Well, my guess is as a killer player maybe they have no ######### clue what the survivor you're mad at actually did.
So while you feel what they did was a crime worthy of posting about it, the killer probably doesnt have any idea about what you're angry at.
Or maybe it IS because they know the survivor is new and want to give them a break. Not everyone feels the appropriate response to an obviously new player is to humiliate them, waste as much of their time as possible once the game is essentially over, then shout all the slurs. All of them. Every one.
-
The secret is to ramble on about something not related. I find people get angry and leave chat fairly quickly when all they get out of me is quoting I Want It That Way in its entirety.
Its intresting to see how far through the song someone will stop telling me to kill myself.

IF you go into a lobby with like 4 med kits or 4 flashlights; and get Franklins or Lightborn you honestly shouldn't complain that's of course what is going to happen sometimes.
I adore Lightborn due to how quickly it can turn 1 down into 3 dc's.
-
Ttv is probably the worst thing I see in game. If I see ttv I'll either dodge or if I am in a terrible mood I'll altF4 during loading.
If I don't notice till I'm in game I'll usually just walk around the barrier of the map or if I can spam my secondary for points I'll do that while I am walking.
-
Pc and playing killer on Ormond is a lost game for me since the updates. I just keep frame dropping so hard that chases probably look like I gave up and swung at the air three seconds later.

I don't know if I necessarily agree that there is no "fix." I think if you find a way to help the Killer when they don't camp and hurt the Killer when they do and then make sure that it can't be abused by either side, that could go a way to moving things away from camping at least a bit. That said, OP's suggestions are a no-go for me.
The only real mechanical fix that I can think of would be to make getting hooked have a minimum sit out timer or make being unhooked similar to being picked up from the dying state.
If the killer can leave the survivor and know that they have that person down for 20+seconds hard camping and likely slugging would slow down quite a bit.
Tho none of that would be necessary if survivors could just do gens. As while there are lots of players who camp regardless, it's even more likely for the player to get bored and leave if there aren't any survivors dive bombing the hook after 15 seconds.
Even when I have kindred...
-
Survivors who clearly hang around the hook than complain about how killers are camping should suffer an escalating bp and emblem penalty untill they get marginal bp and bronze emblems.
It would be far more effective then that ridiculous disconnect penalty.

There is no rulebook for either side. Plsy how YOU choose.
But, I think both sides can agree some things are less than fun and borders on unsportsmanlike.
Sure you can DS a killer into a head on stun then a flash light blind.
Sure you can tunnel one survivor out the game with 5 gennys left.
Is it against the rules. NO. Is it fun or sportsmanlike?
Do you need a rulebook to tell you that?
Issue Is how often trying to be nice leads to being treated like crap. Slugging at death hook early on is something I do if I think someone is new. Issue is when you get a potatoe that doesn't understand you're being nice, not "toxic" and they act like massive shitheads who don't get the only reason why they got to live another three gens is because you let them.
It can be fine most times but when you're having a bad day and you feel like you had a good game only to have someone go off it can just be a little frustrating to say the least.

Yes and no.
Our book, insofar as I've learned, consists of like, 3 or 4 things.
-Don't genrush.
-Don't butt-dance.
-Don't clicky.
-Don't DS when we aren't tunnelling you.
Eh, and i'd add a few addendums to that.
-Don't genrush, then complain about short games.
-Don't butt dance, then complain about the killers head moving in any direction ever.
-Don't clicky, then complain I tunneled you. You asked for my attention, don't throw a fit because you got it.
-Don't act like DS is some big brain high skill move or that using it makes you a victim. You got unhooked and decided thinking was to hard and ran while watching tik tok on your phone.

Id like to see the numbers when a rank 1 killer faces rank 1 survivors. Do you know how often i get red ranked potato survivors?
Id also like to see hooks instead of kills.
Hooks really does interest me more considering playing freddy can guarantee a 2k just from survivors immediately killing themselves.

This, if anyone has any please inform, would love to watch a good horror anime if there are any out there.
I can recommend Another, Yamishibai, the Junji Ito collection, and Shiki.
Death Note is not horror. It's supernatural crime drama.
Edit: Just wanted to add that I liked death note, its just not horror. Realized how weeb trash the second paragraph sounded xD.

Is there any good horror anime that would fit with DBD?
Tomie. I'd like another killer that works by screwing with people's heads. Also her Mori could be giving the survivor a knife to kill themselves with.
Honestly Junji Ito has lots that can work.
-
I mean... I don't understand why people want that at all. I'm fat, like unhealthy fat, largely as a consequence of my depression. It's something I struggle with and am constantly trying to deal with.
While I am completely a supporter of not shaming people for their weight there is nothing to celebrate when it comes to obesity. It's not anymore cool or sexy than a person with the opposite problem. Most overweight people don't over eat because of a conscious decision to be fat. It's because of mental health based compulsions or poverty making it hard to get healthy food.
So, no. No we do not need people with eating disorders and unhealthy body types.

It's funny hearing it from the killer viewpoint. I have ranted about this to other survivors. When I am on the hook, don't loop the killer around me.
I think they are still focused on getting their altruism points rather than getting the hooked survivor rescued.
Its a major reason why the camping/tunneling arguments are pointless. Most of the time the killer prioritizes targets by vulnerability. Quite frequently a survivor isn't camped or tunneled out of spite or lack of skill on their behalf. It's just how ######### ended up and killers have no reason to be nice.
Especially since being nice is rarely recognized as that, and treated as incompetence.
-
For the same reason why survivors call killers campers or tunnelers when they do give up the chase and go for the easier target.
Neither side wants to "lose" the encounter not realizing that's stupid. The killer wants to win so they feel better than you so they over commit. The survivor wants to feel superior by looping the killer for five gens and throws a tantrum because you wont play along.
They will eventually learn, or be an easy escape/kill.
-
Realism is a bad argument. Being blinded doesn't cause me to lose muscle strength. If someone was trying to blind me I'd shut my eyes and my grip on whatever I'm grabbing would get tighter. You can't argue realism in a video game because so little is realistic. Like how the ######### can I break a pallet by kicking it, but someone could break out of my grip in like 10 or so seconds.
In real life I'm not what you'd call fit and I can and have disabled violent people at work through simple holds and leverage. How the ######### does trapper struggle... ever? If I can pin a real life Crack head to the ground then drag their fighting ass to the exit pretty sure the majority of killers wouldn't have any issue carrying a survivor anywhere.
-
You are concerned about people who will in the vast majority of cases waste your time at exit gates so they can call you every insult they learned if you are both on the same platform.
Play in a way that makes YOU happy. If it's not against the rules who cares. Don't spout off like teenage Hitler and you're golden.
Seriously, if you wanna play by the survivors rule book go ahead, after a few dozen pleas for you to uninstall and commit suicide because you lost following their rules you'll come to the same conclusion.
Play in a way that makes YOU happy.
The other side sure doesn't give a single ######### about you.

Nope, Pc. Hell today a legion main with pink addons helped me find hatch because two people dc'd.
As crazy as it sounds the worst most killers do to me is just face camp. I rarely ever get angry killers in chat. Either a gg or get called a scrub or git gud. If someone's gonna do the ######### up ######### to me it's survivors... Luck of the draw and all.

When they slash you on hook, and stare deep into your eyes as they nod sweet nothings your way... it's more than likely the overcooked mcnugget needed to let you know they are the boss.
Not a good first date, swiping right next time.
Eh, I don't get that very often when I play survivor. I occasionally cost killers games by getting a lucky loop they won't disengage from and by all means we have a tea party at the hook. I just usually feel it's more just resigned annoyance than dick waving.
Usually when I drop a gg they lighten up.

Yes and no... if gens are popping, it's a lost game and they will tunnel you to prove they are better. Not better than the other 3 players, just better than the person who lost them the game.
I feel it's more often that the killer realizes they're screwed so they might as well get the one kill than the no kill, and I mean... you know where that survivor is.

But it's longer to wait for the match to load, run around and do totems in case the killer has noed, do all gens and try to goad me into chasing them. I don't mind alt+tabbing to so I can watch WandaVision or plenty of anime choices.
It's the classic dilemma, time or money. You can waste more time loading into the game and just ignoring them, or you can deprive them of easy bp by closing it on them during loading screen.
It boils down to what you consider the biggest middle finger.

Ohhhhh you're trolling. Hehe good one you got me xD.

There is no moral obligation to play either side regardless of wait times. It's just pretty annoying to see people complain on the forum that times are long then refuse to do anything about.
Don't wanna play killer? That's perfectly fine, just don't complain when your wait times are long. Either help fix it or deal with it. I can respect people who put up with it, can't for people that refuse to help fix the problem they are mad about. Not that my respect means jackshit.

Nah, you simply should've waited next to those two to let DS run out. It was obvious one of them had DS, that's why they crawled together. They tried to outplay you with a cheap trick but hey, they succeeded.
But didn't you hear? Slugging is toxic and a hate crime. No seriously if you don't immediately pick them up so they can use ds you're being toxic and that makes it justifiable to harass the killer by any means that you have. Not saying it's okay, but if a survivor doesn't have fun that's being toxic and therefore you had it coming and were asking for it.
/s for anyone that needs it.

I dont know if its killer dependent but I find with Trapper, wraith, clown,Freddy you can just back up and the pickup will, usually, appear if it won't when walking forward.

Lots of killers lobby dodge a lot, I've seen small time streamers lobby dodge like 15 times in a row, because they didn't like the fact that the survivors had flashlights, or they had a key, or they suspected them of being a SWF team. Not only there's a shortage of killer players but the fact a lot of them lobby dodge a bunch of times makes queue times longer. Maybe they should not allow killers to know what items the survivors are carrying.
Pretty sure you'd just get a lot of killers completely giving up playing, likely altogether.
-
I'm gonna be honest. I came back to this game recently, about four months ago. I come back off and on. I try my absolute hardest to remain positive, and night games have broken me.
Since those hours are usually the time I can play, I've started doing little more than trolling.
I have a build called Casper the passive aggressive ghost. Essentially it's built around maximizing my points while depriving the survivors from as many as possible. I don't need to kill anyone to get around 15k+, more if I had BBQ and chili unlocked on the character, and generally the night survivors who play against me lose more bp than they bring in. Oh and that chat is very funny now as I have learned hownto drive those people nuts if they say anything.
Its honestly the only victory to be had a lot of nights. It's also way less stressful to commit to being an ######### than to being a literal clown for random pricks who will spit in your face anyways.

Its really not as huge an issue as you'd think. I've spent the last two days just sneaking up on people with wraith. No matter how open the map I can get right up on someone before I go bingbong, especially if they are on a gen.
Stealth is really, really not the wraith's issue.

They could compensate in other areas like make being asleep be more detrimental. If you are asleep, you heal much slower, etc
No, slowing down survivors is unfun and fairly toxic. It's essentially holding the game hostage. Being asleep should only be a condition for Freddy being able to hit his targets to begin with. I don't know why they didn't do that to begin with but considering the buff to undying/clown/trapper/wraith/iron maiden while they nerfed the absolute hell out of open handed and its pretty damn clear who the devs favour in this game....
-
@Sluzzy said:
I agree the sleep timer should go. Like in the old Freddy, he should have to apply effort to put someone to sleep, either pulling someone to sleep or hitting you.
Secondly, teleporting to the survivor objective should go. I believe this is what makes him so overpowered the most. Slowdown perks, aura perks on him are insane.
Make his lullaby directional sound.
His dream pallets and snares need to go as well. As a survivor trying to use a pallet and it's fake is unfun and let's be honest extremely toxic. Same with snares. Putting snares in narrow areas or behind vaults its unfair and unfun since there is 0 counter play. As it is pallets and snares are just toxic, unfun and require no skill.
As with putting people to sleep it has to be an ability. I'd say at least 10 seconds to put them to sleep that resets if the Survivor can get 4m away, vaults, or gets out of LoS. As well since Freddy is harder to see while survivors are awake Freddy shouldn't be able to hit survivors until they are asleep.
Honestly, I think that kind of Freddy would likely still be op but it's honestly the best that can be done.

I don't like the Wraith buff either. I always wanted them to buff his movement speed because without windstorm he is atrocious, him being invisible past 24m doesn't do anything for me.
But I'm only saying this because OP's statement is objectively not true and people need to stop saying such dumb things like this. "the devs don't care about the other role" can the people who genuinely think this is true take a step back and think long and hard about that statement. If they truly didn't care, this game would be dead and 75% of the killers in this game would be unplayable or have never received any kind of changes or buffs. Yes, they're very slow with certain changes and we get maybe 3 quality of life updates every year, but to say they don't care is ridiculous
Your post doesn't help. Trying to disprove a side through exaggeration and deceit just makes you look foolish at best and a liar at worst.
-
@ALostPuppy said:
And that's why Clown and Wraith are getting buffed, getting a hook counter and iron maiden getting a buff..
But yeah no you're totally right, they don't care at ALL about the other side. These darn developers not caring about killers. Idk if you've noticed, but maybe the reason why they're nerfing the dumb killer perks is so they can make changes to killer mechanics, so the killer has more of a chance to win with their power and not rely on Undying as their only win condition?
Wraith buff isn't that amazing. Most survivors I face just stare at the gens until SC goes off. Seriously I have never had problems sneaking up on a survivor as is.
Clown remains to be seen.
The above two also would only count if you played those characters. Killers aren't just skins, they play differently. So if you dont use them it doesn't apply to you.
A hook counter is not a buff. I don't know how it could be considered one.
Iron maiden is good.
So... I mean undying got a pretty hard nerf and iron maiden got an okay flat buff.
Seriously you're both making far, far to much of this. Though it is funny to think of future posts trying to argue hook counter to op plz fix. Maybe killers should have to hook everyone once before it activates.
-
I dont get it often either, which is why a lot of us hate it. Someone gets unhooked and sprints to a gen. I go by said gen and down them, at which point ds goes off because I was in a chase and didn't count to sixty.
Thats why killers think its bullshit. Have it deactivate when the survivor performs an action. That way it still protects you from a tunnel and doesn't give you a 60 second shield.
And yes, I've 4kd plenty of teams that had DS. I've lost horribly to teams that didn't. It's just extremely frustrating to deal with as it can result in some bullshit where the reason why you lost is because you didn't just slug everyone and camp.
Which makes it very appealing to slug and camp.

I do that with clown all the time. Add some spies in the shadows and you got yourself a party.

Even when I don't have NC, I can still hear them whimpering. Tunneling is quite frequently effective when your enemy assumes you're an idiot.

Survivors being nearby should nullify punishment. Punishment still needs to properly exist though
That still wouldn't work because then survivors trying to stealth save will be given away. I will frequently stalk a killer with a survivor on their shoulder and hide close by. If you actually are sneaky it's a good tactic. Survivors shouldn't be given away for actually sneaking successfully.
Punishments rarely work in games. Ask any dm what happens when you keep telling your players no. You would have to fix it to reward both players, and that would involve changing the mechanics like having a hook or down be a fixed time out instead of a potential kill each time.
