-
I would be 100% fine with this but in fairness survivors should get a guaranteed kobe since people will just leave them and to prevent tunneling ds basekit

Besides both those situations not being realistic, I should have said mid game, as that were the killer would have most the pressure, in most cases.
I must've worded it wrong if you got confused I'm saying totem spawns are pretty easy to remember or a hex will spawn on a gen or a survivor will just spawn on it or it'll be out in the open totem spawn sucks and in high ranks on live right now ruin can be destroyed in 30 seconds to a minute and since they didn't say anything about totem spawns it'll be destroyed just as easily when this new patch comes out
without the early game pressure of ruin without corrupt on a big map sometimes it's impossible to stop the first gen if the survivors just stack on it
Also since you can only chase 1 person at a time and the other survivors have nothing better to do than do gens 2-3 gens will pop if the survivors aren't potatoes in the first chase which makes the game go straight towards late game which if ruin isn't in los isn't an incorrect statement that the devs made when they said its a late game perk
-
@TheRoyalOwl said:

That would be true, but the new ruin is supposedly for the late game, so technically he wouldn't be affected by his power much.
Except it's a hex perk it won't do anything and after 3 gens pop in the first chase it goes straight to late game or it'll pop in the first 30 seconds

True - but he does get his power fairly quick. He is affected, but to a lesser extent than someone like Trapper or Myers.
I mean he has to hit 2 survivors and absorb blood orbs or harass a injured survivor for a minute while gens are still getting done its a different story when he gets his power depending on the map but he's still as affected in the beginning as other m1 killers
-
Billy has the mobility to not need ruin what about the bottom tier killers
-
@Actually_Jesus said:
It's really easy to say "ruin can be good!" when a mobile killer like Billy who has the ability to traverse large maps and apply adequate pressure. Do that with Trapper or Myers.
Go ahead, I'll wait.

AKA Everyone except Billy, Freddy, Oni, as well as Nurse to an extent. I would say Demogorgon - but that would be incorrect since that requires you to place your ground anus'.
Oni is still affected because he's an m1 killer till he gets his power

I hate new DL. Obsession isn't affected, yet you're punished for killing him by having Dying Light shut off!
Presumably your BF was slugging the DL Obsession so they don't die and can't get gens? "Dying" Light. More like "Slugged in the corner of the map so they can't get generators with Knock Out so survivors can't find him and heal him and he inevitably bleeds out into the dirt Light"
I mean I consider dying light trash but it becomes decent on oni with thrilling and bbq so you have constant pressure

Trash at reading scratch marks in a chase that has Los blockers I either can't read them or I follow them and they lead nowhere

Dead by daylight Dan is a better killer, he hasn't ever been looped more than twice by the same survivor and he's always got a knack of knowing exactly where the survivors are.
He's not too well known but one day we'll all be cheering his name for he is the greatest dbd player to this day. Some say he takes the game too seriously but he knows his name is on the line so he must strive for perfection and deliver all the spaghetti sauce to the entity.

Hook saves during the end game are sooo good with BT. I save them, they body block and take the hit, we both escape out the exit gate. BT is one of the best perks in the game, especially once the exit gates are open. I actually feel bad sometimes because I've had killers just disconnect when they get cucked by it during the EGC.
It's frustrating because it happens a lot I've even done it while faking having ds
-
@SeducedByDaemonette said:
If you don't tunnel you are not affected by BT lol . I could agree that old BT was broken , but it was 2 years ago , don't go after unhooked survivor , you won't notice BT .
So when the unhooked survivor body blocks you because they have bt you won't notice it?

just a question, but how do you expect this perk to be a lategame perk when you instantly tell everyone its active?
how did you expect ruin to ever be a lategame perk, when this forum is literally full with people complaining that their ruin broke 30 seconds into the match?
i'm not trying to offend you or anything, i just dont understand your thought process here...
oh and props to whoever redesigned lerys! that looks really really good now!
When 2-3 gens pop in the first chase the game goes straight to late game
Silly killer player did you think the devs like killers having fun? /s

Just when you thought getting to red ranks couldn’t get any easier they give us survivors this hot garbage. Lol poor killers.. you thought you were getting bullied before. Better be running killers who can traverse the map quickly and put pressure on gens aka billy/nurse/spirit/Freddy/oni etc. This rework just makes stealth killers and lower tier killers extinct. So now survivors no longer have to worry about many stealth killers and or most killers who cannot get across the map quickly. So RIP trapper/wraith/Michael/ghostface/leatherface/pig/clown/legion/plague/doc/huntress
Oni is awful in the early game since he only gets his power when he harasses an injured survivor for a minute or hits 2 separate survivors and absorbs some blood orbs and even then oni can still be looped in his power
-
Have you ever thought that survivors want to only see the top tiers in red ranks? The pick rate will spike along with the cries of op and those killers will get nerfed leading all killers to be clown tier

Tho only advantage you get in that situation is not having to force to kick gens. The moment they are off the gen, it starts regressing on its own with a slightly higher rate.
It doesn't matter since 1 ruin regression isn't all that great either since its not a 1 to 1 regression rate 2 its a hex totem 3 they'll just hop straight back on the gen since it barely lost progress

Yeah true, after playing with it, i realise i way overvalued it
I still need more matches with it to be sure but i think i wouldn't run it even if it wasn't a hex perk
I'm honestly wondering if it's on par or worse than surge because both are terrible
Now I want a buff to surge that it's map wide

As a non hex it would be absurdly strong
Ruin as a nonhex, surveilance, distressing and whatever as doc
Find 3-4 gens that spawn close
Wait for survivors to do the other gens
Laugh in Herman while you instantly see which gen is being worked on and by the time they get chased away and go back on it it's regressed
Wait untill survivors fall asleep irl
Win
The effect is way to strong for a nonhex perk
It bassicly adds 50% to all time survivors waste and saves you the time for kicking gens
It's still garbage as a non hex since in that 3 gen strat you still have to chase someone off gens maybe even 2 if they double up a gen is going to pop regardless since you have to get those other 2 off the other gens

@HatCreature said:
I think the new Ruin is interesting but like everyone has said, Hexes don't last to the end game.
I'm not playing the PBT but I'm assuming the Survivors have a notification you're using Ruin so they go look for the totem and then because totems have horrible placements they get destroyed instantly, I frequently spawn on Hex totems despite the amazing line of sight check that ALWAYS WORKS. This is because the old maps were not designed for totems while new maps like Hawkins were created with totems in mind so it was easier to find good spots. I haven't been to the reworked Lery's so I am assuming the new totem spawns are amazing and fun, if not then my previous statement is false.
If all possible totem spots were covered with leaves or boxes and then Survivors had to move that object to find if a totem is there or not then it would take longer because
1---they're wasting their time interacting with a fake spot
2---the amount of fake spots is the strength and outweighs the obvious locations which BHVR can't get away from so this is a win for them 100%
I'm not saying Ruin shouldn't be a Hex totem but I am saying that no matter what the Devs say, totems are inherently flawed because of their inability to put them in spots that aren't super obvious and in direct line of sight of spawns and near Gens.
Ngl the fake spots suggestion helps killers and survivors
But I got a question/idea what if some fake spots injure you to keep people on their toes. Would it be fair?
-
@Sonzaishinai said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/973873#Comment_973873
Idk, ruin would regress gens at half the rate they are repaired so any stall is effectivly increased by 50% if the hexs is up and the gen regressing
You also don't lose time kicking gens
Yes if the hex goes the perk goes to but we'll just have to be creative
Maybe 4 hex perks will be a thing
Ruin, thrill, devour and haunted or something
I feel both ruin and devour hope will swing the game massivly in the killers favour if they stay up long enough so they either waste tons of time jumping on your hexes or they genrush and risk getting devoured if they are not fast enough
It's something i want to try in the ptb atleast
Good luck with that build I personally don't see a point in running ruin since it doesn't slow down the early game so good survivors probably won't bother destroying it.

"You killer mains forgot us survivors had our perks nerfed too, like MoM and DS. All MoM did was give me a free, guaranteed hit during chase that required me to do absolutely nothing to receive it but those trash killer mains complained and got it nerfed to where you need to do something to get a free hit. DS was fine as is, so what your first chase with the obsession was thrown down the drain via a skillcheck get over it."
Remember when the devs changed mom hits to active with m2/l2/lt hits when it was still old mom
-
It would be one thing if regression was 1 to 1 with speed but I'm pretty sure it's less than half normally so it still ain't that good not to mention it's still a hex perk
-
Must be nice to be at rank 15 I hope you get the opportunity to play at higher ranks where the real games are at
-
I mean people have been saying gen speeds are too quick and the devs nerf ruin without addressing the problem it's obvious that'll drum up controversy
