Not even bleeding them out for 4 minutes while you headbang to #IceNineKills ?

While obnoxious its not really toxic. Getting upset about it and engaging in post game abuse is toxic.

I reckon bleeding out is thematic so it doesn't bother me at all.

  • Why is it immature to hit someone hanging on the hook?

Surely its more immature to be upset about something so silly.

  • The stronger survivors get one on one the less productive it is for killers to chase them.

You want kills you get them by camping and tunnelling is most circumstances.

Strong killers with unpredictable powers make for scary interesting chases. Not many killers fall into that box. As survivor you have so many tools at your disposal to extend chases and recover health states that this is the end result.

All those players whining about balance have created this meta.

  • Honestly I don’t bother anymore. It’s not up to me to police others behaviour. I just play and move on.

There is such a massive population of people who are just unpleasant to play with in this community that the only real fix to the toxicity will be bots.

    please make custom bots.

  • Yeah I’m not a fan as he always tries to add some element of abusive past to justify why the killer does what they do.

Micheal was spooky, a true bogeyman, because he just silently stalked and killed and was really just evil.

Trying to add some deeper artsy back story to it undermines his character and waters down the horror. It’s why I’m not a fan of Zombie’s remakes in general. It’s like he doesn’t get what makes the character iconic and scary in the first place.

  • While people will get used to the game I don't really agree with the desensitization point because that's not really how it works.

Fear in the game comes from threat of elimination, once you are eliminated you are out and that's that. This upsets people when they get eliminated early or feel they didn't get to play. So the threat of elimination is watered down by so called "balance" to allow people to get a full game.

You'll see most of the killers here that people list as scary are ones that either suppress terror radius or can pop out of nowhere at you. If more killers had less "tells", higher unpredictability and suppressed terror radius, they would just be inherently scarier even in the hands of mediocre players.

So at the moment, killers are not really that surprising and have a lot of predictability about them. Which kills the threat and generally kills the scare factor.

Have you ever watched the same horror film 100 times? It gets less scary right? Same happens here if you’ve played the game for 1000s of hours

The entity uses both sides to feed off emotions

I think it stems from more than just replay, it’s the theme promoting this horror survival game of big scary killer hunting down the survivors. The reality is though its kinda more like slightly gory party tag.

What makes it scary is the threat of death. But it’s also an elimination game and people cry when the get eliminated.

So the tools that make the game scary, Insta moris, strong unpredictable killer powers get hit with the nerf bat because it’s not fair to get taken out so early and we end up with Scooby Doo loopy chase rather than horror slasher film.

It’s not meant I be fair that’s the problem. It’s kind of supposed to be unfairly balanced to killer otherwise it’s not scary. Calls for balance dilute the horror element and make the game more tedious, less fun and less scary.

When I queue as survivor I want to have little chance of escape because that’s thematic, pulse pounding and scary but the truth is it’s so easy to run loops around most killers that it’s just a yawn fest.

    Survive by daylight.

Also to keep it on topic asking for the devs to apologise is ridiculous. I’d rather they stay true to the theme and make the game scarier. Less cues, less tells, more unpredictability, killers you feel you have to hide from or can pop out of nowhere. Not gameplay where your goal is to just waste as much time as possible or sit on a gen while someone else wastes as much time as possible running around the same rock 4 times.

Tunneling is actually against the rules and both are considered toxic. Both are considered underhanded so why is ok for the killer to be toxic and underhanded but not ok for survivors to be toxic? I would never encourage someone to send a nasty message to someone after loosing a match. If some killer or survivors were toxic I would simply block them or report them if they say inappropriate, vulgar or dangerous things to me. But on many occasions as a killer I have been accused of things I didn't do and I don't say anything back because there is no point in arguing with them. I simply block them and move on. I'm not saying everyone should do that or has to but that's just how I handled these things. The fact is that when killers tunnel its frustrating and that is mentally taxing itself. When information is missing on one side it can make it seem like they did wrong. No one likes killers who are toxic or underhanded (not saying he was) and when your constantly getting tunneled it can be frustrating. They have every right to be a little upset. However I don't think its right to take your anger on others. I don't think they should of said anything to him they should just blocked him and moved on. Also I don't want to hear that tunneling isn't against the rules its true its not bannable unless you tunnel the same person multiple times in multiple matches. But it is something they can ban you over if alot of people turn you in for it. That is the same for camping if they think you are abusing the camping and doing it to the same person in every match in multiple matches you can get banned. Camping and tunneling actually hurts the game. When you have a bad experience in the game like those underhanded things it can cause players to quit or not speak well of the game it can bringing the player base down. If you loose player base the game will die and if you enjoy the game you don't want that. It's just smarter for the game itself to not camp and tunnel. Though it's a game and you should just play the way you want. Anyway that's stuff I hope you have a fun one!

Neither tunnelling or camping are against the rules or reportable.

There is no reason to be abusive to someone else over a video game.

If legit in game mechanics upset people then that is a problem they need to deal with themselves and stop having meltdowns and getting abusive like some angry child over a game.

Anything else is just trollish children making excuses for other trollish children.

  • Yeah I agree custom mode bots would make this game great.

Maybe even add in some solo challenges for blood points.

  • @Floppy said:

If you tunnel I have no sympathy for you.. simply put those types of strategies are considered underhanded and can cause frustration and bring us down. It can cause us to loose interest in the game and take away the little fun we have. What they are doing is basically what you did in the match. You put them in a bad place mentally so why should they not do the same to you. Honestly only killers who are not very good at the game do I see camping and tunneling. But if you are doing that then you deserve everything you dished out here. I rarely ever camp a survivor I main pig and if I see someone being really toxic to me I will camp them but not often. Also this seems like if they seen it. It might mentally mess with them. I find it irritating that you think others should look out for your mental state but you don't seem to care about others.

camping and tunneling are nothing to get upset about. Neither excuse people for being toxic to others in end game chat. Its a bad excuse for being a sore loser.

  • @ShinobuSK said:

I mean I already do that for a while, no need to sweat if MMR is a worthless invisible number anyway.

All I care about is BP so 4 BBQ stacks and some good chases are my win conditions.

Yeah that is my win condition now days too, but there is something grossly underwhelming about a survival horror where everyone always survives.

  • @PalletsAndHooks said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/288425/why-do-new-killers-think-tunneling-is-a-good-idea

Tunneling isn't toxic. It's a fundamental tactic that is easily discovered and notably intuitive in situations where the killer has lost control of generators. Since new players may not have the proper skills to control generators, it's a far better return in investing time tunneling an already weakened survivor.

Additionally, this is made possible by survivors that sandbag their teammates and fail to protect their unhooks.

The devs new hatch hatred update was pretty clear: the killer is playing four games at once, and the first kill will have a positive impact on their mmr. Each succeeding kill will have a positive but lesser impact on the mmr, because the survivors derail after the first death.

Tunneling is a tool. The toxicity is found in the one that is upset about it. Sometimes you need a hammer like tunneling, sometimes you need a nail like sneaking up on a survivor attempting bones. It's all about deploying the right tool, and a hammer is just much easier to use for destructive purposes than a nail is.

    Don't be toxic about tunneling.

    Exactly this.

Tunneling, camping, flashlight clicking, Morris, keys, none of these things are toxic in of themselves.

People overreacting, dictating how others should play and abusing others over it are what’s toxic.

It’s only a game after all.

  • I'm sure this is a parody but I'll bite.

You are supposed to feel powerless as survivor.

The fact that some people genuinely feel otherwise flies in the face of the games very theme.

  • It is a bit of overhype.

For a more moderate approach basically I enjoy DBD and will probably keep playing it for as long as I do.

Its unfortunate that BHVR has decided to sign agreements that permit open use of content that may include NFT's which are just ######### terrible when it comes to how they are set up, unregulated, often scammy, exploitable and grossly energy hungry making NFT markets one giant financial, environmental and moral trash pile.

Looks like the agreement involving NFT's is associated with the hellraiser expansion so I'll probably not purchase it due to that. I'll voice my general displeasure on that and vote with my wallet and that's all people really can do. I don't think that's an unreasonable response.

Anything else is a just a grotesque overreaction, common for the internet and to be expected.

If BHVR continue to sign agreements that promote the use of NFT's as incentives to get ingame material then you wouldn't be overly dramatic to say well that's a shame I'm not gonna support this anymore because I don't think its a good thing.

Does continuing to play because of NFT's make you the devil?... no

Does boycotting because of NFT's make you the hero of the people?... no

There are far more exploitative and destructive things in this world to be angry about. If folk were truly "making their stand" then this is the smallest weakest stand you could possibly make. Also its largely meaningless because you can just go back on your outrage and play anyway.

Its kind of like signing a facebook petition against something, its completely meaningless but it makes people feel like they contributed so they don't have to feel bad about living comfortably while burning fossil fuel that week.

Online outrage is the wet noodle of dissent and most companies know this.

fission ain't a wonder solution to power, maybe fusion could be that if it went the distance to viability

but there's just no way it isn't the best mainline load option available regardless of its quite significant downsides, the most pertinent being radiant scorched earth if the right few people get complacent at the wrong time

even if one creates a magic energy cube that can store solar/wind so that their load can take over the mainline, the resource extraction and manufacturing involved in them, particularly the newest omega turbines is quite.. substantial, to say the least

but storage is hell and for most locations that just leaves coal and gas to contend with uranium/thorium, and one is massively cheaper

True I wasn't completely disparaging nuke, just that it isn't the super clean option its often touted as, comparatively though its better on the whole than coal. That said renewables are better on the whole than a lot of other options and if we want to make electricity the way we do its gonna have to be in the renewable field in the end to guarantee any real long term survival for our species on this planet. Energy production as a whole is a look for the least worst kind of scenario.

For that to work we gotta cull at the very least a lot of the unnecessary usage, I'd say NFT's fall well into the unnecessary category.

I guess it comes down to what its for. I mean you could say just about any activity is bad for the world on the whole. NFT's just seem like a new level of waste though. You basically burn a huge carbon footprint so that people with more money than braincells can have a link to some virtual bling. Add in all the highly unregulated scamming, money laundering and general scummy elements of NFT's and virtual trading in general and you kind of have a really amoral system that burns a ######### tone of resources. All so that Joe Bling can have his personal link to a 70'000 dollar pixel emoji.

It boggles the mind that this is even a thing.

  • @Nayru said:

where is the link between nft's and rainforest clearing exactly

my first positing would be that it's an unrelated issue given the power net supplying the dumb datacenters could be primarily nuclear if say in france and have little to no effect on the local or global environment

it's probably usually gas or coal though because people hate nuclear and thus their lungs, but even so, rainforests? are these nft centers cropping up in the desolated clearings of south america

Direct equivalencies can be spurious to an extent, but...

Farming digital assets is incredibly power hungry and probably one of the most wasteful processes when you consider what its used for. NFT's are basically built on this infrastructure making them completely useless pieces of virtual bling for people who have more money than braincells, and no qualms about burning a carbon footprint the size of a small country to have it.

Unfortunately nuclear isn't much better of an option because the biggest pollutant from nuclear power plants is actually hot water. Hot water contributes to eutrophication of lakes, rivers and ground water which not only has all kinds of ecological effects but is a great releaser of Methane when allowed to make hypoxic thermoclines in large bodies of water, which it readily has.

Sure a one for one comparison between nuke and coal is gonna make coal look really bad but its kind of like comparing acute injury to chronic injury. Breaking your arm is bad and has long term effects which are immediately apparent and impactful, but the slow chronic long term build of of repetitive stress in your arm from constant pressure can be just as devastating if not worse in the long term. That's kind of the nuke vs coal comparison.

So the idea that nuke has little or no effect on the surrounding environment is largely untrue. Especially when you consider in this case its being used to generate digital currency at an alarmingly poor energy to output ratio.

I'll say this, that there is often a hyper focus on old growth forest when it comes to conservation. While its very important as ecosystem the focus on its preservation often overshadows other vital ecosystems that are just as important and often more threatened, mainly being wetlands, grasslands, estuarine and pelagic environments. That often have higher biomass and carbon potential, not to mention the importance of fresh water on the whole, than a lot of old growth.

My point is the "save the rainforest" rhetoric is a common conservationist trope that's often not that helpful. It does at least bring up the point that the un-necessary waste from digital farming is a big drain on energy which is a big impact on environment and it doesn't really matter where the data mining center is built it still contributes.

    Thanks so much guys 😁

    Congrats!

I was going to say when I play infinite tombstone myers I tend to go for save the best for last, then stack slowdown perks to give me enough time to get the final tier off. You already cracked it though so GG :)

Ruin, undying, tinkerer and STBL/lightborn is a good go to I find.

I'm looking forward to the rework though, a lot of the speed debuffs will be reduced from the iri addons.

  • I think SBMM is terrible.

That said since my rating has tanked, and I achieved that by eating a continuous run of 0K losses. Games finally feel a lil more casual and only half as salty endgame toxic.

You still get a few tantrums but nothing like the higher ranks where if folks lose (and sometimes even when they win) its like the greatest afront to their sensibilities ever.

Now I play a few games as I normally would then I BBQ farm a bunch of 0ks at the end to balance it out. Its crummy you have to do it that way but its just unplesant to play with the more competitive elements of this community and I'd rather not.

SBMM seems to have exacerbated the negatively competitive experience at higher levels.

  • @Pulsar said:

    I dunno.

You see it in both sides. Some Killers just want to 4K bots all day and they are perfectly happy. Some Survivors just want to have push-over Killers to bully.

I like a winnable challenge. I like to feel like I always have a chance.

Yeah true. Depends a lot on motivation to play I guess.

As killer or survivor I like a thematic game where the killer is threatening and it feels like a horror story. If I hang on a hook for the duration of that it doesn't really bother me.

But if you like the competitive interaction and the chase then a game spent on hook would suck.

Queue time plays a lot into it as well if you wait 10mins to hang on hook all game.

Problem is most suggestions to "fix" camping would be exploitable so you replace it with a new mechanic but that mechanic would still have to be just as threatening as dieing on hook to add any thrill to the chase and as such would probably be just as lamented as the current options.

My last paragraph doesnt make sense. its a simple read. oh dear, is it because i forgot the word "have" right before applicable in the last sentence? i guess unintentionally forgetting a word in a sentence makes it impossible to read.

And i dont know what youre going on about with manners. And the fact that you continuously keep saying that i am "annoyed" by the perk when i mentioned frustration once and then went on to talk about the situations where it is seen as a reason to be nerfed. smh.

If anything all that youre saying up to this point is fruitless because my main point stands at that Noed ruins the game based off of its concept, regardless of all these million ways that there are to counter as you all have shared.

    Great talk. Moving on.

If you add in "have" it still doesn't make a point. The fact you find it annoying is a core point of your argument as you stated you find it frustrating. The skill addition to that is a weak comment to add rational to why you find it frustrating but the core reason you want it removed is your own frustration.

    @kirvo said:

Dude, you are a thousand years late to the convo and just repeating what others have already said. You can read my replies so you can stop wasting your time with a whole conversation that has already happened before your arrival and absurd comment.

Plus, you werent even there for the entire game or know what happened so you cant even comment on what went on before from the clip i shared.

Youre literally adding zero substance to this page, especially saying that it was my "fault" and that my random teammates effed up. gosh, you shouldve been here 4 hours ago. Good bye once again. Youre not adding a single thing to thread at all. SMH

I know I'm not your mum but here is an example of argumentative condescension.

Ending with "great talk. Moving on" is another example.

I know I said I wouldn't but with two great examples in the last two miniutes I just wanted to drive my point home. Stop shooting yourself in the foot.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2565922#Comment_2565922

I mean, I would too. But this isn't an argument you can win logically, unfortunately.

It feels ######### to hang all game and not do anything else, so people want it removed.

What would they replace it with though?

People also hate bleeding out, dieing quickly from moris.

I just strikes me that people will only be satisfyed if escape is guarenteed and they never die. By that point though you no longer even have a game maybe some kind of never ending scooby doo loop chase. Without the threat of dieing on hook what's the point of the chase?

  • @kirvo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2565892#Comment_2565892

Yet you assume my intent instead of asking, sure okay. Incorrect again, my point is that besides it "annoying me" as you like to say, is that the perk does not involve any real skill and/or application but knowing "once i get to end game i can just one-hit people and they wont know it until i hit them, while they're thinking they will get a hit-boost and run away". And this "only measure" to "counter" is to just spend every single game looking for dull totems and hoping you spot them or that your random teammates cleanse them on the other sides of the map and poof, problem solved.

And also inferring that i've been condescending, yet you only refer to your own comment and about my stating that you up-voted it yourself. smh. To me it looks like you're wanting to feel entitled and not having any other substance for an argument.

And again using other abilities that do not compare to the one i am referencing. My point is a one-hit, end the game for you deal. Not, "oh ive been blinded, i've lost the game". That does not even compare. again, not relevant.

I am not up here simply just saying, "oh i dont like Noed, it's such a lame perk, i hate the concept, its no annoying, i want it removed because i just simply do not like it." when i've literally been saying this entire time, based on unfortunate situations where it does not applicable skills to the game.

The whole "no skill" argument is nothing but hyperbole you still have to chase and down people you are just minus one injury state so chases are slightly easier for the killer in the endgame.

It only "ends the game for you" if you are on death hook anyway or in some select specific scenarios like your example its hardly game breaking.

There are means to counter it and if it annoys you then try those, calling for its nerf because it annoys you is not a argument. Your last paragraph makes no sense.

Re-read you replies its not my job to police your manners I'm not your mum. As this also seems to be turning into a fruitless tit for tat I'm gonna walk here. Say what you like.

My point is and always has been that NOED doesn't need a nerf or removal because its pretty well balanced and if you take the time to counter it its really not a big deal. If your only reason for the nerf is it annoys you becuase you think it takes no skill then that isn't a good enough reason.

  • @Eli2020 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2565912#Comment_2565912

Also I really don't care about campers and tunnelers. I've said it before it's frustrating but those aren't enough to keep me from playing a whole match.

Facers do in fact do that and that's why it's toxic. Players are not supposed to be taking control of a game, they are supposed to be playing it.

I've face camped people plenty of times, its one of the best ways to make sure you get that hook swap. I don't think I've ever done it maliciously its just easier to block survivors trying to get the unhook and get that first early hit in or a grab if they time it wrong.

Other good options are blocking stairs or path up the hill, its basically face camping but maximising the likelyhood you'll get those hits before the unhook.

When it wasn't possible for survivors to unhook if the killer stood there that was a problem, but that's been fixed by rotational unhooking. Its a high risk game of timing now and can be quite nail biting.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2565912#Comment_2565912

People will never go for that because it isn't about the Emblems or the BP to them.

They just don't want to spend the game on the hook.

No solution will satiate people unless it involves them not being on the hook.

Yeah I guess you are right.

But it seems so strange as the hook is a core mechanic of the game, I queue up as survivor with the understanding that I may spend the game hanging on a hook.

If that's the case I'd rather distract the killer all game with it than just hang there and die because nobody bothered to rescue me.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2565827#Comment_2565827

    We aren't discussing "proxy" camping.

We are talking about facecamping specifically. The people who get an early down and plant themselves like a tree and refuse to leave.

    Those guys.

I'm not talking about proxy camping either, in fact I don't think proxy camping exists, adding the hook to your gen patrol is just smart, as you can probably guarentee at some point there will be two survivors at the hook, that's half your opponents, to just up and run away from that is foolish.

The point I was making is that it doesn't matter when or how someone may start to camp you its just silly to assume its malicious and to get upset about it.

It is kinda crummy to hang on the hook for your whole game, but I think the solution is rather than call for punisments and convoluted new game mechanics why not just compensate the person on hook.

Lets say a generous BP counter that keeps ticking upwards if the killer is within 10-20m of the hook while you hang on it, emblem points for distracting the killer if they spend longer than X in the radius of the hook so you aren't downgrading as a result of being camped.

This is an idea that really doesn't punish anyone it just rewards people for being camped.

Well it may punish in that it undermines those who might camp meliciously by generously rewarding those they are camping.

Checks a lot of boxes I reckon - rewards people being camped, isn't really exploitable to the detriment of the killer, doesn't have to radically change the game design.

Right, considering no comment has a vote passed the first page besides your own, "didnt upvote myself." sure sure...

And again, i am literally only talking about Noed, not any other abilities, so you mentioning other counter-able abilities is irrelevant in this post. And i literally said frustrated One Time, chill out. Besides my one-time mentioning the frustration, there is nothing more but just a debate going on here, and clearly youre taking it more than that for whatever strange reason.

And yes, it personally frustrates me, you make it sound like i am the ONLY person on this entire planet that plays this game and doesnt like Noed. So thank you for reiterating the purpose of my post, i do not like Noed for XYZ and would like it nerfed/re-worked/re-moved. Whether they do it or not, it's not going to stop me from talking about it and having debates.

I will say that Way before your comment from going back and forth with someone else, i already realized a miniscule solution for my argument, Actively look for totems and TRY to run the entire map and find them if playing solo.

Even if i apply all these little suggestions, i'm still going to debate the reasons why i would want something done to it. That probably will neer change.

The examples I gave are relevent because your point is NOED annoys you and should be removed but that is a poor reason to nerf/remove something. Just because something annoys you and maybe others doesn't make it grounds for its removal. NOED is pretty balanced and there are measures in place to counter it. If you are gonna try them great go for it and hopefully NOED won't annoy you anymore. I do the same thing for flashlights with lightborn as I said.

A debate implies you are open to the views of others, youve been quite condescending of others views in a lot of your replies. If that's not your inetent then perhaps look at how you word your responses to make them come across less argumentative, otherwise its poor debate.

Cited example your adherence to this self up-voting narrative that you've used to belittle my post, but hey you believe what you like I'm not here to change your head cannon. I made the point that calling for nerfs because something annoys you is silly and I stand by that.

  • SBMM largely killed the casual game. There is kinda one way to play as survivor which is split up and smash gens and the killer has to perfectly prioritise time to have a chance to stop that, throw in a lil tunneling to get it down to three early and you have the competitive meta formula for DBD.

I feel like its to easy to rank up as killer and SBMM does a better job at matching equally skilled survivors so that one potatoe I relied on to get a foothold in the game is often no longer there. (This is just my experience others experience may differ).

Mikey is a lil lacking too and unfortunately as my fav killer I get trounced a lot. I find when you are completely outmatched its time to forgoe the kills, even 1 kill seems to keep you at the higher SBMM, let everyone escape for a game or two and then try again for real its whats been working for me. I'm about as good as I'm going to get at this game too so that's my go to strat to keep it casual.

Throw a few games 0 kills then give it a try. My go to for this is BBQ and Chilli I can still farm up a heap of BP's and let everyone out the gate.

Also lightborn is my best friend I've gotten so much stalk out of the way while people try to blind me. I got to infinite tier three tombstone at 4 gens up because a 3man flashlight squad just couldn't seem to figure it out and kept trying to blind me while I stalked them. Good times.

Chase in tier 2 with your stalk 99'd for 3 and then pop at the opportune moment for the quick insta down. If all goes to plan you should have enough tier 3 left for a second insta down. Speed boosting perks work well for this.

Yeah, they play to ruin other people's experience.

Other than stopping them from killing people, you aren't going to deter them. Even if you do, they'll still find a way to try to ruin other people's days.

Luckily, the number of people actually doing that is about the same number as the amount of god squad SWF. People just like to whine when things don't go their way and exaggerate.

I think that's a pretty big assumption though.

A lot of the toxicity in this game likely results from assigning malicious intent to the other side. To say that someone camping is motivated by ruining someone elses game is just blantantly assumptive.

There is no info on that player's motivation and making up a malicious scenario in the absence of facts to suit a pre-decided narrative is unproductive.

Half the time if I'm camping its because I've failed miserably to catch survivors and now need them to come to me and often it works so well because people get so tilted about it that their game goes out the window and you win.

The other half of the time is when I've gotten tired of the loopy nature of the game and make a basement build, those are some of the best games I've had actually with really gritty hook exchanges and close chases out the door.

It'l be hard to cook up "counters" to camping without neutering one playstyle that many people play.

Great job up-voting yourself, and of course i want Noed nerfed or preferably removed. This is not the one match that it was disheartening to encounter.

I'll repeat again and again, i never once mentioned a "fear" of Noed, i literally stated that the other commentators imply that we might as well fear that every game has Noed and cleanse totems just in case. I also literally stated that, half the time, totems arent noticed and to add on top of that, most games i do not even pass through a section of the map so then i would have to hope that a teammate discovered one and cleansed, but i would never be able to know that unless voice chat with actual teammates. My one and only gripe for this game is literally to push off Noed, that is all i care about. even some other things i get annoyed about on the game, Noed is the only one i would love to see gone. And great argument, insinuating that my world is falling apart because of a "bad game". the game itself was nowhere bad, that very end moment is what ruined it PERSONALLY for me. smh

Well your annoyed by it enough to want it removed and say repeatedly you find it frustrating. If the worse thing about it is that you have to assume the killer might have it every game the same could be said for anything.

Do I bring an item what if they have franklins? I don't want to have to go back for my item nerf franklins, make it so if someone gets hit in the exit gate they don't drop it I carried it all game only to lose it at the gate its not fair...

I brought a flashlight but they have lightborn and I didn't get any blinds and got hit nerf lightborn.

If there is ruin then its probably a good idea to assume tinkerer and undying, but hey rather than having to worry about that let sjust nerf them all so they don't synergise at all and then I don't have to think about them.

    see its all so rediculous.

Taking the time to think about what the other players might have is part of the game. You made a wrong decision in the example game you showed and it cost you due to NOED. If you are "annoyed" (insert whichever adjective you like, frustrated, irked, incensed) enough by NOED that you want it removed then maybe prep for NOED, run detectives hunch. No one said your world is falling apart but you are on the forums asking for a nerf because something personally frustrates you.

I hate getting flashlight blinded so I work lightborn into most of my builds, even if I see no flashlights in the lobby folks get em in chests and I like to avoid having to play around it. We don't need to nerf flashlights because they annoy me, I run the tools to avoid them. Same can be said for NOED or any particular thing that you want to avoid.

Lastly I didn't up-vote myself but you say what you feel you need to, however belittling others often undermines your point and is best avoided.

  • incetivising people to change their behaviour is always more successful than penalising them for it.

I hope they don't change camping because we all know what happened the last time they tried that and survivors just exploited the ######### outa it.

We all know any solution implemented is gonna be some circus that is easily exploited by coordinated survivors and swf.

Incentivise killers to engage in chases and leave the hook. Half the time when I'm camping its because I've come to the conclusion that I can't catch these survivors to save myself so I need them to come to me.

  • Surely you can see the error here is yours but rather than look at that you just want them to nerf NOED.

You midgame time isn't wasted you played the game but you didn't escape its not the end of the world.

Its so tiresome watching people scream for nerfs simply because they either had a bad game or can't be bothered to switch up how they play to account for variation.

NOED is fine, if you pass a totem and you have a deep seeded hatred and fear of NOED then clense the totem or don't and risk noed.

  • I think it would be great if killers had no terror radius till the first chase.

Think about it like a real horror movie you have no idea there is even a threat till it reveals itself.

Put some horror back into the game.

I'm looking forward to it but I wish 1. I didn't watch the trailer, I feel like it showed too much and 2. Didn't know there was going to be a 3rd movie already because it spoils the ending if they even try to make it look like they may have killed Mikey.

I'm wicked happy they are having it available to stream so I don't have to go to the movie theater. Before everything shut down from covid I was already done with movie theaters since everytime it was just filled with people talking throughout the entire movie.

I am so excited for the movie man. It's been 3 years since we last saw a Halloween movie and can't wait to see him again! However I'm not sure if I'm the only one that thinks this, but I hope they didn't show us every single kill in the trailer

    I haven't watched the trailer and now I'm glad I didn't.

Its kinda like the original friday the 13th trailers for 1 and 2, they basically spoil every kill and jump scare while counting up to 13. ######### were they thinking?

Which killer are you playing, if you don't mind me asking?

I have a theory regarding a possible MMR bug.

Yeah, I really need to see some proof of this beyond an assertion, as it's straight up contrary to what I've read.

I play Trapper, Myers and Leatherface mostly but dabble around a lot. Why limit yourself.

That said the last loss streak was with Myers.

I think this is perfect timing for him to be added honestly.

About the movies that's very subjective, some are good, some aren't.

Totally subjective and if he came to DBD I'd probably pick him up for a laugh. Like I said its missing the doll horror trope.

  • There is a new series coming out so its his moment.

Also the killer doll trope is still missing from DBD.

Personally I always found the chucky films ridiculous even by late 80's early 90's horror standards but hey DBD needs a killer doll so why not.

  • Yep exactly. I'd also add don't expect anything either.

If you played a great game doesn't mean you deserve the 3-4k or to escape. NOED, insta down, luck may spoil your escape and that's fine. BT saves and coordinated body blocking, bad luck may ruin that kill you were so close to and that's fine.

Things that kinda irk me as killer is constant noise spamming and hanging out all EGC for no reason, excessively bold unthematic survivor play, but they don't justify me being a dick because its only a game. If those things irk me its a me problem.

Things that irk me as survivor, not much really except when the killer seems so outplayed that there is no threat from them. I want killers to be brutal and scary. Camp, tunnel, noed, mori, stab me on hook, let me bleed out all this things just scream survival horror. I don't want to get caught and when I escape I want it to be by "the skin of my teeth" those games are the best games.

it'd be nice for sure. Even if we didn't get bloodpoints it would help me relax after a few sweat fest matches.

you could have daily solo challenges that give BP's, you don't want to be earning them the same as online play but some challenges for solo play mode would be fun.

Again if not no biggie just the option to play custom bots would be enough.

  • I'd really like to have this to.

Custom mode bots would be great.

  • Yeah I'm gonna miss Hawkins, it was a good map, different and variety is always good.

Also my fav map to play gen killer map sized aoe blast Doc on. I've burned up all my hawkins offerings on him just to get my fill before its gone.

distressing, overcharge, unnerving presence, then anything else you like huntress lullaby, overwhelming presence, coulrophobia, mindbreaker, sloppy or thana, noed.

Bung on calm carters note and an iri queen and blast you way to non stop gen explosions.

    good times.

  • Under the old rank system when I hit the reds I usually got destroyed and wound up back where I belonged pretty quick, not always but mostly games felt best sitting in the green to purple range. I'm not that great but typically I could get 1 kill and often that wasn't enough to avoid a derank in the reds, which I'm fine with.

Under the new system I had to eat roughly 30 total losses, no kills, sometimes 1 hook max before I started getting games that I felt weren't completely unbalanced.

I think the MMR is over rewarding kills and not de-ranking efficiently, resulting in easily boosted killers who take forever to get out of their MMR if they even try and go for one kill. Something feels off about that.

But who knows as we have no information on how the MMR works so everyone is just guessing.

  • Its nothing to get upset about, think of it as the dramatic end to your part in a horror film where you crawl across the floor and bleed out.

Its four minutes sure it feels long I guess but it really isn't.

If a killer downs me and lets me bleed out I just try and crawl for dear life, thematic games are the most fun games.

  • Well after two weeks of playing games where I was totally outmatched I hard nosedived into 30 straight losses.

    I mean big losses,

no hooks, barely any hits etc and after that games are "balanced" again and by balanced I mean I have a chance to hook multiple survivors in a game without sweating through my shirt and even had one evening where I got a 3 and 4k, won't see times like that again.

Since then I play as I normally would and seem to jump up and down between hard win and hard loss, guess that's as it should be and much better than the constant sweat slog I was originally in.

At least I'm getting enough of the potatoes I deserve to have a good game every now and then and that's all one can expect from the latest design.

Also found that players seem more relaxed and are less upset about losses and less obnoxious about wins. Just gotta find your casual spot and stick there, its just harder to do with the new SBMM.

You know it was a Killer player that said this, not a survivor player.

That still doesn't lend it any credit, half the time identifying as one side of the other is just silly as its a game play both or miss out on half your purchase. I prefer killer as survivor is kinda dull but it does have its moments so its still worth playing.

If someone who plays killer wants to do this then that's entirely up to them but making a blanket call that all killers should play like this is just silly. Play how you want to play.

  • Once again the onus is on the killer player to modify their game in order to account for how others want to play.

    That's what needs to stop.

Its like asking survivors to make sure they pause and heal before hopping back on gens to slow down the gen rush, if the killer approaches don't keep working on the gen to complete it in their face and then use the sprint from the hit to run away from them. You should just start running otherwise this isn't fun for them.

Also never blind a killer after stunning them at a pallet or while they are breaking a pallet this is taking advantage of an animation they are forced to do and blinding them while they are doing it is unfun.

See how ridiculous it all sounds.

If you get unhooked in the face of the killer then should expect to be hunted down as you are now the weak link. You are hurt and probably close to death it'd be a foolish play to let you get away and reset the match.

If your team mate takes the aggro then good on them if they don't then bad them. But don't expect a killer to leave you be out of courtesy because that flies in the face of the game itself.

I hate it when the psychopathic serial killer brutally murders in a rude way.

If you find yourself getting really tilted by being camped/tunneled then the solution is don't get caught, play more cautiously, coordinate your saves and try not to hang around the hook. If you are being chased lead the killer away from hooked survivor so others can get the save.

Don't rely on or expect the killer to be nice.

I never expect survivors to be anything but obnoxious and in my face, but I appreciate when they aren't and may give hatch or an escape to folks who played well in a manner that I enjoyed but that's up to me not them, I can't nor should dictate their fun! (I can't stress this enough).

I don't want friendly killers I want scary survival horror, I don't want to get caught because that means I'll probably get killed, anything less is a limp horror survival experience.
