You're the one who replied to my comment, so why are you telling me to ignore you? Especially when you said "if you're not enjoying it, it's not for you." which you can claim was a general statement, but was clearly aimed at me. If it wasn't, you just would have made your own comment/thread about it.
It is directed at you, and multiple people who think a similar way. I never said to ignore my comment to begin with, stop twisting my words. I said ignore it IF it doesn't apply to you. I literally said in the comment "why do people".
Stop getting worked up on something that has now barely anything to do with what I said.

Yes, and that implies that I wasn't enjoying it.
I put the IF there so if you don't, then it doesn't apply to you. If it doesn't apply to you, then ignore it. Don't make a fuss about me apparently "putting words into your mouth."

When did I say I'm not enjoying it? Don't put words in my mouth. I wouldn't still be playing DbD and hanging around this forum if I didn't like the game.
However, I personally think The Dredge is a pretty meh killer that, depending on the map, can be quite annoying to play against. Not to mention, and not to sound mean, but OP's suggestion is a terrible idea.
I said IF you're not enjoying it.
-
@QwQw said:
Can we please not make him more annoying? Also all that would do is nerf Solo-que players, and they already have it super rough.
why do people act like survivors and killers go through marathon runs every time they play the game? It's a video game, if you're not enjoying it, it's not for you.

hahahaha dead hard for distance doesnt exist ahahhaha dead hard is bad ahhahaha so many people use it because it's a useless perk ahahhahahah it totally can be countered when someone uses it for distances hahaha wait I forgot dead hard for distance doesnt exist hahahahah

I’m probably going to be returning to DBD when the Dredge releases and I want to know which killer I should grind out when I come back. I’m still debating between maybe Huntress, Pinhead, Demo, Plague, and a couple others, but I’m just not sure yet. Any recommendations on who is the most fun when mastered?

Here's why DH is fair:
Nurse can stack 2 recharge addons and basically give you 0 distance to gain. Without DH, you're not really gonna last.
Nurse also can use an addon for 3 blinks and use the best recharge addon to compensate the negative, which basically gives her 3 blinks, aka, give you 0 distance. Without DH, you're not really gonna last
Blight with Alchemist Ring. Without DH, you're gonna be downed fast. That's not even talking about hug tech.
That is not even talking about perks, as a lot of these killers either build to slug or build to slowdown the game. As long as those exist, DH must remain in the game.
In any other case, DH isnt really a fair perk, but the same logic goes behind DS. You dont know what the killer is or what they are planning to do. You dont know if the killer is gonna tunnel or not. But if they do and you dont have DS, then you're screwed for no real reason. Since you cant know if it's a Nurse with double recharge, it's always best to equip DH just in case.
As for counterability, well, technically yes? Blood Echo practically negates any exhaustion perk for some time, and if you really hate DH you can stack Blood Echo and Fearmonger. It's quite the scary combo for killers who dont really need gen regression, but only lose due to DH. I'd imagine Oni would love Blood Echo and Fearmonger these days.
I'd say only blood echo, fearmonger is a joke. Just walk off the exhaustion. I just want a perk that consistently give exhaustion for a while (20 seconds or 40 seconds), without having some really niche requirements (survivors needing to be injured while also not having the perk on cooldown). If there's a perk that negates exhaustion easily while not having some super niche requirements, ill gladly run it a lot of the time.
But at the same time, strong/meta perks are just bandaid fixes, and they encourage less build variety. Hence why I hate meta perks as well as the state of the game right now.

- Bodyblocking, as in tanking a hit for someone, is a perfectly valid game strategy. Perks like Forced Penance and Mad Grit exist to counter this, as well as killer powers including Huntress, Bubba, Pyramid Head, Nurse, Blight, Spirit, etc.
- Bodyblocking, as in preventing another player from moving for a prolonged period of time and thus preventing them from playing the game, is classed as a hostage situation if it began before the Endgame Collapse was triggered, and as such is a permanently bannable offence.
Forced penance doesn't really counter bodyblocking, but I still agree that bodyblocking is fine as it is right now.

If they can set off "all your traps" in 10 seconds from being off a hook then you're placing too many traps around a hook.
Really. Using Borrowed Time "offensively" ? This is not a thing.
Ok you've just proven you either don't play enough killer or you're just lying. Using borrowed time offensively is a thing, stop trying to gaslight us into thinking it's not.
-
yeah no ######### sherlock, it does reward bad plays.
-
@Viskod said:
Nothing like having a rough game, seeing your only would be kill hop off the hook by sheer luck or Deliverance, and then you catch them, but get DS'd for "tunneling" the only survivor left.
Yeah, that should be removed. Idc about "deliverance plays", all you're doing is holding left click to get off of the hook with a 100% chance, and running to the exit with 60 seconds of literal invincibility. That's not an impressive play.
-
so you'd rather the other person be dead silent after they 4k?
I bet you that would make you even more mad.
-
Giving hatch now reminds me of American tipping culture, where before tipping was just an optional nice thing you could do, but you're not obligated to do it and you're not considered a jerk. Now, you have to give tips because baristas or waiters "don't get paid enough", and it's a problem you as a customer must fix, even though the restaurant should be paying them more. And if you don't tip, you're scum of the earth. Reminds me of giving hatch now, you're considered a jerk if you don't do so, even though it just used to be some optional action of kindness.

Hm,I've seen a lot of sentiment that you should do the opposite and remove the distance,not the i-frames.
Agreed, the distance is the most annoying part. I have no problems with the invincibility, if I fall for deadhard and I didn't wait it out, that's my fault. If someone dead hards to a pallet and I physically cannot do anything to stop it, then that's when I have a problem.
-
No, because it's a video game? Why in the hell would you play a video game if it gives you anxiety before you even start a match?
-
Don't feel bad, people who play the game signed up for this, including me. We don't have a gun pointed to our heads forcing us to play killer. We play it because it's fun, despite the unfun times.

I know! But most are not :/ Those Forums are the best example that most of the time it is a Skill Issue on the Killers Side. :/ Paired with the inability to accept own mistakes.
I mean it goes the same way with survivors, they constantly either blame their teammates or blame the killer for playing unfair.
In other words, stop with the Us Vs Them stuff, it applies to both sides.

The keys were conditional. Gens had to be done to make the hatch spawn and use them. Survivors made their own fun after meeting those conditions. A lot of that fun was removed when the hatch was changed. Hatch plays were very fun for survivors if they were able to make it spawn in time.
How is that difficult though? All the key does in this situation is net the survivors escapes earlier than usual. The survivors who make "key plays" just sit at the hatch waiting for the killer to come near their location so they can taunt them. It also seriously affects their other teammates if the killer closes the hatch before everyone else escapes. Had one guy angry at the other guy using a key since it got hatch closed, and the exit gates were close by, so I eventually got him.

@KateMain86 said:
The hatch change was catastrophic for survivors. When I read about the change, I couldn't believe it. So many things changed when this happened. Incredible key plays (that were entirely conditional) and keys which had great value in many situations all of a sudden no longer could be used the same. Some of my most exciting matches were hatch plays before the change. I still don't understand why they felt it needed to be changed this much, to only potentially benefit the last survivor. My keys have basically turned into dust collectors. I think I've used less than 5 keys since this change and they were only used for addon testing to see if I could find a reason to use them again. Now I avoid them in the blood web if I can. I really miss the old hatch.
I... don't miss old hatch. I'm sorry, there are just many horrible experiences with keys that warranted the changed. I do think keys should be buffed however, but not reverted to how they were before.
-
Yes legion's extra speed should be reverted. In fact, he should have never sleep pills basekit, minus the extra duration. We should also make it so that legion tech is either not possible or bannable, this is an EXPLOIT, stupid killer mains need to stop EXPLOITING. All killer do is get carried. I mean what's so hard, just hit the guy lol haha. Survivor cannot kill killer, bad game design, unfair. Killer kill survivor easily because they hand holding with behavior. stupid game nerf clown nerf legion nerf killer
-
It's not that common, stop overexaggerating. I'm almost at 1k hours, and I havent even encountered a single hacker. Sure, there could be subtle hackers, but you seem to act like almost every game is blatant cheaters who mess around and spam hook stages across the map.

That's if they get destroyed. What OP is implying is that if it's not destroyed, you can change the position. If it does get destroyed, then obviously it wont go to another totem, you'll need undying for that.

Nerf to Iron will for Spirit, or have her completely bypass in it while in phase.
Nerf to Pyramid head, require him to use his power instead of being able to cancel it after zoning.
nerf to 110 speed on killers.
buff allow Plague to recall her corrupt anywhere
buff no recoil to trickster
No, don't nerf pyramid head. We barely have any pyramid head players. They already nerfed his animation speed when cancelling his power.
If you made it so you have to use your power, and you can't cancel it, you'd just have survivors W key'ing right when they see him about to plant his sword into the ground.

Maybe cause everything is situational. But in your mind "get off the gens" isn't for some reason. What if, after your strategy, you have birds shot at you? Or a doctor shocks you? Or someone misses a skill check? It's all situational, just like dealing with DH. But alas, only your point is valid and your advice is foolproof.
I'm talking about PR and DMS combined. When you see a killer pick a survivor up, either get off the gen, or wait until you see the aura of the survivor being put on the hook (which is what I do). I'm not talking about killer power's, I'm talking about PR and DMS combined. DMS with some of the killer's powers (like artist) is a completely different conversation.

Bet you have the same thoughts when it comes to DH. Just wait it out dogg
Don't see how DMS and PR are comparable to DH, where one has a clear counter, and the other one has a counter that only works if they're using the perk in a certain way.
-
can they just make shadowborne basekit, minus the part where you get blinded easier
-
You seriously get off to being a loser huh?
Do you seriously make these posts going "yeahhh time to make people riled up in the comments! I love negativity!"
You are a big part of the reason as to why we still have this tribalism garbage in the community.
-
@sizzlingmario4 said:
They don’t need to nerf artist. They might need to change DMS though
If you're referring to DMS and Pain Resonance, no they don't. Let go of the gen before the killer hooks, so that Pain Resonance doesn't push you off, triggering DMS.

I doubt it. People are throwing because they don't like the challenge.
Look at ANY complaint thread; the 'unfun' killers are always the ones who have a higher than 50% win rate. They are basing their fun on winning, not on enjoying the game itself.
So losing = unfun = nerf them.
Agreed, happens to any killer I play. Even if I'm playing someone like clown or trapper, people still suicide on hook.
-
the three of them are running dead hard, they're on the pallet heaven map, and this pinhead had no addons. What was so difficult for them?
-
@gendoss said:
A standard killer lunge is longer and faster than Dead Hard. Killer moves faster and essentially gets infinite buffed Dead Hard attacks and you're the one saying Dead Hard takes no skill?
dead hard doesn't slow you down drastically after you use it, lunging does. If lunging worked like dead hard, you wouldnt see killers moving at all, they'd just be constantly spamming lunges for distance.
What the hell is the comparison lmao.
-
@SuzuKR said:
I think your title should be less combative. I think using it to dodge attacks is good design and healthy. It can be baited. It being used for distance to a loop is unhealthy, which BHVR correctly realized. It cannot be baited. Not a survivor main. I play both sides evenly.
couldn't have said it better myself.

If Killers would accept that they do mistakes instead of blaming SWFs for every loss, they would not have a reason to dodge, just saying that.
don't you people blame your solo q teammates 90% of the time you guys lose when you're equally as bad?
-
@GannTM said:
Oh god please don’t make Dried Cherry Blossom basekit. Her fun factor would be ruined with that. I think just directly nerfing Iron Will would be a way better decision.

problem is in that example hes abusing a bug where the survivors cant get the prompt to unhook.

Exactly. It happened with MoM and I am certain it will happen again.
MoM is literal garbage compared to post nerf COH. COH is still a good perk, the 25% reduction didn't do anything before, nor is another 25% reduction going to do anything now.
