  • To this very day,

Haddonfield is the ONLY map I see map offerings for from survivors. They always run balanced landing.

    This is just torture.

  • To those in this thread.

Haddonfield is a mess of a map.

There's only THREE generators that aren't next to safe tiles with abusable long loops, or multiple windows that can SOMETIMES spawn this way. These three generators aren't near each other, so you cannot 3-gen strategy them.

    It's a mess of a map.

Shelter Woods can be bad for killers if it has a high pallet count, it's totally RNG dependent.

The Game map also is much the same if it spawns with tons of pallets, many of which block pathways and cannot be mindgames. You are 100% guaranteed 4 pallets (two above the bathroom, and two surrounding entrance to basement).

Like please, I'd love to here a constructive arguement for why this is ok.

Explain to me why bullshit like this is ok?

OH MY GAWD... I hate that so much!

  • Won't happen. Composer is extremely stingy with usage of the piece. Even some Saw movies weren't able to get it in.

  • I think it should deactivated (but not count as its 1-time use) if:

    1. DS Survivor unhooks another survivor
    2. DS Survivor completes or helps to complete a generator
    3. The killer hooks one of the 3 other survivors who don't have DS active

This way, the perk is more risk and reward. I'd be even willing to let the timer go up to 80 seconds.

  • It'd be fine as long as the killer was aura-blind, can't see survivors, and deafened. You'd be guessing where the survivors are kinda like playing Battleship.

  • @SpaceCoconut

Rather than nerf the timer, how about this?

Add a condition that if someone who has DS activated unhooks another survivor or completes a generator within that span of 60 seconds, then the person with DS has it deactivated until they get hooked for the 2nd time. They'll get another chance to possibly use it if the Killer picks them up to give them a 3rd final hook.

This would make the perk more fair and not let it be stacked with things like MoM, so Killers won't have to deal with ludicrous survivor tank builds.

  • @Peanits

But yeah, I do find this concerning.

Yes, I know Ghost Face would get a Killer's Instinct against a crouched and hiding survivor who spotted him, but still...

That's really sad that Ghost Face can be spotted by crouched survivors behind objects, so he literally cannot see them because it's a 3rd person view vs. 1st person view.

Even worse than that is that Ghost Face can see but not stalk a survivor through the cornfields, while that same survivor can put him on a 30-second power cooldown, and Ghost Face will get a pointless Killer's Instinct (pointless because he already sees that survivor)... Why not make it so that Ghost Face can't stalk and survivors can't spot him while in the cornfields?

    :(

  • I don't have audio. What does it sound like?

  • @Blueberry

That works too. You could for simplicity's sake just make it so that if the Killer's running the Remember Me perk, if there's one survivor left, then that survivor automatically becomes the obsession. Therefore, by being the obsession, they become immune to Remember Me.

  • @TWiXT

    Wait, what?

So you're saying that you potentially can be broken out of Night Shroud in a scenario where it's not even possible to see the survivor?

  • @Blueberry

I agree. Remember Me is horrible as a perk now.

Those 16 seconds might make the difference between winning against a survivor in the EGC going for a gate when each gate aren't close together, but it doesn't really matter because you usually win gate standoffs as a killer anyways. Taking the Whispers perk is actually better in that regard as it also provides benefits during the early game and sometimes the midgame.

Nerfing the time to 16 seconds during situations that are not EGC just makes the Remember Me perk nearly useless.

16 extra seconds + 20 seconds of gate time = 165.6m distance at the standard killer speed

30 extra seconds + 20 seconds of gate time = 230m distance at the standard killer speed

With the pre-nerf Remember Me, you actually had a slight chance at downing and slugging someone in a chase and getting to the gate in time before it opened.

The post-nerf Remember Me doesn't grant Killers nearly enough extra time to start and end a chase before heading to and reaching the gate before it opens.

Keep in mind, maps like Mother's Dwelling have as much as 188m of distance between each corner of the map (not that gates spawn in the corners of a map, but you get my drift).

  • Beethoven's 7th symphony, 2nd movement.

  • @FXScorpio

If you're running ninja build Doctor, you can potentially have a 4m terror radius while in a chase and 20m terror radius outside of chase.

  • Oh my god. Can they not break things when a new patch comes out?

How is the code this much spaghetti.

It's like they're playing Jenga with boxing gloves on when dealing with the code. =/

Has it been confirmed Spirit's sounds are still bugged? I think I saw in the patchnotes that she no longer phases in and out due to some VHX bug.

  • I like the idea of gradually expanding detection zone.

  • I hate it. Get rid of the VHX.

  • @Paladin_Goo said:

I like exhaustion gas on clown.

    *mic drop*

    @Paladin_Goo

It's the only thing that makes Clown fantastic. Just deny that Dead Hard or Balanced Landing and drink the survivor tears.

  • @Azurlynx

That sounds broken on larger maps and would punish 110% movement speed killers.

  • @TAG

Amanda's Secret wouldn't be god awful if the aura duration was significantly buffed. Let's say 1 minute for starters?

  • @Ihatelife

That's beyond stupid. You're basically stunning yourself for 4 seconds for what? A survivor that you're going to presumably continue chasing?

But... Feral Frenzy will be on cooldown. That's incredibly stupid.... It should apply on first hit of deep wounds, not the 2nd hit.

Only addon worse than that crap is the Trapper addon that applies Hemorrhage to a survivor who gets trapped until healed.

  • @NuclearBurrito

Making scratchmarks only visible if a survivor touches a wall would make large maps unplayable.

I cannot even imagine how one would deal with Temple of Purgation.

It would become mandatory that killer run Whispers perk.

    That sounds awful dude.

    =(

In retrospect, you'd have to INCREDIBLY buff the inactivity crows. We're talking like 1 crow every 15 seconds of a survivor doing nothing.

  • @Ihatelife

Wow, in that case that addon that causes Broken status is completely worthless. It's not even good in the niche scenario I imagined.

Also, am I reading this correctly? Those on hit addons for Legion only apply when hitting a survivor that already has Deep Wounds? So you'd have to hit a survivor twice to even get any use out of those?

  • @Ihatelife

Wait, so even without the addon that applies Broken status effect?

If you have deep wounds, I thought insta-heals just take you to full health.

You're saying that an insta-heal would just put you into injured?

    Or

Are you saying that you can't use medkit while you have Deep Wounds?

I don't play survivor much, and I don't see many Legions when I do play survivor.

  • @Alfred

Yeah, Stridor hasn't worked properly since winter of '18.

  • @Sairek

I flinched just reading that. God, I'm so glad MoM is getting nerfed right into the trashcan.

  • @Mellow7

Don't forget, they changed it so that you can't stack the chainsaw addons that apply mangled debuffs & repair debuffs. This was a combo that wasn't even that strong to begin with, and now it's beyond useless in a game.

  • I like these ideas. A lot actually.

  • @johnmwarner said:

Ghostface has no terror and red stain even standing, this makes pig look bad.

True, but pig doesn't have a red stain for I think 2 seconds after standing up from crouch.

  • Do keep in mind that ghost face doesn't have a red stain when in night shroud, he only produces 8m of noise to warn of his presence.

At the lowest possible terror radius for T2 Myers, by that point, survivors will see Myer's red stain... Unless you like walking backwards, I guess.

  • @Alfred said:

    Why hotfix?

Just delete this map and also slap person responsible for this map design...

    @Alfred

Honestly, I wouldn't cry if they disabled this map and the related map offering until they've made it more fair for both sides.

  • @GMan79

Yeah. Beartrap's placement in general are wonky.

I've found that placing them diagonally tends to help solve the hitbox issues, but I mean... Why should I have to do that?

    It's really dumb.

  • @OMagic_ManO said:

Bamboozle and walking downstairs for a fat swing is about the only counter to the map.

    @ShrekIsHot

    Pretty much, yeah.

I appreciate that they are focusing on reworking Springwood and Freddy at the same time, but Haddonfield is much, much, much more broken of a map.

If I wasn't using Nurse, it got to the point in Red ranks where I would just DC at the start of the match if someone deliberately used Haddonfield map offering.

You just KNOW that they were running Balanced Landing.

No point in even playing those games.

It doesn't help either that the generators themselves, for the most part, spawn in extremely safe tiles on the Haddonfield map. There's only maybe 3 generators that are on unsafe tiles and they are never close together, so even a 3 generator strategy is impossible on Haddonfield.

  • 4k within 6 minutes of game starting = EZ BABY KILLERINO

Yeah, I don't understand it either. But whatever... Toxic gonna be toxic. =(

  • @ShrekIsHot

Fun fact, Freddy should also be in the Pure Evil tier.

In the comic Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash, it's actually stated was the most evil person in the entire world. This is why when he died, the dream demons offered him immortality.

It's not movie cannon though, and certainly not the 2010 version of Freddy, which this game is based upon.

  • @se05239

Only a decade? Wow, that's sooner than I expected. :P

  • @BlazeNightash said:

@Mister_xD that’s the issue with most killers they’re getting gen rushed. A lot killers arn’t weak. It’s just the game goes-to fast

One minute on generators is fine. It's just that chases can drag on far longer than one minute due to horrible map design of loops/double pallets in jungle gyms, etc., And the fact that we have more huge maps now that give killers a major disadvantage in being able to patrol the generators and apply map pressure.

It feels awful to deal with stealthy survivors where you go to one side of Temple of Purgation and nobody's there. (-.-)

  • @se05239 said:

To be honest, most killers' add-ons should strive towards being as interesting as Myers' or Hag's arsenal of fun game-changing add-ons.

It feels a lot of like there's a lack of creativity with add-ons when it comes to new killers nowadays, you know? I mean, just look at Plague's or Legion's add-ons.

I agree wholeheartedly. Unless you make each individual addon equally strong in brown/green/purple tier that support a unique play style, then you'll end up with a one-trick pony build like with Plague or Legion because the individual addons are not good enough to be worth taking.

Legion's killer instinct range increasing and deep wound timer increasing addons are garbage that don't build the foundation of a specific play style.

The same is true for Plague and her object infection duration/object interaction infection increase and corrupt purge enhancing addons.

  • Yeah. Double pallets in a jungle gym drive me insane. I'm pretty sure I've seen pallets spawning less than 16m apart as well.

  • @Boss said:

Not me, but i remember someone suggesting that hooked Survivors should get Mangled from being hooked.

And it would either last until you're fully healed or forever and can't be replaced by any other kind of Mangled. (Nor could you stack Mangled effects, but that's already standard now.)

Idk if that's well balanced, just putting someone else's idea here... (Can't remember who, sorry.)

Unless you're playing a killer who spreads their hits out before downing a survivor, or slugs everyone, that'd make Sloppy Butcher or any addon that inflicts mangled on a survivor completely useless.

  • @Volfawott said:

    @ShrekIsHot

Amanda has a large majority of her add-ons that are just awful.

Her status effect add-ons tend to be too conditional like even with the mangled effect you could very easily just take the trap off then heal.

The add-ons that increase the amount of skill checks when doing a jigsaw box is counter-intuitive as it makes it even easier to get the trap off especially for people know how to hit skill checks.

Don't even get me started on Amanda's secret.

Amanda's letter is ok it's personally my favourite add-ons he has it just needs a buff. The negatives outweigh the positives which is terrible for an ultra rare.

Interlocking razor shares the same problem with the addons that increase the amount of skill checks as long as someone's competent with hitting skill checks interlocking razors absolutely useless. I like what it does on paper but skill checks aren't hard to hit and you can't even run an impossible skill check build as you don't have access the huntress lullaby to affect boxes

Ruleset number to feels incredibly unnecessary as an add-on and should really be part of the base kid and the add-on itself reworked

It's kind of sad when common and uncommon addons are a lot more viable and useful than Higher Tier addons especially the ultra-rares and Amanda definitely is a victim of this

Oh shi- I totally forgot that BHVR never got around to making Hex: Huntress Lullaby work on Jigsaw boxes.

    =(

  • I'd also like to point out that literally only Hag has an addon that applies the "Deafness" status effect.

It would be nice to see that status effect used more across the board with other killers.

  • She has so many junk addons, dear god.

The skillcheck ones are beyond terrible and useless.

I mean, the only way you might get them to work is if you follow someone to a jigsaw box and have Unnerving Presence on you as well as Hex: Huntress Lullaby with max stacks?

But that's still dumb because you shouldn't be tunneling survivors with RBTs.

  • Furtive Chase can give Doctor a 4m terror radius while in a chase. :3

  • @SnakeSound222

Yeah. In red green ranks you have to SWEAT hard to just get 2 kills, let alone 3 or 4... You're screwed if you make even two misplays or mess up more than two chases because he lacks mobility options.

I miss the days of Nurse's Calling working with survivors trying to get out of Madness 3.

I wouldn't be opposed to his shock range being longer at default going from 9m to 12m but also adjusting the addons that increase his shock range. You could make this fair by having the last 3m of his shock range not causing 2.5 seconds of flinching, but it would still apply madness.

I'd also like for survivors not to be able to stand in front of Doctor and avoid the shock because that's really dumb. If anything, being that close should count as being shocked twice.

His movement speed is 110% in treatment mode. That's hag/huntress movement speed, so yeah, pretty slow. I can't find his stats on his movement speed when shocking, but he's probably moving at around nurse speed, or possibly slower than that. That's really bad, killers shouldn't give up movement speed for a non-lethal effect. It's why he's a joke of a killer in red ranks.

Assuming you're playing against competent players in red ranks, the only honestly viable build with doctor would be the poor man's Michael stealth build. Just get everyone to Madness 2 then just punishment mode rest of the game with a 16m terror radius.

On a side note, I just realized with Furtive Chase and two Calm addons, you can give Doctor a 4m terror radius while in chase, lmao.

  • Don't. Playing doctor at red ranks is painful. He needs the delay between switching stances lowered. It's the only thing holding him back from being good.

  • There's a really stupid no mither & Sabo build, but it takes insane levels of swf coordination to pull it off.

  • @artist said:

survivors have to earn adren by surviving until end game, and u rly dont have to deal with bt if u just go for the unhooker.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/526015#Comment_526015

i dont see how these are comparable. adren only happens once at the end of the match, and a killer's addons benefits them for the entire game.

Going for the unhooker doesn't work if they're carrying an insta-heal or have MoM. Nothing you can do matters at that point.
