  • They nerfed instasaw and a huge amount of Billy players used those addons as a crutch.

I personally won’t play him because of the dumbass groan he does when he takes off. Only bhvr would think this sounds good.

  • As someone who plays mostly survivor, but knows he is better than 90% of the killers out there here are a few tips:

    1. Learn how to play each killer without addons. Too many people only play killers with their best addons and get carried by said addons. If you are good without them, you will be godly with them. No matter what these forums tell you every killer is viable even without addons.
    2. If you cannot hit a survivor or get them to drop a pallet every ~20 seconds in a chase, you are usually making a mistake. Drop the chase and go stop people from doing gens.
    3. There are a lot of good videos on YouTube on how to properly run tiles/shack as killer. Find them and watch them. Every time a killer learns how to run a tile properly one complaint post on these forums magically disappears.
    4. Despite the fact that Stranger Things seasons 2 and 3 are ######### terrible you should play Demogorgon because everyone loves Demogorgon.

    This

  • People don't want the game to be balanced. No one will admit it but they just want their side to have an easier time so they can win more games.

These forums do feel especially full of killer mains most of the time whining about how they aren't getting 4k's each game. They like Genji mains in Overwatch: REALLY good players that are just being held back by their team/survivors are just overpowered!

  • Are we sure it isn't the hook itself that is getting bugged? I had a game earlier where I was unable to unhook someone - the prompt wasn't showing up at all.

  • I don't care about "winning," I care about playing well. If I run the killer all game long but end up dying for it, great.

If I play well but got a ######### map or a good team and only get 0k-1k, also great.

People that sweat for the 4k are the worst kind of people. If you get 3k and someone gets hatch, who cares?

  • Just use the key - it is not toxic?

    Is using noed toxic? No

    Is using DS toxic? No

The only ######### in this game that is toxic is acting like a dick during the match, or the post game chat. Using something in the game cannot be toxic.

  • This depends, do you actually want to have to think/play well to win games or do you want to have easier games that you can just 4Head your way through?

If the former then pick up Demo or Ghostface - Demo is my favorite killer both to play and play against.

If the latter choose PH or Freddy and get ready for some hilariously easy games.

I know this is a hot topic that surrounds characters like Slinger, but honestly his power usage comes at a great cost, which is that if he messes up, he has to reload.

To demonstrate, I was playing a match just now where I would have gone down in a dead zone had it not been for me reading his fake shot, AND then being quick at turning with his actual shot.

    https://media3.giphy.com/media/ekekCqx15mjMYebktE/giphy.gif

    https://media1.giphy.com/media/kz1DTAR2HsC89zR9ZI/giphy.gif

I am not saying in certain situations he isn't almost too strong, but I think much of the complaints come from how misunderstood his power is. I rarely play as him as killer, but even I know that you can still dodge hits even when there are no LoS blockers.

    This is just my opinion.

I mean you said it yourself: "if he messes up, he has to reload."

You are not outplaying Deathslinger: he is messing up. Hoping that he messes up is not counter play.

  • Let Trapper carry 2 traps by default.

I think your wrong and your right.

Right that there should be more reasons to want to play the game.

Wrong that if they didn't punish people for dcing then even more people would do it.

I wasn’t trying to say don’t punish people for DCing. Absolutely punish people who do it a lot. Just trying to say they should be making the game more enjoyable for both sides so people don’t do it so regularly. No one should ever join a game and go “oh ######### it’s Deathslinger” or “I hate Haddonfield,” and then DC. But they do because certain things just aren’t enjoyable to play against/worth the time it would take to play it out.

What is not perfectly fine is to pursue a policy of "no exclusivity" and then say "nah, nah, this stays exclusive, this is different.

I want BHVR to be either be consistent and finish what they have started or back up and restore exclusivity status to given away cosmetic pieces, because otherwise I see what they have done with these cosmetics one big hypocrisy.

Good argument that I can agree with. I’d much rather them revert certain cosmetics back to exclusivity than give everyone legacy but you are right: they have been hypocritical on this.

  • BHVR needs to spend less time trying to punish people for disconnecting against maps/killers they don’t find enjoyable and more time making all of the maps/killers enjoyable to to play on/against/as.

    In a perfect world.

  • As someone who lost legacy 3 Dwight:

People that can prove they had reached P3 before the cut off date via steam achievement and/or video/pictures as proof should absolutely get it back. I know people can hack their steam achievements but I would assume the number of people willing to do this and risk getting banned for a cosmetic would be fairly small. I don’t think legacy should be given to everybody. Legacy skins are status symbol/badge of honor at this point.

I also owned Dweard and was incredibly disappointed when they made it available to everyone.

It is perfectly fine to have exclusive/one time skins in a video game for your long time players.

  • Changes I would like to see:

    1. Rework Iridescent Head completely. If this gets reworked into something else then the Infantry Belt addon is fine.
    2. Fix the awful hitboxes on hatchets. Survivors should not be getting hit around corners. Make the collision detection for terrain the same as it is on survivors. (Currently the hitboxes that collide with survivors is about twice the size as the hitboxes for terrain resulting in hilariously bad hits)
    3. Give the Huntress a crosshair. What were they thinking not adding one for this type of killer?
  • Inaccurate, Jeff is ALWAYS the worst player on the team for some reason.

  • @Blueberry said:

I think you're misusing the word bias. Playing both sides equally and realizing that one side is weaker and needs more help than the other is an analysis, not bias.

Bias would be if you only played one side and had a skewed perspective because of it.

The forums are not killer bias. What it is, is that there are many people that play both sides and realize where balancing is needed. You simply disagreeing with that, does not make them bias.

Also, "but nowadays they arent that strong.".

Yes, they are. No one is arguing survivors weren't stronger in that past, but that does not mean they aren't still too strong, they are. I play both sides at rank 1 and survivor is still very much the power role and I play almost strictly solo queue.

Most people already agree both mori's and keys need reworks as well.

"I'm tired of the us vs them mentality why cant it be just "us."

This is basically how you started this post, which makes it kind of hypocritical.

Lol, this forum is NOT full of people that play both sides equally. This was a solid meme post though.

  • I highly doubt Pop will get nerfed. Also, new Ruin is quite good. Prioritizing gens and pressuring people off them is absolutely devastating when Ruin is up.

  • I'd at least get an Intel Celeron processor and a 2080 Ti but the most important thing is making sure you get a solid operating system like Windows 95.

Or dont put yourself into a bad situation, die, then cry op

    I don't believe I actually said I think PH is op: I don't.

I just think he is a poorly designed killer.

  • @catbeans said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1451973#Comment_1451973

It's not a lose/lose situation you just dont have the game sense to not put yourself into a bad situation.

Explain to me how you can avoid putting yourself in this situation? At some point you WILL get found and have to go through a chase with PH. At some point during said chase you will have to either use a pallet or window and be forced into getting hit by his power or not use a pallet or window and get hit by an m1.

"JuSt DoNt GeT fOuNd, pLaY StEaLtHy!"

  • The only issue with Deathslinger is that he can shoot instantly with no feedback for the survivor. You don't dodge a Deathslinger shot: he misses. Give him a wind up time similar to Huntress or Demogorgon and suddenly he is fine as the survivor has at least some chance to react.

Pyramid Head is just a poorly designed character. Forcing survivors into lose/lose situations with zero chance for counter play is awful character design. Do I drop this pallet/vault this window and get hit by his ability, or do I just keep running and get hit by an m1?

  • I play mostly Demogorgon, but also a bit of Trapper/Wraith/Myers.

They are a bit annoying sometimes but not really that big of a deal. Dead Hard shouldn't ever work more than once to avoid a hit and even then it is easy to play around. The only annoying thing is DH for distance.

I get why people dislike Decisive Strike but unless you plan on tunneling it is not a big deal. I guess it let's people get away sometimes late game when gates are open and you have no choice to pick up and eat it but then again, killers have quite a few annoying "because I equipped the perk" perks.

Unbreakable and BT are perfectly fine as is IMO.

I should also say that I am a killer that always "plays fair" as I know how ######### it is to get camped/tunneled. I don't camp/tunnel/mori in any of my games. I don't get angry if people tbag or use a flashlight. WEIRD RIGHT? When I lose a game I think "what could I have done better?" Instead of blaming surviviors/swf being op.

  • I watched about 90 seconds of your video. You really need to focus on getting better before complaining that survivors need to be nerfed. Yikes

  • Every time someone makes a post like this I think they should be required to post a link to a YouTube video of one of their games to prove to everyone they are actually decent before screaming for nerfs.

  • It is not that Doc is op it is that it feels bad to lose to him because he requires very little thought/skill to play.

  • Because I like proving to my self that all the killer mains that whine about how hard killer is to play on the forums and on reddit are wrong. I play Trapper/Demo/Wraith/Myers and think killer is hilariously easy compared to what it used to be.

  • @Kaitlin814 said:

Killer is easy. Every patch on maps is killer-sided. This is coming from a Trapper main.

I'll take this one a step further.

Most killer mains don't want to get better at the game - they want the game to get easier for them.

Some of the top killer streamers like Zubat/Goose are proof enough that 90% of the time you could have always played better.

1- What do u mean with put pressure? Hurt then, or down then?

2- It's impossible split pressure on split survivors

I find that most people that complain about genrushing tend to tunnel survivors super hard all game. To the point that some will legit walk passed a survivor on a gen while chasing a wounded person instead of removing that person from the gen. I think Goose has the best rule - if you cannot get a hit or a pallet out of the way within 20 seconds of starting a chase, you have made a huge mistake.

  • @USELESS said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1361769#Comment_1361769

At least u cuz even when they are potatos the OWN game gets a hell by itself, pallet hits that came from nowhere, GENRUSHING that is a thing that bhvr dont even have a clue how to deal with (And i think that they arent even trying), also other stuff like the ######### swf that is a fun remover. After a long time playing this game, BHVR seems to care less and less for the killer fun

The key to defeating the almighty enemy, genrushing: play better. Put pressure on the map, split pressure on survivors, protect generators...suddenly you are a better gamer. Amazin'

  • To me "boring" killers are killers that have little room for counter play. Oni, Spirit, Freddy, Gunslinger, Legion all fit this category to some extent with Oni and Spirit being the worst offenders.

Legion: You are going to get hit no matter what. Whatever its fine, Legion sucks either way.

Gunslinger: Eventually even bad killers will hit a shot when they can fire every 5 seconds.

Freddy: Absolutely brain dead in chases

    Spirit: Guessing games. "MIND GAMES"

    Oni: haHAA

    ???

    thas not what i said.

I said you down someone in the open, you only know the whereabouts of ONE survivor(the guy you downed), you pick up said survivor and a second comes out from hiding and does a flashlight save. How is that the killers fault. Also saying "killer is just making really simple decisions like this" makes me feel like you know nothing about playing killer, you have to play around 16 perks, gens, hooks, etc etc

Keep track of who brings a flashlight into the game, if you are worried about it slug that person. On the off chance someone finds a flashlight and just happens to be in a position to sneak up and get that save, congrats that would be the 5% of the time its not your fault.

Also, yes most killers over exaggerate how difficult killer is to play. Half the battle is making simple decisions in situations just like this.

  • @metalklok said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1288342#Comment_1288342

down a survivor in a dead space then someone does a flashlight save. How is that the killer fault? I know you can face walls when picking up but sometimes thats not an option and you can't always know that there is a survivor with iron will crouching in a corner waiting for a save. Whats your option just slug all 4?

Slug that person you downed and chase the flashlight? I dunno, playing killer is just making really simple decisions like this. You have someone down, someone in a chase, someone is going to have to come get the downed survivor back up. You have pressure on 3 survivors in this situation, at most 1 gen is getting done. Sounds ideal to me.

  • Are people still complaining about flashlights in (enter current year here)? At this point if someone gets a flashlight save on you as killer its your fault 95% of the time. Blinded at a pallet? Who cares, be thankful that survivor wasted time blinding you instead of gaining distance.

  • @AlsendDrake said:

I think someone did a recent count of killers and they were usually sub-2 kill games, it's not official stats, but the stats are wildly varying.

Only on the DBD forums will you find people that are willing to accept stats from random people that favor their side of the story over stats from the official developer team. 🙃

  • It's almost like protecting generators should take priority over tunneling that one survivor that you have been chasing for the last 7 minutes.

  • @RakimSockem said:

If you're only getting 2 hooks in the time it takes the survivors to do all 5 gens, you probably just aren't good at the game. Or at least not good at the killer you're trying to play.

Nah dog, this guy is clearly top tier killer. On a completely unrelated note he is also probably a very good Genji player and an expert Yasuo. DANG TEAMS JUST ALWAYS HOLD HIM BACK.

Well, us killers are sick of getting all the nerfs (Freddy rework exception). Almost every balance change is in survivor's favor.

    Survivors complain about PLENTY:

    NOED

    Camping (a non-issue)

    Nurse

    and Spirit.

And that's it. Everything that survivors find challenging to go against, they want nerfed into the ground. It makes us killers not want to deal with you.

    wut

  • Or, and this is just me brainstorming here, you could take the time to learn how to run each tile efficiently and effectively as a killer and improve your overall game play. I believe ScottJund and OhTofu both have videos detailing the various tiles.

  • Tru3Ta1ent suggested this? Well then throw it in, he is completely unbiased!

  • This is actually something they talked about before a long time ago on one of their exciting, info packed, guns blazing dev streams. This was during a time when I believe they said they wanted to make playing killer more "skill based." Lol, kinda went the opposite way with that. 🙃

Either way, this would probably be a bad change overall. There is enough complaining about stupid crap on these forums already.

  • In before "YoU aLrEaDy FaIlEd tO dO gEnS wHy sHouLd yOu gEt a FrEe eScApE?"

  • Explain how increasing the amount of time a game takes is going to make the game less stressful for "both parties."

  • @Coder said:

Don't get me wrong, I'm red rank killer and I 4k almost every match, it's just sometimes you get a 4 SWF optimized on gens and you go like "duuude, calm down, enjoy the match, like 5 minutes queue and you are THAT desperate to hold M1 and escape? come here! let's loop for a bit and have some fun!" and you can't have an ebony or ivory memento mori in advance (unless you already know you're facing a gen rushing SWF), so that mechanic would make you have control over the match and have fun if the survivors are having fun, or start removing survivors if they just come to the match exclusively to press M1 on a gen.

I just love how the power role is ACTUALLY powerful and feared in Deathgarden and I wish it was like that in DBD. I don't fear any killer, other than, maybe a God tier nurse or hillbilly, maybe God Tier spirit. The rest of them... "EZ PZ baby killer", I don't fear them at all.

You "4k almost every match" and you want more power because sometimes you don't?
