  • In a meta where we see red/purple addons and/or a mori nearly every game, lets give killers...more..of...them?

  • The 16 perks vs 4 perks meme is getting a bit old.

The long-standing problem of Dead by Daylight, which keeps causing fierce battles within the Community, can be summarized in the formula "a well-organized team ridicules a good killer, a good killer pulverizes four solitary and uncoordinated survivors".

The solution, in theory easy, is to raise the solos to the level of the SWF, then to strengthen the killer, so they can face, without being scared, the teams that act like a swarm, skilled in the loops, ready to blind and bodyblock to deny a hook, devastating totems in a matter of seconds and often inclined to gen rush.

    MY PROPOSAL:
    A) Survivors earn Kindred 3 as a passive skill, with a 16-meter killer's Aura reading range (this being the distance, decided by the developers, at which the emblem penalty for camping is triggered);
    B) the killer gains NOED, limited to the Exposed status (no movement speed bonus), as a passive skill for 120 seconds after the last gen has been repaired, if there are 4 survivors still alive, or for 60 seconds, if there are 3 survivors left;
    C) Kindred and NOED perks are reworked as follows.

    NEW KINDRED.

Unlocks potential in one's Aura-reading ability.

The Entity has given you the gift of telepathy, to communicate with your companions and increase the hopes for survival.

Start the trial with 3/4/5 Tokens.

Press the Active Ability button to consume a Token and leave a mark on the ground. The mark's Aura can be seen by all the Survivors for 20/25/30 seconds, but it's invisible to the Killer.

    NEW NOED.

A Hex rooting its power on hope. You are animated by the power of your Hex Totem when the Survivors are on the verge of escaping.

Once the Exit Gates are powered, if there is a Dull Totem remaining on the Map, this Hex is applied to it.

While this Hex is active, during a Chase, the Entity blocks a window for 20 seconds after the first vault and prevents the pallets to be dropped. The windows are blocked only for the vaulting Survivor. The pallets drop is prevented for 1/2/all Survivors.

The Hex effects persist as long as the related Hex Totem is standing.

This reform could both reduce the balance issue and guarantee a thrilling endgame for both parties. :)

So now the killer has NOED AND we can't drop pallets? LOL

You clearly are 12 and what is this.

    1. There are no servers. The game is Peer-to-Peer connection for now, which means your internet or your host's internet (the Killer's) is garbage. The only thing this game does network-wise is try to match you to suitably-ranked hosts, neglecting the connection quality.
    2. The game is unbalanced, yes, but depending on what is brought into the game depends on who it's in favor of. Currently, Survive With Friends groups are favored in most games, while Killers are favored with the strongest, meta perks and a Momento Mori (kill after hook secret offering).
The devs don't favor any side— just look at the patch notes.
    3. The game isn't free, though with the introduction of the store it should move to the FtP model already.
    4. If you have to state you are "pretty damn good," you probably aren't.

Why don't you try making some friends and playing SWF and constantly squeak positional information with them via Discord or whatever, and see how easy it really is against most killers.

Most of the time it is still pretty easy as long as you have some sort of situational awareness tbh.

  • There are a lot of poorly designed/poorly thought out perks in the game, but as for unhealthy design:

NOED and DS are the obvious go-to ones to name.

Ruin: I think this the worst offender here. It is unbelievably punishing for new players. It makes the dead weight on your team even heavier. Half the time less skilled players won't even power through a gen, instead they spend all their time walking around looking for the totem. Not to mention that it promotes survivors to do solo generators (this is efficient for survivors and bad for killers).

Bamboozle: Why learn how to properly play certain tiles when you can just 4Head your way through a window?

Rancour: Add a 120 second timer to the exposed effect and this perk would be fine.

Sprint Burst: Extends every chase by 10-15 seconds, no activation requirement needed.

  • I mean is it still worth playing? Sure if you like the game. Is the event good? No. Somehow they still fail to realize that the only thing most players actually care about during events is significant amounts of bonus/extra bloodpoints.

  • Didn't this map have like a 34% survival rate when they showed stats a few months back? Don't we have other things we could complain about?

  • The one time use flashlight is op.

    First:
    You can hide.
    Second:
Nurse is the only killer with skill impact.
If the killer player have more skill than the survivors, then he can win the game.
The other 12 killers dont have this.
The killer player can have more skill than the survivors, but when he play Pig(just an example), he can still lose the game.

Absolutely. I never lose because survivors are better than me when I play killer, its because survivors are op. I'm actually a really good killer player! I swear!

On a side note, I'm also a really good Genji player, my team just holds me back!

  • This is the killer forum, take your awful ideas to the survivor one!!!11one

On a side note, yeah, its really REALLY bad. I P3 all perks Myers a few weeks ago. I literally found an ebony mori or an ultra rare addon on nearly every bloodweb after level 50. No ######### probably 70% of them. Meanwhile everytime I p3 all perk a survivor im lucky to find 1-2 rainbow maps and maybe 3-4 purple flashlights. In addition to the bloodpoint mess the rarity difference is real.

  • If you have to dribble them more than twice you shouldn't be dribbling them in the first place.

Just curious - how many hours do you have in the game?

  • When/how did they nerf dribbling exactly? Yes NOED can be countered, just like DS can as I have shown in my post. None of those counters seem reliable enough to you though because of other survivors putting themselves in harms way, 2 rare perks and Enduring ONLY being 55%. (still extremely good vs DS) Maybe I'm just a god killer and DS doesn't effect me the way it does you mere mortals.

  • And DS doesn't? You can dribble, you can slug, you can drop people off of ledges with it so they get momentarily stunned, you can run enduring, they could simply miss the skill check... Do you really think DS is that bad? It's hilarious when people whine about DS to me when perks like Sprint Burst or Adrenaline exist. I love it when people run DS because it is so ridiculously predictable. The only time it is an issue is when more than one person runs it. (Not because of multiple DS - because you can't predict that they have it.)

I've destroyed several killer's momentum through DS and made them lose everything halfway through the match. Cheers to another year of unbalanced gameplay!

And i've downed several DS users in less than 15 seconds, guess this works both ways.

people who say that DS isn't fundamentally broken and unfun to play against are either being disingenuous or are poor survivors

people who say that DS is broken are either being disingenuous or are poor killers. Few times DS has been an issue to me.

even 15 seconds can lose a game

    @yeet
And i can lose a game even if it's 0 seconds, what's your point? I'm not gonna win every match and that's fine.

losing merely because person picked X perk isn't good game design

Many perks make the difference between losing and winning depending on the situation. DS is not different, can be useful sometimes and other times survivors die without having the chance to use it.

I don't understand what the issue is here? Why do so many killers have an issue with survivors being able to continue to harvest flowers (without getting extra vials) after their initial 30? Can survivors participate in the event for its entire duration too? Killers can continue to get their 5.5k point hooks after they get their initial 30 vials, so why cant survivors? Is it just that they are the other side? We can't all have an enjoyable time?

Are you serious? You are legitimately acting like this isn't the first balanced event. You kniw what happened most other events? Killers got cucked by survivors, over and over. Body blocking event hooks, saboing event hooks, tricking the killer to farm with them then after getting theirs, running away from event hook areas.

It isn't so much the fact I think the way they handeled the BP for this event is fair, I don't think it's that fair. I think it's dumb you stop interacting once you have all 30, as if survivor side isn't meager enough in return. But the thing is, survivors are crying like they just lost their first born child to this event. The level of whine over matter here is gross. Most survivors aren't even bothering with the offering on ps4 which is really annoying. Just enjoy it and shut up or don't, it has almost no bearing on most games from what I've played, aside from the ones everyone wants to farm in.

Literally all I am saying is why can survivors not continue to get the extra blood points for the event? Why can killers continue to get theirs? Hell, lets make it so killers cant get their extra blood points for hooks after they get their 30 vials. Would that be better? Of course not because I am assuming you play killer mostly right?

  • And before you even comment yes, even survivor hit boxes!

  • @Maximus7 said:
Yes, because when coming up with fair and balanced hitboxes, you always make it so it's exactly how the object looks. Because they totally did that in fighting games, shooters, and DBD.
Give an actual argument instead of some sarcastic bullshit next time.

Uhh...what? I'd like to think that accurate hit boxes are important in all games.

  • So the thing that would look like a tall, narrow as hell rectangle while it was flying at you is now a tall, narrow as hell rectangle while it is flying at you?

  • I guess rank isn’t directly related to skill, more time than anything but at least at high ranks you are more likely to have killers that know when to break pallets or survivors who don’t hide in lockers half the game.
  • Wolf74 said:

    @shyguyy said:
Rank reset is literally the worst part about this game. I have never heard a single person with anything positive to say on the subject. Why can it not be every 3 months? Once at the start of every chapter?

You are a survivor main, right?
Because survivor like to be high ranks, because even without SWF they have a better chance of good teammates and better chance to survive and bully the killer.
But for killer it is a pain in the rear to be at high ranks.
Without the regular rank reset my guess is, must killer would just stop playing. completely.
Enjoy your lobby time than. :P

I do not enjoy bullying low rank killers nor do I enjoy smashing baby survivors. I would rather they do away with ranks completely, or adopt some sort of system similar to league of legends or overwatch but I’d settle for 3 month resets.
  • Try playing the game for fun, because this is not a competitive game.
