I can confirm, when getting unhooked with Clown killer you do not always get borrowed time. Same thing happened to me again today. I got unhooked, saving survivor took a hit, I did not. So I ran to Clownie to block him and he hit me while I had borrowed time from being unhooked and he downed me even though I still had borrowed time.

Where did you get this information lmao
Also, "endgame means killer lost the match"?
XD? Blood Warden, NOED, No Way Out?
Reading comprehension not your strong point? I said slugging at endgame. Go back and reread. The developer's stated unbreakable is becoming base kit. They tried it out on the ptb.

It seems from what I’ve read, you got hit off hook, taking an endurance hit, then you mistook the haste status effect you get from being hit for the endurance status effect maybe?????? that or it’s a bug
Gas hitting the hook does not count as a hit. After I was unhooked we ran through the gas, that also does not count as a hit. So after being unhooked I took one hit with borrowed time while I had endurance. So one hit and running through smoke. The one hit downed me even though I got points for taking an endurance hit and the borrowed timer was still up with time left on it.

So he hit you twice then? Endurance can only tank 1 hit.
two times? no he hit once. Reread my post

None of those perks or add-ons would counter BT/endurance.
Were you carrying any items or running a perk like Saboteur or Self-Care? If so, even an accidental tap is considered a Conspicuous Action and would remove the endurance.
Endurance was on the whole time, I went down while endurance was showing. I was running self care, but I did not hit it; there was no reason to.

I don't think any of the perks or addons did it.
Did he hit you directly with a bottle and when he did that did you turn white?
No he hit me and the survivor unhooking me with a bottle, it hit the hook, not us. So as soon as I got off hook I was in a gas cloud he tried to get the person who unhooked me so I got between them and pushed him back, blocking his progress forward. He swung hit me, I lit up white showing the endurance hit took place and I went down with 3/4 of the endurance status left.

That's not what I am talking about. They slug me then go find the last remaining survivor. If that survivor is good at hiding then I am forced to bleed out wasting my time. If I am forced to be slugged at least give me the option to end it myself without a penalty. I shouldn't have to just lay there. Either make unbreakable base kit so people have consequences for slugging or give me an option to leave the game without taking a penalty.
You slugged me. Don't want me to crawl off? Don't slug. I'm looking for hatch myself.
Unbreakable is coming to base kit. What we want to know is when? If a killer has to slug during endgame they have already lost the match
-
So on this build what is the perk or add-on that counters bt?
-
@ByeByeQ said:
I never tried that on Clown, might have to give it a go. I doubt it's intended though and is probably an exploit. Clown bottles are funky. I know hitting the obsession directly with a clown bottle can cost a Play With Your Food stack.
Bubba can often trump basekit BT if he's right up the survivor's tailpipe and can mange to get 2 hits with the chainsaw with the same sweep.
Yeah, I know Bubba can once in a great while if he times it right, but the chainsaw is multiple hits. Clownie hit me once and I rammed him to get him to hit me and protect the person who unhooked me, and then I still had deadhard if I needed to take another hit. I would never have rammed him if I knew he could counter borrowed time.
-
Please make an auto completer feature for bloodweb. Once you have all the perks for all the characters it is a tedious chore to do the bloodweb. Also why not add some more high value items or add-ons for every level of the bloodweb. So many items on the bloodweb and I need none of them especially not the brown low level space fillers.

Depends on the map and the player. Trickster's biggest problem is he does not belong in DBD. It feels like the movie/novel Ready Player One where a character from another game wandered in.

remoting into your games? that sounds weird. what did it look like?
He messaged me to let me know he was going to get me back for something I posted. Then I would play a match and the killer would ignore everything in the game but me, tunnel me, hook me and then facecamp me. No matter how long I waited between matches he would always be the killer and do the same thing. I was able to track his IPN from the game and found he was a Behaviour employee.
-
Was it that same employee who was remoting into my games? I didn't want to think that was the case, but the lack of response kind of confirms it. I get it. You can't share internal problems, but thanks for getting him off my case.
-
I love playing against Nurse. A bad Nurse is a laugh riot which is just pure fun. A great Nurse player and the game is over in under 5 minutes. I do think her multi-blink is way overpowered in a good killer's hands; miss the survivor? instant blink and course correct, miss them again? do it over and over. Too many add-ons remover her blink cool down.

They work when they work. Getting a killer to look at the flash bang is another story.
The flashbang when you were being carried did not work. The killer deliberately dropped you.
But he didn't drop me, unless flashbangs allow the killer to drop you once they are blinded.
-
Developers recently fixed a major problem with false DC penalties, but they have not announced it yet. I used to get disconnected every game which ran over 5 minutes, I have now played a week without one false DC penalty, so things are getting better.
-
I can't play fps type games, so only Survivor for me. If there was a third person view for killer I would play killer, but I currently can't.
-
I understand if you can't share because it would look bad. Otherwise please share what you fixed. The game has been way more stable and I even stopped getting nothing but red rank killers. You done good.
-
I think the fact every new character added to the games adds 3 new perks is making it more complicated. If you have ever tried to explain to a new player what is going on, the basic premise is easy, once you add in the perks and how they modify game play it gets insane.
I would like to see different play modes, like games with no perks, or games with randomized perk picks.

It is possible to time the dead hard correctly so you vault the window while at over 100% momentum, allowing you to fast vault over medium vault.
You can also just dead hard for distance and profit.
This is what I am trying to do, but no matter how I space it I still have to wait the half second to a second it takes for a prompt to come up to perform a vault. It also happens when just fast vaulting, but the delay is not as bad. Can lag cause a delay in vault prompts or are window vaults handled on my computer instead of the server?
-
I hated this map when it came out, but I learned to tolerate it or maybe even like it. I will miss it.
I love the first little room at the top of the second floor. You could run in time a volt through the window and be down the stairs before the killer knew what happened.
Could they just reskin the map?
-
I am up to 11 games today with no false dc penalties. Yeah! You guys fixed something. Do you care to share what the problem was? How did you fix it for future reference?

Innocent people do not get banned.
Our Team of ACM's are very well versed in how to deal with hacks/cheats and what to look for.
Not really, I get banned from matchmaking all the freaking time, and I have never cheated or disconnected, but boy oh boy do I get the time out sit in the corner for two day bans. DBD constantly punishes the innocent.
-
Trickster, he is not horror related and usually played by camping unskilled killers who love the machine gun aspect of his knife throws.
-
I just want to say I have now played five games with no DC penalties, I want to thank the developers for working on this problem. I can not remember the last time I played a few games in a row without a DC penalty. Thank you for taking this problem seriously and working on it. Good work guys!
-
I have never cheated, but occasionally I get some sort of disconnect and an anti-cheat message saying my game triggered an anti-cheat response. What is going on here? Does the anti-cheat software ignore actual cheaters and targets honest players or am I possibly being hacked?
-
Last week I had two killer hackers in two different games. First was a clown who was super obvious, He downed everyone in 30 seconds and flew around the map whipping gas bombs at a rate of a dozen a second. Second was a trickster who selectively cheated, he only cheated when not being watched. But again he was moving way too fast, never ran out of knives, and magically appeared next to gens being repaired and kicked them to 0% progress.
-
Phew, I thought for a second the dreaded disconnect bug had migrated to only the lobbies. Good to know it is still screwing up the main game. 48 Hour ban, I did not dc and did not lose connection.
For those who say take a brake, what is the point? The problem is not on my side, everytime I take a brake and come back the same busted game is waiting for me.
I bought this game, I bought DLC and cosmetics, I've invested time and money. Is it too much to want to play the game? I guess until someone makes Behaviour fix the game they are just going to continue to take people's money and then block them from playing what they bought. That is a real cruddy business model.
48 hour ban for playing fairly and well and obeying all the usage agreements. 48 hour ban for doing the right thing, are you guys really that uncaring about your players?

If you're looking for a real answer, if they enjoy playing survivor, see who's their favorite. Ask them their favorite outfit on that character and then see if you can find nearly identical items online/in-store so they could have it as well. If they like it, tailor it to their size so they can confidently walk around as their favorite survivor.
This obviously only works if the character they play matches what they would actually wear.
I like this idea.

I also played several games on the PTB to help narrow down the issue. The PTB servers seem to be stable. So it appears to be related to a node or regional server.
This is a very substantial problem. Could someone else post what they have found works?
Behaviour any input or suggestions would be appreciated.

My Daughter got me a DBD coffee mug with thermal graphics last year. It has held up well and still changes colors quite well when hot drinks are added to the mug. That is a pretty good gift I can recommend.

I checked, my ban is still up, any progress? Any ideas why this is happening? I played some on the PTB and there seemed to be no problem with those servers. So we can eliminate my system, my internet, my settings, the PTB, and the tutorial bots-I tested all these for you to help narrow down where the actual problem is.
-So it seems to be not the game build and not the user's fault, so it must be something with the regular servers or a node point. What additional information do you have for me and the others who frequently face this bug?
-
Thank you for all your hard work. The community appreciates you.
-
As a control group I played a bunch of games against the tutorial bots and never had any problem. I stretched the games out to around twenty minutes well past where I usually get booted; not an easy task to keep those pesky bot survivors alive! I was trying to rule out my system being the problem. Never had any problems, so it does seem to be a network problem.
Back to the dc disconnection problem: I have also noticed I usually get booted from a game when I am interacting with the killer in some way, like they are chasing me and swing and miss or they chase me through a window. Once I vault and clear the window the game will boot me, so it does seem to be interacting with the killer brings on the random disconnects. Once in awhile I get booted and I am unaware of the killer's location, so it may be a problem with their connection or something equally as buggy.
-
I should note in the past I had a Behaviour employee trolling me. I reported him to Behaviour for the messages he was sending to me. To retaliate he would come into my games and tunnel, camp and kill me then let the other survivors finish the game as he stood in the corner. He messaged me to let me know he was doing this on purpose to screw with me. I guess there is the possibility he is still working there and is disconnecting me every game. That seems super petty, but people surprise you sometimes.

30 seconds. It hurts my solo que brain that you think that's even remotely impactful. Surely you cannot be that selfish?
Have you also considered playing something else until your issues have been dealt with? You may find you're better off spending your time with something that won't screw you over.
In what way am I being selfish? Look at the above screens. We are in end game collapse, the game is basically over. I am making a major problem public knowledge. I am taking one for the team to get the Devs to fix their game so others can enjoy the game. Are you implying by buying the game, investing time and money in the game and then expecting it to work is being selfish? It isn't like I have the option of playing without being disconnected. I am probably playing just like you but instead of getting points for playing well I am being booted from the game. Selfish is not caring about others, of the two of us which is not thinking of others and how their actions affect others? I am sitting on a 24 hour ban for a game I paid money for and did nothing wrong. The Devs have been informed about this problem for close to a year. That is they are happy to take my money, my end of the agreement; their part of the agreement is providing the game (in a stable configuration) to me to play, they have not.

This thread should be titled, “How I ruin the game for everyone else”.
I am not ruining the game for anyone, who suffers? The killer gets bonus points for abandoned. The other players get 30 seconds or a minute of time where the killer is distracted by me. I did not ruin the game, it is broken and unfair, that is on the developers not me.

You're a wasted space for a player. If you're just going to give up and not bother staying in the game dont play.
Like what's the point in loading in to play a match for 3-5mins. Those are the most boring of matches, and if you're just playing for points you dont get what games was made for. FUN.
What is the alternative?
For me if I play normally I get a 6 hour (or more) ban currently and no points and lost items. It isn't like I have the option to play normally and get points or have fun. This way I get close to a half hour of fun as compared to maybe 15 minutes of play and no points and punishment.
I can get at least one gen done and usually a save or two.
I am playing to prestige level 3 all my players then I am done with the game unless it gets fixed.
Look at the above screen and my internet connection in the lower left corner. I have great connection, but this is the point in the game where it booted me out. I know because though I can see the game, I can not wiggle (see the progress meter at 0%? The game is no longer getting my input.) My crime is I did not die fast enough, that Spirit just could not get me to the hook fast enough to kill me.
A few seconds later and I have a 24 hour ban. My crime playing the game correctly and well.
My hope is enough players complain about how others are being treated. If you don't have erroneous dc bans then you should be upset that Behaviour does not care about those who do. Instead of more DLC we want a game which is stable for everyone.
-
I don't think they play the game. It is their work, so their relationship to the game is different than ours. I play to escape work, if they play they would see everything wrong and just be creating more work for themselves.
-
@Labrac said:
You play this game... to farm points? You know you can't change BP for real money, yea?
I don't farm points, I earn points by playing. I'm a better than average player, but I am not top tier. I almost always am the last player left alive if my whole team dies, so I know I don't suck, but I also fare poorly in the red ranks so I am not a superstar. I just like a little distraction to play during the work day to get my mind off work for ten or twenty minutes throughout the day. So I guess I am a casual player.

.......if you never dc or lose internet, how do you get dc penalties?
Since it happens to the same players over and over and some folks never or seldom have it happen the current thinking is one of the nodes in my region is faulty, whenever I get routed through it I will lose connection or it is the old bug that when the killer dcs I get the penalty.|
I've provided proof that I do not dc and shown I never lose connection, so it is not anything I can control. I just got tired of playing well and getting no points and getting dc bans for my efforts.
There are programming fixes the Devs could do to fix this bug, but they never do.
-
If not adding bots it would be nice if you could just run a map to learn the layout. I know you can do a custom game, but I need at least a week by myself to figure out the Raccoon City RE map. I am always lost on that one.

Yeah, me too. But they game I feel has regressed significantly since probably after blight’s release. There are a lot more issues (even though there were still a lot back then) and unfair tactics are more prevalent than ever.
I agree, after Blight things have steadily gone down hill. There have been some bright spots like improved windows, pallets, and fixing dead hard.
-
6 hour ban for playing a normal game, I did not dc and did not lose internet connection. You can see in the lower left corner that I never lost connection. If I was Behaviour I would throw every available employee at fixing this massive cluster muck, but that is me. I would tend to think it is a problem to constantly screw over your customers, but what do I know.
