no.
Why not? How is that not exactly what killers have to deal with now?
Its not the lack of a hit that bothers me, if it didn’t connect on the survivors screen then fair enough. It’s the false information that needs to be addressed
if the devs can “fix” dead hard for survivors then why can’t they do the same for flashlight validation for killers? How is it fair if a killer looks away in time but still gets blinded? Double standards at it’s finest

I just tunnel the person who forces BT out of my game and .
Simple. I never tunnel or camp but this enforce let me crazy.
But then that’s where the other second chance perks come in
Say you’re trying to chase the unhooker but he’s being body blocked by the unhooked who’s got BT, sure you can wait it out, but then you risk DS and/ or Unbreakable so you can’t pick them up or leave them slugged, especially if it’s end-game or there’s only 1 gen left and time isn’t on your side.
so it’s lose - lose for the killer in that situation
times that by 4 for all survivors and you have perks that make them temporarily un-killable
-
@GannTM said:
Take out boons (except COH), hit validation, and BT bodyblocking.
BT body blocking is a problem, BT is an anti tunnel perk, if you’re body blocking another survivor then you’re not being tunnelled. You should lose collision when under the effects of BT

"If you’re gonna make a broad statement about all console players then I can do the same about all PC players"
No-one said you couldn't. They were just sharing their experiences and you're entitled to yours too.
Edit: Also they said "most" not "all".
Okay then, if ‘most’ console players are brainless and selfish then ‘most’ PC players are toxic salty cry babies and/ or cheaters. That seems like a fair assessment right?
-
@Shirtless_Myers said:
Solo queue is generally horrible, but I find that my games that turn out terrible are in part because most console players lack a brain or are incredibly selfish.
funny, in my experience it’s PC players that are the toxic selfish ones who’ll DC after being downed first, or kill them selves on first hook. Not to mention people who use stretch res and all the other cheaters/ hackers
If you’re gonna make a broad statement about all console players then I can do the same about all PC players

Queue times can be bad enough already without splitting up the population.
Maybe with more game modes to chose from, from fun arcade type challenge modes to serious comp rules then it could attract more players? It could be worth a shot

Not sure I understand this argument. Even if the snowmen were an extra health state, surely the point of running Exposed perks is to make sure that the first hit which actually connects gets the down?
If a survivor knows they’re exposed then they’ll simply hop into a snowman forcing the killer to hit them and go on cool down while they make more distance to a pallet or window
-
Yes, Starstruck works with terror radius not distance so any perks that increase your TR ‘Distressing’ ‘Agitation’ ect will increase Starstrucks range. Also keep in mind perks that remove your TR such as Tinkerer will not activate Starstruck until your terror radius is back

Oh well in that case
Some people wait at the exit gate to make sure their teammates are safe, maybe get in a few extra heals for points
See what I did there? Completely ignored the main point?
Slugging is a valid strategy, yes
But having every one slugged on the ground for 4 minutes for them to bleed out isnt strategy, its simply wasting every ones time, and you yourself as a killer are losing points from not getting sacrifices
Fair enough, sorry I didn’t realise you meant slugging just for the sake of it when you don’t need to. I thought you were just talking about slugging in general
yes killers who do that are also dicks, although I will say I see that far less than survivors who simply won’t leave, that seems to happen almost every other game
-
@Shroompy said:
Same could be asked for killers who leave everyone slugged on the ground to bleed out
Its simple, they wanna be a dick
Slugging is valid strategy to win games and wait out DS and the best way to secure the 4K
waiting to teabag at the exit gates and clicky click serves no in game purpose other than to annoy
-
It’s not that he’s overpowered, it’s that the majority of killers are under powered. Killers are supposed to be strong and intimidating, you’re not supposed to be able to loop them for 5 gens

you're kidding right? it should always be 50/50 chance of out mindgaming each other. that's what makes the game fun. with these new w killers the game is incredibly boring and feels very unfair to get "outplayed" by questionable hits over pallets and windows. the only way to win is genrushing and that is just boring as hell. god we miss the old days when chases were actually exciting and fair.
Mind gaming loops is important yes, but it should only get you so far and only temporarily extend a chase, not have the ability to run a killer for 5 gens. At the end of the day this is a 4v1 game, the 1 is supposed to be stronger by default and the 4 are meant to be weaker individually, it’s only by coming together they should have a chance at escaping
If the each member of the 4 is just as strong as the 1 then what would be the point in playing the 1? Especially against a good team who can just bully you all game
I think sometimes people forget this is meant to be an asymmetric horror game against a viscous/ supernatural killer
-
@TheycallmeLix said:
Seriously, can’t count many times I wanted to kill myself on hook because we lost the game anyway and people unhooking me because they want their BP for unhooking.. STOP doing that and let us just go the next game!
I’ll bet you were the type of kid who’d quit and take your football back home with you when your team was losing so nobody else could play
-
@sluc16 said:
How is the game even fun for these guys? Just standing there like idiots from hook one.
They don't even make good BPs, and finish the match with 1 or 2 hooks. What's the point?
Technically if they get 1 kill from camping they’ll have 3 hooks.
But if you’re looking for someone to blame them blame SBMM, even the none campers have been reduced to it now because tunnelling and camping 1 person and getting them out of the game as early as possible is the most efficient way to win, and sometimes necessary if you’re up against a good team with full meta builds
On the other hand some people just like to camp and annoy, same way some survivors like to bully the killer and tea bag and click flashlights at them. You can’t “fix” player mentality

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/296282/devs-can-you-look-into-swfs-at-high-level
You can't nerf high level SWFs without nerfing Nurse, Blight, Spirit and Billy
Spirit’s already been nerfed enough. The stand still mind game is gone, she has directional audio now, not to mention Iron Will and Shadowstep DESTROY her
-
@Seraphor said:
Iron Will doesn't remove scratch marks, blood pools, or auras. To claim Iron Will is OP is absurd.
Shadowstep on the other hand...
Now combine them both and you have one near impossible chase, and god help you if you’re on an indoor map like Midwich or Lery’s
-
It’s very overpowered. When a survivor is out of line of sight the killer has two ways to track them, sound and scratch marks. Iron Will completely removes sound from the equation and there’s absolutely nothing the killer can do about it.
If you compare it to other “meta” perks they all have some counter play
- Dead Hard - try and bait it out
- Decisive Strike - wait it out
- Unbreakable - pick up straight away
- Boons - snuff them out
- Borrowed Time - wait it out
there’s at least some ways to counter other strong meta perks (granted it’s only a temporary solution to Boons but that’s an entirely different argument)
but with Iron Will there’s nothing the killer can do, you’ve just got to accept the fact you’re in for a lot harder chases for the rest of the game
-
I used to mostly main killer but since the Boon patch I find myself playing more and more survivor games than ever as it’s just a more chilled out/ fun experience
playing killer now is incredibly stressful with very little pay off, unless you resort to tunnelling and camping
it’s almost impossible to have a “fair” killer game now where you never tunnel, try and hook everyone in a fair order and try and make the game as fun as possible for everyone. Doing that now is a sure fire way to get 0 kills and teabagged at the exit gate
-
@Brimp said:
TBH death slinger was completely killed for me once they made the ADS change. It didnt even solve the most complained about problem which is reactibility but instead removed the creative part of his power. Now you have to pre aim and shoot for a survivor that couldn't even run there.
Yeah exactly, survivors who say things like “he just takes more skill now” clearly never played him. By removing his ability to quick scope and make snap decision flick shots they actually lowered his skill ceiling
-
@beatddb said:
I've mained him when he came out, but playing him now feels really bad. I would maybe play him more if I had STBFL, but considering how outdated the bloodwebs are I dont feel like spending a few million bp just for that
I know how you feel, I must have spent about 2 million BP just to get Monitor & Abuse for him, which now seems irrelevant since they increased his terror radius…

What you are saying is very situational. DH as a standalone perk is an ok-ok perk. If players choose to use it to dash to the nearby pallets or vaults, it is their gameplay strategy or tactic that they have with DH. Does not mean that they can do this everytime. Catch them out in the open and see for yourself how far their DH takes them.
If you talk about reworking pallet positions and no. of pallets in game, then we can have a more agreeable discussion.
It’s not situational, it’s literally how any good survivor will use the perk. Only noobs who’ve just started the game will save their DH for when they run into a dead zone and wait for the killer to swing
If you’re playing against a good survivor who knows how to loop perfectly then they’ll never be caught out in the open and they’ll always use their DH preemptively to make to a pallet during chase
picture it like this.
you’re chasing a survivor to a pallet, you’re slowly catching up, under normal circumstances you wait until they’re almost there to lunge, closing the gap and just catching them at the end of your swing.
Now, let’s bring DH into the equation.
you’re chasing a survivor to a pallet, you’re slowly catching up, they then preemptively use DH for extra distance. Now there’s literally nothing you can do. You can either
A. Lunge, but because of the extra distance they made your attack won’t reach them
B. Continue holding forward, but because of the extra distance they made by the time you’re in lunging distance they’ve already made it to the pallet.
it’s a lose - lose situation for the killer
-
@aknitus said:
Meta? DH in my view is a mediocre perk at best. You miss DH, you are dead. It is quite easy for me as a killer to counter 80% DHs.
You can’t “miss” though if you use it preemptively to create distance to make it to a pallet or window before the killer even has a chance to swing, that’s the real issue with the perk
-
@IronKnight55 said:
Sooo... Make it a bad perk? No thanks. We already have a lot of those. DH is fine.
It’s in literally every game I play as killer by at least 2 survivors, often 3, sometimes even 4. It most assuredly is not fine in its current state, it might as well be renamed to “mistake fixer 3000”
ran into a wall? Poor pathing? Misjudged the killers speed? Never fear! Dead hard is here to fix your mistake and help you reach that pallet or window in time!
-
Dead hard for survivors, BBQ and Chilli for killer, I swear no one ever runs those perks…
seriously though probably Monstrous Shrine or Beast of Prey for killer, maybe Slippery Meat as a survivor, the percentage to escape is still so small and it’s completely outclassed by Deliverance. All of those perks are definitely outdated and a victim of their time and could do with updating to fit more in line with the current gameplay
-
- Quick and Quiet - Meg (you make no noise when doing fast vaults or quickly hiding in a locker
- Iron Will - Jake (you produce zero grunts of pain when injured)
- Borrowed Time - Bill (you can safely unhook teammates near the killer as they temporarily get another health state so they won’t go back down instantly)
- Urban Evasion - Nea (your crouching speed is the same as your walking speed)
combine all of those and you’ll be a stealthy player who’s able to lose the killer during chase, but still able to help out your team and go for rescues
-
Wow, people are clearly not understanding the point of this post
it’s not about DC’ing early
it’s not about rage quitting
it’s not about survivor entitlement (I’m a killer main anyway, I only play survivor about 30% of the time)
it’s not about being against slugging so I can’t use hook perks
it’s about being the last survivor left, all others are dead, hatch is either unobtainable, or already closed, decisive strike has been waited out, the killer has won the game…but, instead of hooking and moving on to the next game they decide to essentially “take the game hostage” and do nothing at all and just let you needlessly bleed out for 4 minutes
I’m talking about those situations where the option to instantly bleed out would be a good thing
-
@Tr1nity said:
How to say remove the DC penalty without saying remove the DC penalty
How to say “I didn’t fully read the post” without saying “I didn’t fully read the post”
I specifically said this isn’t about rage quitting, it’s about being the last survivor left alive and the killer refusing to hook because they’re tilted or trolling and instead of just hooking and winning the game instantly they’d rather waste your time and let you bleed out on the ground for 4 minutes, knowing you can’t do anything else
I also said the option should only be available at the half way timer, as to not use it for instantly DC’ing, which you’d have seen if you read the entire post before commenting

Because she needs a brain now and this type of players won't that?
No, it’s because she’s hard countered by survivor perks like Iron Will & Boon: Shadowstep, which are really popular perks at the moment
lack of visual information was always the trade off for speed with her power, so she relied on sound and scratch marks left by survivors, but those two perks completely remove all of so you’re literally blind and deaf every chase,
how are you meant to track someone that you can’t see? Can’t hear? And isn’t giving off any scratch marks? They even removed Fathers Glasses so you can’t even track an injured survivor by blood anymore
old Spirit was really strong yes, and I’ll admit the ‘stand still mindgame’ was a bit BS. But how can you think that survivor perks hard countering a killers entire power is okay?
what’s next? Buffing DH so you can use it while healthy to counter insta- down killers?
buffing Windows Of Opportunity so that it shows Hag and Trapper traps?
perks countering powers is not okay

Looks like we're entering the age of the "fair" survivor play style.
Odds they'll take up the mantle?
No chance lol, somehow I don’t see survivors volunteering to stay back to give the killer one kill similar to how killers would give the last person hatch, instead you’ll be treated to a 4 man teabag and flashlight click followed by a message saying “EZ baby killer”
-
@Voodoo_Thirsty said:
Sorry to say, but this means it's time to adapt.
Whatever you're doing is clearly not working. Simply changing perks will not cut anymore. Practice loops, chases with a friend and learn to not walk in a straight line (to prevent Spine Chill) as a start. I had my share of slumps as killer, but after practicing more and more, I was able to be better and win more, ultimately.
This applies to survivors too.
P.S. Boons are not as bad as people think.
Yes they are, before survivors had to bring medkits to heal themselves and they only had limited use, after the charges were gone you had to rely on a teammate to heal you and time spent healing is time not on generators, or you could bring Self Care and heal at 50% speed
now with Boons you can heal yourself an unlimited number of times at 100% speed, meaning teammates can now stay on gens, the hit and run play style is dead, slugging is now infinity harder due to the ridiculously fast heals, survivors can just fully reset so fast now that the best way to counter this is to make the game a 1v3 as soon as possible

So, hexes are good, boons are bad, even though boons are direct mirror of hexes. Gotcha.
Boons:
can choose your own totem to bless
no visual information to the killer
can never be permanently destroyed
Hexes:
no say where it spawns, could be right near a survivor spawn
maps and perks to easily find them
once they’re gone, they’re gone forever
but yeah “direct mirror”

Direct mirror? One is a ‘one life only’ perk when it’s destroyed and the other can be re applied over and over and over and over again? Tell me how that is a direct mirror?
Survivors can permanently cleanse a totem while killers can only temporarily snuff out a totem before someone else re applies it. How can you possibly think boons and hexes are on equal footing
-
@Junylar said:
What about hexes? Are they fair?
Yes, because one cleanse and it’s gone forever. Hexes are high risk, high reward whilst a Boon perk slot is low risk, high reward as it can be re applied indefinitely
not to mention survivors have maps and totem perks to specifically find hexes easily. Killers have a little bit of sound to detect Boons but only if they’re close enough and a survivor can just hop right back on it to re bless it once they’re gone

As if getting a nurse on midwitch was ever even 1% fair for survivors, or any indoor map that is 100% killer side, I wish all indoor maps get deleted. 🙄 Least boon totems now give survivors a chance indoor maps.
Do you not see the problem though of one Boon covering multiple floors? The killer either has to commit to a nearly impossible chase or travel half way across the map, up the stairs and half way across the map again just to snuff it out. You could be literally 5 feet away from a totem but because it’s on the level above you need to travel 30-40 seconds just to find it, and that’s just one. God help you if there’s multiple Boons up that can just keep being re-blessed all game

Speaking as someone who plays killer about 70% of the time, NOED does feel incredibly cheap to use and even worse to go against, especially if you’ve ran the killer all game then they get in one lucky hit after NOED activates then just camp your body as your teammates leave.
you always feel a sense of reward after you Mori a survivor using Devour Hope because you’ve earned it, but the NOED benefits feel unearned
I personally feel there should be a prerequisite and it shouldn’t be just handed to you, there should be a hook requirement similar to No Way Out (if you want the full length version anyway). This way it would still reward good killers while making it less of a second chance perk for killers that got 0 hooks all game.
-
It’s just frustrating, I’ve only been playing the game a few months and want to try out all these fun builds you see streamers use but can’t as I’ll only have about 5 tier 1 perks for certain characters, then I’ll go against teams with full meta builds just to add insult to injury lol
