Matchmaking that makes sense
-
Match starts.
Survivors split and work on 4 gens.
What? 🤣
-
Years ago when this game had some amount of atmosphere I would have said Ironworks of Misery. Now, despite there being obvious differences between all the maps they somehow all feel the same/boring?
-
Killer mains in DBD always remind me of the rogue in the "world of roguecraft" vanilla wow videos.
-
Why is it killers are so toxic during events? I've had 6 killers intentionally slug the last survivor or hold them hostage in the end game collapse in the last 25 games?
It's not just survivors, its literally everyone that plays this god awful game my dude.

I think it's safe to say that about 99% of twitter comments are either negative or "I don't care, add this"
Everyday there are new forum posts about the game being unfair/unfun or people allegedly quitting the game
It's pretty much confirmed that bhvr does not look at community feedback, at least they don't take that feedback seriously
The DDOS'ing and cheating, the controversial changes to the game, controversial statements
Yet they seem to be pretty happy with the state of the game, according to the statistics probably
y
EDIT: I think I overgeneralized when I said "feedback is getting ignored", a lot of feedback is being looked at and feedback is generally being taken in. It's more so the way feedback seems to get prioritized, if a new killer releases the feedback for that is being taken very seriously, but feedback for older killers or things people have been talking about for years now, seem to be way back in the priority list.
People are not just allegedly quitting the game, they are actually quitting the game. Their usual ploy of "oh ######### we are bleeding players, put the game on sale for 50% off!" isn't working as well as it once did.

I fixed the title for you buddy:
WHEN I PLAY DBD, IT'S LIKE I'M NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE FUN

So, what does one do when they've spent money on something when it was enjoyable, and the game takes a turn to an unenjoyable state, regardless of how you play? Do you just stop playing and say "Oh well, they suckered me, that's my fault." then quit the game? Or complain to let the developers know what's going on?
Yes, quit the game. Literally the best thing you could do at this point. If there was literally anything on the market remotely similar to DBD half the player base would be gone overnight.

Complaining about complaining isn't somehow not complaining. It's like putting a sewer level in your game and having your main character say 'oh wow, a sewer level'.
If you don't want to engage with my little rant, feel free not to.
Thanks for the bump though :).
I did engage: don't care about what other people think. You might actually enjoy the game then. You paid money for this game, do whatever you want. If you wanna tunnel go for it, if you wanna camp, bring marshmallows. It literally doesn't matter as long as you enjoy yourself.
-
You payed for this game so literally just play the game how you want. Don't care about what people say and you will be happier for it. We really don't need another "I main killer, woe is me" post.

Is there really any version of DBD that doesn't have these issues? I really don't think there is.
There has always been issues with DBD. The difference with DBD then vs now is that the game used to be fun despite the issues.

Stats aren't very useful if you don't understand statistics. Which I doubt anyone here has a masters in statistics or something.
Ok.

You mean like Nurse's and trickster's?
O wait no one is losing their minds about that!
Did you even look at the stats?
Did anyone say these killers didn't need a buff? What?

I still don't trust stats.
What's not to trust about them? Is this some grand conspiracy from bhvr? Does jet fuel melt steel beams? DID WE LAND ON THE MOON?

because they don't.
If Bhvr showed escape rates were anything above 50% killer mains would lose their minds with how much the stats mattered. But not if they show kill rates.
:^)
-
Lol? Why are killers such special snowflakes that they would need to be rewarded more even after winning the game?
-
Buddy, you can't talk about kill rates on the killer forums. EvErYoNe KnOwS tHeY dOnT mEaN aNyThInG!
-
Bhvr's idea of attracting new players for the last 2 years has been simply putting the game on sale for 50% off every time they start to bleed players.
-
In terms of bugs? Probably not. In terms of everything else? Yes.

Ok

Survivors are now OP AGAIN, Why?, It takes 3 hits to down someone if they have dead hard and on top off that DS they can get away.
Iv ran into cheaters since this new "Skill based matchmaking", The games are not fun AT ALL, They suck, I'm getting groups who are just flat out gen rushing, Just had a game were the game lasted around 3 mins max, Yes 3 MINS!
I was chasing someone and about 3 gens went off instantly, They had a full gen rushing build on, Even with new parts they then are still moaning because "Freddy" is boring ???
I'll take things that never happened for 500
-
Is anyone having fun anymore? I'd like to think the answer is probably not.

To be fair, the Killer community is quite sensitive. Way more than the Survivors.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2605304#Comment_2605304
I have not had any issues so far. Let alone that the person I quoted did not mention anything in that regards, only that DH was fine for them before the Bugfix. Which leads to the conclusion that Survivors are allowed to have bugged perks. :)
Sensitive is really the perfect word to describe the killer community. Dead Hard is a solid perk but it remains pretty easy to play around/bait out.

@Dwigtht said:
In the current state, when boon totems have unlimited blessings and hide your aura and scratch marks... congrats, you have a permanent counter to aura reading perks, including BBQ and Chilly. This is definitely good for you, but... is this good for the person on the hook?
I guess not; as a killer, when I hook a survivor and check where other survivors are and see any aura readings, what would I think?
I would think all survivors are within BBQ blind range, so why would I go and check the opposite side of the map? No reason.
So I am gonna camp when I do not intend to. Don't get me wrong, I think camping is a beautiful killer tool, but there are cases when I want to camp and when I camp just because I don't see where else I can go.
So, thank you, shadow step. I shall use you with Sole Survivor when I am gonna play survivor next time!
Just kick bones dawg
-
If this was happening in the main game it would no doubt have been bugged on release and need to be extended by a week. :^)

There is nothing of information or past experiences that make me belive for one second that they would actually care to do anything about these issues. It only affects the minority of their playerbase. Besides, the main problem isn't the scream and the blood, its the actually gameaffecting slowdown that is the problem. The scream and the blood is just an extra slap in the face.
If you are missing a swing because of Dead Hard it may look like you are going through the full 3 second successful attack animation but it is not. It may play that animation but the delay only lasts for the 1.5 seconds of a missed attack animation. It is no different than if you just swung and missed normally. I believe ScottJund did a video recently showing this.

Survivors have gotten nothing but nerfs since the game came out...
You have to remember most of the people whining about survivors being op didn't actually play back in the day when survivors were actually op. Killer has never been easier to play than it is right now but if you don't 4k every game its a feelsbad and need to go make posts on the forums.
-
The dream.

There is an event going on. Everyone knows you need to play like a dick during an event. 😑

God I hope so

@fogdonkey said:
What would happen if only one survivor would be allowed to escape?
This change would spice up the game a bit. At the start the survivors need to cooperate to not get killed. But as we get to the end of the game they need to get more and more selfish.
What do you think? Any ideas how could this concept work?
How would this be different than it is now? :^)
I legit always let the last person go, I know its a feelsbad to play anything except for 4 man swf right now.
-
Someone needs to say it. Ahem, it has never been easier to play killer than it is right now. I know its tough to admit, but you probably just aren't very good if you are struggling as a killer right now.
-
I don't think everyone that run these perks are necessarily bad, but I do think that all bad players seem to run these perks. There are a lot of people that get carried by their perks in this game, and most people are not as good as they think they are because of this.

The devs already said that Nemesis not giving a speed boost to survivors when infecting them was not fun to go against. And I agree that shouldn't be changed. There should be enough incentive to get vaccinated against Nemesis. And he is already pretty damn strong in chases.
I think it's the Zombie Ai that needs to be improved, allowing for more map pressure. I feel like that would be enough to make him perfectly balanced and viable.
Pinhead I personally still disagree. It's still early though, but I feel like he is already pretty strong. Buffing his chains in any impactful way I feel would make him too oppressive in chases. Which would be a shame in my opinion, because we don't need more killers like that.
His chains aren't always a net benefit, but their average use case is strong enough in my opinion. Being able to break chains on objects is nice counterplay for survivors in my opinion. the only thing they could maybe do is increase the chain break animation from 1 second to 1.2 seconds, but I fear like that could already end up being too strong in open areas.
Honestly, zombie AI is fine. It's easy to say it needs to be improved when you don't actually see the value it provides. It forces survivors off of generators/totems/chests/etc all the time for no other reason than you are playing Nemesis. His kit already outmatches several other killers without the zombies. I feel like they were added in for no other reason than to have zombies in the game because Resident Evil.

I've noticed in the several matches I tried this morning that survivors have no incentive to win because the chances are too low. Ruin, Tinkerer, NOED, BBQ, and so many oppressive perks and all you got is games that feed on altruism and then die. Killers downing too easily and winning with virtually no effort at all. Killers such as Leatherface are way too easy to use. A 1-shot that has no skill requirements is not good. Wraith with uncounterable lunges. This is extremely bad for the game.
Something should be done about that. Survivors need some buffs or killers need nerfs. More pallets, larger maps, more dense fog? Killers balanced for a coordinated genrush leaves out a huge demographic in the game: the solo survivors and the casual swf.
Shhh. These are the killer forums we don't post stuff like this here. The only thing people wanna see here is posts complaining about how OP survivors are or posts with screenshots showing people being salty after someone played like an #########.
-
There haven't been very many good things in DBD in a few years. Bring me back to the first patch where they removed pallet vacuums.
-
Playing killer and crutching on your best addons. Every. Single. Game.

No one should see anything before the match begins

As a survivor: any killer that has boring "I pressed the button" chase mechanics such as Spirit, Hag, Clown, Deathslinger and a few others. The most interesting killers to play against are Demogorgon, Blight and Billy.
As a killer: I really only play Demogorgon, Trapper and Myers. To be honest its pretty boring to play killer and I can't really stand to play it for more than a few weeks at a time every few months because its so unbelievably easy compared to what it used to be.

@Directflare said:
Now play against a competitive dbd survivor team
Lol you say this as if it happens so often. Killer is easy unless you play against a competitive team? Ok so like .05% of the time its hard?
-
The two main things that will separate good from bad survivors is good survivors know that doing gens is always 100% the priority. Not doing totems, not opening that chest or urban evading around the edge of the map every time they hear a heartbeat. The second thing is they will be good about chaining loops and tiles together to get the most value out of the limited resources on the map.

OP: "why is it like this?"
Person: "Killers need it to be or they'll complain."
Actual reason: "No actually it was because of bad survivor behavior"
You: "His words are always true."
I mean he's literally wrong but sure lol
Ok. You missed the point/joke.
-
If a tree falls in the forest with no one around to hear does it make a sound?
If a killer queues up for a game and doesn't bring in his best addons, did he even play a game of killer?
Events are unbearable for survivors.
-
To be fair, while playing solo queue survivor is ######### awful - playing solo queue survivor during an event is almost unbearable. I have yet to play a single game this event that didn't have the killer with best addons/perks and playing like a scumbag.
